Booked a Mother’s Day meal for my wife and 2 small children. From the minute we arrived the service was welcoming, friendly and homely. Despite it clearly being busy, the organisation and attentiveness was first rate; even letting us play with the children outside and calling us when food was ready. The food was superb and fairly priced. Big thank you to the entire team!

Went to another place in Underriver where they were “too busy”, made us feel unwelcome and treated me with contempt. I looked for an alternative and thankfully discovered the white hart. Friendly and accommodating the staff offered what they could (also very busy) then the food was very good sat in the heated outdoor area. Lots of families and groups of all ages there enjoying themselves.

We visited The White Hart and, despite it being very busy, we were warmly welcomed and accommodated. The service was prompt, friendly, and thoroughly satisfying. However, the highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the food. We enjoyed the duck leg, beef bourguignon (bit differently served than expected), and a kid's beef burger ordered by one of the youngest members of our group. The food was packed with flavour, hearty, and perfectly suited to the season – exactly what we needed after a long stroll in January's Knole Park. Portions were generous yet well-balanced, leaving us very content. The pub’s décor is typical of an old country pub, clean, and clearly well-maintained. There's also a great outdoor space with a playground and a good-sized car park next to the pub. A standout feature worth mentioning is their allergen QR code, which leads to a detailed menu with a very handy selective filter – incredibly thoughtful. We’ll definitely be back, as there’s no need to look for another place to eat in the Sevenoaks area. Kudos to everyone involved! 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻

First time eating here, the car park is quite large , so parking is ok we arrived around 6.10pm , the atmosphere is great , friendly pub vibes . The bar wait was a little while but it was busy. We had a table booked for 6 of us . Staff friendly , asked throughout the meal if everything was ok , if we needed drinks or sauces when mains arrived. Starters were lovely and a nice gap between starters , mains and dessert. All the food that we had was amazing only criticism would be the Cajun chicken burger was a little dry. The halloumi fries are amazing and so is the cheese board , I would maybe recommend serving butter with the cheese board , we did ask and we were given some, also maybe a chutney 😍 Disability wise the main door isn't great , but if you're with someone it's ok , I was on one crutch I found the Access to the disabled toilet was absolutely fine. Also a changing table in the disabled toilet. I would definitely eat here again when out with family. Price is a little high for the food for 6 of us - 6 starters, 6 mains , 5 desserts , 12 drinks came too £345.00

A large inviting pub on the road south out of Sevenoaks. This was my first visit, a member of a group of a dozen or do people joining for a social lunch. To be brief, the food was awful. I ordered a duck leg and it came overcooked and dried out and charred in places , with no sauce to moisten it. Had I not been a member of a social group I would have sent it back to the kitchen. A disappointing £25. Discussion after lunch revealed a widespread dissatisfaction, so it was not only me. Having said that everything else was fine. A great place, good and friendly service on what was a crowded and busy day, and a willingness to cope with diet restrictions. So what went wrong with the food? My duck looked like it had been pre-cooked and reheated under a grill for a little too long. The problem should have been detected in the kitchen at the time of plating. Had this not happened I would have given the food 4±1 stars depending on taste, presentation, etc. I do not want to believe that this happens regularly.

