The best restaurants in New Forest South East

We initially popped in here just to look around the farm shop then smelled the Sunday roasts being served and ended up staying for lunch. The roast chicken was amazing and our plates were fully loaded. They have a nice outside courtyard garden to sit in as well. We believe this was their first go at doing Sunday roasts - yet it was one of the best we’d had. Hope they decide to continue with it and that folks support them.

My husband used to use this fish & chip shop lot's when he worked in Totton. Today he went to buy us Fish, peas fritter & chips. They advertise you must wear masks but allowed pretty much all the customers in without. Lot's of school children bundling in and not socially distancing. No policing whatsoever. So if that experience wasn't bad enough the food was dreadful.. Slimy greasy fish and pea fritter & dried stale chips, we threw the whole lot away. It could be a one off?? It was school kicking out time so maybe there hadn't been the demand previously. Fish should be crispy and not a wet soggy batter!!!

Made a special visit to come here, was not worth it! Dirty and empty shelves! No bread and cakes as advertised! I wouldn’t exactly call two picnic benches a cafe especially being along side pet food! Do not be fooled by the photos!

This is a great pub with lovely staff. The new owners (a year or so ago) have really turned this pub around. It is not an essential part of the local community. Good beer and great food!

Came for Sunday lunch having rated it very highly on a first visit. Overall food was good, not as good as my first experience however, still pleasant. The whole experience was let down massively by the service. Initially slow to take orders, food took a while to come out and when it did it wasn’t all together which meant we were sat with food on the table waiting to start. We were also sat with empty glasses for the duration as nobody came over to ask if we’d want more drinks. It then took a long time to take plates away & then we were asked about pudding menu, however still no drinks order. Unfortunately, even the puddings took a long time to come out. Overall we were there for 2.5 hours with 1 drinks order and nobody asking throughout of everything was okay etc.

Do love stacking orders after 12.30.

Main Burger (Philly Cheese) was missing from delivery order. At over £8.50 for this meal to just receive chips and a drink is awful especially considering the partial refund they offer through the app is only around £2.30, a replacement of the burger in store would cost me over £7. the kids burgers had extras added like sandwich sauce and extra cheese and these were well cooked, not missing a single thing and arrived fresh which is usually the case from this store but not receiving the most expensive item from the whole order this time makes this particular McDonald’s one I won’t frequent nor order from again. (Ordered through McDonald’s app) 👎

Had a wonderful time at the hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Full of history and in a beautiful setting. Everything was so clean and there is a beautiful spa and swimming pool. Had an Indian Head Massage by Amy which was the best one I have ever had. Worth going back just for that. Lovely lady and will be booking in with her next time we go back.

I got a lamb donner and chips and pizza and they were both lovely, the staff are kind and smiley and the place looks nice and clean!

Just picked up a Chinese for me mother and she says … really good! Will be ordering again! :)

Very unacceptable that we had to wait 2 and a half hours for food delivery!! Even more unacceptable that they put a 16 year old kid on the phone. Poor girl has had a lot of phone calls complaining this evening and for a 16 year old that’s a lot to handle. Apart from my complaints, food was lovely but won't be ordering again

We had a fantastic experience with the Sunday roast and exceptional service from start to finish. Despite arriving on a busy Sunday without a reservation, we were seated immediately, which was a pleasant surprise. Our host was incredibly welcoming and took the time to walk us through the menu. Our waiter, Riley, was brilliant—attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. The Sunday roast was absolutely incredible, and the rest of the menu looked just as tempting. We’ll definitely be returning soon!

I have been to several Fullers Pubs but think that this is the best one I have been to. The staff are very friendly and efficient, the décor is lovely and so is the food!

Can't believe our local is closing. There is nowhere else to go that doesn't require driving. Such a shame. Its always busy there and the food is very good.
