Spontaneous lunch with partner! Food was tasty enough but my chicken in my chicken and bacon salad was luke warm which really concerned me on a hot day and my partners hunters chicken looked like a child's portion!!! Not great value for £30! Have never been disappointed before today! Won't be keen to return!

First overnight stay in Sittingbourne- was recommended to visit by my friend who's a local! The staff were so friendly and I enjoyed the hot food with that came with gravy AND chips- great value for money compared to London!

We visited the restaurant as part of a large group booking of 20. No wait for a table as we had pre booked. To their credit, the wait time for both food and drinks was reasonable despite the size of our party, which we appreciated. That said, there were a few issues that took away from the overall experience. One drink was missing, we had ordered seven Pepsis but only received six. The staff member giving us the drinks told us that we had only ordered six, even though the receipt clearly showed seven. Once we proved this we then received the missing drink. The food was a mixed bag. Some dishes were okay, but quite a few were overcooked, particularly the meats in the burgers and mixed grills, which were more burnt than grilled. The cheesy garlic bread was especially disappointing: no visible cheese and very dry and burnt. We also ordered wings, 10 piri piri and 5 BBQ, but the order received was incorrect. When we pointed this out and asked for the missing 5 piri piri wings, they agreed and then a couple minutes later they told us that we need to pay for them again which we did, despite the mistake being on their end. While we understand that errors can happen especially with a large booking, it was disappointing how the situation was handled. When it came to dessert, the ice creams were supposed to come with two wafers, but each arrived with only one. It might seem like a minor detail, but when you're paying for a product and don’t receive it as described, it’s fair to mention. It’s the small things that add up to the overall experience. The staff were professional in their communication, although their overall demeanour came across as disinterested and unenthusiastic. There was a noticeable level of sarcasm in some responses, and visible eye rolls when we answered their questions. While we recognise that large group bookings can be challenging, the attitude began before any issues had even occurred, which made the atmosphere feel less welcoming than it could have been. I will say that one member of staff with brunette hair, didn’t catch her name, is not included in the above, she was polite smiling and could not fault her service at all. Overall, while the service was prompt and the basics were covered, the food quality and handling of customer concerns left room for improvement. To be clear, this review isn't written to simply complain or be a “negative Nancy,” but to reflect honestly on the experience we had and to inform others of what they might expect. We hope it helps both potential customers and the restaurant in improving the service they provide

Amazing experience at the Jenny wren last Tuesday! Had Katie G serve me at the bar! She was very welcoming and chatty. Owen and Charleigh were the chefs and I must say the food was phenomenal! I ordered the katsu chicken burger & the sirloin steak americano! Will be returning

I ordered the ribs and chicken platter & also a mega burger which was made by Charleigh and Owen! Couldn’t recommend anymore!!

The Jenny wren is such an amazing pub! Went with a group of 10 and there was no wait to be seated by Karen! We all ordered separately and was served by either Katie or Kelly who smashed through our orders and got them all to come out together! Charleigh and Owen cooked our meals and I have 0 complaints! Will definitely be returning and I'm sure all my friends agree!!

Working local and only a 3 minute drive from my accommodation, I thought I would try the Jenny Wren for dinner. I was not disappointed! I was taken to a table immediately and scoured the menu. Then, I scanned the QR code on the table and ordered my food. I chose the Surf and Turf, Sirloin steak with Peppercorn sauce ( medium/rare ). My drink came out 5 minutes later, and my food turned up a further 10 minutes after. It was quite busy in there so was pleased I didn't have to wait too long. The steak was cooked to perfection and no fat on it. Chips were a reasonable portion and niceand the scampi was lovely to. All in all, a good meal. I will be returning Sunday to try their Sunday roast.

