Absolutely awful experience, the lady who answers the phone is probably the rudest person I have ever had the privilege of speaking to, was told my delivery should be 45 minutes to a hour so when I called after a hour and half to be told its not left yet and the delivery driver can only do so many miles per hour and was very rude saying I need to wait my turn? Your offering a service of take away food with delivery, if you can't handle the amount of orders then maybe hire another delivery driver and whilst your advertising I would hire another person to answer your phone as the incompetent women who answers and takes the order is just an idiot. Many thanks, One very annoyed customer.

I am currently an inpatient at a nearby hospital and a few of us wanted a Indian for tea so ordered at 5pm for 8pm a £100 order and the food was perfect. Every single item was bang on! The breads where excellent. The only issue we had was at 8:15pm I called to find out how long it would be and we had to wait another 15 minutes then it arrived but the lady on the phone was very apologetic and these things happen so. Prefer to wait longer for quality than get poor quality faster. 100% recommended 👌

Honestly if I could give no stars I would, absolutely appalling service, food was stone cold I called to rectify the issue with the restaurant and spoke to the "alleged manager" who told me it's normal for the meals to be luke warm on a Friday evening? I fully understand your busy and I appreciate it's Friday evening but that is such a pathetic excuse if you can't handle the amount of orders does it not make sense to either employ more staff or maybe reject orders? When asked for a refund I was informed if the dishes have been opened then a refund can not be offered, I'm sorry but how do you expect anyone to check their food if they can not open it? Also the Bhajis are harder than Ronnie Kray.

The change in this takeaway is shocking. Used to be the only Indian I'd recommend, but after a few bad meals didn't use for a while; thought we'd try again, only to receive one of the worst meals to date. Korma so watery and not at all creamy, the chicken was slimy (couldnt work out if just cheap chicken or undercooked!), naan bread like uncooked dough and very stodgy. Mixed grill was bland; the only food I would class as edible was the potato. This was our go-to Indian takeaway for so many years; So disappointed, needless to say we won't be returning.

Very disappointed!! We order from here from time to time, our Saturday night takeaway this time was poor, told would be 45mims, had to chase it up after what was nearly double that, one and half hours our food arrived, no writing on the main dishes to Indicate what it was but didn’t really matter as both of them tasted the same and very bland, food was not even Luke warm, naan bread was completely doughy and almost inedible, no apology from the delivery guy due to waiting double the time for it to arrive, didn’t finish our food we ordered as just tasted wrong and put us off, won’t be using little India again!

If your looking for a decent curry in Totton then you really do have one problem! Which one to try first? Some are fancy looking restaurants that have had a lot of money spent on their interiors, and some are pretty basic takeaways, some you can see the food being cooked, but most you can't. So where do you start? I have lived in Totton for nearly 2 years now and apart from one I have tried ALL OF THEM. I have tried quite a few different things on the menu and while I can honestly say that none have been bad some are alot better then others. LITTLE INDIA has come out on top for me personaly and make no mistake i am writing this review of my own free will. Im a man who will alway write a good review where i consider i am getting good service, and im a man who pertty much demands it. LITTLE INDIA is a restaurant and a takeaway, it has a bar that serves alcoholic drinks, but unlike a lot of restaurants ( quite rare in the UK) it operates an option of BYO (bring you own) which means you can buy your own alcoholic drinks from wherever you want and bring them to the restaurant to drink with your mean. I have tried many dishes on their menu from mild to very hot and they have always been exceptionally good. My favs currently are the extra creamy korma and the coconut nan breads. On top of the fact that I believe they serve at least as good a food as any of the others in town you will actually notice they are one of the cheapest. My advice is try them first, check their prices but more importantly check the way they look after you, they certainly know about service, and remember you can take your own drinks if you so wish. I hope this review helps anyone to have an enjoyable curry in Totton.

