Nice new Indian restaurant by the train station in new Milton. Food was very good, and at the time is was bring your own alcohol as they just opened. Not sure if still the case.

Great service and food was amazing.

Used to love this place and have eaten there many times. However, was very disappointed a few weeks back to be told (on a Wednesday evening at 8pm) that a takeaway would take 1 hrs 40 mins!!!! Then, only this week, we were badly let down when we had a table booked to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary only to find the restaurant closed for refurbishment and they hadn't bothered contacting us to cancel the reservation. Very disappointed and angry 😡

Lovely food impressed with the service, thank you, will definitely eat here again. Lamb balti was very tasty, matoor manner was lacking in cheese, apart from that we were pleased.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. Food was good and the service was excellent. Such friendly staff. Really made you feel welcome. Bear in mind you have to bring your own alcoholic beverages, which is good as it keeps the cost down. They do provide glasses,Soft drinks are available. Visited yesterday just before 9.00 pm. Food and service were excellent. We arrived with a lovely red wine (BYO restaurant) to accompany our meal. The waiting staff were extremely polite and courteous and happy to spend time explaining the various dishes on the menu. When the bill arrived we were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the price. We hope to return very soon.

We came to this restaurant as a family and loved bring your own alcohol to reduce the cost. Unfortunately we still spent a lot as the waiter incorrectly informed us that all chicken dishes were served on the bone. We didn’t all want this so upgraded to fish which worked out quite a lot more. The chicken was not on the bone for the person who ordered it so this was completely confusing! The prawns were not great and did not taste fresh, the vegetable Balti was advertised as coming with a plain Nan. We asked for this more than once but we were told they couldn’t give us it, as it was an old menu. Trade descriptions law crossed my mind but I couldn’t be bothered after the chicken debacle. We won’t be back unfortunately.

Been here a few times but our most recent visit was probably our last! Menu seemed to have changed, and become rather more run of the mill, staff unfamiliar and somewhat disorganised. It appeared that every table had either their order or bill muddled….. £8 for 4 poppadums? Shame, as it was an asset to the town in its infancy.

Went there for lunch. Was told clay oven not hot so no naan breads on offer. Ordered a chicken tikka pathia,and ended up with a creamy coconut massala. Complained but waiter insisted it was a pathia. I have eaten thousands of curries and it was definately not a pathia. Also 3 popadums and chutneys got cvarged £7. Will never go back again

Last time my family came here it was just brilliant. This time we were encouraged to order too much food then charged 50p per container to take it home (and told to pack it ourselves). It was an odd experience. Asked if we wanted popadoms (£8)! We asked for a portion of two samosas (got 2 lots so 4 in all) £13.90! Asked for one portion of rice and were told it wasn’t enough so 2 lots came (didn’t even finish one)! We couldn’t understand the bill as nothing was itemised but ended up just paying and won’t return. Ridiculous amount of money for what we received.

Ate here last night staff were really rude to the point we actually left the restaurant without eating are food were charged for food we.didnt even have asked for a booth as it was a birthday nothing recognised when we walked in very long wait for food even tho only one other diner would never return again to be made to feel uncomfortable my wife was trying to talk to one waiter and he kept point blank ignoring her so safe to say her birthday meal.was a let down

Very disappointed in our Takeaway meal. We were really looking forward to it as not had an Indian for a while. Unfortunately, we found the Chicken Rogan Josh and Chicken Balti to be very bland, a distinct lack of spices. Chicken was tough with dish swimming in oil. The Chicken, we believe had been reheated or overcooked. We didn't believe these dishes were freshly cooked. A shame really, as we were so looking forward to this. The restaurant looked welcoming with a nice atmosphere expected for an Indian and staff were welcoming when we ordered.

Was gorgeous Had mixed jalfrezi. Full of meat. Lovely sauce. No complaints at all Great food. Lovely setting. Great busy atmosphere Staff ( manager with pony tail) very very professional. Great customer service Will return when next back in the area

Very nice meal, spotlessly clean, good ambience, friendly staff. What more do you need for a good night out. Just been taken over, this place is worth a try.

