The White Swan in Sevenoaks

They NEVER answer the phone and you cannot book online. How are you supposed to book a table?

I booked a table for 15 and when I arrived I was told they didn’t do table for 15 so we had to split up on to three different tables I said that was sant good enough. The lady said she would move the tables around witch she didn’t so I did the tables didn’t fit right as there was two circular and one long. The service wasn’t great they needed more staff. The menu was just Sunday roast they came on random bits of paper some had a kids menu one some didn’t. The food has good warm and to a good standard. The desert wasn’t great I ordered a Sunday that was on the menu it came out as two lumps of ice cream and some brownies half full in a glass very plane and bland. I was they told they mad is special for me to witch I pointed out it’s on the desert board. The staff didn’t speck to each other and the main person didn’t seem like she really wanted us there. To cap it all off they over charged us by £70 because they didn’t know what they was putting on the order form. Hire some one to take charge of the food side of the pub and this could be back to its former glory.

Had a family lunch together inc our 4 week old grandson & 2 shetland sheepdogs. They sat us in our own little booth, which was great. The food was delicious, big portions and v friendly staff. Free car park & grounds to walk the dogs. Would definitely recommend.

Great Sunday food, very friendly and helpful bar and serving staff. Very accommodating even with 5 of us plus a baby and 2 dogs! Definitely will be returning sometime

Went there yesterday to check out the new look... looks lovely.. but the food was not that great, and the table we were given which was in the corner area was awful as we were bombarded with flies around us and on our food. Certainly put us off!!

There wasn't much atmosphere, not very busy maybe because it has just reopened. Previous summer holiday it has been heaving but only 3 tables of people outside at lunchtime including us. Food was ok, nothing special and overpriced for small portions. Children's tomato pasta was abysmal, we sent it back! Just short of £7 for boiled pasta that looked like it had, had one tablespoon of ketchup stirred in it! The children's chicken nuggets, beans and chips were much better 🙂 I must say the young lady that served us at both the bar and table was very nice and attentive.

Had a meal this evening great friendly staff so attentive and polite, background music was brilliant very varied so it suited all tastes. We had an excellent home made lamb pie and fantastic fish and chips. The only gripe the mash served with the pie was loaded with lumpy garlic it was awful. Had it been plain mash it would gave been 5 stars all round. Please don't mess around with mash potato it spoilt it. But would highly recommend the pub the staff were lovely and it was lovely and clean 😊

Lovely experience from start to finish. Food was lovely, portions were very good. The staff were very attentive and welcoming. We ate inside and then retreated to the outside patio area as the sun was shining. There are plenty of parking spaces and a fantastic enclosed play area for the children where you are able to watch your children at all times. Inside is also dog friendly. Would highly recommend. We were surprised at the reasonable price for 2 courses for a group of 4 people £92.00.

Visited Saturday with my partner for lunch (he wore a vest as hot day)New staff working so service a little slower but they were friendly when ordering our drinks. When my partner ordered our food the lady (I assume the manager) said to him I will serve you today but not to wear a vest again as not allowed. The staff were wearing vests though. Menu prices have gone up too. Doubt will visit again.

I know we visited on a Sunday but if you didn’t want a roast on one of the hottest days, you have to wait 45-50 mins, kitchen had problems for the second time in a week. Staff stressed with heat and not enough of them. Pub looks great outside but I would certainly give this pub a miss.

We love the White Swan! There is a huge indoor pub as well as excellent outdoor space, plenty of kids play equipment, and great food. Try the frozen cocktails! They also have lots of viewing events and quiz nights, too.

Bank holiday Monday: We went to The White Swan for something to eat and drink and sat outside , the play area is really good for children and due to kitchen problems they were doing a bbq , the food was lovely and the staff are very nice , polite and helpful, it was a lovely couple of hours , thankyou , see you soon , Sam and family. Xx :)

Nearly ended up in Mordor not using the Sat Nav, but worth the drive/scenary. Food was bang on, honestly, duck fat spuds, '12 hour' unreal slow cooked, then roasted Beef. The desserts came with chocolate art you'd expect up town. I genuinely don't know where the chap below went, I'm not one to post reviews, but I was apprehensive before I went because of the below review, understandably. Shame overly harsh reviews like that can impact a business. On a cheerier note, the passionate owner put his hands up to being embryonic, fair play, explained all the food was locally sourced, all the staff were smiling and it was a joy to be around happy people again! Shame about the cold and the dusty car park.

