McDonald's in New Forest

Chips cold in delivery to table. Missing balsamic dressing and extra big mac sauce burger cold. The continual alarms sounding for whole visit not making it an enjoyable visit

The staffing is basically non existent. Watching the workers crowd around the fryer to get the fries, just made me wonder "why don't they have a person at the fryer just doing fries, getting them ready for everyone like every other macdonalds?" And if I had a pound for every time I saw a worker just stood around not even doing something I could probably buy a minecraft meal. And that's another thing. When I asked if the worker could guarantee that the minecraft collectible was one of the 2 I dont have he told me he didn't actually know the numbers on the boxes. I asked if he could ask someone, and he looked at his manager (I presume) and just said it was something I'd have to look up. Will not be back here any time soon if I can help it.

Missing items from our order and we didn’t even get an apology!! By the time the missing items arrived, the fries were freezing cold.

Appallingly slow service . Always is . Never improves . Be prepared for a long wait

Most disorganized McD's I have ever been to. 5 years after my initial review, if anything, it has gotten worse. I live locally , but if I have time, I drive 10 minutes further to Salisbury or Romsey. These days, they can't even keep the place clean. 29 minute wait for my order.

Just stopped here on way home, as normal all fine.

Not impressed ordered a chicken salad as a meal with a late. When they brought the meal to me I took the meal and when I looked in side it was the wrong meal so I took it back they said at the main counter it was the right meal but in the wrong box also you don't get chips with it as a meal which nobody told me when ordering. Total shambles will never go there again.

Food was hot and correct just a shame it takes so long now. It's a family restaurant now not a fast food restaurant but that's life

They are either always understaffed or undertrained, I can't remember a time I have been able to collect my order at the last window whilst using the drive-thru. Always being asked to "park up" along with everybody else.

Probably the worst McDonald’s to exist, wait times are ridiculous and serves cold food with items always missing. Management have no clue how to manage the staff

Do love stacking orders after 12.30.

Fairly typical. Unclean looking kitchen with chips on the floor. A drive-thru crammed with families so that isn't ever a quick option anymore and self service machines that are never equipped with any receipt paper so you cant complain about anything. The food was pretty fine, ( although I usually find the burgers a bit small so have to have two) but my large chips was not filled to the correct amount and was only a medium portion. The point system on the app seems good value as you get quite a few points with an order.

Food was hot, not cold like it is most of the time service was nice too

They call it a milkshake. Its was just froth. Thought i was light when i was walking out. Waited until i got home to have it. Terrible.

Placed order 66 yesterday for it to never pop up on the screen (alongside another gentleman with 67) gave it 10mins as it was busy, clearly no sign of manager and a group of about 6 staff members chatting at the screen by the prep area. Asked a member of staff to check it to see him scroll back through the orders to find it and start prepping. When I asked when happened he just said the ticket machine must have not printed the order..... pretty crap excuse as I wasn't the only one it happened to. Other than the outside kids area, don't go to this place, staff and service very bad.

Absolutely terrible. Every time you go through the drive thru they park you up and then you're waiting ages only to be given cold food. Staff are useless and couldn't care less about customer service. It's been the same for years now I assume McDonald's really don't care at how bad this place is.

Would have given 0 stars if u could. Sadly we use this service every Tuesday evening and should have learned our lesson, most weeks we only order a cheeseburger and fries and have to wait over 20 mins even if hardly anyone is the queue- and every week we say we won’t use again. Today tho was ridiculous, used the drive through (once your in it you can’t get out ) and ordered our food - 2 cheeseburgers, a small cola and fries , and 3 mozzarella sticks, drove through to pay no issues- then… had over an hour wait for the food, were asked to park up. There was no warning given , drove through remained open. I went into the store to hear that there was 30 min Wait (no it was over an hour) lots asking g for a refund. I then left without getting my food or a refund. They should have closed the drive through if they couldn’t cope and given info to customers before ordering of the wait! Totally shoddy. Will not use this place again.

