First time for weeks . Bell rings at 8.30.. bloody ridiculous. The place is a joke . Just shut it down. If 20 people walked in now they would be turned away

Great old historic British pub with beams and fireplaces which always offers a warm welcome with a good varied selection of beers and wines. Well maintained with a large car park and a nice beer garden. Roger is a great landlord and there are regular events including quizzes and themed evenings.

The staff are lovely in the Old Eden. Delicious meal but portions are small, hence the 4*review.

Absolutely love this pub, very Tudor style and lovely food.. great staff and atmosphere. We had dinner and a pudding and it was definitely worth the money. Will be coming to eat here again with our family next time

Had a cheese and ham salad here on Saturday, was ok but a bit sparse on the salad bit for the price, the coffee left a lot to be desired but fortunately we only got half a cup! Not many in there and the language of the men sat at the bar didn't make me want to return, bar staff was helpful and pleasant tho

Not been before but will go again. Good good, service friendly and quick - and he was the only staff member on duty! We will certainly go again. Hubby and daughter’s mother in law had the steak and kidney pudding - lovely.

My husband and I were staying nearby in a holiday cottage and we popped into The Old Eden for a quick drink before going on for a meal booked elsewhere. Two weeks after returning home we received a notice for a £100 parking fine. Our car was photographed entering the car park, then leaving half an hour later. I rang the pub to request a copy of our receipt to prove that we had been customers. I spoke to Wes who very kindly said he would contact the issuer and have the fine cancelled. A few days later Roger called to confirm that this had all been processed and we could forget about the fine. Thank you to the staff for your courteous professional help, above and beyond!

I went recently with a friend for a meal - was midweek and my first ever visit. Really nice place, engaging waitress and good food with fair sized portions. Would definitely plan to go back!

Christmas Eve lunch was spot on! The Old Eden is set in the idyllic town of Edenbridge. The pub is centuries old and generates a warm atmosphere with traditional wooden beams and a delightful wood burner fireplace. Christmas Eve is always busy but the lady attending the bar did a stellar job holding the fort in her colleagues absence. The BLT sandwiches were just wanted we wanted, and really enjoyed the cheesy chips. Great ingredients, great service, food beer. Will return again soon. Thank you!

Our expectations were high after visting the web site. However entering pub a lot of shouting and swearing. Their was one member of staff on duty, who was doing every thing , he was very good and should get a medal. Sat at table and start to finish shouting and swearing all over . Food ok , had to wait 40 mins price ok But will never go back All this at 18.30 .

Came for food and had no scampi,fish or steak so notjing much else on menu. So didn't eat only had a drink.

We had our date night in this traditional high street pub. It's a cosy property with old oak beams and a fireplace. The staff were great despite being low in numbers due to absence. The two girls that served us worked very hard to serve a full restaurant with food orders, clear tables, take orders, make cocktails and drop the odd plate 😁 Top marks to them both. The food was tasty, hot and delicious. Our steaks were lovely with plenty of peppercorn sauce and button mushrooms. Booking is advised as people were turned away while we were there. We will return and get dessert next time

Lunch here ticks so many boxes - the pub is centuries old and has masses of character, food was great, pub is dog friendly, ample parking, and plenty of walks on the doorstep. The food was fresh and well prepared. Burgers in pubs these days are usually so tall you have to eat them with a knife and fork but it is surprising how often grease from the patty causes everything to slide around under the knife. Not here, the patty was firm and the filling was just right. Fish and chips were also great, good batter not dripping in oil. As for the service, the pub wasn't full but service was prompt and enthusiastic. what more could you want?

This is the second time we have been here. The first time we ordered jacket potato and prawn cocktail, it was bad. They refunded our money. So we came back today to give it another try. We ordered fish and chips , scampi & chips. 40minutes later, it arrived. Over cooked batter was so hard unedible we got refunded. We will never go there again rubbish food.

Food is always good & service just ok. However on this occasion the chef just did not want to accommodate any requests that were not exactly as per menu. All I wanted was Chunky Chips or Mash vice Salad with my Salmon Fish Cakes & he could not be bothered. I will come back but only when this idiot chef is gone. Nice atmosphere in this very old pub, friendly staff, and great selection of beers. Food was made fresh and very tasty, felt like delicious home made . Staff was very accommodating with one of our friends that could not select something from the menu due to her diet restrictions. Large parking at the rear of the pub. Overall, a very lovely evening, would definitely return, recommend it.

Had Sunday lunch at the pub. Great welcome especially as we had an 18 month old with us. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff went above and beyond to look after us. Food was good honest straightforward food with all trimmings. Big thank you to staff.

Thank you to all the staff who served 22 of us last week for our Christmas lunch. The food exceeded all expectations including turkey, duck, salmon, nut roast… not forgetting the sprouts. Dessert was equally delicious along with the warm mince pies and coffee. Thank you all it’s was a great start to the Christmas celebrations. And I will personally return!

The Old Eden is a lovely pub. It's warm, welcoming has a good selection of beers and the staff are lovely, but the Sunday roast I was served was dreadful. My wife and I ordered roast pork and were served a half-inch thick slab of over-cooked pork loin that was so dry and tough I struggled to cut it, let alone chew it. Two undercooked roast potatoes were another dry and unpleasant addition, paired with a pale and slightly under-done Yorkshire pudding. The veg was limited to a sickly-sweet puddle of red cabbage and a splat of mashed carrots and swede. There wasn't enough gravy and the apple sauce had no flavour at all. It was a struggle to eat and frankly unpleasant. Of our group of four, none of us enjoyed the meal. I want to support local businesses, but when the quality is this bad I'm left helpless. I'm sorry for this bad review Old Eden, but please sort out your kitchen.

Getting out of the rain and into the Old Eden was our best choice this morning. The old pub has a wonderful heartwarming feeling and the fish and chips I had here was the best I’ve had for years and my daughter enjoyed her burger very much.

My Mum, Aunt & Uncle visited for lunch & were very impressed with the lovely Amber. She was so helpful, very polite & an asset to the team they said! The Homemade Pie went down very well, was very tasty indeed! They will not hesitate to visit again & highly recommend! Thank you for looking after my family!

We came here with family for Sunday lunch. We were in here for over two hours but 1 hour 40 minutes of that was waiting for our food! Service was appalling and the food was mediocre at best. Even the 'free' pint had to go...

Tasty Sunday lunch in beautiful ancient pub. Thankfully lighter than some - not greasy or salty. A couple of thick slices of tender roast beef. Enormous Yorkshire which tasted just like the ones my dad made every Sunday without fail. Slightly overdone on top - it’s a matter of just a few seconds in the oven between perfectly golden and overdone. You gotta watch them like a hawk -and whip them out at the precise moment which is hard to achieve! The veg were good - Savoy cabbage cooked to perfection with carrots and peas. Roast potatoes were nice. Served with individual gravy boat. The whole meal was not at all fatty or salty which we appreciated. Apple and pear crumble was homemade. Crumble super crispy and buttery. We booked 2 hours ahead but pub not busy so this would be a good option to try if you haven’t booked anywhere. Lovely pub garden too. Staff friendly and helpful . Great beers.

We only had drinks, so can’t comment on the food. Main thing is to beware the carpark as if you forget to enter your number plate at the bar you get sent a nasty fine! Other than that, it’s a nice enough pub, and the staff were reasonably friendly.