The White Hart: Where Cosy Meets Classy (and the Chips Are Worth Writing Home About) The White Hart in Sevenoaks isn’t just a pub – it’s a destination. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick pint, a celebratory dinner, or because you’ve heard whispers of their legendary Sunday roast, this place delivers on all fronts. It’s like walking into your best friend’s living room – if your best friend had a flair for rustic chic and a kitchen that could win Michelin stars for its gravy. The décor is that perfect blend of “posh country pub” and “please spill nothing on these beautifully upholstered chairs.” Wooden beams, roaring fireplaces, and just the right amount of candlelight make it feel like the kind of place Jane Austen characters would meet for a pint after a long day of matchmaking. Now, let’s talk about the menu. This isn’t your standard pub grub – oh no. The food here is elevated. The fish and chips? So crispy and golden, you’ll be tempted to write them a sonnet. The burgers? Juicy enough to make you question every sad barbecue you’ve ever attended. And don’t even get me started on the sticky toffee pudding – it’s so good it probably comes with its own fan club. Drinks-wise, they’ve got you covered. Fancy a craft beer? Sorted. Want a glass of wine so smooth you’ll feel like you’re in Tuscany? They’ve got that too. And the bar staff? Legends. They’ll chat with you like old mates while expertly pouring your drink, making you feel like a VIP in your own local. The outdoor seating is another win. On a sunny day, the garden is a little slice of Kentish heaven. Dogs are welcome, kids are welcome, and if you happen to be wearing wellies after a countryside ramble, no one will bat an eye. It’s the kind of place where everyone fits in – even the deer from Knole Park would feel at home. The White Hart is everything you want a pub to be: warm, welcoming, and with food so good you’ll consider moving in. Five stars – and an extra one for the chips. They’re that good.

Stumbled upon this place whilst needing to find somewhere to stop due to travelling with young children. Went to try our luck to get a table for dinner and despite it being busy with Christmas parties, they happily accommodated us. The place was buzzing but felt like higher end place to eat rather than pub dinner. The choices were good , especially for gf, served quickly and was tasty. Only criticism is that I’m not convinced the fish cakes were homemade, but the portions were generous. Really lovely attentive staff. I pushed my Mum in her wheelchair through Sevenoaks' narrow streets, past busy cafés and noisy restaurants with tiny doors and steep steps and eventually found ourselves outside the town walking up the long hill past Knole park. We arrived at The White Hart hot, dishevelled and inappropriately dressed for the occasion but were welcomed in and seated though the place was very busy. The staff could not have been more helpful, understanding and courteous. Despite our late arrival we were allowed time to relax before ordering and then we were treated to some of the best food we have had in the Kent/Sussex area EVER! (We are not young or inexperienced in these matters) Every care and consideration was afforded us and we stayed for extra drinks just to enjoy the experience for a little longer. I cannot thank the staff or praise the chefs enough. The presentation and flavours of the food were superb. We are already planning to gather more family members and book another experience in the near-as-possible future. The decor, ambience and cleanliness were comfortable, welcoming and faultless. This is a lovely period building which hasn’t been turned into a ubiquitous, stripped pine, characterless space, but it’s retained its period charm. The interior is spacious with many dining areas, but there’s a rather charming intimacy about The White Hart which ensures more visits from me. We hadn’t booked for dinner, but arrived on spec and were given a pleasant table. Staff are lovely, very friendly without being intrusive and self-assured without being arrogant. I opted for duck leg and fondant potato as my main, my companion, for chicken. I had posted a review about the white hart last year after it became our regular. Sadly have to update from a perfect 5 to a 1. We visited on Thursday evening and arrived at 20.40 hrs (knowing kitchen last orders are at 9pm) and asked for a table. The floor manager immediately responded by saying only if you order immediately and said you can sit there pointing at the table next to the main door. Asked if there was an alternative she abruptly said no. We had sat at this table before and it's the worst table in the restaurant. We were hungry so decided to stay. I had a quick look around and could see there were at least 6 tables available in the main dining room including a table fpr 2 that was not clean but had 2 napkins and two glasses and asked if we could use that table. The manager was extremely rude and abrupt and said no cause I have to clean it. I said it would take 15 seconds and she started huffing and puffing and getting irritated. I asked her to not get nervous but she decided she was in the right and at which point I had enough of her arrogance and we walked out. We have been to the white hart over 20 times...but never came across such arrogance. Never again

Friends live here and we joined for Sunday lunch. Sat outside on the wooden benches, nice garden, lovely building. My scallop starter was great, well cooked with a zingy lemon oil and pea purée, not cheap at nearly £16. The roast arrived, parsnip purée, my piece of lamb was very small once I’d taken the fat off, obviously this can be a problem with lamb, the roast potatoes were crispy and soft on the inside, delicious gravy and greens were ok, for £26, it was a bit ordinary, On a positive note, we had been invited and it was a lovely meal, with old friends. My starter was so good, the roast was a let down. Yes, I would go again, stunning setting and on the whole nice food, brilliant service.

