Cut - Steakhouse in Swale

The chicken burger was wet, bland, mushy and horrible. The fries were fine so I ate those, I told the staff who served us and they couldn’t care less so I asked if it was possible not to be charged for mine but they said as I’d already tried to eat the burger which I left the rest of as it was a pile of mush and that I had ate the fries they wouldn’t. I asked if they did the online discount they had on their site and they said no it was from a while ago. There was no way of them giving me any form of compensation for my experience in any form. Luckily this place has since shut down.

My friend and I booked bottomless brunch on high recommendation but we were a little disappointed. The food was flavourful but extremely small portions!! Cocktails were watered down and very slow service. Two big parties in at the same time as us which seemed to take priority over us. We only had 2 cocktails and 2 glasses of Prosecco in the 90 mins. Such a shame as it has potential but unfortunately we will not be returning.

We had been there 40 minutes and only received 1 drink, we ordered our food which was served on big platters instead of individual orders and it was cold

A group of 8 of us all had different steaks & everybody thought it was gorgeous, I had the rib-eye & it was stunning Friendly staff & a great evening

Me and the missus decided to go out for a cheeky celebratory dinner after finding out she was pregnant. Booked a table online using their booking service. Really easy to use, only niggle there was having to pay a £20 deposit, but I totally understand why after so many years in the industry myself i know cancellations are a nightmare. We had already looked at the menu online before booking so knew exactly what we were having, THE CHÂTEAU BRIAND... Priced perfectly for the quality and size, nothing more to say. The waitresses were excellent, especially attentive and extremely helpful. Only thing I would say is a better drinks menu for what is on offer other than wines. Great for me, not so great for unsure newly pregnant people... Other than that great evening out, excellent service and perfectly priced... We will return and we would definitely recommend in the future. Big shout to chef keV for the wicked espresso...

Went on a Saturday lunch place empty but made a show of seeing if they had room for 2 !!!! Had burgers mine was bland no seasoning at all partners fell apart. Not a single person came in whilst we were there so really pleased they could squeeze us in. Not really don't think we will be going back

We visited on a Thursday evening with hopes of ordering off the 3 course set menu. Didn’t have much choice and dessert was literally ice cream and every steak except the flat iron comes with a supplement (£5-£9) and you have to pay extra for a sauce. Some steaks (can’t remember which) you have to add fries/sides to so by the time you’ve done it equates to a main menu price anyway! We were hovered over until we paid the bill rather than it being left with us and the waiter returning once we had finished our drinks and were ready to pay which I found a bit rude/untrusting. Food was lovely but overall for food, service and value for money I would much rather go to Miller & Carter.

It was a bit of a shambles… The menu given is not what is shown online… no starters & just steaks & not a lot else. There were 3 starters written on flipchart paper stuck to the wall - we had the breaded brie & cheesy garlic bread (2 slices) - they were ok No rose Prosecco so had the normal one, had to drink it out of wine glasses as the only waitress who knew what was going on couldn’t reach the flutes (not sure who could without ladders) No jugs for water so had large pint glasses. Main - ordered chateaubriand & im not convinced it was chateaubriand either - way over cooked for how it should be served & no flavour. Sauces we’re ok. Found a hair in the steak as well. The waitress looking after us made it better then what it should have been - she didn’t work there & was simply helping her old manager out - she needs a medal! Several guests seated got up & walked out once seeing the actual menu!

Whilst annoyed I need to remain honest in my review for other potential visitors. In my personal view though, solo travelling through Wakefield as a hungry male I may mot be inclined to advise visiting this establishment, full-stop. The owner / manager (I assume) was keen to announce this was a Steak House to me when having no Sunday dinners left, however, it did not entirely deliver. The food I would say was 'reasonable' best, missed the tomato that was promised on the menu itself in their own letters, and the steak was chewy even for a flat iron steak. My biggest criticism though would be the fact he clearly treated people differently by group. There was a lovely couple in there with their grandparents who he treated wonderfully, and couples, and then there was me. Just before 9pm he whisked my barely finished plates away and I suggested the possibility of ordering another drink. I asked him at what time they closed and he insisted 9pm, even though Google told me 10pm the whole time and they were open until then. Unfortunately I didn't argue my case and just paid by card and left feeling annoyed by the service and deflated as he clearly wanted to just get rid of me.

We went for my son's 30th Birthday and was impressed with the food we were served. We had a 6 and 10 year old with us and both enjoyed the free ice cream after which was a big hit. My steak was cooked just how I wanted it and we all enjoyed the food and the surroundings. Nothing was to much trouble.

This was our second time eating at Cut but this time with the kids! Amazing service from start to finish. The food was spot on. We had the fondue sharing platter which was fab and great value for the money. Kids absolutely loved it and were catered for each step of the way (even with an allergy). Will 100% recommend and will definitely be going back!

Great bottomless brunch - super food selection with flowing drinks. Refreshing to have a choice of food at a brunch. Great service; the waiter was friendly & chatty. Highly recommended

It’s tricky because the place and the food were good however the manager switched sauces as he served our food so we got the wrong steak with the wrong sauce. We complained so both steaks were replaced but then both were over cooked. Not prepared to wait for a second correction we gave up. The service was atrocious although there were some lovely young student staff trying their best.

So been here a few times before and never had a bad experience hence suggesting it. After todays experience never again, reduced menu never informed. The menu on the website is not what's served. Don't even have a starters menu or dessert menu. The chef has walked out noone is in control and it shows before we even got served I actually got my phone out to book somewhere worst experience of my life. Ordered a bottle of pinot it was not even cold if your a vegan you can have a portion of chips that's it!!! Peppercorn sauce all over the salt and Pepper grinder, 1 vinegar bottle passed round tables. Chicken like chewing drywall. My burger was bland and totally tastless my partner was the same. I wouldn't even touch the coleslaw. Carnt get to toilet at payment till is at the bottom of the stairs and with 3/4 waiter/waitressed all taking bills. Best thing we could do was get out of there and never return, so miserables and I won't mention the toilets been in nicer spoons toilets!!!

Second time visiting the cut and everything was spot on from the first time visiting. We received a rather warm welcome and was shown to our seats, the waitress explained that a few things have changed in regards to the menu. The decor of the place is rather relaxing and warm, the service was quick and didn’t have to wait long for each course. Since we have been before it didn’t take us long to decide on what we wanted. The mini Yorkshire puddings and beef were gorgeous and the tacos were delicious and very more ish. The chateaubriand was cooked to absolute perfection (medium rare, how it should be) and we had triple cooked homemade chips, sweet potato fries and onion rings. Highly recommend the peppercorn sauce and the beef dripping gravy. All in all love this place and would highly recommend going for any occasion.

The food and as amazing but the service was terrible! We ordered Chateaubriand and it was tiny, they replaced it with other steaks but the manager was incredibly rude!! The waitress was amazing but would never go back. Absolutely appealing service from the manager!
