Lovely pub, great menu. Unfortunately, there was an hour wait for food, I will go back and review once I've eaten

Only popped in for a quick half, very pleasant.

We love coming to the pied bull. It’s a great local pub but without the local atmosphere you get at some, you’re always made to feel welcome. Staff are lovely and food is always great although Iain outdid himself with his homemade beef burgers, almost go as far as saying best burger I’ve ever had!

Attended a wake at The Pied Bull. There was plenty of food, with a good variety to choose from. All was very tasty. Service was efficient and staff attentive and friendly. Would recommend for this type of event. Parking available in car park too.

Burger was dry and crumbly and the bacon in the burger was rubbery but the drinks are cheap and the staff are nice

A nice place for lunch. A good variety of food, although the sandwiches are a bit overpriced. One of our group had to take the crusts off his sandwich because they were rock hard. It was very cold in there.

Came here on Thursday and the staff are so friendly and the food is amazing I would 100% recommend for lunch and dinner especially with the Christmas menu out now thank you so much for a lovely meal

Really great lunch last Sunday. Excellent quality food and big portions. Genuinely the best mushy peas I've ever had!! Great prices. A shame there was no veggie toast option but you can't have everything?

Went for a few beers this afternoon And have to say their ploughman’s was absolutely delightful every single mouthful of it was superb and at £18 to share for two was very reasonable. Service was good, worth a trip people :)

I celebrated my birthday here with family and friends. It was wonderful. The food was fabulous, the staff went out of their way to cater for us and the atmosphere was cosy and relaxed. I can't thank you all enough, it was just perfect.

Wow, sandwiches have halved in size and no crisps at all this time. Last visit noticeably smaller sandwiches but this time needed to eat when I got home!

The Pie I had was very disappointing, it looked like it had been under a heat lamp for too long, the pastry was hard and the filling was dried out. Our friends meals were ok but nothing special.

My boyfriend and I popped in yesterday after a long walk with our dog and we were starving. We both had the burger and it was quite honestly one of the best we've ever had. Homemade, at least an inch thick and cooked medium rare. It absolutely melted in the mouth. The staff were lovely and helpful! Two very happy customers. We'll definitely be visiting again!

A little treasure hidden at Eynsford village. Great pub with great food, service 10 at 10. I strongly recommend the place and I will return for sure. Great place.

We have used the restaurant at the Pied Bull for a number of years and have never been disappointed and once again the food was fantastic (especially the fish cakes} and would like to thank the owners and staff for their first class service I would highly recommend this pub and restaurant

Arrived recently after booking the day before, and on arrival was told i would have to move my car, which would have been half way through our meal as the car park was booked for another group of diners...Pub car park booked ?????? Really is my money not as good as anyone else's. As you may know the parking in the locality is sparse and if you have someone in your party who maybe frail, to get as close as you can is a bonus. Sad as on principle we decided to spend our money elsewhere, someone who doesn't have silly rules as above.

I booked dinner fort wo for this evening yesterday. Nothing was mentioned about the car park being booked for a group of bikers. So on arrival I was delighted to see a near empty car park ,especially as we had made several abortive visits previously with family and there was no parking. However on entering the pub was advised you will need to move your car at 7. 30 as the car park is fully booked for the bikers. Had I been told this yesterday we would have found a space and walked to the pub without having to feel rushed to be out by 7.30. Such a shame as we really love this pub and they have a great menu but out of principle we decided to leave and go elsewhere. Sorry but after yet another abortive visit we will no longer be trying again.

We hired The Pied Bull for a private function. The Buffet food was excellent, our guest all commented on how good it was.... The bar staff were excellent.... Good time was had by all

We had a table for 10 today for Father’s Day, the food wasn’t good at all, roast beef was extremely tough, fish and chips over cooked, kids meals also over done, staff were nice though, this is the third time we have been here and the food has been rough so won’t be returning.

Saturday 17th June Celebrated my 60th Birthday. We hired the whole pub for the evening, Lucy couldn't have been more helpful with the organisation... Everyone enjoyed the buffet food, & the bar staff were amazing..........

Food awful. Ordered very overpriced half chicken, fries and salad at over £15 after a lengthy wait at bar, despite not being particularly busy. Food took ages to come out and chicken looked like it had been in oven for so long it was totally dried up and almost inedible as were the fries which were equally over cooked and just laden with fat and more like crisps than fries, salad was basic leaves and covered in unpleasant dressing. Not a difficult dish to make you would think!

19 of us and we all had a lovely meal. Was so nice to not be rushed - friendly staff, great food and nice garden

Bought a ploughmans lunch and it was huge! Worth the money. Very pleasant pub.

