The Ferry House Inn in Swale

What a drive down the road like a switch back railway . But the place is idyllic . Just quiet and peaceful . We popped in for a walk and lunch . Sam the waitress was friendly and helpful . The menus different , the food superb , a very beautiful setting , next visit will stay over . Wonderful

This was my annual Bday mea.We were greeted by hostess with the mostest Susie. What a fabulous afternoon with soft music and impeccable clean wonderful cosy atmosphere and surroundings. I had expressed to Susie mu disappointment at menu change and long wait but she was incredibly helpful and had come to speak to us . Susie was professional , helpful when one of the main organisers wasn't around ( due to one of the attendees breaking down on way to venue) she was able to bring preorder out and help us. We had one ASD child who was finding things difficult, she was reassuring and incredibly attentive. ELWE also had two elderly in out party of 9 and she was ensuring they were comfortable. I have known Susie for a few years at the Ferry Inn she is an asset to the team. She was and is everything a good manager should be.

Wonderful meal at a truly memorable location. A fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Lovely welcome from the manager when we entered and we were well looked after throughout our meal.

Had a delicious roast beef dinner, generous portion of good quality food. Service was excellent from friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be returning 😄

We enjoyed a fantastic Sunday Dinner at the Ferry House. The restaurant is in a lovely location overlooking the Swale. We were greeted on arrival by very pleasant staff. The food was very enjoyable and served at a relaxed pace making our visit feel extremely enjoyable. The only issue is the approach road which is mostly single track and extremely bumpy.

Delicious fresh and tasty food, lovely setting, with a welcoming atmosphere and staff. Enjoyed a walk around the kitchen garden seeing all the vegetables they grow.

If you’re looking for a perfect wedding, in a perfect beautiful venue with picturesque scenery accompanied by delicious food, then The Ferry House is for you! My husband and I got married here this week and everything from start to finish has been perfect. The help and support from the Team in every wedding aspect has been excellent. Every single individual we’ve had contact with, have provided friendly professional service, nothing was ever too much for them. We stayed the night of our wedding and so did other family members and everyone has commented on how lovely the venue is, how clean and welcoming the rooms are and how good the food was too. I cannot thank everyone enough for helping us celebrate our special day, but an extra heartfelt thanks must go to Maxine and Chloe. xxx

Always a wonderful experience to dine here! Staff are always very attentive and food is always superb. Had the most amazing amaretto sour, which the mixologist kindly prepared, despite it not being on the menu. I sometimes visit for work purposes and the organisation and attention to detail is always second to none.

2nd time for me for lunch this summer. It was brilliant, lovely views, excellent views , scrumptious food. Our waitress was very professional but very friendly and knowledgeable. Food presentation was very good and tasty. Not cheap but well worth it. Not a extensive menu as it is small plates but the portions did the trick. Well worth the drive.

Stayed here as my goddaughter was getting married. What a beautiful place. Views were lovely, staff were amazing, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Went to Harty for lunch today, have been here a number of times, ordered everything from the small plates menu. It was fantastic. Not cheap but all the food was fresh from their gardens, 3 of us went and we all enjoyed it very much. The staff as always were lovely, the views across the estuary are beautiful and it really is a place to go for a treat. This is the second time we've visited in the last week!

We had the tasting menu lunch & were delighted with everything we ate! Good variety of dishes, beautifully prepared & presented, from ingredients mostly grown on site - what's not to like!! It's certainly worth having a wander round the kitchen garden, (either before, or after one's meal), which is laid out & maintained on a very impressive scale & makes clear how much the kitchens rely on their own produce. The three mile drive across the Harty marshes is spectacular & puts one in the right frame of mind even before arriving at the Ferry House itself, with it's attractively decorated interior & superb views out across the Swale.......

What a great place, amazing views, lovely building. Good food and drink. Only issue with the benefit of being secluded is it's far off the beaten track. You will never get a taxi home so be prepared.

Friendly attentive staff serving delicious food. The location is fantastic with lovely views and a nice trail walk to the beach. Ample walking routes around. Would highly recommend a visit. (We didn’t stay only came for lunch).

This is our second time coming here, love staying here, it is situated at the end if a very winding track, lovely rolling fields with wildlife everywhere

We used The Ferry House as the venue for my daughters wedding and we were not disappointed. The venue, the staff, the food, the service and the rooms surpassed all expectations by a long long way. What an amazing venue, highly recommended, every member of the wedding party commented to me how good it was and what a great choice. Yeah its a little bit out of the way and the road in is a bit rough but, that just ads to the charm. Thank you to all the staff, you were all fantastic. Adam Carter.