Had such a fun night at the quiz this week. Enjoyed by all of my family. Great food and the staff were all lovely. It was nice to get our local mentioned during the quiz , which we won for the 2nd week running, much to our surprise! We will be back! 🥂

Try the dirty burger it's so nice

We came on bh Monday, mid day, there were to girls chatting by door as we arrived, when they aknowledged us, they said "sit whever you like" At that time there were maybe 4 tables occupied.we tried placing an order with skin on fries, however, this item was out if stock, we asked the disgruntled lady behind the bar (appeared a Manager/Supervisor), for ordinary fries, " only do fat chips ",was her abrupt response. The weather was very cold, and even colder inside, we asked the waitress if it was possible to turn the air-conditioning off,she appeared to state that they have no control over the restaurant temperature, so we remain in our coats throughout our meal, along with an adjacent table.we ordered x2 meals from ' pub classics', and x2 from the lunchtime menu. Once it arrived, it became apparent that only x1 of our meals were satisfactory,in our oppinion. On the lunchtime snacks (x2 cheese and pickle sandwiches, with chips). The bread was very stale and dry, no butter, a tasteless/very small amount of cheese, and a very sweet pickle. We sent x1 back to be replaced, and the other was left. It appeared the sandwiches are served with no more than 10 chips per portion. We also ordered a pie, the meat inside was fatty and like elastic, this was also left. Needless to say, after a cold and frosty reception and venue, we had no desserts or further drinks and left. The whole venue, in all our oppinions was that the members of staff had zero interest in being there, the cook was happy to send out below poor simple food, and the overall experience was the worst I've experienced on a meal out in sometime.

Food used to be good we spent over £300 which isn't the issue it was just not nice and there was 9 of us and none of us were happy, it's a shame as it used to be nice

Been a few times in the past and always stick to same meal but although prices have increased over time it always seems portion sizes seem to stay same or actually shrink, I always have hunters chicken but never eat the little bit of salad or two onion rings so would be nice to have an alternative option to those. I had chocolate fudge cake with ice cream for after which was really disappointing pudding was barely warm and was really dry and sauce was really thick and stringy (like stretchy cheese) so wasn’t overly satisfied and found myself having something else to eat when returning home. When your on a budget it’s hard to find somewhere for the family to eat that’s value for money but would rather stick to McDonald’s as I know I’m getting better value regarding portion size

Very popular place, tables cleared very quickly, booked and was able to sit on time booked. Excellent service, ordered via app, had the ease of just sitting enjoying the evening, without queuing at bar. Excellent food, and hot on arrival

Prawn cocktail didn't have any cucumber in but on menu it states it's in it disappointing other meal was really good

Been there a few times over the past couple of months at lunchtime and in the evenings. When ordering the gammon it's a good meal. When ordering steaks it's been hit and miss. Previously ordered a medium to well steak, it came out almost rare. Last night I ordered medium to well, it came out very well done and bone dry. Cheesy chips were not hot and yep, grated cheddar sprinkled over the top won't melt if the food under it is under temp. Peas cold, mushrooms tiny, shrivelled and barely warm. Plate was red hot so that had been sat on a hot maison place for too long. Deserts were great once the 20 minute wait for the dinner plates were eventually taken away. Why do I keep going back? Only because we have a 20% off voucher to use each time. Chef either needs help, training or advise and guidance. In the past I was a qualified chef and a restaurant manager so I don't feel bad writing any of this. Some of the staff delivering food and drinks need a tidy up as well. Look like they just got up from the couch including the one who appears to be in charge.

Went for a family Sunday dinner for 7 people. Staff were pleasant enough except 1 waitress that backed into my broken leg & very nearly sent me flying 😡. Decor is dated & the furniture mismatched. When the food arrived all 7 meals were sent back as they were all stone cold. When they came back they were only tepid! Then when 5 desserts were ordered only 4 were delivered, until the manageress was reminded about the missing dessert 10 minutes later. All in all a disappointing meal for all 7. The company was great however the food & the service get a big thumbs down from me, I definitely won't be going to the Jenny Wren again.

Staff were very friendly, greeted us on the way in and fast service. I used the QR code to order which was convenient as we had our baby with us. Food came out in a prompt time however; one dish was the £22.99 platter for 1 which we didn't really feel it was value for money, abit sparse on the chicken and fries and would of got a higher volume if ordered something cheaper - burger and chips £13.99. The large plate made it appear more than what it was. However, this hasn't affected our overall outlook on our experience as it was all delicious. We do have older children, which we wouldn't necessarily bring, even though there's things to keep children entertained it's not big enough - the playground which can get full very fast! When we go out as a family we tend to go up to the bobbin - I understand it's difficult to compete, please everyone and space / health and safety is a big factor! Anyhow, this is a little gem for Sittingbourne! Thank you!