On arrival we were a little sceptical as it seemed very quiet but when we got inside there was people everywhere. I have to say the “chicken tikka madras “ is one of the best dishes I’ve had outside of Delhi, the food was so flavoursome and a good size. Drinks were a bit steep but wow the food was fantastic and all in all so glad we came. We will definitely try and get there again. I order a chicken tikka masala and after I played it up it separated in curry and a pool of water. I phoned I they told me it was condensation from the lid. After protesting and asking for a refund they hung up on me. When I called back they did the same thing. Eventually they told me they would come around and smash my windows as they knew my address. I had to call the police, over a £5 curry. A bad curry is one thing and refusing to refund, but to threaten a household and smash windows especially when I have a little 2 yr old and my wife inside. Unbelievable.

My curry arrived, when I plated it up a pool of water started coming out of the chicken tikka masala (almost a full cup). When my husband called to ask for a refund for only the masala not the other dishes, the person on the phone argued about why he was 'so bothered about £5' and handed the phone to a very confused lady in the restaurant!? After being hung up on repeatedly and getting no where one of the staff in the restaurant stated that he was going to come to our house and BREAK OUR WINDOWS as he knew where we lived!!! We ended up having to call the police as we were so concerned. I will never ever buy a takeaway from little India again.

The worst curry (if you can call it a curry...with no spices/flavour) I have ever had in over 50 years. I complained and they kindly sent another curry but unfortunately I had to call again to say it was only marginally better than the first one, as still extremely mild and I had asked for medium to hot. I did offer the delivery guy to taste the curry they'd provided but he declined. I wasn't going to put a negative review but I don't take kindly to having the phone put down on me...rude manners. Positve criticism should be welcome as I did start the conversation with I'd always enjoyed their curries in the past. Highly recommend 'Nicoles' as they make your curry how you like it.

We ordered another home delivery but remembered not to order the Keema Naan which had v little mince, just gooey dough. The order arrived spot-on the estimated time by polite staff. My Chicken Korma with plain boiled rice was good, though had big meat "cubes". The Aloo Gobi was tasteless and the cauliflower very hard. 1 Onion Baji consisted of 4 tiny bright red balls. Poppadoms ok and we ordered 3 pickles: onion, mango chutney and mint sauce. Not sure what we got: 2 mint sauce, 1 bag of v. plain salad, 2 bags of sliced onions and no mango chutney, just something that resembled bright red jam with masses of chemicals? My friend opted for a Chef's Recommendation based on lamb. It bore no resemblance to anything, just a mish-mash of big "cubes" of lamb in a mass of vegetables, esp. stained brown peas, with little taste. He also ordered a "safe" Chicken Dupiaza but it was more big cubes of some meat, slightly nicer than the chef's dish but ...no. Shame, because they deliver to our area but...not a pleasant meal and never again.

For special occasions we eat elsewhere, but for evenings where we want good food, friendly service, with no fuss, this is the place. It also has the advantage that it is mainly used locally as a takeaway, so there always seems to be a table at short notice. Perfect venue for those "can't be bothered cooking" moments! It is on a street with two excellent Indian takeaways, and the food is of the same standard as both of them - in some ways better. Parking is easy if you know to go up the side road (it is on a corner), but there is often an on-street option.Bar area is ok and have always found the staff very friendly. The owner remembers us, even thou we probably only go there 4 or 5 times a year. Menu contains all "standard" Indian dishes you would expect from a small restaurant plus a selection of specials. But the standards are cooked well, and portions that are enough without going over the top - so a starter, main course, vegetable and rice is more than enough. Add a nan bread if you are starving. My current meal of choice there is mixed kebab, followed by lamb tikka dhansak, mushroom rice and Bombay potato or vegetable bhajee. Well cooked lamb, firm but not chewy, and lovely roast garlic and black onion seed taste in the potato. The restaurant area is plain but functional, and very relaxed. They understand when you want to be left alone but are also happy to talk. Good rating for food and people, only reservation is the decor means we come here for unplanned relaxed excellent food, not to celebrate anything. Takeaway service is excellent.

