What an absolute gem of a place. We were at Brands Hatch for the weekend and the Pied Bull was suggested to us by a friend who came with us. Very hearty portions of food, warm, cosy and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend 👌🏽

We went a family of 3, and we think for 2 Sunday roast and 3 drink is way to much 70.50£ as a bill. Also the food was not that tasty as a reviews, the pork have a weird taste, the beef is not even cooked, we got only 2 piece of roast potatoes. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures but I don't think we would go back.

The Pied Bull is a true gem! From the moment you walk in, the customer service is exceptional. Rachel, Cerys, and Aifie, in particular, were so friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience feel extra special. They were attentive without being intrusive and really went the extra mile to ensure we had a wonderful time. The food was equally impressive. The fish and chips were perfectly cooked, crispy batter and flaky fish – just what you crave! The carrot soup, along with the soup of the day, was also delicious, clearly made with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavour. It's clear that Cask Ales Fine Wines prioritizes quality in both their food and their service. My companion, Gusta, and I had an amazing time, and we can't wait to go back. Highly recommended!

A group of six of us came here for lunch on Saturday. The first thing was the lovely friendly and warm welcome on what was a bitterly cold day. Drink orders were promptly taken on arrival and swiftly delivered, which was good. The waitress serving us mentioned the Specials of the day in particular a chicken bacon and leek pie. We were sold! Five out of the six of us went for the pie and boy it was immense. Nothing like the pies you get in a supermarket, this felt like half a chicken breast in each bite it was so meaty. It was by far the best pie I've had in a long time and was quite simply about 3" deep in the middle. Finished off with mash or chips and peas it was perfect. Service was above and beyond. Can't wait to revisit. If I was being really picky then I'd say just a couple or even one other veg would amplify an otherwise amazing dish. Some Charante carrots or a couple of brocoli florets etc. would be fab. My only other regret was forgetting to take a picture of the amazing home made pie so I could upload it and show you how good it was! Just book yourself a table and visit, you will not be disappointed with the food or the service. Thank you staff and chefs at the Pied Bull 👍

We were a large party of 20+ this afternoon (20/12/24), seated across two long tables. We had all pre-ordered our meals from the extensive menu, and without exception we were delighted with our choices. Crackers for everyone, starters, mains, desserts, mince pies and coffees made for excellent value at £36.95 pp. Jugs of water were brought to the table. Portions were huge - thankfully doggie boxes were provided! Service was friendly and efficient. A personal opinion here - I’d serve the (ample portion of) cod on a bed of risotto rather than the lentil base, which was very overpowering. A shame because the cod was cooked to perfection. Just my opinion.

This was our first visit to this former coaching inn and it certainly won’t be our last. It happened to be the second day of a new menu which was extensive enough to accommodate all tastes and appetites. A former reviewer who castigated the sandwiches should return if the 4th earl’s innovation on the next table was anything to go by. Mrs B’s fish and chips ticked all the boxes. If you want really thin and crispy batter you need to travel to Vietnam or Laos. The chef here has got the nack, so stay in Kent. Chips, crispy outside, fluffy interior and hot. I kept taking forkfuls of the minted pea puree. My lamb shank was of good proportions and the bed of mash was creamy. It, along with the fish and chips, was well presented. Welcoming staff and reasonable prices - mine host even suggested I needn’t pay the service charge (which I normally don’t), but I softened under her charms and coughed up.

Arrived recently after booking the day before, and on arrival was told i would have to move my car, which would have been half way through our meal as the car park was booked for another group of diners...Pub car park booked ?????? Really is my money not as good as anyone else's. As you may know the parking in the locality is sparse and if you have someone in your party who maybe frail, to get as close as you can is a bonus. Sad as on principle we decided to spend our money elsewhere, someone who doesn't have silly rules as above.

I booked dinner fort wo for this evening yesterday. Nothing was mentioned about the car park being booked for a group of bikers. So on arrival I was delighted to see a near empty car park ,especially as we had made several abortive visits previously with family and there was no parking. However on entering the pub was advised you will need to move your car at 7. 30 as the car park is fully booked for the bikers. Had I been told this yesterday we would have found a space and walked to the pub without having to feel rushed to be out by 7.30. Such a shame as we really love this pub and they have a great menu but out of principle we decided to leave and go elsewhere. Sorry but after yet another abortive visit we will no longer be trying again.

I don’t usually write reviews or complain, but making an exception here as to how diabolically awful and disgraceful this meal was. It was 3 adults and two children. We’re doI start. Firstly waited 15 minutes to order drinks. Drinks arrived. Then 25 minutes additional before orders were taken. And let me stress it wasn’t busy. Eventually when food arrives it was stone cold as if it had been standing for days and then served up. Yorkshire pudding was like a bowling ball. I needed a jack hammer to penetrate the roast potatoes. Broccoli was like 1 week old leftovers and the stone cold beef wasn’t fit for purpose. And before I go into details of the other meals I will refrain because it could be as lengthy as war and peace. Simply put this was the worst Sunday pub meal I have eaten in 40 years plus. Nothing has ever come close to how bad this was. Please, I beseech you. Avoid the pied bull . Note 3 hours after leaving this pub, the conversation of myself and the party I was with, we’re still talking about this horrendous experience. In fact I’m scared for life and will be having nightmares.

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had in a hostelry! The men's toilets are disgusting! They have a drug problem with some of the customers snorting in the toilet stalls! The bar staff are surly! The manager is an oaf who thinks he can talk to people like dirt! As for the Sunday roast? I like vegetables drained of water, gravy with something less like brown water and a slice of meat thicker than aluminum foil! Three years ago they had a polite, enthusiastic manager that kept the place well run and had a beer garden devoid of trash and toilets that had operating facilities and didn't smell! The ale selection was fantastic too!

Superb pub food. I had Prawn/Salmon Cocktail - generous/fresh followed by pie and mash - unbeatable. My wife had soup(which was hot - you’d be amazed at how many places serve lukewarm) with crusty fresh bread, followed by Sea Bass beautifully cooked (so easy to over cook) - excellent chef 👏👏👏

What a find, called in for dinner and had one of the best pies Ive ever had, full of steak and kidney and the pastry was delicious. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and included golden beetroot, which was a lovely addition. The lady (young lady) was super friendly and made us feel at home. They were having a pub quiz later in the evening and every table was reserved; just shows how popular and community minded the pub is.
