Food poisoning! My partner and I stayed one night at the hotel for my partners birthday surprise (02/07/2024) we also ate at the Firepit restaurant. Our reservation at the restaurant was 19.00, at 20.00 after consuming the food I started to feel nauseous so we informed the staff and they kindly offered to deliver the food via room service. Our first dish was the scallops, we staff memeber told us that we only had one due to it being the last one. After trying some scallop, we reported the scallop had a very strong fishy smell to it and the texture seemed off- we stopped eating it and the staff member collect it. We received the food which certainly was not a “sharing” portion and appeared to be served as mushy baby food. Within a couple of hours I had signs and symptoms of food poisoning, following on from my symptoms, my partner experienced the same symptoms a few hours later which resulted in us both vomiting and the rest of it. As we checked out, we informed the staff for their own safety as the room was very unhygienic at this point- a staff member commented on my partner’s appearance stating he did not look well. We were asked to email reception regarding the possible food poisoning. Later on in the evening, I had to attend hospital following serious dehydration and I was diagnosed with food poisoning, after multiple tests I was told it was shellfish poisoning, which my partner and I had queried. I was admitted to hospital for a one night stay, symptoms lasting over one week. After multiple emails, I was informed there was an investigation being launched. I got told a time estimate where I should receive the investigation outcome from the hotel, which I still have not received. After emailing multiple times requesting some form of compensation for the illness and the spoilt stay, I received ONE email stating I have already been told it’s under investigation- I have since emailed twice and received no reply- the staff have showed no sympathy or compassion. If there was as an option for submitting a zero star review, then I easily would.

Absolutely unreal experience, amazing food service and wine! Would definitely recommend. Well worth it.

Plus:The waitress was extremely efficient, polite and helpful. Negatives: extortionate prices. £45 for black cod, £10 for mashed potato, total £186 for two. I'm not in Knightsbridge ! The food isn't served on hot plates either so is not hot when it should be . Clearly this restaurant is appealing to a certain clientele, I'd suggest coming down from London. Place was dark and quite chilly, very claustrophobic on a beautiful summers day with all the blinds shut. Lastly a total failure to offer a main dish for a vegan. They did do it but it should be on the menu already. Won't be returning

Pretty good in the food department but was very pricy fir whst it was Tge service was very good.

Had the most amazing meal. Full of flavour and presentation was amazing too. I can’t believe I’ve not been before especially as I considered myself a “foodie”. Currently looking through the diary for the next excuse to go back! That says it all really. Big shout out to our server Maddie who is a credit to this establishment.

This place never disappoints. The food was incredible and the service attentive. The menu has changed from what we saw online with a more Asian twist this time but still very good. Our waitress was brilliant, besides calling two females “guys” constantly, she was great and serving many many tables and just being overall great. A credit to the Cave. We will be back!

Upon arrival we opted to try the firepit as we have eaten at the Korean cowgirl previously (superb by the way!) On Sundays they offer a carvery but not a queuing system. The chef brings the trolley to your table and carves your choices. The vegetables were all amazing too plus a huge gravy boat which my husband loved as most places are right with gravy. The whole menu was delicious, Maddie was so attentive and never missed an empty glass. The sharer dessert was the icing on the cake! Just a great meal. We will definitely be back.

The 3 stars are for staff friendliness as they are lovely but we recieved most of our food 2 hours after ordering so at 10pm and then the cod was cold but removed the bill the crab was tastless the best thing was the beef tataki staff made a lovely effort for our anniversary we wanted dessert but the wait was too long

Absolutely stunning. Food was amazing Highly recommended. We picked 3 dishes each sugar snap peas, soft shell crab, voodoo shrimps, scallops, Thai cauliflower and the shredded lamb, all were delicious. We spent about 3 in total at the restaurant which was perfect. We have eaten in loads of top restaurants. This is something different where you pick a tapas style choice and then the chef picks which dishes are best suited with each other. Not our standard 3/ tasting menu style but the whole experience was great. See you again and thanks