We went for a roast beef meal after reading Jenny Wren's advert... 'We think our Chefs serve the best Sunday lunch in Sittingbourne piled high with ruffled roasties, seasonal vegetables, melt-in-the-mouth meats, and don’t forget homemade Yorkshire puddings. 'Oh dear, nothing like the description, all roasts are one size, so we expected generous, but not massive. Each plate had 4 very small pieces of roast potato, if you could call them that. 2 small to medium slices of overcooked beef, a reasonable to small amount of veg and a teaspoon of horseradish sauce. A dessert size spoon of mash and very thin gravy. We ordered a pepperoni adult pizza for our granddaughter that came with no pepperoni on it. The waitress looked up dismissingly when we explained we did not order margherita, the pizza was taken back and return in a couple of minutes with 9 small slices of pepperoni on it. The outside edges of the pizza were cold, so it was obvious, this was just altered and maybe heated for a minute or so. My husband's chair looked if as if it have been attacked by someone with a knife and the table was sticky. At no point did anyone ask if all was ok, nor did anyone say sorry about the pizza. We were going to stay for dessert, but glad we did not order it with our main. We ate the food, leaving us underwhelmed and left. Prior to me being unwell, we used to go to the Jenny Wren fairly often. Sadly, we feel it has gone downhill and would not recommend it.

Just popped into the Jenny Wren to use the 30% off, offer. Have to say it’s amazing value for money. Our waitress Hannah couldn’t have been more helpful or attentive. Really helpful and brought out good and drinks over really quickly. She couldn’t have done more to help us. The food we had was top notch too. Cracking burger and cauliflower kebab. Couldn’t fault it. Overall a brilliant experience and if all staff are as good as Hannah then all customers should be well happy

we were received as valued customers, the staff were polite, courteous and efficient, the food was prompt, hot and tasty.

Went here for some lunch and spent £42 on 2 meals and 2 pepsis. The chips and onion rings were excellent, unfortunately that's where it stops. I had a mixed grill and the meat was all badly overdone, the gammon was like a leather flip flop, the sausages were burnt, the steak was supposed to be medium well and was very very well done and the chicken was solid and insanely dry. My wife had a steak and asked for rare and that was medium. Bare in mind this was at 11.30a.m so there was no one else in the place, so it's not a case of the kitchen being overwhelmed and rushing food. There were also tables that had rubbish on them and we had to find a table that looked relatively clean. There were quite a few staff members there so it's odd that it wasn't in a clean state and really the chef should have had the time to cook the food properly (or at least check it!? Also when I placed the order, I was asked what sauce I wanted from a few choices so I made a choice of what was offered. What I didn't realise is that this was a paid for extra for £2 for a tiny serving. Had I know that or been asked if I'd like any extras etc I would have said no. This was the first time I've been here after passing it a fair amount and based on this I won't go back and will also make sure to tell people to avoid it if they value the money they have.

Christmas dinner - very expensive but understandable for Xmas day. Food was so so a little disappointing with some basic things making it more like school dinners (gravy added to plate before serving and custard added to crumble before serving) not a big deal but it's not hard to serve and let you decide if and how much you would like, all food was just ok 5/10 but staff were great and working on Christmas day is quite something, thanks again it was nice evening even if the food just ok overall 8/10.

Just got back from our Christmas dinner and it was a perfect!! Salmon and prawn starter and full turkey dinner with all the trimmings , berry crumble was to die for with cheese and biscuits to finish absolutely bang on !! poor experience, there were only 2 tables having food, generally very quiet but still we were waiting 50 min for food. one person got the wrong dish served but the kitchen was able to rectify the mistake in 5 min :/ . Average food quality, I would be better off in Weterspoon and pay half price for all as it is expensive pub food. I would not recommend this place . The staff make me feel that I'm doing something wrong complaining about the waiting time. One of the girls at the bar said that it was my fault as I did not chase.

Tables are always sticky, as is the bar. Food is overpriced for what it is. Basic pub grub. Staff are friendly enough but felt last time I was there they prioritised local regulars over myself. But on the whole it’s not great but not bad. Just please clean the tables!

Had our 2nd Christmas meal. Nice and convenient location from our office and well priced good quality food. Will be back for our Christmas meal next year.

What can I say about the Jenny Wren, apart from, Karen. If she is working, There is always a cheery, genuine hello to our family, and she even remembers the kids names! As well as quick and efficient service, which we always love when taking our bunch out! She's just a gem. It's like eating out at home when Karen is working
