Best Chinese food I’ve had in years!

Not got a clue what the bad reviews about because this is a banging chinese. And working up and down the country ive tried at least 60 places. This may be the very best! Singapore fried rice and chow mein.👍

I have been eating Chinese food for 60 years having lived in Hong Kong and I have never had a takeaway that was so bad I couldn't eat it. I had a simple dish as I was in a hurry and new to the area. I googled the best Chinese takeaway near me and this place had good reviews. I just had the house rish dish with chicken, pork and Beef. What can I say, the beef was chewy and the Pork was red and totally uncooked. I have never thrown my meal in the bin before. Maybe they were distracted or in a rush but that's no excuse for such a disgusting meal.

This is by far our favourite Chinese takeaway restaurant in New Milton. Great friendly staff, amazing food quality, and quite reasonably priced for what you get. You can order in person, over the phone or on their app. Easy to deal with, and always have a pleasant experience.

This is our local 'go to' when we get takeaway food. The staff are always working at top speed and the food is always excellent. Tonight there was a breakdown in communications regarding one of the dishes we ordered but it was replaced and delivered almost immediately! Impressive service and very much appreciated. Thank you team Dream Gourmet. You continue to be our 'go to' for takeaways 😊

We have just enjoyed a very nice meal from this restaurant. Not greasy ,each dish had a discernable taste. The food was still hot when it was delivered. I will definatly be using again:)

First time using as down for a weekend break. Very easy to order and pay over the phone and delivered direct to the door in a very timely manner. Telephony manner and driver attitude were excellent. Food was very nice and good value, so an altogether great experience.

Despite being insanely busy when I'd visited on a Saturday evening they got my order ready very quickly and also the food was very nice from here.

First visit and collected from restaurant and was given free prawn crackers which was a nice touch - Food cooked in front of you in an open plan kitchen which I found a big positive as you can see your order being cooked fresh - Ordered two completely different meals and both were piping hot and had excellent flavour and quality - Will certainly be going back and hopefully have a similar experience.

Best Chinese always cooked fresh to order, nice open kitchen so able to see how clean and tidy food preparation is, been going for years and highly recommend, plus they cater for gluten free which is always a bonus as my wife has coeliac disease.

Delicious, fresh, was very good. Enjoyed thoroughly. Quick and thorough, running through the order, great customer service.

Really disappointed with our takeaways last night. Food was poor and when we called to inform them, they simply didn’t care! Sadly won’t be going there again!

This review is based on my experience on the day and could be different for you, but I doubt it. Have only been to this take away once… so far, but certainly plan to visit again and soon. This is a Chinese, Thai, and other similar countries take away but they cook it with natural ingredients and no MSG. I’m not allergic to MSG or have any food intolerances but just wanted to see what the food was like without those three letters….. it was superb, tasty, well cooked and well worth a visit. Being unsure of what Chinese and the other dishes they cook without MSG would be like I was keen to try it. I had my favorite Squid with salt and chili and it was different very different. Very tasty and you can taste the naturalness of the dish. I didn’t wake up in the middle of night with my tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth ! 🤣 All I can say is visit this take away, review the menu before you buy, you should not be disappointed and you can see your meal being cooked right before your eyes. They do do delivery, but never had a delivery as I live to far for them to do this for me. Noticed on other reviews that the delivery times vary but no negative comments about the food that I can see.

We have been regular customers for over 10 years. We ordered a takeaway on this particular evening which included Phad thai. It looked like brown mush and nothing like the picture on the menu so that went in the bin it smelt of nothing and looked dangerously unsavoury. The vermicelli was was not up to the usual standard from there. The chicken in green pepper and black green sauce the chicken looked like it had sat around for a day or two so that went in the bin. Breaded Chicken wings in spicy salt and chilli, they were burnt and the chicken inside was inedible as rock hard. £26 down the drain.

Very good food as always! Update: I have used this takeaway for years and the food has always been good. A couple of the meals over the last year have not been as great as it normally is. This time the duck was lovely but the curry looked like pale green custard and chow mein was sticky and stodgy. Such a shame because the food is usually very good.

Best Chinese restaurant in New Milton. I particularly love the king prawn chow mein every Sunday night…it is so good i buy another portion to reheat & enjoy monday nights 😆

Very rude and blunt woman on phone. No patience on the phone just wanted me off the line to take new orders before explaining address ect.

Tried here based on a friends recommendation. The foods decent enough and staff are friendly. Delivery time was a little slow but worth the wait.

Use this takeaway regularly, it's food is delicious and it's menu extensive, and there don't use MSG's

We ordered a meal yesterday 16th of October for delivery well .spent £40 Won't be repeated...we were recommended this place .but Never again ....sorry .it was not nice !

