We are staying here right now and the staff have been incredible, from reception to the restaurant the service is what I would expect from a 5 star hotel, nothing has been too much bother and everyone has gone above and beyond their job to make sure we have had a great stay. The room is impressive, modern clean and tidy and fully stocked, we had dinner in the restaurant and everything from the steak to the curry was incredible, we would come here for food always if we lived closer. We travel a lot and this has been our best stay, best hotel, best staff and best food for years

Wanted to look at a new book release. Thought be nice to combine a trip into Ringwood with a coffee/cake in the book shop. Busy inside, found a seat. Looked at cakes(no interest/interaction) with the team serving. Drinks arrived and shortly after the cakes. What a disappointment . Cake was dry and virtually inedible. Table uncleared/uncleaned from previous occupants. No eye contact or conversation when drinks were brought to the table. Dead vibe. Won’t be repeating either for refreshments or book purchases.

Went in for a beer before a curry next door. Frosty reception from staff & customers. Returned to watch football but told was shutting at 10pm despite poster in window stating Wednesday closing was 10:30pm. After our last orders, people arrived & served, others came in with takeaway food. Clearly, non locally are not welcome .

I booked a table for 18 for my mum's surprise birthday meal. We all had a great time and she felt very special. Felt comfortable and looked after. The staff are always awesome and can have a laugh. Great communication prior to the night, could email whenever to ask questions. Food was on point as usual. I like hanging out in this place, and the breakfasts are lush aswel.

Me and my partner came to the high corner inn for a Mother’s Day Sunday lunch, we sat outside on the grass area which is full of seating. The drinks came out promptly followed by our amazing Mother’s Day lunch, I had the beef burger. Which was cooked to perfection and my other half had the lamb roast which was according to her amazing. We opted to share the cheese board for desert, which was a perfect mix of artistian cheeses, however Ruby our waitress was outstanding, really good asset. And nothing was too much for her.

Visited this pub for a 2nd day in a row, just for drinks - beer and wine. Nice pub, sat outside overlooking a public garden, watching the world go by. We’d noticed on their website ‘Happy Hour’ for cocktails between 5-7pm and 11pm-midnight. We opted for a dark & stormy before dinner. When my husband came back, he said the guy behind the bar was bringing the drinks and I asked how much, £17, which I thought sounded expensive. When I looked at website again, it said £10 for 2 the same. When the guy bought our drinks out (looked like he might be the Manager), we remarked on the price and he said ‘oh, we haven’t done that deal for a while now’. When I told him it was on their website, he questioned whether I had looked at the right pub (see photo attached). I said if we’d known, we certainly wouldn’t have spent £17 on 2 drinks. His response ‘I’ll see you right’. We never saw him again…….both of us went into the pub separately and he had conveniently disappeared!! Poor show and shoddy customer service. We’re still here for another night but you won’t be seeing us again….and by the way, it’s still on your website and I’ve since noticed that our drink was not premium on the menu and should have been £15, so we were overcharged on 2 counts!!

I wanted to try the New City as I have never been there before, and always use Chinatown opposite. I was disappointed with the food. The pancake rolls were greasy, the pork dish was packed out with vegetables, as was the hot and sour soup. On a positive note the crackers and the rice were good. I will carry on with Chinatown as the food is much better quality.

In a lot of ways, it’s a brilliant cafe, mainly because of its lovely community feel - it feels like a central hub for the community. Unfortunately, there are two major issues that let it down: 1) Extremely long queues and long waits to get served 2) Consistently unfriendly, unengaging, rude staff who ignore any attempts at a greeting or conversation, bark questions and instructions at you, and then ask you to give them a positive rating on the app “so they get paid more.” I don’t know of a cafe with more of a community feel, and at the same time, deeply unfriendly, sometimes quite rude and aggressive staff.