20 minutes wait for a Big Mac!!! One young lad serving while two young girls watched and messed about with giving him the drinks!!!! Laughing. When we received the food no gerkins and cold chips, put the Burger in the bin!!! chocolate milk shake half full and two flavours in it. Won’t be returning soon!!!!

A long wait at the order point, 3 or 4 cars passed the other side of me, kept breaking in and out, I get round to pay and they are all laughing and joking,

I always come here mainly cuz the food is nice but do I ever get all the food I order? No. I have never come to this McDonalds and had my whole order given to me. I also never get full drinks or McFlurrys like if I ask for a large drink and McFlurrys I expect it to be full not half empty when I get it! It’s absolutely mental The food is good most of the time but I have sometimes been given uncooked chips and cold food. This place needs to up its game if you ask me and my family. I’m not gonna stop coming because come on McDonalds is banging but fr up your game McDonalds you could be so much better.

This is not the first time I have experience delays in this restaurant, but when I turned up there were only a hand full of cars and the restaurant was largely empty so I was hopeful for a quick turnaround. It took just under 50 minutes to get our order, which most of it was cold. At the same time the drinks did not have the right mixture (sprite in particular) and tasted largely of soda water. It was clear the wrong boxes were also being used for the food and there was a loss of leadership in the kitchen. The manager on duty did not address any customers in the 15 minutes I waited inside the restaurant after being in the car 30 mins or so beforehand. It is one of the worst experiences I have had in any restaurant and the cleanliness was just short of terrible.

Absolutely useless. First we were handed our burgers through the drive through window and asked to park up and wait 3 minutes for our fries. We declined and said we would wait for all of our food to come at once. After waiting in the car for 15 minutes I went in to try and collect my food. After a further 25 minutes, I was offered just the fries. 10 minutes later finally got most of my meals before giving up and leaving. Cooking are was not clean or tidy and fries were being put into the cook baskets next to a full bin

Either the orders wrong or you have to park up and wait on the drive though so much for fast food ,and its always the same bad service and wrong orders...

I'm a local so we come here if we want a McDs. Sadly, they are painfully slow. Thirty mins wait for dining in is the norm. No eye contact from staff to ask about your order. Managers change frequently. Not good enough by a long way.

We arrived on a weekday and it was packed at lunch. Took a while to even get parked and unsafe having to walk two toddlers through a busy car park due to no pavements. Packed inside so we had a long wait for food. Staff member did apologise although not their fault. Food was good and toilets were clean as we left. Definitely wouldn't stop here again.

Service was good, always is here. Food was cold, a cold cheeseburger and ‘hot’ (not by any means) chocolate was not a pleasant experience. Can’t give an atmosphere rating as it was a drive through….

Nice Staff Nice Food Always Clean

Compared with other McDonald's, the food is similar, but the milkshake I ordered was very watery. Quite different from the others. The board showed our number to be ready to collect for about 6 minutes although they were actually still preparing the food. There was a guy who seemed to be some sort of supervisor of the team, who to be honest , as an outsider, he has nothing to do with being a leader of a team. He was literally walking around as if he owned the whole McDonald's chain, slurping from a cup above the people's bags while he looked inside them. I don't think slurping above people's foods should be allowed. I get he's young (probably 18-24) , but there must be some rules and some soft skills training. Everyone else was working like headless chickens trying to keep up with all the orders.

Spent an hour or so with my wife here. For lunch.

We had the posibility to enjoy this restaurant on a sunny day and we sat by the Windows to enjoy the sunshine. We ordered from our mobile phone and they served prompt. Nice food and friendly staff. It was clean and easy to find.

Only went for a hot drink. Hot chocolate was unavailable. Hubby had a white coffee, I had a coke which was flat, and no ice. Also it was only able to take cash, no card payments could be taken.