We visited to celebrate a special family birthday. A table booked at 7 45, we still had nothing to eat at 9 15. A rather unappetising miso broth was delivered - my daughter had fondly remembered the bread selection with various specialty butters but the owners have replaced bread with the broth and the waiting staff obviously spend lots of time apologising for this and acknowledging that this is an unpopular decision. When the food arrived, it was mostly tasty but when you have waited so long and the concept is sharing plates which emerge gradually to be savoured across an evening, we fell upon them hungrily to the degree that I don’t even remember the 2 mouthfuls of scallop (£18). The waiting staff were clearly under pressure as there were plenty of other hungry customers. Each time a plate of food appeared from the kitchen, the expectation from each table was palpable. The staff were apologetic and tried their best. They gave us a free round of drinks and some free snacking beans but by 23 00 when they were suggesting dessert, we were all tired and just wanted to go. The food and drinks are expensive and I assume you are paying a premium for the experience. It was supposed to be a special occasion but we will remember it for the wrong reasons.

Beautiful ambience. Warm welcome. Great service. Waiting staff have a great knowledge of the food. The food is absolutely stunning. Recommend the Sticky Thai Fried Rice. Brilliant chefs match up your choices to make a fantastic dining experience.

First, and LAST visit to the firepit. Had the set menu, which was rushed in just over half an hour. Our plates were being taken away before we had finished our meals. You are paying for the privilege to be there, definitely not the food. Can get far better meals and service elsewhere for a lot less money.

Very disappointing... Hot food served on cold plates, bent forks, food being taken away before we'd finished. Our set menu was completed in 35 minutes, we were rushed making the experience very unpleasant. Food was mediocre, will not be returning as there are far better restaurants for less money.

Staff and food was excellent, amazing vibes with great music. Recommend the beef fillet as it was exceptional. Aswell as the Crispy Tallow potatoes

Me and my wife had the 8 course tasting menu. The food was amazing and the service was good (albeit a bit slow between courses). Had a number of cocktails as well which were delicious.

Hands down one of the best restaurant’s we’ve ever been to in our lives. Never tasted food like it, everything had so much flavour. There was a chefs recommendation tasting menu however we decided to choose a selection of different dishes from the menu to share. It was Incredible. Even the butter from the breads was amazing and we were lucky enough to be given some more to take home which we will be using to flavour our roast potatoes on Sunday. Adam came out to explain how things were cooked and explained the menu and how everything was cooked it was so interesting to hear. All the staff were so friendly, our drinks were never empty. We don’t have any food allergies but they were very good in making sure we didn’t have any so I would definitely say they cater for everybody. Cocktails were amazing too and they also had our favourite wine whispering angel. If you have a special occasion you are celebrating I would definitely recommend the fire pit. We will be back, can’t wait to taste their Sunday lunch some time.

It was my first time here. First impressions were fantastic. Atmosphere perfect and the welcoming feel you got was extra mile level of service from the team. The prices are extortionate and not even excessive. This opinion from someone who is not afraid to spend money on treating myself. Infact Some prices were just plain ridiculous to be honest, but I appreciate it is targeted for a certain market as it is situated on a golf course that attracts alot of visitors from all over. A £16 bottle of wine normally would cost you £35 here. However I wanted to give it a go as a treat but this really is just a special occasion venue at best. The food and presentation in general is super. The tastes perfectly complementing eachother however I would not reccomend the lamb dish. Being the most expensive it was rather disappointing. I would expect all the tastes of the dish to be coming through for the price, but the lamb itself was non exsistant. The times between dishes were unusually excessive. 40mins plus. The service was faultless for us on this occasion. However I never like to see service charges just put on bills. I would also like to think and expect considering the prices here that the staff are paid well over minium wage per hour by the company itself. If not then it seems a little dishonest. Especially charging these prices then requesting that the customer also tops up their wages too. I'm confident I would reccomend but only for special occasions and I would certainly make them aware that the prices are extortionate. Its important to pay more than normal to experience that little bit more but also feeling a satisfaction of value for money too. £500 on average for one night stay and dinner is far from reasonable for me for the location. For these reasons I give a 3 star. The team work incredibly hard and very attentive. It is very much appreciated.

Had been waiting to visit this restaurant for two years, based on recommendations from friends, who had mentioned it being expensive. It did not disappoint with so many dishes to choose from, they have got the concept and timing of the food service spot on. It was not as costly as we were expecting and for the quality of food is definitely worth every penny. Would recommend this restaurant and cannot wait to return and also try out the Korean Cowgirl downstairs.

