Had a beautiful meal with my wife for our anniversary. The food was excellent, I had the chipotle duck tacos, and the service was great too. Gluten free options were available for wifey too. Highly recommended

I visited here during the week in the evening. There was a really nice atmosphere, not too busy and service was good. They asked if we had any dietary requirements or aperture which I was impressed by. We both ordered fajitas which were tasty- only took away one star as it would’ve been good to have more wraps/sauces. Overall very good.

Decided to try this Shepherd Neame restaurant as a birthday treat as it was listed as one of the pubs on the birthday club. We were both very impressed with the location and the ambiance of the pub. The fajitas were excellent I chose duck and my partner chose steak which was incredibly tender. Very generous portions of filling including sour cream, salsa, guacamole, cheese, lettuce, onions, jalapeno, peppers, yum yum so many different flavours. We also had a portion of chips between the two of us, not that we needed them but some of the nicest chips we have tasted. Overall a very enjoyable experience we will certainly be returning and will recommend to family and friends. ,

A gorgeous pub on the Creek. Myself, the hubster and our friends went for our 2nd lunch together today. The friends had ribs, which looked amazing! Hubster had the classic beef burger and I has the grilled chicken caesar burger. Everyone enjoyed, but personally I lived the chicken burger. Chips are skin on chips which were really nice and ever so slightly salted. Staff were attentive, but not in your face. A lovely place for lunch or dinner. Highly recommended.

Great little place, well hidden. But unfortunately what you would pay for nachos anywhere else for around 6-8 pound, in here they are £14, more nachos than anything else and very over priced. Chicken fajitas the chicken was dry, and very under seasoned very disappointing to be honest, my wife had the chicken Veracruz again chicken very dry. Such a shame as nice little place tucked away around the corner from where we live but very overpriced for mediocre food.

Lovely pub, have been there a few times and always enjoyed my meals. This time it wasn’t good at all. A starter of six calamari rings where the batter was barely cooked and fell off as soon as you picked it up, followed by gristly steak fajitas with no flavour or spice. We mentioned it to the staff and got a ‘sorry about that’. Just a bit disappointing for a rare night out with the hubby!

Delightful texmex restaurant, great atmosphere and delicious food. Service was friendly and prompt. I think the tortillas should have been bigger: too small for fajitas, and a bit more spice would have been more authentic, but these are small points.

The most frustrating thing about the Albion is its complete lack of consistency. The last time I had a meal there it was fantastic, steak fajitas melted in your mouth and great drinks too… this time however the steak was gristly, over cooked, none of the vegetables were cooked properly and the cocktails were shocking, the kind of pre-made ones you get on the train, the beer was also semi flat. Starter of guacamole was great apart from the bowl of broken nachos, like what you get at the bottom of a bag. Unlikely we’ll be back again.

We were a group of four and booked a table at lunch time. The Taverna is quaint and situated next to the creek. There is a car park and ample street parking close by. Service was good and we ordered a mix of burritos and fajitas. There was a bit of a wait , we didn’t mind too much as we’re not in a hurry, as the place was quite busy . The lady who served us was as polite and efficient as possible at a busy time. When the food arrived it was well presented and very tasty. My fajita was full of tasty chicken and there were two sauces to accompany , one of which had a bit of a spicy kick. We agreed the price was reasonable and look forward to returning soon.

I found the food to be very basic, initially, I wanted a fish dish, but seemingly the fish had been sold out. So I ordered a (Mexican dish) Bean chilly pot, which combined some rice with beans on top, with a few burritos and a very 'anaemic' looking guacamole which had no tomatoes or onion... And this was the main meal, really I've had better from a street vendor in Mexico. For a starter, we had Guacamole and salsa, which arrived half an hour late. Again nothing really special... My partner had a Vegan Burger, when I asked the waitress if the burger was homemade, she said that the ingredients had been decided on by the chef but the burger had been made elsewhere ??? Strange to say the least! (Does it take that much to knock up a ' Vegan/vegetarian burger in the kitchen, something any qualified chef could do blindfolded... As for the chips, they arrived cold and not handmade, they were somewhat similar to what one would have found in (Wetherspoons). The waitress was charming, polite and very helpful which made the evening less tiresome. On the whole, the cost (£53. 90) of the meal including one glass of wine and a glass and a half of beer was excessive, considering the quality of the food wasn't that special and a far cry from what I would call Authentic Mexican. Needless to say I will not be coming back.

