We went to the Lion for a date night. Food was lush and staff were really attentive. We had a signature burger and charcuterie pizza. :)

Lovely evening at The Lion. I had the chicken skewers which were lovely followed by sticky toffee pudding which was delicious. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Would definitely visit again and was good value for money.

Had an amazing dinner with my partner. Our waitress Clare was lovely and provided a brilliant service with her manners and helpfulness! Food was great and fast!

Amazing service as usual from Claire. Nothing is too much trouble. Always ensuring we have drinks and we always have a great laugh.

A great place to go - I have lunch or dinner here with friends as it is a good place to meet up around every other month or so and I can recommend the food, the service and the atmosphere - a lovely chilled out vibe. They are especially good about my big greyhound who likes to lie in everyone's way. Lovely in the summer for a paddle in the river.

A lovely pub by the river with lots of character. The staff were very attentive and very helpful with the menu. Great selection of gluten free options. The Sunday roast was very tasty but could have been hotter. The fish and chips was excellent.

Lovely place with a beautiful river running outside. Food was brilliant (although for my personal preference, the veg was sometimes a bit hard) but always tasted lovely. Service was also good. Would very happily go again.

First time here & and I was very impressed. Then, found out their part of the Vintage Inns group. Never had a bad meal with them & same goes here at The Lion. Had the trio of roasts, great quick & friendly service, food turned up lovely & hot. Plus, a major thing, it tasted lovely, nice crispy roasties & plenty of it. Definitely a return at some point.

Visited for companies Xmas Dinner, plenty of food and lovely juicy turkey, but dinner needed to be hotter service was friendly and efficient. Excellent beer garden next to river, must visit in the summer.

Meal was ok, paid ok, on the way out decided to have another drink. On getting the drinks, noticed there was no seats in the bar. Asked if we could sit back at the table for 10 15 mins longer they said no. Incredible. Spoiled a really nice lunch. It wasnt as if it was busy 3:45 on a wednesday but how would I know. Im just a customer.

Went in on the 3rd of December. It was the first day of their Christmas menu so there were some teething issues with the vegetables on the Christmas dinner. However the atmosphere and rest of the meal was amazing. Both the male manager and the waitress were polite and efficient.

We had the 2 course set menu and it was absolutely delicious! The beef brisket Yorkshire puddings were one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Our waitress was Clare and she was lovely and friendly as well as the manager on duty, Mark. Would 100% come again

Really lovely atmosphere, food was great, service was wonderful. Family friendly, a really lovely place that we would happily come back to. However, we were let down as we were asked to vacate our table it was reserved for another party, i think this was around 1.5hours agter we arrived? however we had planned on ordering coffees or drinks. We felt the need to rush through our deserts, and I presume if we'd had starters we wouldn't have had the option of desert! It was such a shame as we'd have liked to spend longer, I assume in the summer this is less of an issue as we could move outside to sit.

Fantastic lunch here. I had the warm scotch egg for starter and chicken skewer for main. Both dishes were very tasty and generous portions. Husband had the fishcake starter and chicken and mushroom pie. He was equally impressed.

Very dissatisfied with the meal, staff and interior. This is a building where there are lots of steps and stairs. They also allow dogs into the restaurant area. The food was cold and hard to cut.

I was with a group of dear friends for a Birthday Lunch on the 6th November. The pub was clean, warm and very tastefully decorated. We were greeted warmly and shown to our lovely table. Th service from Jannis our waiter was fantastic. He was friendly, charming and with a touch of humour. He was skilled and knowledgable about the menu and advised on our choices when asked. It was a lovely main- absolutely delicious and gorgeous dessert- quite unique!The chefs know what they are doing! Will be visiting again and will recommend to friends. Thank you x

We have just had a lovely meal at The Lion in Farningham made much more pleasant by the super efficient Jannis. He is very attentive and lots of fun!!

The bar and restaurant staff were all friendly, Jannis was amazing and very attentive, and the food was delicious. Good sized portions and tasty food that was cooked well and beautifully presented. Lovely outdoor space too. Will definitely return!

