Just take out on Saturday evening. Kung pao should really come with rice included. The duck was very dry and not worth 11.50£ for 1/4. Not terrible not great.

Online ordered with a number of items missing on arrival back home. When calling to raise my concern the attitude I got from the employee was horrendous then asked to speak to the manager and was basically told what do I expect them to do and then hung up the phone on me. To top it off the food was very poor with items that were stale and not fit for sale. Stay away from this take away and would never recommend to anyone

The worst Chinese food I have tasted it was like it days old and heated up in a microwave we didn’t eat it and had to get more food

We have used this takeaway for over 10 years and this is the first time we have regretted it. We both had a curry and the sauce was just gloop. It was very similar to the stuff you get from a chip shop. I think the place has changed hands as the food doesn’t compare to before. We won’t be returning.

Travel from Verwood as always as rather not use local Business but after last nights meal, will be going elsewhere very disappointed the food has fallen well below the usual quality.

Having used this takeaway for more than ten years and it normally being excellent , sadly the last two visits have been extremely disappointing. Bland food , burnt and chewy ribs , Singapore noodles with nothing hardly in them and not spicy in any way . The curry sauce which my family always look forward to was just cold and lumpy and tasted of powder , the prawn crackers were stale (again!). I’m assuming the business is under new ownership perhaps , if so it’s going to have to go some to regain its reputation because due to my experience it’s way off the mark at the moment . I don’t write bad reviews normally because I support small businesses, but when your takeaway for 4 people cost £ 63 and was as I stated above , I wouldn’t want someone else to waste that kind of money which I personally work very hard to earn .

Ordered a takeout : food was poor, beef chewy, chicken sauce like jelly, rice was inedible in one stodgy lump. Had to bin it. 😢

I've been going to Chinatown for many years but will be looking elsewhere for a takaway going forward. This weekend the egg fried rice I ordered was so stodgy I had to throw it away. The chips are always cold and re-cooked and the sweet and sour sauce was cold. We are rarely totally happy with our food in there lately and when the takeaway circa £30 you expect better value for money!

Great Chinese takeaway in Ringwood to use a nice menu to choose from with no problems.

Friendly quick service and takes card. Food nice but salt and pepper chips at £4.60 were small portion for the price. Pancake roll good also.

1. Fast service but that is it 2. Rice was so solid needed a knife to break it up 3. Crackers toast of oil and stale 4 . Beef chewy 5. Chicken curry ok but that where it ends 6. Used this takeaway years ago but moved out of area now moved back and used it for the first time never again . Also so much money for poor food . Better going to pub or restaurant than this place . Think not the same owners . Never coming back such a shame

what an improvement ,we always used to use china town takeaway for years but it went down hill terribly so have used a take away in ferndown instead .So we were quite apprehensive when a relation invited us over for a meal from China town...Boy wow what an improvement the food looked and tasted first class was perfectly cooked and piping hot .A hundread percent improvement so diners please give it another go i was amazed so far as to say it was better than the take away i use in Ferndown ,long may it continue .....

Do not use. Paid close just over £57 through their online ordering for a meal that we ended up never getting. What they did show was an order that was based on ours but missing major items, and came to c.£43! - so even their “order” was still £14 odd below what we had paid through their on-line ordering. The boy behind the counter didn’t apologise once and had an arrogant attitude. Genuinely looking forward to taking this lot through the small claims court and trading standards Avoid this place at all costs.

All very good and amazingly quick. No need to order ahead. Food is cooked in front of you. All fresh. Friendly staff and a clean warm place to wait. Although your food is always ready in a few minutes. And great Vege options.

This is the worst Chinese I have ever had, ordered duck that didn’t come with pancake rolls, special fried rice and kung po chicken. This order cost me nearly £40 Have a look at my special fried rice, doesn’t seem so special to me, not only had only 2 peas in it, it also tasted so bland.

Just look at my special fried rice, at least it actually came, cost me £5.00. Definitely not worth the money.

Staff are nice. The service is pretty decent. The drawback is that the food is not tasty and a bit bland. It needs a major upgrade! Additionally the food is overpriced!

Haven’t eaten from here in a while and was very disappointed with the food this time. The duck was greasy and the salt and garlic in the other dishes we had were so overpowering that each dish tasted the same 🙁

Overcooked. All the veg, noodles, beansprouts were soggy, limp, mushy and totally overcooked. Shame, it used to be good but this was awful. Only thing good was the crispy duck, I guess the more overcooked the better for that particular dish

I had the special curry which was fine only criticism I have they must of changed the recipe for sauce as it is sweet which did not go down well please less of the sweet sauce.

I’ve been ordering from Chinatown for quite a few years now and the food and service has never let me down. It’s great they even have a gluten free and vegetarian menu. Their salt and pepper chicken ( and even the veggie option ) is amazing, I’ve tried so many takeaways and it’s always soggy but Chinatown it’s always crispy and fresh. The service is always friendly and we never have to wait long. Would recommend if you are in the area 100% !!!!