I visited with a small group of friends and our children on a Sunday. I was incredibly disappointed. The roast dinner was awful- the vegetables were rock hard, the Yorkshire Puds tasted like they've been left out for a week. There was nothing enjoyable at all about the meal. You can never actually find a member of staff to call over to discuss either. We ordered drinks after asking what they had available, only to then be told what we had ordered wasn't available. We were told that there was only a roast dinner available food wise, even though our children wouldn't eat it. We decided to just order and see if they would eat it as we wouldn't be able to go anywhere else anyway, only to see half hour later someone else being served chicken nuggets and chips for their children. The bar staff don't have a clue what they're doing. They don't know where the tables are, what drink stock they have, etc. They're polite but that's about as far as it goes. And to top it off, nothing was said to the children that decided to go in the car park and spit on our cars, as well as generally being horrible to everyone else the garden.I would never recommend this place to anyone and I definitely won't be returning. Absolutely awful.

Have just had, for the first time, the takeaway service from the White Swan. The steak burgers were excellent, well cooked and really tasty. The portions of chips were very generous, plus lovely salad and coleslaw. We were impressed that they separated out the cold and hot items in two (paper) bags. Next time we’ll have the pizzas. Only downside is the text/email confirmation does not tell you where to go to collect and apparently you need to call the chef and they bring it out. There’s something on the gate but too dark for us to notice it. Fortunately there was someone there who fetched it for us. Other than that, perfect!

Came in for Sunday lunch. Was very dissatisfied. The bar staff were lovely but management were awful. Pretty sure it was the landlady or a family member (women looked quite young maybe a daughter) but she was rude and seemed to push her staff around. Wouldn’t recommend Ribs tasted like they had been put in a microwave Burger was nothing more than a overpriced festival burger

Went there yesterday for Sunday Roast. I had the Pork and my partner the Beef. The food is very tasty; The only down side we had to wait 45 mins for our food but well worth the wait. Staff very friendly. We will go back.

Unfortunately, after several visits which were fab, our last few experiences have not been great in terms of the waiting time for food. On Saturday we had to wait for 90 minutes for our food and wasn't told there would be a delay when we arrived. It turned out that the chef had 'forgotten' the order. Also a big downside for us is that there are no healthy options on the menu at all. A simpler menu with some healthier options would make all the difference.

After a tough year for the hospitality industry, I always try to go local. The White Swan, is a pub I go to as a short car ride from me. Me and my husband recently tried the Woodshed Pizza based there for lunch and was very yummy. This week though my mum and me went for a post shopping lunch, it was very quiet which I was shocked about, the bar lady was really friendly and we was chatting about how they was doing with reopening post lockdown. Tables are spaced out, and the menu has a variety for lunches and dinner. We opted for ploughman’s and tuna baguette with cheesy chips. The picture says it all for my ploughman’s! It was so tasty and my mums cheesy chips looked so good!Prices were reasonable too!So if you are local to Ash, New ash green, Longfield, West Kingsdown or even visiting Brands Hatch for day, definitely give the White Swan a try you won’t be disappointed!

Visited on numerous occasions and always find the staff attentive and the food excellent. Best to go off-peak to avoid disappointment and they do accommodate Slimming world meals if you so wish,

Had some dinner here with some friends, was pleasantly surprised by the food and how good it was. It was served up quick and looked and tasted really nice. The section to the right is for dining and takes you away from the bar area so regulars don’t watch you while you eat. Lovely mood and atmosphere inside. Good selection of beers or draft too!

