Great coffee, cakes and staff!! There are many nice places to have a coffee in Ringwood, but this is the best, always friendly and welcoming.

This is a lovely, spacious coffee shop and the staff are very friendly. Admittedly, there is usually only one barista on duty, but it has never been a problem when I have visited and the coffee is delicious.

Lovely little coffee shop in the heart of Ringwood. Good quality coffee, savouries & cakes. The only thing letting this shop down, on every visit there is only one member of staff working, so the queue is very long and they only serve the coffee in takeaway cups as not enough staff to clear the tables. Get another staff member in there, then it’ll be 5* perfection!!

Coffee#1 have lovely coffee, just could have been warmer, my personal preference is very hot coffee, but it was still good. There wasn’t a great cake selection, but the cakes we had were nice and they were fresh. There was only one barista working behind the counter while we were there and she was very busy, but she had a lovely personality and was very friendly and meticulous in keeping the counter area clean as she worked. The cafe was clean and cosy.

I’ll try to keep it simple and help celiacs at the same time Your cake cabinet should not have gluten free cakes in with gluten cakes and a fan going on inside It’s causing CROSS CONTAMINATION!!!!!!!! However u have a vegan/vegetarian cake under a glass dome on its own,how does that effect someone’s health ???????? Celiacs can end up in hospital if they are contaminated Your staff are rude and uneducated Re guarding this law I fully suggest you send them in a course

Went for a quick breakfast, bacon roll was really good, coffee was too, served quickly and efficiently by a friendly staff member, although it was reasonably early and it was quiet.

After queuing for 15 minutes we did use the sanitizer and scanned the NHS QR code.We were not asked if we had done this . Tables were eventually cleared but were not sanitized and the place was generally a mess. This venue will be shut if the virus gets worse and the staff are not helping the cause .We have visited many times and we are very disappointed .

My mum and I were going out for a coffee and had originally decided on Cafe Nero. But the Barista was too busy talking to another family and not taking orders. We decided to go to Coffee Number 1 instead and I’m so glad we did. They were ten minutes away from shutting but the staff did not rush off, they even said we could drink in but seeing as they were closing we decided to take out. They will definitely be having our custom again. :)

Been to Ringwood, winton and southbourne and all are lovely. Great choice of drinks and delicious cakes. Yeh biscoff lotus cheesecake is amazing!!!!

A very comfortable coffee shop tucked away in the heart of Ringwood which serves extremely good coffee and good food.

The coffee shop when we arrived did not have much of a queue. 12mins on still not been served to be honest. I actually want to leave but after queuing for so long it will feels that I need a coffee just to feel that I got something out of the wait.

Dropped in for coffee, hope people visit this coffee shop as the coffee is excellent, cannot recommend more highly. Staff friendly.

Great coffee, warm friendly atmosphere, always clean and well kept- often big chains lose the quality of smaller coffee shops and their appeal but coffee #1 is the perfect example of how it should be! Thank you Grace for making every morning more enjoyable!

Came in last week and had the best service I have ever had at a coffee shop. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable of the products they where serving. The shop was very nice and clean and well presented. Could not find a single thing wrong with my experience. 15/10 would vist again and I do look forward to visiting again to receive the same level of service they provide.

Great coffee, has a bit of taste. Great Portuguese tarts and selection of Danish pastries. Slightly dark premises.

No newspapers to read except two day old ones, service very slow even though it was quite quiet! And coffee was poor. This place has gone downhill since it opened a year or so ago! One to avoid!!

We come here often as they do the best coffee around. They make my coffee exactly as I like it (a small but strong Americano). Love the Portuguese tarts as well. Staff are always friendly.

I am utterly appalled at how some people drag their children up these days. I felt compelled to write my first review as I cant compliment the staff and manager enough after what I’ve witnessed today.

I popped in today whilst running errands, and was served by a lovely blonde lady! She was very smiley, as was the other lady behind the counter. I tried the seasonal coffee which I had never tried before. It’s a must if you go to this coffee shop. Very relaxed atmosphere, and clean. I’ll be back, thanks girls.

This coffee shop is simply the best one in town by far.

We visited virtually every day during our 18 day stay at nearby red shoot. Coffee was always good if a bit expensive. It can be slow getting served in mornings when just open as it only seemed to have on staff on at that time and one day it took 20 minutes to get our coffee. They do have a loyalty card which is worth getting but does not take the new forest discount card which is a shame. Dog friendly outside of cafe.

I really enjoyed my visit to this cafe. The staff are so friendly and attentive - even on a sunny and busy Saturday. If you’re in Ringwood, it’s worth a visit!

This was a really good place but the poor reviews are true. I ordered the rhubarb lemonade as it sounded so nice. When they made it, it was 75% tap water, a squirt of rhubarb syrup, topped up a cm of soda water. The worst drink ever, put this with miserable staff and dirty tables gives a terrible experience. Seriously, there are many great coffee shops in Ringwood, do yourself a favour and go to any of the others.

