Expensive at £16 per head with most choices on the menu having an extra charge. The choice for £16 was continental or english. On two occasions the cafe had help yourself hot breakfast ie bacon sausage etc etc spoilt by the fact that the plates were cold so by the time you got half way through the meal the food was cold. Not a problem for the rest of the days when the breakfast was waiter service

My wife and I had a voucher for afternoon cream tea for two here for my wife's birthday in July. We decided to use it on my birthday last Friday. The cream tea was alright but to be honest we've had better and for less than £23 per person elsewhere. We finished off with a nice glass of Pimms which at £7.50 a glass we thought a bit overpriced but that seems to be the norm these days in hotels, pubs etc. especially in the New Forest area. We know hotels etc took a hammering during the Pandemic and are trying to recoupe lost income, but its at the expense of punters and surely if they kept the prices reasonable they would attract more people.

If you like pizza then great! If you want anything else, forget it. We booked after reading their online menu; something for everyone….not. Sadly the menu had been culled. On the upside, the cooked breakfast was good - such as you would expect at a good chain hotel but pricey. £72 for four full English breakfasts, one tea, one coffee and two apple juices - way over the odds. Felt ripped off with this one.

Breakfast is served in a sports style cafe next to the leisure centre. The breakfast menu was only available on our last day. The scrambled eggs to order were very good; the other hot food and continental food was average. The venue needs a good clean. Butter and sugar had to be asked for each day. The staff seemed very stressed and there were very few of them, which meant tables remained uncleared.

We are here for a family holiday and we have booked three separate apartments in the Manor House which are spacious and pretty well kitted out. We decided to have dinner in the Solent Cafe and were very pleased we did. Although the menu is a bit limited the lasagne was great. It was freshly cooked in the restaurant and is one the best I have tasted. The chef, Carlos, is a recent arrival at the restaurant and if this is an example of his ability then diners are in for a treat. In addition, Dan the bartender looked after us extremely well and between them made the dining experience a joy. Thanks to you both 😀

Rain was forecast and so we took the sensible precaution of booking an afternoon tea - a very good decision! Lovely service, delicious sandwiches, scones and petit fours.

Absolutely wonderful food. I've been here countless times and I've never been dissapointed. Lived in Thailand for 2 years and I've always struggled to find a good pad Thai since. Then I found here and it's honestly fantastic. Hard workers creating great food. Thank you team ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We arrived for lunch and weren’t sure which way to enter the restaurant. There is a front door but no sign or anything intimating it was the main entrance or whether it was the door for the hotel or the restaurant or both; so we opted for the side gate but still weren’t sure if we were going the correct way. Still not sure whether we had entered the restaurant via the correct route we were seated quickly and my young daughter needed the bathroom: we went to the bathroom leaving my partner at the table and by the time we came back there were still no menus on the table. I did wonder if it was the start of things to come. However, thankfully, I was wrong. Everything after that was seamless. Service was good and food was great. My partner had the burger, I had eggs Benedict and my daughter had pizza. My only personal preference with the eggs Benedict would be to have a thick slice of ham, but as I say, that’s my personal preference. All the food was good quality. We liked the seating arrangements too; tables weren’t squeezed in and there was plenty of space between tables. We’ve already recommended this place to friends and family and will return ourselves in the area.

Popped in last Friday lunchtime for a snack. A bit out our or way, and our last visit was 20 yrs ago! We had a dog with us, so sat outside in the covered area. Everything very clean, and the BLT Panini's were made with fresh ingredients, and very tasty. Outside , so tea was in a cardboard cup, but decent nevertheless. Could not leave without having an Ice Cream, so had a large cone with 4 scoops of different flavoured ice cream,(For the reviewer who complained it is watery, it is gelato, kind of halfway between ice cream and sorbet). Very good indeed, well prepared fresh food, and great value. Staff were helpful, and would certainly make a detour to visit again

Thank God KFC Holbury is shut! The food was always disappointing – the chips were consistently cold, and the overall quality just wasn’t up to par with other locations. It’s a real shame because the staff were always friendly and did their best, but unfortunately, they had to find other work. Despite their efforts, this wasn’t one of the better KFC franchises. Hopefully, something better will take its place in the future.

I would give this tea room a zero, i asked for gluten free options, none offered ever, i asked for a can of lemonade i had just done a 7 mile walk with friends, i was refused as they only my offer a cream tea minimun spend £4.80. My friends ordered a cream tea each i asked for my lemonade to go on there order, the lady RUDELY said no can't do that either. So i sat thirsty and hungry while my friends ate there cream tea. I will never go back there, neither will my friends, why i could not have a can of lemonade is beyond me, do they not want customers?