I've been here 3 or 4 times now and I have always been very impressed! The daily specials are really well priced for the portion size you get. The staff were very friendly with my extremely active and exploratory 13 month old daughter. The service was prompt and I will definitely be returning. My only gripe is that the beer garden was out of action today, which seemed a shame given the lovely weather, but hopefully it will be back open soon.

If your having Lunch don't have breakfast!!. Lovely pie great fish cakes.Nice staff perhaps a bit expensive but won't stop us from going again 👍

Booked this for a group of friends based on the website menu. At the time of visiting the menus didn't match which was a real shame. The table menu is no better than other large chains with cutlery in its name. Food quality was average. Food taste was equally average. The staff were excellent and the venue was good too.

Good food, shame that a few dishes weren't available. Would definitely go back.

Friendly pub, good service, range of ales

I was looking forward to trying the Sunday Roast here but it was such a let down. The Yorkshire was flat, the meat overcooked, and the only veg were boiled carrots and peas, without any butter or seasoning whatsoever. There were 2 giant roasties - thank goodness they were seasoned well because nothing else was. It was very basic. A real shame as the staff were lovely.

Received a very warm welcome by the staff. But we were rather surprised that the price we were charged does not reflect your website price. We ordered two sandwiches which according to your website should have been served with crisps and salad and the prawn sandwich should have been served with mayonnaise but wasn't, which made it quite dry. Each sandwich was £2 more than website and served without crisps. I recommend you update your website. I

Had Sunday lunch with a friend. Starters were fantastic! The Sunday roast with beef was to die for. And the bread and butter pudding OMG 👌🏼 Great service. Friendly staff and All round a great experience A+++++++

Lovely Sunday lunch in a dog friendly pub

We normally go to the Lion but when they were quite rude we walked up the road and tried here instead. My first visit and am extremely impressed, we were given a very friendly welcome and enjoyed a delicious lunch. The sandwiches were a very generous size and good value for money, will most definitely return :)

Family tradition of attending on Boxing Day. Got drinks from the bar as the queue for the bacon rolls and hot drinks from the barn never seemed to get any shorter. Lovely crisp, chilly but sunny day. Perfect for vintage motorcycle meet

What an absolutely amazing find! Dog friendly, cozy yet spacious. Everything here is wonderful from the staff, the service and most importantly, the food! Best fish and chips we've ever had, the portions are very generous and everything tasted wonderful. The definition of proper good pub food. We will definitely be back!

one of the best steaks I ever had. My kids were happy as well. We arrived without booking and were seated anyway.

I don’t usually write reviews or complain, but making an exception here as to how diabolically awful and disgraceful this meal was. It was 3 adults and two children. We’re doI start. Firstly waited 15 minutes to order drinks. Drinks arrived. Then 25 minutes additional before orders were taken. And let me stress it wasn’t busy. Eventually when food arrives it was stone cold as if it had been standing for days and then served up. Yorkshire pudding was like a bowling ball. I needed a jack hammer to penetrate the roast potatoes. Broccoli was like 1 week old leftovers and the stone cold beef wasn’t fit for purpose. And before I go into details of the other meals I will refrain because it could be as lengthy as war and peace. Simply put this was the worst Sunday pub meal I have eaten in 40 years plus. Nothing has ever come close to how bad this was. Please, I beseech you. Avoid the pied bull . Note 3 hours after leaving this pub, the conversation of myself and the party I was with, we’re still talking about this horrendous experience. In fact I’m scared for life and will be having nightmares.

I used to be a regular drinker at the Pied Bull before moving away. I returned this weekend and was very pleased to see that the place is still as welcoming and friendly as ever, with fab staff, delicious food and plenty of drinks options. It's dog friendly so my two cockapoos enjoyed the visit too, with lots of fuss from the welcoming staff and even a treat or two! I will definitely be visiting again when I'm next in the area!

We popped in for a midweek lunch and we’re pleased to receive a warm welcome. We immediately felt cosy in what felt like an unpretentious, and honest local pub. It was quite busy ( a good thing in my book ) we ordered a Ploughman’s lunch and a prawn sandwich along with a portion of chips as a back up. I have to say the food was exceptional and plenty of it . Wow would recommend this pub and will surely be returning. Thank you to all the staff and management.

So disappointed…..this pub has been our go to for years but the service yesterday was beyond bad. After we ordered they waited 45 minutes to tell us there were no roasts dinners left at 3pm! 2 of the starters arrived 20 minutes after the first 2. Then 2 of the replacement main courses were badly burned. We walked out. We booked our table 5 days in advance so how can the kitchen get numbers so wrong.