Called in whilst passing for coffee today. My first visit. Great coffee and staff efficient and friendly.

We used this nearly every morning whilst on holiday so it must do good coffee ! there were sometimes quite a wait early morning to get served as only one staff ever seemed to be on and if you had 3 or 4 people ahead of you, we could wait 15 minutes to get the coffees.They do a loyalty card which requires 10 coffees to get one free which takes the edge a bit off prices of over £3 for a large coffee.

What has happened to this place? It used to be friendly, welcoming and clean, but now it’s dirty and the staff are rude and unhelpful. The manager, a man with a red beard seems to flit around doing very little whilst everyone else chats amongst themselves. Nobody seems to be running this cafe and there are always tables needing clearing and the staff seem untrained and unmotivated. Last year it was great, my Mother still asks about this cafe. We came here because of the staff and the cakes and now it’s poorly run and dirty.

Good coffee, good selection of cakes and biscuits. Also various 'lunchtime' snacks. Big seating areas including an upstairs area. Loads of books about to sit and read including lots of books for children

So it’s okay for the serving staff to snigger at a customer and say “ it’s not that difficult to pick a coffee is it?” When they are looking at the menu. And sneer “ooh well done” all sarcastically when the customer choses then laugh at them.

Nice selection of beverages and treats. Also, lite bite type lunches. Some outside seating for smokers and an inside seating area for dogs and their owners.

I love the choice of drinks here from coffee, to fresh juices to smoothies. They also have quite a few food options (more vegan savoury food would be good).The staff are always super friendly!

This used to be a well run chain coffee shop but recently there seems to have been a complete change of staff and it is not as good as before. The main issue is the staff are not very quick or efficient, they seem to get flustered by any order that is not just straightforward coffee, they are unaware of when a queue grows and don't do anything to speed up service, they have a standard 'sorry for the wait' greeting. It can take 10 mins to get served if you are unlucky enough to have more than one person in front of you and, heaven forbid, they want a warmed sandwich. Very often lots of tables are uncleared as well. The woman who makes the coffee is fortunately still good at her job but the two guys (one of whom is quite surly) just have one gear, being slow. It's shame as it's a nicely done out place and the coffee is good - cakes are pricey though!

I go into Coffee #1 nearly everyday. I don’t normally write reviews on here due to being in hospitality myself however I think it’s needed on this occasion. I normally go in and get greeted with a smile by Megan and Harley and a couple of others I don’t know the name of. But today was completely different to this, I got greeted by a man who seemed to be wearing a shirt rather than t shirt (I guess this means they are higher up) and I felt like he just wanted to get my order as quick as possible and get me out of there, two people on the coffee machine seemed slightly clueless. I guess this is just a slight blip and will no doubt get back to how it was it’s just such a shame as I always feel so welcome there normally. Megan does a fantastic job of running her staff and I don’t even think she is of high status. I think you need to appreciate what you have already there. I shall be returning but felt uncomfortable this time!

Pouring with rain on a Saturday afternoon, so popped in here as it was the nearest to the car park. Haven't been here before, and although it was busy, the staff were friendly and we had great coffee, me, a cappuccino and my son a mocha. Deciding on the cakes was a problem, but I had an orange semolina(?), square and my son had a huge slice of chocolate cake, followed by a small square of Christmas cake!! He's a bit piggy, but sickeningly skinny as well!

Needed a hot drink given up coffee and normally go for Starbucks as they do a Match Latte, to my surprise coffee#1 had it advertising outside - although seen the place I’ve never been in - staff didn’t look to happy to be working there I must say, girl who served me could’ve even be bothered to smile and didn’t listen properly to my order - lucky for her and the business the lady making my coffee had better customer facing skills, looked for a badge and caught her name was Sam - big smile and could tell she cared as my coffee was presented beautifully and tasted great - shame about the rest - the girl that served me was then ignoring new customers coming in and walking around with slopped shoulders - other guy came out of the back again not looking very happy - staff need some lessons and think Sam needs to be teaching them - well done same you got the shop extra marks - Shame about your team

Two staff behind the counter, only 3 people in front of me in the queue but it took 15’ to get served. What a laboriously slow system and not really worth the wait. The coffee was bitter. The Himalayan Spring Breakfast tea was nice and I enjoyed the Potuguese tart so much I went back for another one but after another 10’ queueing I gave up (only two people in front of me this time). The cafe was very quiet and they really have to do better than this.

It was hot day when out with my elderly mum and 2 young granddaughters so thought we would pop in for a cold drink and cake .

Love the flavour & strength of the flat white coffee which we had with the delicious Curried Chickpea, spinach & mango chutney sandwich which was toasted. I am so glad my friend enjoyed this healthier option as much as I did.

It was very busy when we went in today. They seemed very short on staff, but we got well looked after and the coffee was lovely.