Definitely the worst Chinese We ever had not one of the dishes finished. Had satay chicken then was really tough and chewy, crispy beef that was def not crispy just chewy again, smoked chicken again horrible, chips really cold hard and horrible, would definitely not recommend. avoid at all cost!

We had a meal from Chinatown yesterday (23.6.22) the prawn balls were so over cooked that the prawns were tough and very dark brown outside, the house special rice was a wet mush with tough meat and the chicken and mushroom meat was so tough and overcooked that it was binned. £22 wasted. This was the best Chinese in the past but the last 5 meals have been grim. After 25 years a customer, never never again.

Disappointed. We have been long standing customers and mostly enjoy the food. The standard, however, has unfortunately dropped. Inconsistent flavours, stale prawn crackers and finally burnt rice. When I called to inform them, I was told to eat the food and get a free rice next time. When I explained that the food had been served together and was inedible, I was told to just eat the food. Their food is ok at best, but their customer service/care is extremely poor. We will never eat here again!

Overall quite poor quality. Food tasted like it does when the pan isn't cleaned often enough. Rice had a strange twang to it like melted rubber. Prawn balls had gone a dark colour where they had absorbed far too much oil, they didn't taste good. I went here as New City across the road was closed, don't think I'll be doing that again. Only good thing was the spring roll.

Delicious, fast food. Fantastic range of veggie/vegan dishes and super quick and friendly service. We dropped in and waited, and only took about 10mins for our food to be ready. Lots of options!

3.5* would be fairer. my missus and I both liked (only liked) what we had and there were no leftovers. Would continue using as local take away.

Very good Chinese in Ringwood - I would say the best. It did change hands a couple of years ago and the quality of food and service dropped, so I can understand some of the negative reviews. However, they have got back to running a tight ship and the food is delicious. Give it a try you'll t be pleasantly surprised

All the dishes we ordered were delicious.

We've eaten Hong Kong style sweet & sour chicken street food in Hong Kong many times and Chinatown makes this exactly as if we are ordering from HK, compliments to the Chef.

First, it needs to be said that the staff was very nice, however, the food was not. The starters (aromatic duck and sprigrolls) were nice, but the mains were horrible. All sauces, but one, tasted and smelled like vinegar. It was so bad that we basically did not eat any of the mains. Also, their sweet and sour sauce, not sweet and sour, just really vinegary, as if they had not tasted the sauces before serving them. It is a shame, because we had really been looking forward to chinese, and then having to throw out £70 worth of food... Not OK.

Has been our favourite for many years. Never disappointed.

This has always been the best Chinese takeaway around, they don't deliver but I'm happy to collect, it's worth it!

So where to begin. China Town used to be a really good take away but recently they’ve really dropped the ball. Food 2/5 ordered salt/chilli chips and got BBQ ribs, not so great for the veggie in the family. After I had driven back to swap the food I got some limp looking unflavoured limp disgusting chips. Ordered some Singapore rice as well, now I’m no chef but I’m sure the rice should be a little soft when eating it, not stuck together in one big clump and undercooked. They weren’t even busy as well which is why it’s so disappointing. Would I go back, with time and time their standards dropping I will start heading over to the New China City and see how they do.

Was going to order a takeaway but the menu wasn't on the website. So went to Wongs Garden instead. Which was very nice.

Great menu, prepared quickly and a reasonable prices

We stayed at Sandy Balls Godshill and wanted a nice Chinese takeaway for Saturday night. Chinatown's food was so good we had it Sunday night too! We loved the charcoal flavour to the noodles, the chicken was perfectly cooked and was a large portion, the duck was also amazing. The food left us wanting more rather than feeling thirsty like we are used to greasy and salty, this was nothing like that... . We cannot recommend highly enough and now we are home we worry if we will be able to find something to compare as our local one doesn't come close.

Saturday night celebrations so fancied a Chinese... 1 hr wait (fine no issue) arrived and had to wait another 30mins (not ideal, but not the end of the world). Order was incorrect when checked at the till, they corrected it straight away (or so we thought). Got home and eagerly opened up the box... 3 dishes missing, gave us 2 other incorrect dishes, everything tasted really bland, no flavour, even the prawn crackers tasted like cardboard mixed with chemicals... how do you get prawn crackers wrong 🙄 Worst £50 I’ve ever spent! Note to self if your normal Chinese is shut (golden horse, Ferndown) then don’t bother, would rather not eat than pay for chinatowns food again! Such a shame as Chinatown was always our go to takeaway for the last 20 odd years but will definitely not be going back!

Food spot on, fast service we just turned up on a busy Friday evening and waited no more than 10 mins. Parking is always an issue but cannot fault the meal.