Well perhaps they were just having a bad night ........ It was really a completely poor show. First they have no alcohol licence - so had to walk down the road to buy a beer drink. My wife elected to have a pineapple 'Mocktail' - the waiter had to go down the road for some pineapple juice and then eventually she was presented with a tall glass of what looked and lasted like Lilt. After enquiring about this concoction it was taken away to be made 'properly' - much improved this time! There was an extensive delay in receiving our food, during which time there were several phone calls we could hear going on as customers were clearly complaining about their takeaway orders which were incomplete - several apologies being made and one customer walked back in with a carrier bag of food to receive a refund. Our food eventually arrived, which was not great, we had Chicken Biryani, the veg curry was not very tasty and the chicken was not too hot and like wise not very tasty, rice was quite nice and fragrant. When we were asked if we had enjoyed the meal, we naturally said not really and after another long delay were given the bill with a 20% discount - Frankly I would much rather have paid in full or even more for a nice meal out.

We ate here recently and were very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant decor is very cleand and modern. The staff are courteous and efficient. And the food is absolutely excellent. The best Indian we have tasted in years. Very fresh and very tasty without being over burdened by spices. Thank You!

Just been for a wonderful meal here with my daughter and grandsons. We’ve been meaning to go for ages. Absolutely brilliant. Very tasty food (seriously scrumptious), superb atmosphere and excellent service. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming. It’s beautifully decorated and a really busy buzzy atmosphere. We really had a brilliant night and it’s definitely going to be a regular night out for us. We’re so lucky to have such an excellent restaurant in New Milton.

Amazing food so fresh and delicious. The sag paneer is my favourite dish. My friend had not eaten there before and really enjoyed it. We will visit again.

Great new addition to the town! The Indian serves great authentic food & cater for Coeliacs. They don't have a bar available but your welcome to bring your own drinks in & they don't even charge corkage! We've been several times now & have had a great meal every time. The loos are starting to look a little shabby but nothing a quick lick of paint won't fix & maybe make it a brighter colour next time. We have always found all staff to be very helpful & pleasant so do give this restaurant a try if your looking for a tasty meal!

I came to your restaurant with my partner n was shocked about the service and standard of Hygiene on the cutlery and the toilets were disgusting. Why would you paint the toilets black? To disguise something? Your staff were unapproachable when I comment about the dryness of chicken tikka I won’t be back again until the standards is improved !

A 50th birthday dinner for my family and I. We had booked a week or so in advance and had a call the day before to confirm the booking. Everyone of us had something different and all really enjoyed every element. For those that like a real kick of heat, I can really recommend the Xacuti Fusion. That was really good. Everything else as it should be, perfect rice, naan and popadums. The atmosphere was nice, and the full range of ages were there. I particularly like the bring your own alcohol which does save a little bit. Overall, a perfect birthday dinner.

I have used this restaurant a few times now and I have been mostly impressed with their food, however, tonight my wife and I decided on a takeaway and we went for 4 starters to have something different, Prawn Puree x2, Tandoori Prawn x2, Breaded Butterfly Prawn and Onion Bhaji. The Tandoori King Prawn was inedible, grossly overcooked cold and dried out and so hot with chilli it took the back of my throat out, straight into the bin, Prawn Puree, the Puree was hard and brittle and we struggled to find any shrimp in the limited tiny portion mix, cold, straight into the bin Breaded Butterfly Prawn, overcooked and chewy but warm, just about edible because we were hungry, Onion Bhaji, warm and edible. Gutted because we have always had good food from here, once we had a takeaway and it was OKish, but generally they are good, we have eaten in with large groups and just a small party of 4 people on numerous occasions and all was OK, but this time, no way, it was possibly the worst meal I have ever had/not had. Went in to collect my meal and the place was absolutely empty, unusual for this restaurant, it was my favourite but I will have to give them the benefit of doubt and put it down to a seriously bad day, I do think it will take a lot of persuading to get me to go back because this place is popular with our friends as well.

Read a lot of good things about this place so decided to give it a try. Wow.... amazing food and plenty of it. All staff friendly, helpful and attentive. Def recommend and we will be going back. Suggest booking if you can though as gets very busy.