Came here for dinner on a Friday night and it was fairly buzzing. Staff were attentive, had taken note of the comment on my booking that my partner is a coeliac and were happy to go through the menu with her. The food is hearty fare with a mainly mexican theme. Mixed tacos were not too bad but could do with a little more flavour. Nachos were decent too. The ribs were tender and tasty, the fries were nicely done and the sweetcorn juicy. Overall a good solid place to come for a no nonsense feed.

Just came out, the food was terribly bland all around. Started with the prawn starter and the prawns was flavourless and very over cooked. Had 2 steaks both very chewy and the chips where swimming in grease peppercorn sauce was basically water and when you pay £22.50 for a steak there’s got to be some standards. Had the fajitas and there was next to no seasonings on the chicken, for £22! Awful and won’t be going back again! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I took my family, (wife and 4 young children) for dinner. Firstly, the reception from the manager was very welcoming, I think his name was Dan. But on top of that, the food we all ordered was perfect, and my children are not easily pleased! I had the smokehouse burger, my wife had the vegetarian fajitas, and the kids all enjoyed their food from the kid's menu. What more can you ask for?! Another employee, I believe another Dan, was also super helpful, both looked after us without fuss. I was expecting the pub to be busy even though it was a Tuesday night but the weather was really good. We arrived and met our friends and went to our table. The service was incredibly slow and the waitress was not interested. We ordered three soups and a calamari, the soup was :- Salmon, cod, smoked haddock and mussels, spicy tomato and coconut broth, sourdough and chilli butter, that is a copy from their website, so excuse the spelling mistake. It arrived as half a bowl of stodge, there were 4 mussels but I don't think anyone found any identifiable pieces of fish, we had to ask for the bread, which turned out to be a normal french stick, not toasted with what appeared to be margarine over the top. The calamari : - Sliced red chilli, capers, fried sage and lemon & garlic aioli, (again copy and pasted) the calamari was cooked well but there was no alioli. We all went for the salad:- Mexican inspired grilled chicken salad (996 kcal) Chipotle cauliflower, red onions, peppers, tomato, corn & bean salad, coriander, rocket, garlic & lemon oil. This was ok but the chicken was slightly overcooked and the red onion were huge chunks with all the root still attached. The dressing was quite overpowering, but that could be a personal taste issue. Whilst we should have complained at the time when you are with friends it is difficult. We have used this pub several times in the past but we will not be returning

Our visit was unplanned, but with the pubs in the middle of town full on a busy Sunday we headed here instead. The service was really friendly, just a little slow, and food was tasty. Although the quality of some bits could be better, we were impressed with all the vegan trimmings for the fajitas-much better than the usual “no cheese no sour cream” situation. The portions were huge but priced accordingly at around £15 for the fajitas for one. There’s a decent outside area which is super nice, right next to the water, inside is nice too-the balance between pub and Mexican taqueria is struck well although there was a bit of an off putting musty smell. Slightly quicker service, better quality ingredients and overall attention to detail would make it 5/5. But would definitely recommend!

My son is currently lying awake in bed with a fever and sick bowl beside him having just thrown up because the chicken burger he was served here and ate was raw. When I addressed this with our waiters that evening, they were shocked and responded appropriately - offering other food, not charging for the meal or drinks and taking our contact details - so I cannot fault them for their handling of this. The fault lays wholly on the kitchen staff. I would add that we found our other mains (duck and chicken fajitas) relatively bland but to send out a chicken burger so raw is just appalling. This was a meal out to celebrate my birthday and having been for a drink in the pub once or twice before, was keen to try out the food. We have since received a follow up email once again apologizing, checking all was ok and to state the chef was mortified (not enough to come to the table and apologise in person) and that they hoped the experience hadn't put us off going back. Unfortunately, it has and we will not be returning.

Sadly our once much visited local has not only gone downhill but the manager doesn’t even cater to customers who sit outside. Having seen Brazilian soup a week previously with chunks of fish, I resolved to buy it but I was just delivered a soup base with no fish at all, just mussels. It tasted OK and I ate most of it but it most certainly wasn’t fish soup. This was pointed out to the manager who couldn’t even be bothered to come out to explain what had gone wrong. We tried again and apparently he couldn’t do anything because I had eaten it. We weren’t after refunds or a free anything, but he simply neither cared nor listened. They proceeded to explain that they don’t check outside to see if customers are OK. Says it all really. Our beloved tacos have gone, prices have rocketed but service and food have headed north. We are very disappointed and feel cheated.