We had a great lunch on Monday, and we were happy not to be rushed, but to fair to the staff, they refunded our desserts because they felt the service was slow, nice touch but we were very happy with the service we got, will we be back.

We love this pub. Beautiful surrounds and the staff have always been polite, friendly and upbeat (even when they are busy,) Food great. We had a bit of a wait BUT it was busy and to be expected for Sunday dinner. Improvement-hard one because they'd run out of beef and lamb-we did book for 5.30 so I'm not surprised. Maybe if people are booking ahead give an option to pre book a particular roast ahead? Not sure how possible this would be though. But other than whatever you're doing it's working as we keep coming bsck

My brief experience was a negative one - very unfriendly and not willing to help a lone female who was in a troublesome situation and was unfamiliar with the area.

The Lion is our go to restaurant and this time it surpassed our expectations. The food was excellent, well presented and served with a smile by Tina The menu offers such an excellent range of foods my wife had Chicken and Mushroom Pie and I had The Prime Beef burger with brisket of beef. All top notch.

The most wonderful pub in a beautiful location. The staff are all amazing and the food is a must try, attention to detail in all aspects. Even though it's a 2 hour train journey for me I'll definitely be back. 5 stars across the board.

We had a wonderful walk around Farningham followed by a lovely early dinner at The Lion pub. Very friendly staff and great food. We had the Pie of the Day and the Signature Burger. A lovely experience and very dog friendly too.

Food was absolutely terrible today. Potatoes made of rubber. Roast beef felt like it had elastic bands running through it. The food was cold and I didn’t enjoy any of it. I would have sent it back if it wasn’t for my misses eating it while I went to the toilet. I wouldn’t eqt here again for free. Such a shame that it’s gone so downhill.

The Lamb Rump was excellent, tender and extremely flavoursome. My 3 friends all reported that they were very pleased with their respective menu selections.

The food, service and atmosphere were all very good. The prices are higher than some of the other brands of outlets owned by the same company. Car park is free but you have to enter your registration on the tablet at the bar

A special lunch made more so by Ianis and the amazing roast. Memorable birthday as all should be. The roast defeated us. Just huge and excellently cooked. We drowned every in the amazing gravy and Jannis sang Happy birthday to a stuffed and happy boy. Thank you.

Lovely old pub by the river. Lovely food and friendly staff. A little expensive but worth it for the quality and location. Lovely atmosphere inside. We sat in the bar, I would advise booking if you want to sit in the restaurant. We will be back as there is so much tasty looking food on the menu.

This was my first visit to this establishment, and the food was excellent (Belly of Pork), and our table of 8 was well looked after by the pleasant staff. Will return again, and our seasonal dinner is already booked there, so great expectations.

Having been very consistent with meal quality and service (thank you Jannis, always pleasant and helpful) We frequently come to the Lion now and have been many times over the years given location. Based on our visit I would readily recommend to friends and family. Offers emailed now and again are greatly appreciated . Our meals were well presented, generous and enjoyable as was our visit.

I've been coming to the Lion for several years now and food and service used to be awesome. I have taken visiting family members and friends there for lunch. A few times. Unfortunately the last couple of times I visited I was not impressed. Last time we had a table outside and service was super slow. Food choice not great and food itself was not to its usual standard. Parking was not easy. The place itself could do with some TLC. All added up it was not the great experience it used to be. This is saddening. I hope the owners read this and bring the place back to the standard it used to have.

Popped in the Lion today for dinner. The atmosphere was good the staff were very welcoming and polite, The food was outstanding along with the company had a few drinks & sat by the river a very busy popular place for families moderately priced will be back soon guys thanks for your hospitality

Great location but not up to the standard of other Vintage Inns. Starting to need a refurbishment - especially the toilets.

We had a lovely time at your venue. We were looked after by Yannis, from Rhodes, and he was extremely attentive and very professional. We also sent our love to Clare! It was a little chilly, but it didn’t be tracked from the whole afternoon with you.

Had lunch here after a long walk. The food was delicious and the staff friendly and attentive. If you get the lunch deal you can get 2 courses for under £20 so it is quite reasonable. We sat inside and found it cosy and comfortable. We would happily eat there again.