The typical Malaysian cuisines. The food was taste and amazing.The home cooked food Malaysian style and really like in Malaysia.I feel like I was in Malaysia at my friend house is authentic Malay style cooking by her mum. I travelled to Malaysia every year.The curries, pork, beef rendang, noodles is lovely and wonderful. We was served additional dhall curry, vegetables seafood broth, papadum and prawn crackers. All the dishes is great and delicious. The staff is amazing. We will come back again.

Looking forward to a good Malaysian meal and what a huge disappointment All the dishes were dished out in big bowls with no garnish etc looks totally unappetising. Chicken curry was more like stew, Beef Rendang all mushy and nothing like the beef Rendang I know, vegetable curry not much better either. Being a Malaysian myself I was expecting authentic Malaysian fare but it did not deliver, definitely not worth the £20 per head. Will certainly not be attending another Malaysian night here for sure. Just back from this set meal on special night, food not bad drink especially beers not good but portions for £20 a head mean.When we left a table of two were enjoying the meal with the same portions of food that we had for five, also a table of six had ginormous portions, obviously locals.Not the way to attract new custom.Won't be back.

Eat here quite a lot . Meals are plentiful. Reasonably priced. Staff are very helpful.Would recommend. I have never been disappointed.

When we first visited this restaurant a year or so ago it was lovely and I gave a 5 star review. We have been many times since, but the last 2 or 3 visits it seems the quality has been tailing off and yesterday's visit was the most disappointing of all. We probably should have complained but the staff were so lovely and our waitress was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Nevertheless, the food was pretty poor and just not up to the standard of our earlier visits. Those who had the roast dinners commented that their roast potatoes were very hard and unpleasant to eat, my daughter-in-law chose fish and chips but the fish was greasy and unpleasant and the batter very dark in colour and appeared to have been refried to the point that it wasn't nice to eat. I don't know how it is even possible to make a flavourless curry, but mine was completely tasteless. I don't know if the chef has changed, but the food has definitely gone downhill since we first started going. To cap it all, we got both our cars stuck in the mud in the car park and we all got covered in mud before we eventually got free. This is a shame because we have had many good meals here in the past but as it is a bit of a drive from where we live, I think we've reached the point where we'll probably stop going there from now on.

Very good food with smart service once ordered at the bar. I think it is new management but not sure. Menu well constructed but not expansive. Very suitable for families with kids of all ages at outside tables. Not sure about kids inside policy. Good high quality children playground included adjacent to outside tables.

We hired out the marquee for my sons christening on 27th October and it was an amazing day. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. They worked very hard to ensure the day ran as smoothly as possible.

Lovely pub, we had reserved a table after reading some other reviews and I’m glad we did! Very busy.

Over priced, badly organised, too many kids there for the space and not enough for the kids to do. No entertainment for them and not even a DJ. I’d expect so much more than what we got. Very poor and will not be attending another event here. We even left early. We have attended local community events like that his before and this was the worst.

After a great Sunday lunch there a few weeks ago, we decided to take our friends whilst they were visiting from Canada. I had the fish and chips (Haddock) and I can honestly say that it was one of the best pieces of fish that I have ever eaten and I have eaten many over the years! The fish was perfectly cooked and the batter was light and crispy like a tempura. The big fat chips there are to die for.

Went for a breakfast, was excellent with lots of choices of all local produce, well cooked and delicious. Big portions too. Julie was friendly and helpful, great advice about hangover cures, we had a good laugh with her! Can recommend, would definitely come back!

Young ladies behind bar were brilliant we had a nice meal here and not expensive the locals where very helpful

Visited on the Mexican function and really impressed with the food . A buffet had been organised in the garden and a Carrabian Chef had been bought in to cook a Mutton Curry ,which was outstanding . We were looked after by Julia a new kid on the staff very attentive and really entertaining. Unfortunately the later part of the day it rain and forced us all inside but we were then forced to listen to very loud music ,we went home ! Good day though

We had a family get together for a niece leaving to live in Bournemouth. We had our own area on the stage and food and service were excellent. Brilliant place for children as they have climbing frames and bouncy castles. Lovely 😊

Came here for a spot of lunch one Saturday. It was early so the pub was pretty empty and we got served quick. Food was really good, I had a burger so you can’t really go wrong but it was delicious and the chips were out of this world!