Slow service and Food was cold on receipt. Disappointing

Ordered via the app, which is apparently to make it a faster and easier way to order; having to wait 20 minutes to receive our order, also to then receive our order with no apology for the wait. Just made it extra annoying

Took 45 minutes to give me my order, completely unprepared for any number of customers.

Most off the Time the orders are wrong and pretty much smashed up in the bag the chips are small when you ask for a large the people don't understand what's going on

Shocking manager, the manager called Sarah was informed by a member of staff that the drive through is backing up and causing a traffic jam, Sarah responded with a shrug, a wave of the arm then prompted to walk away. Very poor.

Decent maccies but parking isn't ideal

I don't normally write reviews, but this place annoyed me so much I thought I would. Waited 35 minutes for my food! All food was just going out the drive through. For over 20 mins nothing came out to the restaurant side, it wasn't busy when I got there but quite a few people waiting by the time I left. I spoke to staff 3 times to ask where my food was, they couldn't care less. At 25 mins I asked to speak to the manager, absolutely useless, she didn't care at all and did nothing, didnt even apologise. So many staff, but nothing much being done to prepare or priorise meals for those in the restaurant. Would have given up but had 3 excited kids waiting and we do not know the area or any other local options. Burgers we're squashed when received, chips cold and drink not full.

Called in for a coffee.....wow. Beepers on the fryers constantly going off non stop. Not sure what was on the toilet floor! Not offered milk and sugar. Sad thing is the coffee itself was not bad

Very busy especially being located at a services. Ordered a drink with no ice, got ice, I wanted a milkshake but surprise surprise their machine was broken, no mcflurry either due to the machine being broken. Tried the McRib it was ok.

Adequate food, does the job I guess

Only wanted two kids meals from the drive thru but were told to park up. After a long wait, during which time multiple other customers were served, the food arrived and the chips were cold and soggy. Not good enough.

Im writing this one in good faith, giving 5 stars for Macdonalds food is not comparative. But it was as good as it could be for what it was.

Nearly didn't stop here after reading reviews. Said we will check out the cleanliness and then decide. Everywhere clean and tidy with someone clearing and wiping tables as soon as vacated. Food served in a timely manner and hot. Bonus....a mcflurry machine that worked. No complaints from me.

Terrible! Went in mid evening recently and there were lots of people standing around inside waiting for their orders, and a rather long drive through queue stretching around the building. Trouble was the staff were prioritising the drive through and mostly ignoring customers inside. One guy said he'd been waiting around half an hour. We got a refund and drove 10 mins up the road to the Totton branch, probably still getting our food quicker than if we'd stayed.

Very good fast effecient service and fresh hot food when ordering inside and using table service, very good!

Place was absolutely filthy inside, bins were over flowing, tables and floors were covered in rubbish, the sauce dispenser was covered in bbq sauce and ketchup,If it was busy in there I could understand but it was dead. All the staff sounded to be larking around in the kitchen area out of site. They had a box of chips on the floor with a bag of open chips on top that they then placed the chip basket on the box to fill it up with the chips ( which is probably why the staff were sliding about all over the floor. Not forgetting the lad that used the chip scoop to flick the fries that had fallen out of the chip sleeves back into the chip scuttle to serve again (baring in mind they hadn't served any chips in the 10 minutes I'd been waiting). Add to that the nice spray bottle of raid on the counter. Next comes the food. As always its cheap and cheerful after a 10 hour shift, but christ can the staff even read, if I order a grilled chicken wrap, and you print the label saying grilled chicken the screen says grilled chicken wrap yet they cook me fried chicken I tend to think the staff need to return to school, and where was my cucumber?? Side salad no cucumber, and wrap no cucumber. Then comes the big mac that was made with so much love the burger was folded in half and there was more filling in the box than in the burger. And why is the odour coming through the staff door like pure human poo?? I actually went out to the door to check the food hygiene rating and am still at a loss to how it has a 5. It must be a mistake. Luckily I'm not an EHO for newforest council. There's no way it's anymore than a 3 🤮

The whole place was rank. It was so untidy and outside smelt of raw sewage.

