I’ve had a really lovely experience at the cafe every time I visit. The coffee and customer service was (as always) lovely and they were accommodating to everything I asked for/ wanted. We chose our lunch from the specials board which was delicious. We’ll definitely be returning! Also, there was a large range of pastries which were huge !

I've lived opposite the White Horse for almost forty years and seen many tenants/managers come and go. It's better now than it's ever been. Sunday lunch yesterday was the best pub roast I've had for a long time. Imaginative and well-cooked selection of vegetables to go with the excellent beef.

I Got invited to a birthday here, if you want to burn money for crap food and drink then this is the place!! I have eaten in a lot of posh places but this by far is the worst iv ever been to, over priced food and drink, 3 glasses of wine £54… if it was good wine then yes but is was worst then Sainsbury’s taste the difference for £8 a bottle food wasn’t great either.. if your looking for this type of food just go to Wagamama as you got a lot more for your money… would never go here again or even recommend to anyone

Afternoon Tea… I visited for afternoon tea with my husband and paid £40 per person for an afternoon tea with a glass of champagne. The service was very good and the waitress was lovely as was the restaurant itself, but that’s where the positives ended. We were offered tea or bubbles before we started and we opted for the bubbles, we paid an extra £10 per person for a glass of champagne and we got a half of a glass of what I suspect was Prosecco. When the afternoon tea arrived, I was gobsmacked, a traditional afternoon tea comes with sandwiches, pastries and scones. What we got was totally and utterly unacceptable. The savoury element was a tiny arancini ball, and two very small pieces of bread with hummus and a cream cheese topping. Photo one is what is advertised for their afternoon tea on X (formally Twitter). The reality of what you got is in photo two plus an additional scone that came after. I have had afternoon tea several times in other places and have never been so disappointed. I don’t know how the waitress kept a straight face when she brought it over because if it were me, I would have laughed! Adding insult to injury the teeny tiny little meringue with shop brought, there is no way that was a home-made meringue and surely that has got to be one of the easiest things to make. The pot of tea arrived once we had finished our “afternoon tea” whilst we appreciate we opted for bubbles first, we really didn’t think there was going to be such a long wait for the actual tea! I emailed the restaurant to give constructive feedback and I have not had the courtesy of a reply, had they acknowledged the complaint I would not have had to leave a negative review.

Warm welcome and changing our table was no problem. The lady looking after us went above and beyond to make sure our visit was perfect. Menu choices were fabulous, our gluten free vegetarian friend was able to have a pie for the first time in years. Furniture was comfortable, we were able to sit at the table for over 2 hours.

DO NOT PARK HERE. My husband entered this car park for only 5 mins to get a coffee ( THE SIGNS SAY FREE PARKING FOR 90 MINUTES) . Parking fines have been issued saying he stayed over night! Two separate photos taken of his car with no time stamp on. His car was driven to his place of work after his got his coffee and then home approx 15 miles away from this establishment. Absolute scam. AVOID THIS CAR PARK !!!!!!

No bar food and revolting lager tasting like soap. Had another side business indian takeaway upon the place that is placed now on the last used kitchen that is was condemed by health and safety due to this being a old toilet block that still consists of sewage and drains!!. DO NOT EAT FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Try the village for the real deal

The gardens were lovely, however we wanted to have tea in the topiary garden. So disappointing. The scones were awful they were so hard! ( it's not difficult to make a fresh scone). Paper cups, paper basin for the scone and victoria sponge. Cardboard knives! Cardboard spoons ! What ever has happened to enjoying a piece of cake and a cup of tea on a proper plate. Has this lackadaisical attitude evolved since lockdown? (It seems the case in many other places too). Or are we becoming a "can't be bothered society".