Originally gave this place 4 stars but now I'll give it a wide birth! Ordered again and 2 pieces of meat in my rogan and rice oily! Next time I Asked for chefs special rezalla and asked about it which was a mistake as they obviously took advantage and sent me out (what I know is) the curry from the cheap complimentary bombay potato sauce they do, none of the rezalla ingredients in it. Cutting corners on £ and effort. Cheeky and sly! Will never go back now. I'd have thought winning customers over was important but obviously not. I shouldn't have based my original 4 star review on my first visit. Naive of me.

The reviews were not great but my wife and i were on a free-be so why not? Well i can honestly say the staff are useless, the manager cant be bothered and the food is of poor quality? Why do people open a resteraunt with no intention of trying to be successful. Even other bad Indian restaurants are at least pleased to have custom. Not here why bother?????????

Visited first time since this full service restaurant with normal cursory 10% takeaway service discount opened back in February 2015 ....Overall experience not bad.Location not so good but the old pub refurbishment has worked & the seating & bar areas look good with some atmosphere if there are other guests in ! ( which at 8.00pm there were none ? )Takeaway tel' order process no problem - quick & efficient with total cost confirmed etc.25 minute we pecked wait time predicted on ordering & it was all ready + correct on collection from a very confident pair of guys on the bar. Good natured & complimentary poppadums / dip & salad included ....... not bad , but expected perhaps when prices are above average !?.Food quality good with recipes / taste reflecting on line descriptions etc. Portion sizes / meat / fish content could be better to add value overall but all four of us agreed that we have had worse Indians .....Would we return for takeaway ? - yes.Would we book restaurant - probably not as we prefer Anooka at Salisbury.

It's actually very difficult to come across a takeaway that's above average. I thought I'd try a new Indian in my area and from experience thought I was brave taking the risk. But Little India in Totton impressed me a lot. The chicken in my Jalfrezi was very good quality and fresh. The peppers were very sweet and the chilli was perfect. None of the orders from the group I was with were at all greasy or oily which can sometimes be a problem with takeaways. The only reason I don't give it a 5 is because I rarely give full ratings, only when I'm swept off my feet!

We went here for a joint stag/hen do. I booked one month in advance. They had no staff, we waited two hours to be served food which was terrible. Half of us didn't even get food at all. Dirty place terrible food a massive disappointment. We live local and would never go back x

Can only comment on a couple of the choices as I've found what is now one of my favourite meals of all time. Onoin Bahjee starter - perfect texture and flavour and no greasier than necessary (9/10); All the Byriani's - missing it's little egg omelette thing and is slightly greasy, but every single one has been absolutely delicious (9/10); All the Madras's - could be a bit spicier but that is all (9.5/10); Chicken Tikka Ceylon - was absolutely spot on (10/10); Various Na'an Breads - can't quite decide what isn't too hot about these but they're not quite my favourite (3.5/10). Also, had an order delivered a few weeks ago and I'm certain they bent space-time as the order was delivered in less than 20 minutes! Overall, definitely 100% use this one over any of the others - and in particular: Onion Bahjee starter, Tandoori Chicken Byriani with a Madras Sauce instead of the vegetable, Shed load of poppadoms. You will not regret it!

No wonder why I'm the first reviewer. It is that no one really bothers with the restaurant bit and just orders the take away from home? Well I wasn't in the know, so I'm going to save you from the same fate.We sat for 15minutes before we moaned at the lone server to get us some menus (I ask you!)Then we went through 4 wines on the list, only to be told (after he'd gone looking for each one) that they didn't have any. The lone server was trying to serve us, take phone orders, give out orders for collection and serve the only other table in the place. All told, we sat for 40 minutes: one of us had a beer, a few of us had water and everyone else was ignored. We were a party of 5. It was such a farce that we left and found a far better place.

We got a takeaway from here. Ordered online and got 15% because I collected. All the dishes were lovely, service was good. Recommend for takeaways

We ordered a takaway yesterday and the wrong starter was delivered, it was very nice and enjoyed, was quite happy. About half an hour later I receive a ohone call from the owner saying how sorry he was towhich I said not a problem I enjoyed the one delivered and not to worry about it. Fifteen minutes later they delivered the one I had ordered. I was rearly impressed with their customer servie. Five starts .