We have been coming to the White Swan for a while now, always amazing food and great staff. The food this last time however was disappointing. It seems the portion sizes have been cut (which was a big attraction on other visits) and was particularly disappointed with the 'special' salmon and the presentation of it i.e. grey cabbage and no butter for the potatoes. The jacket potato was under cooked and some peas with the steak would be a great addition. Will definitely be back but hope it is like the other times we have visited :-)

Years ago, we used to meet here once a month with our classic car club when they reserved a couple of tables for us, but as it became more and more successful, they "forgot" to reserve our tables, so we moved to another pub. This week, my wife an I returned with her family and were met by the most friendly staff who served the most delicious food. Not only that, but they serve two of my favourite real ales - Courage best and Doombar. So Sunday afternoon, we returned and had their Sunday roast - beef for me and chicken for my wife. the amount of beef was incredible, but I managed to eat it all - not so with my wife who just could not manage the last slice

We enjoyed a lovely lunch in a relaxed environment. The food was freshly cooked and well presented. We were made to feel welcome by the helpful, efficient and helpful staff who attended to all of our needs. A definite entry on our’ must return pubs’

We always receive a warm welcome when we come to the White Swan. The food is good pub grub and children are very well catered for with an excellent play area outside that keeps the inside more grown up!

I booked a table for 4 for Sunday lunch and was initially surprised to find that a deposit was now required which was only refundable with 24 hours notice. I booked a specific table having been to the pub before.

Had lunch here for the second time recently and found staff very friendly and helpful, especially as we had taken our young granddaughter with us. Good selection of both lighter lunches and cooked meals. Very child friendly both inside the restaurant and the outside play facilities. Children's menu, highchairs and cutlery provided. Nothing seemed too much trouble for Julie who was our waitress on this visit. Food is locally sourced as much as possible. Prices and quality of food are good and definitely worth a visit to this pub.

Being of a certain age I have frequented a few Public houses. It is were I grew up and learnt more than I wanted or needed to know. Anyway I digress, my good friends and I found ourselves in New Ash Green with time to kill, we happened on a good looking Pub and decided to have a few drinks, after all they had the football on and the rain was falling. After being ignored a few times I happened to be over heard complaining to my companions by a young lady ( who was under age to serve), who said somebody would be with me soon. Well when the older lady heard of my complaint went on to serve 2 other people ahead of me. After spending the better part of 150 my friends and I decided to leave feeling like third class clientele.It will be a long time before I go to this pub again. If you you read my other reviews you will see I don't complain about staff, they have a hard enough job but rudeness needs to be highlighted and other patrons to be aware. If the staff don't know you expect to be treated the same way

Had lunch at the White Swan food was excellent and generous portions. Service was great. It was a rainy day so not so crowded. Could see it getting very busy on a sunny day. But overall very impressed with the service and food, will be going back soon.

The White Swan had been recommended to us and we were not disappointed, The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were a group of 12 celebrating a birthday and we were not made to feel rushed and were able to take as long as we wanted.

The last Time I went to the white swan was about 3 years ago because the food then wasn't get good and the service was bad. Now that there is new friendly staff a lovely new menu. The food was lovely and hot.

2nd time of visiting and for a christmas meal with a couple of friends. Meal was lovely and good value for money. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and welcoming.

Well what a difference a year makes!!! Absolutely thrilled with our meal out. The choice of dishes available was large compared with other venues on Sundays. The restaurant was full the whole time we were there and the staff were all very attentive, although constantly kept busy were all smiling and friendly the food was exceptional and the homemade brownie was one of the best u have had anywhere.

Very disappointed with our visit, we arrived at 2.45, was squashed an a corner ordered our meal had starter, main and bill by 3.30! When I complained how quick the main had come out after our starters the waitress said “nothing I can do about that”.