Rude management Dreadful service they run out at 2pm of Sunday lunch after taking our order it took another hour for them to tell us they had run out!!!!then we reorder takes another hour!!! then food comes out in dribs and drabs last straw was burnt black food!!!!!! Unacceptable!!! walked out .never again it used to be so good!!!!!! Staff run around like headless chickens no management or organisation skills what so ever Awful beyond belief

The ale was nice and well kept. The food was also nice although on the pricier side of acceptable and there were no swaps allowed. All in all, very nice. Would definitely recommend and return

Nice country pub, more spacious than it looks from the outside. Standard pub menu with plenty to choose from plus a specials board. Food well presented & very tasty. Reasonably priced. Set in a quaint village with great riverside walks nearby. Recommend for lunch & a walk.

No soup? It's on the menu, I have disphasia so need easily swallowed food. Open a tin I don't mind.

We don't live near, but whenever we are in the area, we come here. Great food, terrific value, friendly staff. We always enjoy our time, at the Pied Bull.

We booked a table for a large group at Sunday lunch time a couple of weeks before. The new manager couldn't have been more helpful with the booking. There was a couple of changes in numbers and time right up to the day before but she was always happy to help. We'd pre ordered food but they allowed an extra two people to come on the day and bent over backwards to allow additional/changes to orders on the day despite them being quite busy. They also arranged separate tabs within the group to make paying the bill and ordering drinks very easy. The food was lovely and came out promptly when we arrived and vey good value. Highly recommend the pub for large bookings and we couldn't have asked for better service on the lead up to the booking and on the day itself. We've previously used them for large booking before and also had an excellent experience then.

Well we decided at short notice to go out for a drink and maybe food. We decided to try somewhere new to us. A lovely pub in a beautiful village. The road is very narrow and the car park is not the most spacious but we got in it. 2 x Directors shandies to start at the cost of £10, Very tasty as a very decent beer. We sat in the smallish garden in the shade. Very quiet location and pleasant to sit outside. We decided we would eat there and moved inside to get away from a lone bothersome wasp! I ordered the ploughman's (I do love a good ploughman's lunch) and decided to pay the extra £1 to have 3 items instead of 2, I ordered beef, ham and cheese. My friend ordered the cajun chicken wrap. The food arrives and looked amazing. I had 3 slices of beef, 3 slices of ham and a wedge of cheddar along with a pickled onion (vert artistically sliced), pickle, salad 4 x pieces of granary bread with 2 pats of butter. The food tasted as good as it looked. Although my friend enjoyed her meal I think she was a little jealous of my meal! She tried the beef and ham and agreed very tasty/ We had another drink and it was time to go. I did not pay the bill so please check their web site for prices (( remember thinking they were reasonable at the time). Another place to add to our list of wanting to return, Thank you for a lovely meal and great service.

Five of us sat down for lunch last Saturday (30th July 2022) and had the most amazing time. Waitress was both friendly and attentive and each of the meals was a triumph. We just couldn't believe the quantities of food that was served and it...

Prompt delivery of food on a busy evening. Good standard of catering. Friendly and helpful staff.

Shame we had a rotation of 4 staff smoking 8 feet away from our baby during our lunch. Wouldn’t take an ounce of consideration to have a fag in another part of the half empty beer garden or in the car park. I mean who smokes next to a baby never mind in view of customers?

First visit here and not our last. Very busy Good Friday lunchtime but tables available and food was excellent. Very pleasant staff even though they were clearly short staffed and under pressure today but coping admirably. Great pub glad we came across it.

Dropped in for a quick one with a group of friends after seeing an am dram at the village hall. So can not say much but from what we saw it was a friendly, clean and comfortable pub.

Visited this disgusting place on Sunday 19th June 2022 for Fathers Day, it was disgracegul. We had to avoid a dirty crumpled up rug on floor by the bar, which staff just ignore making no effort to straightening it out to reduce the risk of slips, trips, falls to customers and staff. We were seated at a table which was slopping, and the table top was all loose. The waitress placed a pot of hot tea on this table, putting my Father at risk of being scaled by hot tea, when speaking to the waitress she offered to wedge the table up. We were finally moved to another table which had not been cleaned. 3 roast dinners finally served 45 minutes later on cold plates, Food was appalling, hard potatoes, carrots, parsnips, and a chicken leg that was really awful. Hence we left the food, and went elsewhere I would never pay for food of such poor quality. No one even came round to ask how the food was. Having spoken to the arrogant landlord today, he took nothing seriously, and put the phone down saying report me to whoever you want I own the lease. The whole place needs shutting down, deep cleaning, and need a chef that takes pride in serving good food, not just any food. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day with your business, and teach you customer services skills which as a business you are seriously lacking. There was a reason I was able to get a late booking, it's because the place was half empty!! Avoid eating at this disgraceful place, and go elsewhere.