Give it go.... I was a little bit unsure about eating here at first - I wasn't sold on the tapas concept and thought generally it may be a little bit 'style over substance' BUT I am willing to admit I was wrong! The food was amazing...and depending on what you ordered was plentiful and well worth the money. I would call out the soft shell crab and Pork ribs as exceptionally good (tasting and value) but then I personally thought the crispy lamb, whilst nice, was overly expensive for what you got and could of easily gone without. Overall - great evening, lovely food and good service.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant! The food is incredible, there is so much flavour and everything is cooked to perfection Always brilliant service with an exceptional head waiter who really knows his stuff! well worth the money, i would much rather save to go here than go to a cheaper restaurant.

Great Sunday roast . Amazing service from the staff and food was amazing particularly all the cuts of meat and the pudding.

A brilliant restaurant for a celebratory meal! The perfect sharing style food for a family, friends or couples. Our third trip, and the food didn’t disappoint! Every dish was beyond tasty and the team were very knowledgeable on each dish. A great selection of drinks, inc cocktails in the bar before/after. My only slight niggle would be the service was slightly (which luckily we didn’t mind as we were busy chatting and not in a rush) slow. If you are happy to have a long drawn out evening, then you shouldn’t worry at all. It would be a five star, but there were a few times where this could be avoided and fixed for the price - offer still or sparkling water upon seating and be shown the drinks menu straight away) offer the drinks menu again with dessert for after dinner drinks/ be shown to a comfier part of the hotel for the later. I have been previously with the old menu, and there was definitely some better dishes (but that’s personal preference!).

Friends that had been before really rate this restaurant so as they were with us - felt limited to moan! Firstly the restaurant is extremely dark! Secondly the leather seats/benches are extremely uncomfortable and cold! Did ask for a cushion which I got. Thirdly uncomfortably...

A really nice location with great service. The food was not the best though and definitely not the quality expected for the price. Some of the dishes could be compared to a local takeaway.

We went to try the breakfast. One of the dishes ordered was halloumi fingers with dippy boiled egg. It was so hard we couldn’t dip the fingers. We sent it back and they replaced it but still one of the eggs was hard. Just saying if you can’t even get a boiled egg right! Plus noise from guy drilling the door we couldn’t even talk. Sorry we won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

So wanted to book a table for 8 people .. to be informed yes we can do but you have to have the tasting menu £70per head .. ask why said cause it’s easier for us .. disgusting should be allowed to have the choice...

My favourite restaurant I Have been to the cave hotel and resort Fire pit restaurant many times and gets better each time I visit the food melts in your mouth it’s worth the visit it will not disappoint The staff are so friendly and give you 10/10 service nothing is ever to much if you have a special occasion this is your place to book Can’t wait to return next month for my birthday

My friend chose this for our shared birthday dinner. Quite an experience. The restaurant is dark and cave like indeed. It was busy and most people there were young and beautiful. Menu is tapas style - small plates to share and each was delicious.

Had a Sunday lunch. It was beautifully presented but that was all. The beef had so much fat on it and the vegetables were cold and Yorkshire pudding so hard. I took it all home for my dog who loved it but £30.00 for one...

I really like the setting and the concept, the food for me was not good enough for the price point. Price wise , this is comparable to London prices and Michelin star restaurants in Kent, but the food was not spectacular. It all very nice, but not exceptional. Again, love the concept of choosing a few dishes and the chef arranges them into a couple of courses. The deck for pre drinks is a nice vibe, although a few tweaks could be excellent. The service on the deck wasn’t great, had to go find staff on a few occasions. Tried to order at the bar, but told its table service only…but then had to try to get attention of staff. The music needs to be a little more carefully curated to create one particular vibe…it went from cool Ibiza chill, to retro dance, to 90s pop. All good, but one consistent atmosphere at a time, transitioning throughout the evening would be good. Also had the candied brisket and caramel popcorn as a bar snack. This was not well executed. Served in a paper bag, which suggest a portable snack…but too messy to eat that way, and def too Messy as a snack with your drinks. The beef brisket was in big lumps, that we pulled apart, to eat with the popcorn. The popcorn was not fresh. Good concept, but not well served. The beef needed to be properly shredded and much drier…salty shredded beef (dry!) with sweet fresh caramel popcorn…that would be a very good snack. We had a lovely evening. It felt like we went out, rather than just to a local restaurant. But for the prices, I’d expect much better.