Hmm, not so dreamy. Although the pancakes rolls were good, our ribs were underwhelming (small portion size and over cooked) all the sauces were of the artificial/ready mixed/too much colouring type and the batter on our deep fried squid, instead of being light and crispy was hard and crusty (weird). On the other hand, meal was ready on time and the service was good

Beware of delivery charge of £2 demanded on the front door by delivery person. My order was paid over the phone by card. No mention of on the door cash charge was mentioned and never has been before, as the same as all takeaways I use.. I'm furious.. my son paid the charge from his pocket money as I was out and I never carry cash.. I complained and the owner came round to explain his policy..he was very rude and aggressive.. he gave me the £2 back.... the food has been terrible tha last 2 times I have ordered and items missing from the first time.. the door cash charge is obviously a con for the owner to avoid paying his drivers properly.. all other takeaways in the area, if there is a delivery charge, add it to the overall bill, over the phone as I do. The owner was very arrogant, aggressive and rude at my home...

Had a set meal for 6 people. It was fabulous, so much quality food and our friends loved it too. Definitely go here again.

Second time meals have been a disappointment,all other meals previously were the best we've had chips last night were undercooked and cold chicken slices were thin and burnt round the edges so will think twice about ordering again.

Something has gone wrong, two very disappointing meals with entire ingredients missing!

Dire. Charged £12 per head for Meal for 3 (same size as meal for 2) so was a rip-off. meat was indeterminate and wobbly (yeugh!!!).

I'm really disappointed. I ordered a Kung Po Pork today and as shown in the picture below, it was a fly in my dish.

Ordered a Duck Thai Green curry, was by far the worst I've ever had. Completely tasteless, gloopy, duck was fatty and wasn't even warm. Immediately got in my car and returned it, I told woman at the counter (who was occupied by Facebook on her phone), she grabbed a plastic spoon, dunked it in the dish and shrugged her shoulders. Luckily the manager/ owner came running over and apologised and happily refunded me. This dish should not be on the menu.

A total inability to get orders right, stuff missing and then promising to give it to you free next time (which never happens).I even gave up ordering it over the phone because verbal communications has been difficult at times. Even when going to the takeaway in person and ordering it over the counter they still get it wrong.The food is ok, but the continued errors just ruined it in the end so I've gone to one of the other many Chinese restaurants in New Milton that are very happy to take my order and get it correct.

Fast delivery (Friday evening), not cheap but great quality. Order was 100% correct, friendly delivery guy and some useful allergy advice when ordering.

Finally!!!!! Such good Chinese couldn't believe how good it was honestly cant remember the last time i had something this good, i had the tastes of it for the remainder of the night. Also i ordered a hot and spicy soup and this has became my favourite every time i go by the takeaway i cant resist from buying it, its honestly so incredible. Thank you Johnny and your amazing team.

Used this place on Thursday. Chicken balls gorgeous lovely batter, their curry sauce is lovely . Was delivered within the 30 mins promised, food was hot. Would thoroughly recommend. Give them a try, this was my 1st time and I'm definitely using them again.

I’m sorry, but, that was THE most disgusting Chinese takeaway Iv ever had!!!! I normally order from The Honeymoon in Highcliffe, but, their delivery was over 2 hours, so we decided to try Dream Gourmet..... yuk. Never again.

Food was cold on arrival, crispy Mongolian lamb was burnt oily inedible bits of who knows what!Chow mein was greasy! When I called to complain the lady on the phone was rude and said. Well you’ve got the food now we won’t be returning it. I expressed my frustration further, I received an £8.50 refund of a £28 order!! Not impressed. Do not order from here! Took over an hour to arrive and was inedible rubbish!

Have been ordering our Chinese takeaways from here for years and have never had a bad one. The food is very fresh and always hot. The delivery is also very quick. We normally get a takeaway every week, which will either be a Chinese, Indian or Thai and this is definitely the best Chinese in the local area (New Milton/Highcliffe) I have tried them all!

Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad and tonight’s meal was bad! Ordered our usual, one being chicken in black bean sauce and it was literally just chicken! No peppers and onions like there usually is so tasted very bland and watery. Not happy, in fact, pretty disgusting!

Cons: ordered a green thai curry, pork chow mein, wan ton soup - all very lacking in flavour. Unfortunately The curry was just like runny milk. Pros: fast delivery and nice prawn crackers.

Normally really good and fresh. Unfortunately they got two dishes wrong this time. Which did spoil the meal as they were starters. Appreciate they were very busy being a Saturday night but the lady on the phone was having trouble with the language barrier. Perhaps she was new. We’re still go again and like I said normally excellent.

Always get my takeaways from here. I love that they don't use MSG as it's so hard to find Asian cuisine without MSG. Always tastes great, reasonably priced. So many options ranging from Thai to Malaysian.

Have always had top food from here, I used to chop and change as other places had dishes that i liked, but when the standards dropped in other places Dream Gourmet has always been good.

I'm a regular customer at Dream Gourmet (every couple of weeks) and I have always found their food to be consistently good and reasonably priced. The service is quick and efficient.

We ordered a take away and were told it would be delivered within 45 minutes and it ended up being 1 hour and 15 minutes before it was delivered. We had to pay a hefty £6 for the delivery too. When we opened the bag and got out the order, it was wrong. When we phoned Dream Gormet to explain that the order was incorrect, the blame was put on us as customers as we had allegedly ordered it incorrectly! There was no sorry, no offer of a replacement meal or refund. Very rude. Terrible customer service. Will not be ordering again.