Very very unprofessional and extremely rude staff. I wouldn’t eat in this place if they offered it for free. Restaurant was very dirty. Food was freezing cold and the attitude of the young girl when we stated this fact had severe attitude. One star review was actually too nice for this place. Should be -5

Made a late booking on Friday night for two at this Indian on end of new Milton high street. food was hot and tasty, friendly service. The bill was around £44 for all you can see in the photo plus two non alcoholic drinks. They are awaiting the alcoholic drinks licence so at present you can bring your own drink. Will definitely be returning as this is one of the nicest meals we have had in the area for a long time.

We've been to this restaurant several times now since it reopened as The Indian in 2021. The food is delicious & the staff are all friendly, the restaurant is clean with a nice vibe & the toliets are much much cleaner than the other Indian restaurant in New Milton we used to go to. Gluten Free is no issue here either as the owner explained to my wife who is coeliac when they opened up last year...Even their Popadoms are GF! You still need to take your own alcoholic beverages as they don't currently have a license, they are more than happy with this & don't charge a penny for corkage so can't moan about this, plus it saves you a fortune so makes it quite good value considering what you can pay in other restaurants. Highly recommend this restaurant for authentic food!

booked a table a month ago for a special occasion, staff so rude! table separate. If I could put 0 stars I would! AVOID!!!!! young manager mumbling under breath!!! you should be ashamed that this is classed as a restaurant and the there is not service at all! My experience for the second time has been unacceptable the staff need retraining what is the point of booking a month in advance and the table was in two sections of the restaurant your daughter who didn’t let us speak at all says that she is manager for the evening who left us at the front waiting wiv two young children as she didn’t know what to do as obviously you had a larger group in took priority we came in at 5.30 and we would of been out by 6.30 so you could of resolved it so easy. She said the manager wasn’t in yet you were in and you should have dealt with the situation instead of leaving your 16 year old daughter to deal with it. We Decided to try The Indian tonight so I orderd for collection. Food was ready after 20min so I went to pick it up. We ordered chicken jalfrezi, Chicken tikka masala, chicken tikka starter, peshawari nan and some poppadoms. Everything came to around £33. The overall experience wasn't very pleasant. Chicken in all the dishes was extremely dry bland and didnt taste fresh. We recieved a garlic nan instead of peshawari nan. Quite dissatisfied and disappointed. The restaurant claims to have a chef with 5 Michellein stars and over 25 years experience..... Is that so?

Booked a table having heard some good feedback from friends. The food was not great. Chicken in all curries had been overcooked and was extremely dry. Keema naan was like rubber. Service was at most average and unlikely we will return.

The Takeaway part of this restaurant started really strong, tasty food and great portions. But after our 4th curry from here I feel they have not kept up the standard, the portion sizes have reduced and the last takeaway we had was slightly bland and the popadoms were definitely stale. I’m hoping they are just having teething problems and that the food will return to the standard of the first meal we had.

Called on Friday 1st July at 4.45pm to book a table. Phone answered and a lady asked for my phone number to call me back which she duly did in approximately 10 minutes. I asked to book a table for Saturday 2nd July at 7.30pm, she then told me that I could either have 6.30pm or 8.30pm and I chose 8.30pm, and I gave her my name as requested. She then ended the call with "Thank you we will see you tomorrow". Turn up at a very busy restaurant on Saturday 2nd July at 8.25pm and they cannot find our booking. As if that wasn't bad enough no-one seemed remotely bothered!! A gentlemen said that he would go and find someone and never came back and the lady who I had obviously spoken to on the phone (She was looking quite sheepish!! at this point because I had explained that I had rung the previous day!) said "Sorry we have nothing available", and then basically left us to serve someone else. I know this is a new venture but they need to sort out their booking system. Totally unacceptable. Food might be lovely but unfortunately we never got to find out and I am dubious about rebooking having already had one evening ruined.

Such fantastic service and really gorgeous food, impressed with the whole experience and it’s newly opened! There were some slight booking hiccups but nothing major and all sorted very quickly. Will definitely visit again
