Fantastic pub! Very dog friendly and great welcome, there was 6 of us with 5 Basset hounds, we all ordered different mains and desserts, Food was served freshly cooked and hot, and was delicious! Friendly service and very welcoming, will definitely be returning soon Thank you for a great meal and great service

An old favourite pub of mine, stuck out in the middle of the glorious Kent countryside and yet very close to the A2/ M2 motorways. Some of the old original features of the pub have been retained whilst externally from the street there is little sign of the modernization that has happened in the last decades. This subtlety adds to the mysteque if you visit for the first time. Lovely pub food is served by friendly staff and the beer/ wine selection is good too.

Not been for a while so booked for Sunday lunch. Really good to see a pub that has not put its prices up to £20 for a main. Sunday roasts were priced at £12.50 so really great value. Staff were very friendly, dogs were welcome, food was really nice and the desserts were amazing!! Would highly recommend

Lovely quintessential English pub with an atmosphere and aroma to boot. Lovely simple menu with good honest prices. Various roasts and bar snacks. Their cheese board was superb. As a driver I was pleased with their selection of alcohol free beers and ciders. It's a little, just a little, off the beaten track but this adds to its attraction.

A great pub in a lovely part of Kent. Well worth a visit. We popped in on a sunny Sunday afternoon and sat in the beer garden. There were plenty of benches, some in the sun and some in the shade. There was also a covered area and is both dog and child friendly. The inside had plenty of character, the bar staff were nice and offered to help carry some of the drinks for us and there was a good selection of Shepherd Neame beers. I opted for a pint of Bear Island...so good I had to have another!! There were also benches in front of the pub which were full of customers enjoying the sunshine. Definitely recommend.

Five of us came for an evening meal when our daughter was home from university. It was pie night, which two of us enjoyed. The others enjoyed a selection from the main menu. All the food was excellent, including desserts. Service was prompt, personal and very friendly. A lovely atmosphere and will definitely be back. Would highly recommend.

Private room with a fork buffet was arranged for a family get together - age range from 5 ton 92. The staff were geared up to be welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The buffet was good quality and there was flexibility, demonstrated when the youngsters wanted more chips! The food was a broad array whereby everyone was happy and the socialising continued with a calm and friendly atmosphere, made possible by discreet and attentive service. Highly recommended. Good parking, nice array of beers, attentive staff.

Went for meal and a theatre happening; both enjoyable. And again on 23/4/23. Jonny Fluffypunk was very funny visiting poet.

A wonderful lunch in a real country pub. This was our third lunch visit over the last year and we were not disappointed. This was our first visit on a Sunday and the roast lunch lived up to our expectations. Despite being very busy, the staff remained as efficient and friendly as ever.

Went for lunch here after a walk in the woods and was so lovely, the service (lovely happy lady), the atmosphere, the setting and the food just topped it off. The quality and quality was something else!! It was served in good timing and presented really well. Top top marks!! Gutted we heard the burns night was on the day we went for lunch as we would have definitely come back for that evening! Maybe next year though! Thank you for making our afternoon!

We were looking for a lunchtime place to eat and drink and we saw a sign for The White Lion, we followed it for a mile or so and were delighted to find this truly wonderful place, the decor was so welcoming and the staff were how you would want them to be, so friendly, warm and welcoming (especially a great lad named Blue !!!!) the food was simply delicious and the prices were as cheap as I have seen anywhere, I cannot praise this place highly enough and if you are near then pay The White Lion a visit, we will return without doubt, thank you all for a lovely visit and we look forward to seeing you again...fantastic !!!!!!!

the first time we went there it was a fab meal, but not so today, i had a gammon steak which was fatty, and the salad that was served with it would have been nicer yesterday.

Lovely pub. Very good service. The food is not the best but this is reflected in the price. However, we did enjoy our meal and will return.

We have spent 5 nights at this hotel and were delighted. The staff is lovely and the food excellent. If like us you have dogs ask for room 1 as the room comes with a lovely shaded and fenced courtyard. The building is really beautiful and the attention to details is appreciated. We had a lovely stay and would definitely come back.

A great pub, lots of indoor and outdoor spaces. The road is not very busy so it's a great place to sit out and relax. Friendly staff. Good range of options for food, which both the burger and baguette we had were very tasty and good quality. Highly recommended if you are in the area or like us go out for a walk and head there for a pint and lunch.

We went on a lovely circular walk from this pub on a visit to the area, and it was just beautiful! Country lanes, fields, beautiful views, just lovely. Arriving at the pub, they accommodated our group of 9 and we sat in the garden as it was such lovely weather. A great choice of yummy food, friendly service, and it seems as though a good group of locals go regularly which was nice to see.

This is a nice country pub with friendly bar staff....open fire....cosy atmosphere and decent beer at a reasonable price....so why the three star rating? I had a Sunday roast here recently (beef) and although the vegetables were fine, I could not even cut the beef and that part of a £12 meal was inedible. I paid the full amount but in hindsight should have sent the meal back.....we live and learn! The most disappointing part was that the publican (sitting at the bar) did not offer an alternative or to reduce the price and did not even offer an apology; his passing shot as I left being 'Yes we have had problems with our butcher supplies lately' . It was only later that I thought that my reply should have been 'Well if thats that case, why have you not changed your supplier?' and 'If you know there is a problem with the meat, why does somebody in the kitchen not sample it before plating it up and taking it to the table?' We all work hard for our money and to pay £12 for a meal that is inedible with no apology does not sit easy with anybody. Perhaps the pub has enough local trade not to worry about a one off visit? Whatever way you look at it though, thats bad business practice as I was in the area for four weeks and would have probably have spent in excess of £200 in that time if I had been dealt with more reasonably. Instead I spent that money in other pubs around the area. Thats the White Lions loss!

The White Lion were the most superb hosts for my dad’s birthday lunch today. Lovely celebration with 23 close friends and family enjoying a shared roast dinner with plenty of wine, Prosecco and cake. The staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly- they helped to make it the happiest of times, thanks to them all.

Good food and service reasonably priced

All perfect! We are a group of 15 walkers, beginning and finishing our walk from this pub today. From ordering the food (lots of choice) to the friendly, helpful service, and the efficient way our different orders were dealt with, we couldn’t ask for more. We love coming to this pub. It’s very consistent in its standard of delicious food, service, etc. Can’t wait to return!

Stopped for light bites and drinks after local walk. Very friendly service, extremely dog friendly (including dog treats) and a good selection of menu options, served quickly. Short distance from Perry Wood park. First visit but we'll return based on this experience.

Amazing well priced food from such a nice village pub.

They have an extensive menu which may work against them. The stuffed squid was tough/rubbery although the filling was tasty. Scotch egg was way overdone, calamari ok ish but the batter was soggy rather than nice and crispy and the crab cake just not crabby...

We had a birthday gathering at the White lion and it was all lovely from the food to the setting. Staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Facilities were all lovely and clean and the garden was nice for the children to run off some energy. Food was beautiful.

Interesting menu. There are standard pub dishes but also interesting other dishes. Nicely cooked and fairly priced.

This is a fantastic pub. The food is great quality and the drinks choice is great. There is a lovely beer garden and the staff here are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. The pub quiz is great fun and highly recommend pie night.