Here for my daughter's wedding so overnight stay as part of the package. I cannot fault the whole experience from checking in to the impeccable wedding organisation ( thank you Maxine and team) to the total courtesy and customer focused service throughout our stay. Room was excellent, clean and comfortable (Riverside King) and nice little touches like carrot cake and fresh milk in the room . We can’t speak highly enough of the Ferry House Inn, and we're so pleased to have had it as our wedding venue. From viewing and booking the venue, to planning and having the wedding, the team of co-ordinators kept us regularly informed and prepared for the next stage of the wedding. Samantha, Beth and Chloe were our coordinators on the day and were simply brilliant at taking care of everything so that we could relax and enjoy the day. The food is utterly delicious, sourced locally, and served by attentive staff. Susie, Alex and Charlotte were excellent behind the bar. The on-site accommodation and nearby cottages are well-equipped and have a rustic charm, meaning that guests can stay very nearby for the wedding. We had an incredible day and would recommend the Ferry House Inn without hesitation. We'd give it 6 stars if we could!

What a wonderful weekend. Staff were amazing and so courteous and helpful. Rooms were super clean with large comfy beds and spacious en suites. The lodges were equally lush with welcome baskets. A warm and cosy atmosphere for an intimate wedding. Food was exceptional ….breakfasts, lunches and evening meals were fresh and sourced from Ferry Inn’s own farm. I would certainly recommend this venue for a stay or for a lunch or dinner. I would happily stay again!

We chose this Inn as it was a Sawday special place. The food and staff were really excellent and we had a lot of fun. View from room 2 overlooking the water is magical in the morning even in cloudy weather and the marsh birds give their unique call to the day.

What a wonderful place. Came here for a family lunch after seeing it advertised in a magazine and it didn’t disappoint. We were made to feel welcome and comfortable as soon as we walked in. Excellent service and staff were attentive and knowledgable of all the dishes to give us some advice. Nothing was too much trouble. I had duck en croute for starter, followed by duck wellington and treacle tart. Absolutely delicious. All food is fresh, locally produced and cooked clearly with a passion for food and flavours. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed with an open fire burning. Decor is to a high standard both inside and out. It’s off the beaten track so it’s very peaceful. The views are amazing across the Estuary and plenty of outside seating to take your drinks and sit, relax and enjoy the scenery. Will definitely come back and cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. Great for walkers and cyclists to stop off and have a drink.

We went for a 3 hour walk from the Ferry House, Swale Nature Reserve, Shellness, Leysdown and back via farmland on the Harty trail. Sunday lunch was delicious, staff welcoming and attentive. Fires lit for relaxing after. Could not fault it and will definitely return. Beautiful day and stunning views and sunset as we were leaving. Well done everyone keep doing what you’re doing 👏🏻

This is in a superb wild location with great views over the estuary and plenty of birds. The staff were attentive and the pub/restaurant was welcoming. The menu was very small and if staying more than one night it would have been a bit restrictive. The dinner was good although not outstanding but was made with fresh local ingredients. Breakfast was lovely with home made sausages and bacon. The rooms were fresh, new, clean and beds comfortable. Dog friendly with a £20 charge.

Went for Sunday lunch to see what it was like. Everything was delicious with attention to presentation with high quality ingredients. The service was great. Will be returning to stay over as it was so nice.

I booked the Ferry House Inn for dinner for my fiance's 30th birthday and I am so pleased I did! We ordered from the festive menu and we were not disappointed! The waitress was really attentive and knowledgeable about the food. We loved that a lot of the food was grown locally or on site. The waitress explained each dish and the food was absolutely incredible! The home-made butter was delicious and the soup, celeriac and hake were some of the best food we've ever eaten! We were offered some of the Ferry House's sloe gin after our meal which was lovely. Would highly recommend the Ferry House Inn for an amazing dinner!

We attended a wedding and stayed in one of the coach house rooms. The room was ideal - really convenient to stay at the venue, comfy bed, nice and dark and a gorgeous copper bath. Breakfast was disappointing - there just wasn't enough meat, would be better served to order so people weren't left without. The venue itself is gorgeous. Beautifully lit, gorgeous barn and the hog roast and cake was delicious. Bring bug spray!

My daughter and son in law were married here last week. The service from the first appointment to leaving the following morning after the ceremony was second to none. The facilities, rooms, scenery, grounds, etc are perfect and the whole wedding was magical. The food was good, the DJ for the evening was amazing and all staff were incredible.