The entrance has a horrible smell. It exactly smells like an uncleaned loo. The chips were over fried dry and black. Never again in this venue

Normally, I use another McDonald's but as I was in need of nourishment I came her. It was an upsetting experience as my food was not hot and bits were wrong. I called my friend Tarquin and he suggested I ask for a refund. I did this and later we met in our usual McDonald's where the food was delicious and hot.

My food order was left outside of a heat lamp for 15 minutes as they was waiting on a milkshakes. This is not good practice in relation to food hygiene. Poor service, all staff seem to have to no interest, if I could give zero stars I would actually give this branch zero stars, this is the least organised mcdonalds I have visited staff members are seen to be sliding across the floor in the cooking area. Blatant disregard for food hygiene manners, staff members have no interest in customer service. No communication to customers waiting, absolutely shocking service.

When we arrived the queue was huge and customers were really unhappy about wait time, but we didn't experience this. There was a wait but it wasn't long.

What a waste of a franchise. Staff allow the place to be overrun with rubbish leading to it being rat infested across the whole site. Staff are bone idle and rude, the only McDonald’s I’ve ever come across who take 3 years to clean the McFlurry machine ie can’t be bothered as that means effort and work!!

I understand it’s McDonald’s and this McDonald’s in general is useless anyway The people there really do need more training as I believe they’re half backward also, please can you sort out the guy serving the food as there was a very bad smell off him I understand you have to work hard and it can be hot but your hygiene is just ridiculous for God sake brush your teeth and the lady with the greasy hair must’ve put it in the chip grease this place needs sorting out or someone’s going to die wow

If you fancy waiting over forty minutes for an apple pie then this is the place to go.

Picked up a vanilla milkshake and cheeseburger via drive-thru. Service was fast and efficient. The milkshake was creamy and satisfying, while the cheeseburger was tasty, though standard. Convenient and reliable for a quick meal on the go. Cleanliness was decent.

Clean and tidy quite busy so parking can a bit of a problem sometimes.

Quick service, but... That's it. Burger served without bottom part of the bun, no salad, a small droplet of the sauce, wrap half empty... Nah, won't visit this branch anymore.

The food is great and the staff is really nice.

Popped in for 3 McFlurry's and waited 15 minutes to then be told they had run out of one flavour and was offered an alternative which was already made. Only to then get back to the car to find all 3 were mostly melted. It wasn't busy, the store seemed well staffed, but could only see one female member staff doing everything. Disappointing.

It's a McD what else can be said? They apparently can no longer get the order through the app correct Twice in a row now.

Never got an order wrong when all others do

One of the worst mcdonalds I have been to in the country. Staff are reasonably friendly. However the food is usually luke warm. Several orders have been incorrect. With no sauce on the burgers, half filled fries. Milkshake machine frequently broken and with no sign on show to inform customers prior to driving in and being stuck in the queue. This has happened three times in around 6 weeks. They could simply put a sign to prevent customers the time wasted.

Generally okay, I takeaway most times but I did have few times with missing stuff or wrong item.

Lots of staff stood chatting in kitchens but lots of tables covered with rubbish, bins overflowing in car park (resulting in lots of seagulls pulling it all apart) and worst bit was the toilets! Disabled toilet/baby changing one had rubbish down toilet so couldn’t use and ladies toilet floor was covered in muddy water. Very dirty toilets. I wouldn’t return to this location.

No milkshake available and missed fries off the order. Parking very limited with undriveable track to rear parking

A quick stop off for breakfast via the drive through. Tasty, reasonable priced. Staffed by college kids. Some of who didn’t greet us but carried on with what they were doing. This time the hot chocolate was nice. On previous occasions it’s been like dishwater and when we complain we were told that’s how their hot chocolate is!