A total disappointment. They allow other diners to vape at the table which in my opinion is not acceptable. It is the most overpriced for what you get restaurant I have ever been to. £17 for albeit nice cauliflower £45 for a very small piece of cod between 4 people. Service was somewhat slow. An excellent dining experience at The Firepit. We arrived early and enjoyed pre-dinner drinks in the small bar area at the entrance of the restaurant. Then while being seated, our waiter perfectly explained the menu and recommended some particular dishes. It's a lovely sharing menu where 3 plates per person is easily enough, we had 16 plates between 5 of us and we were stuffed by the end of it all. The special short rib beef they had on the menu was exceptionally good. All the service was very good and I definitely will like to return one day. The meal cost £450 between 5 of us, that included a round of cocktails/mocktails , one bottle of wine and a couple of soft drinks. Optional service was included.

Had high expectations on reading the reviews and looking at the pictures. Location is good and set on the grounds of a hotel and golf course. The interior decor of the restaurant is very nice. It’s modern and well thought-out. The meal however was disappointing. Service was very slow. We were told they offer tapas style dining but that only works when the dishes are brought out all together. We were given some bread to start, which was tasty and well presented. Then we waited around 30 minutes for the first of the dishes to come out: the skewered beef. After that we waited another 30 minutes for the next few dishes, then another age for the last. I ended up cancelling the rice dish as it hadn’t come out for over an hour. I didn’t want a bowl of rice at the end of the meal. The food was all very well presented, but sadly it looked better than it tasted. The beef was overly chewy as was the duck. I’m not sure how duck ends up being chewy. The curried chicken was dry and needed more sauce. Sea bass was lacking in any taste. As a guide they state you should order 6 meals (3pp) but the dishes were actually quite large so we could have done with 4. The desert, however, a sticky toffee pudding, was very nice! Lastly, it was very expensive. They want to offer tapas style dining but with dishes costing between £18-£60 it soon adds up. I also noticed that being attached to a golf course meant there were groups of people in there who had clearly been playing golf and drinking all day. This meant it was very loud in there and ruined a lot of the ambience.

Had an enjoyable lunch at the Firepit restaurant. Although disappointed with the Voodo Shrimp which was small and overpriced, mostly the food we ordered were tasty and enjoyable. The staff were attentive and professional and the atmosphere relaxed. We particularly enjoyed a nice drink outside on the terrace after lunch which topped off a wonderful afternoon. Slight issue with the random waiter asking if we had for our drinks when we asked him for direction to the car park... We wouldn't be leaving if we hadn't paid. Overall decent place that i would recommend

We had dinner at The Firepit which was without a doubt the best food we have ever eaten and blew us away! We chose the taster menu which was a chef's selection of dishes. When each dish arrived the waiter explained what the dish was, which was really helpful. We ordered the black cod as an extra and it is the best dish I've ever eaten. Special mentions for the Fillet Steak, Monkfish Tails, Voodoo Shrimp and Sweet Potato Gratin. Staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Had an early evening meal at the Firepit, had heard good things about this restaurant so was looking forward to it. First impressions the restaurant is well decorated and comfortable. We ordered the following 6 plates from the Firepit menu. 1. Korean beef skewers, chilli, chive, lime 2. Curry fried chicken, curry leaf & lime yoghurt 3. Spiced lamb cutlets with mint & lemongrass glaze, pistachio crumb. 3. Sticky thai fried rice, with Fried egg. 4. Smoked USDA short rib in a sticky Asian sauce, slow cooked for 9 hrs. 6. Charred tender stem broccoli with aged black vinegar, cashew, caramelized red onion, sesame seeds. Finished of with this desert: Chargrilled sticky toffe ginger cake, bourbon caramel, stem ginger ice cream & toffee apple. Everthing we chose was extremely tasty and well presented. This isn't a cheap eat but in my opinion it was well worth it, staff are knowledgeable and very helpful, we will definitely be back. Thanks Firepit Team

Cheeky breakfast before golf. Food was out of this world. Service was a little slow but they had loads of room service checks on. Can’t wait to go back to try the rest of the menu. It’s a great place to have attached to the golf club.