Vegetables with pork has no taste and flavour. Egg rise as well.

Chinatown takeaway cooked us 8 different meals on time at a good price with no fuss, no food leftover at he end, very good service, nice food.

Amazing food, fast delivery and reasonable prices. Personal favourite is the Lennon chicken which is easily the best around.

I've been coming here for over 30 years. They've moved both premises and with the times. I don't live in Ringwood now, so don't get go so often, but the food is great.

The food is always good here. The service is very quick and the staff are very quick and efficient at taking my order.

Worst Chinese I've ever had. No flavor bland is an understatement. Rice was soggy, all you could taste was the oil it was cooked in. Ribs tasted like rubber.

I've used this place regularly for a few months - and I kept using it because the food, price and service was good. But On my last visit it failed on both service and food. Where are the friendly staff, and has the chef changed - what a disapointment. I will go again, because this may be a one off, but I'll stock up on Gaviscom, just in case.

Well, what can I say? After many, many years visiting Sandy Balls in Fordingbridge, we stumbled upon Chinatown last week. As a vegetarian, the special separate Vegan/Vegetarian menu was absolutely wonderful. The Vegetarian Mock-Chicken is a revelation. Sadly I was only in the area for a few days, so didn't get to sample the Mock-Duck, but I will be sure to try it the next time I am in the area. I had the Salt & Pepper Mock-Chicken and Egg Fried Rice one evening, and Mock-Chicken Satay with Egg Fried Rice another night. It was wonderful value for money and the lady on the front desk was very helpful and friendly. I'm just sad I don't live nearer!!

Always have a good take away from here the do have some gluten free choices as well. Happy friendly staff, parking in road is limited when busy.

So fed up that once home, the order was wrong again. Should have checked, I know. But got a plate full of battered things and not the sweet and sour Hong Kong style as ordered (and I checked the screen to make sure they'd got it right when taking the order). Really, how hard can it be?

We ordered crispy duck which was dark brown and hard in places rather than crispy, the chicken balls were OK but a bit over cooked and the beef chow mien was all chopped up rarer than whole noodles and little beef. The crispy chilli beef was OK and the special fried rice was OK but had very few special bits in it. We usually use the other local takeway but thought we would try China town tonoght but were sadly disappointed...

Eat from here regularly. Good food, no msg and sulphites. Flavoursome, not over sweet. If their prawn crackers were better would give 5 stars.

Been using Chinatown for 20 years and always predictably superb. Today, having not had a takeaway for a while we couldn't have been more disappointed. Something has changed? The owners maybe? Food was tasteless, crispy seaweed wasn't! Chicken was like plastic and beef chewy. What has happened here Chinatown???? Won't be back again I'm afraid :-(

Very good food, very delicious food, and no MSG, no coloring, the kitchen is very clean, the counter staff is very polite, I will order again, I recommend it to everyone

I phoned Ordered and paid only to find out they don't deliver so would have to wait for a refund which i was a bit gutted. But then i got a call back letting me know that there chef will deliver it to me which I was so happy about and impressed it only took 20 minutes. Vegetable spring rolls were nice but they were tiny and more empty than full for the price. Egg fried rice wasn't nice too fruity for me. Sweet and sour ribs were more bone than meat, sauce was brown. Vegetable stir fry was yummy but mushrooms were really greasy. Chips were cold and had a reheated taste. Quatre of duck was yummy and moist but it's on a bone leg not cut up it came with pancakes cucumber and spring onions hoi sin sauce. Prawn crackers at nice and thin but no prawn flavour oily taste instead. Most items leeked in the bag. I only went to this Chinese as new city opposite this one wasn t open for some reason.

Their computer broke. They left me standing at the counter ignoring me completely whilst chaos ensued. After several minutes I left. Empty handed, so I don't know how the food tastes.

We think this is the best takeaway we've ever been to .Always good food , very efficient and never too long to wait , more than happy to recommend .

1st time we've had a takeaway from Chinatown in a while... very dissapointing, so salty, not up to the standards that it used to be ..won't go back:-(

the best Chinese you'll ever have

While on holiday in the area (3 times a year) we had our usual takeaway from here and it was as good as ever. I had a Beef Chp Suey and the Beef was plentiful and nice and tender, a Special Chow Mein which also was very good and a portion of Stewed Mushrooms (Mushrooms in Gravy) which was full of whole baby button mushrooms. The whole meal was tasty and very reasonable in price. I look forward to my next meal from here when next on holiday.

Seaweed....too sweet. Duck rolls.....tough. Ribs with Capital sauce.....salty. Special Chow mein.....boring, Other dish labelled 41 (deep fried chilli beef strips) turned out to be salt and pepper chicken, neither of which was ordered or charged for....VERY salty indeed. Altogether a great disappointment as we only live 5 mins walk away.

Whilst I don't live in this area. We eat here whenever we are in the area.
