5* service for a lovely Tuesday lunch! I was kindly recommended the sirloin by our server Louise C. Food was so yummy, and was able to enjoy as I was given new cutlery when I let her know about my gluten allergy. She was so helpful with recommending dishes I could have and giving me the allergy book, which was exceptional compared to usual service elsewhere. Service with a smile, had a great chat and will definitely be back.

When I ordered a takeaway at the Longhouse I was told it would be 30 minutes - I went away and came back 35 minutes later and had to wait another 40 minutes - ridiculous! The kitchen clearly cannot cope with the level of orders and the front of house staff are not honest with how long orders are going to take. This is not a one-off - it happens all the time!

Booked a table at 3:30 for a Sunday roast, arrived well within time and got a drink before hand. At 3:30 we went in to get our table and the older lady at the bar was on the phone sorting out a holiday. She kept telling the person on the phone she was at work but still made no attempt to come off the phone. By now there was a queue of people waiting to be served, leaving one younger lady at the bar dealing with everything. By the time she came off the phone it was 3:40. We explained we had a table booked and she rudely looked at the time, huffed and told us to go to table 10, that the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes and we had to choose something to eat immediately or we would miss out. Without apologising for keeping multiple people waiting at the bar. We cannot fault the service from the other staff at the bar and the girls serving us our food were lovely

Would never visit again after my recent experience; have been here a few times; usually good and I even forgave them for a burnt omelette once before. It was busy today but we were not in a rush, so that was fine. No paninis left (at 12.20pm! ) so my daughter had a ham / cheese toastie, which was ok. No smoked salmon either so I asked for a cheese /onion toastie. It was awful, the onions were like they had been fried for a burger. Yuck. So I took it back, and one lady insisted they weren't fried (my daughter said that was the taste, too). So finally, i got an egg mayo cress sandwich. Had a nice pot of tea and a J20. The courtyard really needs a tidy up, brambles, and overgrown flowerbed. Wish I'd gone somewhere else : Think I was overcharged as welll : ( Must say though that 1 poor overworked member of staff was lovely though (lady with short hair.

We used to enjoy the cheese platter for two served in the bar area. Today we found that the platter was a shadow of what it used to be. The increased price must have done wonders for their profits, but we won’t be returning.

Popped in for a Breakfast on British Superbike event, food was very poor, cold, bacon was rock hard, egg was solid, toast was like rubber, we got very little on our paper plate to be honest, all for £10 !! Only cutlery was wooden knives & forks which couldn't cut anything apart from the paper plate. After finishing our breakfast (which didn't take long as the was not much of it), a gentleman sat at our table as we got up and his plate was overflowing with food in fact he had trouble carrying it to the table, I asked him if it was a standard breakfast and he said yes, then I noticed he was a circuit marshal, so I assume if you know the people serving you get a much better deal. Don't waste your money here it's crap.
