A very pleasant and welcoming waterside pub. Well cooked, tasty lunchtime pub grub served with a smile. I first came here as a child in the mid 1960's and returning now for a nostalgic midweek trip down memory lane with my Dad, it's still a proper traditional pub in a good way.

We came with our beagle for a roast dinner on a blustery day after a morning walk along the harbour. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed with a smile from the landlord and staff and shown to our table. Dog bowl and a sausage for the dog and we ordered our roast. The roast was proper home cooked! Very tasty, huge portions and exceptional value for money! We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back again very soon. Thanks again.

Young lady behind the bar greeted us and kindly found us a table for 2 on Sunday about 10.30. Windy day so most of indoor seating taken, several outside free. Offered the included hot drink straightaway.Breakfast was timely, hot, very tasty, great quality and very good value. One white slice of toast was included. If I had to quibble then I'd say option of wholemeal would have been good but won't be stopping us returning. This pub has a quaint feel and situated right by the harbour.

Wonderful new owners who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Superb breakfast with everything on the plate including home-made bubble & squeak and black pudding! But you can make a choice of what you do or don’t want. Great sausages. Lovely hot coffee and even herbal teas! Live music Saturdays and open mic Weds. This kind of hospitality is hard to come by. I come back to Queenborough once a year, as my father was from here & I came down as a child, from Blackburn, Lancashire, to my grandma's on Whiteway Road, for summer holidays & christmas's. I make a bee-line for the Old House At Home, as I was never old enough to frequent it back in the 60's & 70's. My favorite tipple is London Pride which is on draught here. The staff & locals always make me feel welcome here & I cannot wait until my next visit. I know much of it is nostalgia, Mrs. Phipps shop which is now a convenience store, the glue factory & its smell etc. I love it. And Blue Town. Need to bring my 'kids' down!

Honestly hate writing bad reviews but the experience I had in here on Friday was so awful I had too. We felt like we weren't particularly welcome as soon as we set foot in the pub, 4 adults, 4kids and 2 dogs but our friends have been to this pub with us before when visiting and we've always had a great time and never any problems. Straight away told we weren't allowed through to the back with the dogs (always allowed too before it changed hands) apparently that's because there's food in that area (always was before and never a problem) I saw a vtech child's plastic garage with a couple of hot wheels car and the 2 boys went straight over and started playing really nicely and I actually thought how brilliant of the pub we can have a nice drink and the kids are happy.Tried making conversation with the bar lady and that was hard work and she seemed like she'd rather not chat. I then saw what I presume to be the owner of the pub come out of the kitchen and go over to the boys, pick the garage up and snatch the cars out of their hands. I for a split second thought she may be bringing it through to where we were sitting but no she took it away out the back. I'm sorry but don't put toys out and then take then of the kids when they play with them and if you're going to do that come and explain to the parents what you're doing first and why because my blood level went through the roof at the sight of her snatching toy cars off my child bloody awful lady and as looking as she remains the owner we will never set foot in the pub again and will spread this around to everyone we know. Left our paid for round it was that awful and went to the Admirals Arm which was very welcoming to both dogs and kids

We chose this venue for our works Christmas Dinner Party, as it was a small local venue that we knew was being transformed by the new owner Debbie, We arrived half an hour before our table(s) were booked to enjoy pre-dinner drinks and was greeted by Debbie and her staff and shown to the small restaurant area with glowing open fire roaring away and found we had it all to ourselves, so plenty of space. We had pre -ordered our menu choices from their varied Christmas menu and were sat down right on time, and thoroughly enjoyed a feast fit for a King, plenty of everything including extra veg. Our Group had home made pate, prawn cocktails, and Garlic Mushrooms as starters, followed by Traditional Roast Turkey with trimmings, Roast Beef and Dover Sole stuffed with prawns and Scallops, Deserts were traditional Christmas pudding with either Cream, Ice Cream or custard or all if you wanted it ! Home made cheesecake, or Home made apple crumble, this followed by a massive selection of Cheese and biscuits, then mince pies and to finish Coffee and a platter of assorted mints. The whole lot was absolutely fantastic and our people were saying book it for next year now ! we found they had a good selection of wines, spirits and real ales and all were very reasonably priced. There were 10 in our party and the set 5 course meal was £15.95 per head, the cheese platter extra, our drinks bill came to around £100 and included wines, spirits, beers and soft drinks, fantastic value and highly recommended. Will we be back, you bet we will.