We visited on Saturday 30th March for afternoon tea with 2 options - either bottomless prosecco or tea/coffee. It was everything you would expect and want from afternoon tea in a country pub. There were pretty flowers in jam jars on the table and the beautiful floral china cups, plates and tea pots were a lovely touch on the well set table. The finger sandwiches were a good selection, followed by the delicious assortment of cakes, brownies and scones with jam and fresh cream. The service was faultless and the prosecco truly bottomless. There was a lovely atmosphere and it was fantastic value for money - we really look forward to returning.

Recently visited the White Swan for Sunday Lunch. Excellent food with a variety of traditional roasts on offer (plus a large and varied la carte menu). The portions are very generous and great value, plus a good selection of beers and a welcoming atmosphere.

We visited The White Swan for dinner one evening - we were served promptly by polite and helpful staff, the food was excellent and they have a huge choice on their menu (both food and drink!). They also have lots of facilities for families / children. I would strongly recommend a visit!

We visited the White Swan early on a Sunday evening as we had heard about the famous roasts! It did not disappoint, the food was great - large portion sizes and all cooked perfectly (I was recommended the lamb and will definitely be ordering this again!) It was a really nice atmosphere to spend a Sunday afternoon in. We will definitely be back - the outside area looks great for spring and summer evenings :)

This is an amazing pub / restaurant - I’ve been several times and for many different occasions and never fails to deliver!! The variety / quality of the food menu is particularly good. I’ve come to know it as a brilliant family-run local business - a rare find... Highly recommended!

First visit to this delightful country pub with my daughters. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly and welcoming lady. The service was excellent. Our waitress was polite and helpful. The food was excellent. We are all vegetarian so very impressed by the choices. Not the usual single item but a good choice of home cooked food suitable for our pallets. The food was served with a smile. Will definitely be visiting again.

Although not having a great meal on our last visit decided to try again it was the same 4 people and very pleased we did the ladies both ordered the local sausages and mash which you can order in 2 sizes it was presented beautifully and they both enjoyed it,my mate had the fish burger and chips and he wolfed that down,I opted for the chunky fish finger sandwich handsome but the ***STAR***of the show was the chilli cheesy chips the best I’ve ever had will return just for a bowl of them,as normal staff and service was excellent hope the quality of the food stay consistent Thanks

Popped in for family lunch to kill some time, very friendly and helpful bar staff, couldn’t be more helpful. Ordered club sandwiches which came with chunky chips & a salad! Wow, what a plateful, steak sandwich full and tasty, chicken & bacon sandwich the same, youngest had ham & cheese panini, again a plateful.

After using this pub every month for food over the last year booked a Christmas meal a massive disappointment,the food was pre-ordered and deposit paid a month ago so was expecting a great a meal.Starters creamy Stilton mushrooms great but accompanied by an insipid pale boring bread roll,cheese parcel horrid and acidic tasting,main course lamb rump very good but the dauphinois potatoes awful no sauce to bind and anemic no colour whatsoever,Roast turkey dinner ok but not sure when it saw the oven pigs in blankets barely warm no crispness or colour potatoes not fresh roasted just warmed up same with Yorkshire pudding could well have been kept from the roast on Sunday,deserts ok but yet again cheese board let down by serving 3 cream crackers biscuits why not try an oat biscuit,the only element that met expectations was the coffee and the service.

Very comfortable, friendly, pretty pub/restaurant. I had buffalo steak but unfortunately one just ok and the other extremely tough. They gave me a pudding to compensate but would have preferred a succulent meal.

First time I've ever been here. 10 of us (including 2 kids) went here for a family celebration meal and it was a really enjoyable experience. The food was great and the prices very fair. Waitress was vey friendly and helpful. The only negative I can think of was that the two of us who ordered Kangaroo steak were, without explanation, served a completely different sauce and accompaniments to those that were advertised on the specials board from which they ordered. Luckily in our case, we actually preferred the alternatives so it didn't matter, but that might not have been the case. Nevertheless, all of us really enjoyed our meal and will definitely revisit.
