Beautiful historic pub. Its climate takes you back in time. Food delicious!!! Bit pricey but worth it. Bit regret they do not have bigger choice of meats - steaks, lamb etc Highly recommend it, especially beef pie which is not really my usual and favourite food it tasted delicious with extremaly tasty gravy sause. They also serve local ale - Larkins which all together makes it perfect spot for city get away weekends and week days. You can see opposite beautiful old church and see local castle.

Absolutely fantastic lunch!! My husband is a vegan and had a gorgeous full Sunday roast with a buternut squash filo roll and all the trimmings. I'm a raw vegan and the chef made me an "off menu" delicious raw salad with no fuss at all. Fantastic service from entertaining and helpful staff. Can't wait to go back!!

Awful! We had visited years ago and enjoyed so thought we’d take family. Service was ridiculously slow, they were busy which could have been forgiven if food was nice but chicken was suspect, salmon started smelt so bad we were scared to eat, tangy off smell.

I didn't eat so I can't comment on the food, I was however welcomed by a charming young lady called Kat, she didn't stop cleaning, unless she was serving someone, friendly and upbeat with everyone, totally a 10/10 staff member

Had a great meal out with my girlfriend at the Lion this evening! The food was lovely and quick, and our waitress Clare was fantastic. She was so nice and properly took care of us, whilst also having a great sense of humour! We will be coming back!

The menu has got considerably smaller with barely any choice or good lunch options. I use to love going here but it’s changed too much and barely offers any good lunch food anymore.

Food is lovely never had a problem with anything allways will be coming here every Friday 😋

2nd order here, order on 21/3 was really disappointing. Burgers not fully cooked and exceptionally salty so unpleasant to eat. Fries were way too salty. Didn't seen any option in website on how to influence the cooking of the burger or salt levels. Would think twice before using in future.

Went out for lunch with some friends and tried the Set with Chicken katsu, sweet chilli chicken and salmon! Super tasty. Fried chicken wasn’t dry at all and the aloe drinks we got were tasty as well. Staff were friendly despite it being extremely busy with school kids went we went!

Customers bunched up to suit serving staff. Bookings are all at one end presumably to suit serving staff. Too many babies and children not suitable for adult diners

Good pub food, friendly service. Can be a bit of a wait when it's really busy but that's expected.

My wife has just picked me up some southern fried chicken and it was amazing makes KFC look lame the pieces are massive and the flavour is delicious tender and crispy 10/10