Awful roast, Lamb full of fat. poor amount of gravy. Extremely overpriced, had better at Toby Carvery.

Sadly the Roast was very average. Poor Lamb limp veg and only 3 roast potatoes. For the price very poor

Went for a Sunday Roast! Wow the place did not disappoint! Fantastic food it just melts in your mouth! Had the mixed roast, beef and pork cooked to perfection! Didn't have the dessert because was too full! Will definitely be back to try the dessert with the Sunday Roast!

Good was disgusting for the price. My husband had the pie and you needed a hammer and chisel to get through the so called pastry

The food is good, the atmosphere is good, however the service can vary drastically! We’ve been coming here for years, overall the food has always been good and it’s a pleasant pub to dine in. In terms of service, our experience is very similar every time; the more experienced members of staff are great and do everything you would expect. However, there are always a large number of very young presumably inexperienced waitresses (apologies I cannot recall names otherwise would quote them) who tend to have quite limited talents when it comes to hospitality! They loiter around chatting to one another making it extremely difficult for us customers to gain their attention, they are unfriendly, and lack politeness in situations such as when we walked past two of them on the way out, neither said goodbye or allowed us to say a customary “thank you” instead they looked at us, frowned and quietly shuffled past! This is about what I would expect from a McDonalds but would have anticipated a bit more politeness when comparing this to similar pubs. The only reason I feel the need to point this out is because this sort of attitude really drags down what would otherwise be a lovely pub, we will be returning but already dreading the frowns of these youngsters!

This is by far my favourite pub for dining. Menu is seasonal and there's a lot of options, vegan, meat, vegetarian or even pescatarians. My personal favourite is their pork belly, it's must, huge portion too! Staff are super friendly and attentive. I have been coming here since 2012. They also give coupons for discounts 😊

This pub is outstanding in every way. Service, food and lovely surroundings. A favorite with our family. It’s a little off putting I guess to be asked for a tip, they do point out that service is not included and then hand you the device that asks for a tip percentage. I left a good tip as it’s great but feel being asked personally for one is offputting.

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had in a hostelry! The men's toilets are disgusting! They have a drug problem with some of the customers snorting in the toilet stalls! The bar staff are surly! The manager is an oaf who thinks he can talk to people like dirt! As for the Sunday roast? I like vegetables drained of water, gravy with something less like brown water and a slice of meat thicker than aluminum foil! Three years ago they had a polite, enthusiastic manager that kept the place well run and had a beer garden devoid of trash and toilets that had operating facilities and didn't smell! The ale selection was fantastic too!

We only came for a drink so can't comment on the food, but it was great for the children to be welcomed so warmly. It was a breath of fresh air, well done the team at The White Swan I wish you all the success

Myself and the wife had a drive out to Westerham, saw a couple of pubs there but plumped for the Grasshopper. We weren't disappointed at all, nice warm welcome by the two bar staff as we entered, ordered two drinks and asked about food, a tab was opened and we ordered our food, nice selection of traditional pub grub on the menu. I had the steak and Ale pie with chips, veg and onion gravy, the wife had Chili chips. The steak pie had pieces of steak the size of your head!! And the flavour was really decent, nice size portions to boot. The Chili chips were very nice, too and lots of them. All in all a lovely pub, a warm welcome and proper decent food. We will be back to sample more of the extensive menu. On a side note, the bar has hooks, this is thing for me.

What a find, called in for dinner and had one of the best pies Ive ever had, full of steak and kidney and the pastry was delicious. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and included golden beetroot, which was a lovely addition. The lady (young lady) was super friendly and made us feel at home. They were having a pub quiz later in the evening and every table was reserved; just shows how popular and community minded the pub is.