I very much like this coffee shop. It isn't the cheapest granted, but it has a rather nice atmosphere. They also cater for my lactose intolerance with an unsweetened soya milk (when many chains use a much less healthy sugar-based soya milk). There is also a nice collection of books that you can browse through if wanted. The staff are lovely and friendly also.

Popped in on a spontaneous trip, staff were lovely. Cake was delicious, smoothie were good and the caramel hot chocolate was the best I've ever had!

Nice environment. Few customers , to be fair it was a hot sunny day and the beach was probably more popular. It could however have been the quality of the coffee we were served, one of the weakest, flavourless Americano I have ever been served.

Ran into an old school friend and we decided to catch up over a coffee. I hadn’t tried Coffee #1 before but we thought we’d give it a go (it was a late Thursday afternoon, and it was quiet inside). The blonde woman at the counter ignored us as we walked in, conversing with a friend of hers who had ordered a coffee. They both remained chatting for an extended period of time, despite the fact the woman already had her coffee, and that a queue of people had started forming. They constantly kept looking back at the queue before continuing their conversation, phones out and talking about things on social media. The friend seemed more concerned than the staff member about holding things up and eventually left, and the blonde barista reluctantly wandered back to us (no smile, no hello, appearing quite standoffish & like she’d prefer to be anywhere else). The coffees weren’t particularly special. Won’t be returning as we felt unwelcome.

Stopped in for a coffee before doing some shopping in Sainsbury’s. ordered a latte, staff were very slow. Maybe as it was a bit early and they were half asleep. Latte ok.

Absolutely terrible! I was ripped off, I paid £3.30 for a small drink that was mostly ice and milk with a tiny tiny bit of coffee, it didn't even fill the half pint glass I was given it in! I was out with a friend and thought I would get much more. I thought the shop was better than this? I did complain but nothing was done, I felt very disrespected. Appalling quality of the cafe; as we came in we found most of the tables full of other people's rubbish, I had to clean my own table just to get a seat, there was no excuse for this as the shop was not busy at the least!!

Terrible, just terrible. Came for a nice coffee and chat with a friend and that was all destroyed by the awful quality of the drinks. I ordered a smoothie: it was not blended, in a tiny glass which could of been filled alot more. I spent £3.10 on something which was worth less then £0.80. it was extremely over priced and apauling quality, very, very dissatisfied and disappointed. I thought this place would be better as of the high prices. The state of the actual shop was awful as well : tables weren't clear and it just seemed dirty and unkept too! An absolute ripoff!!!

Probably the best coffee in Ringwood in my opinion. The only reason why I gave it a lower rating is because the service is slow if they are busy because they only have a limited number of staff. The coffee makes up for it. Great location and comfortable cafe

Shud stock Dorset apple cake for a start. But the hot food is so limited and unappetising. Ok for just a coffee as good size cup for the price and service isn’t very good either so much choice in ringwood they need to up their game on those issues

I visit Coffee #1 on a regular basis because its coffee is fantastic, staff are friendly & the ambience is great.

Did not even realise it was there until I got lost looking for a local shop.

I don't usually leave reviews but I felt that this establishment deserves a mention. I arrived on a busy Saturday and was greeted by a very efficient and friendly staff member who informed me that I'd be seen as soon as possible. I only had to wait a few minutes and was greeted by a lovely young woman who took my order with a lovely smile. The cake was yummy and the coffee was made perfectly. I was asked at my table if I'd like another drink and they were very attentive to not just me, but everyone. The decor is quirky and modern and there was plenty of seating. As I left one of the team waved me goodbye, which was a really lovely touch. This seems a very popular place and I will definitely go back.

The slowest service imaginable, the staff could not of moved slower if they tried, despite the shop being nearly empty.

A relatively new addition to the coffee scene in Ringwood. Situated in a pedestrian area opposite Sainsburys. On two floors with plenty of seating and a good ambience. A good coffee blend is served along with a selection of tasty nibbles.

We came here for a day out and there are a lot of coffee shops in Ringwood, but this one caught our eye because it was busy and it seemed inviting. The staff were very attentive and genuinely asked us about our day. We had a great coffee and amazing cake. This is our new favourite coffee shop.

Popped in for a coffee and a snack - had never visited before but was extremely impressed by the friendly, smiling staff who took the time to chat which made for a very welcoming atmosphere. The interior is stylish and clean and the service was quick and efficient, especially compared to Caffè Nero which always seems painfully slow!

Visiting my 80 yr old parents today they were excited to try a new coffee shop. We left disappointed by rude inflexible insensitive staff. I have a small dog but seeing no signs saying she was not welcome we went in - my parents sat at a table right in front of the counter with the dog- the shop was v empty so the dog was v visible and stroked by at least 2 customers while I was ordering. The 1st we knew about NO DOGS policy was after we had finished cake and half way through coffee when a staff member can over announced policy and said we had to go outside- when asked could we just finish drinks she said no,picked up drinks and took them outside. The only table free was next to 2 tables with smokers on them...needless to say we did nt stay to finish drinks- with plenty of choice in Ringwood where dogs are welcome we won't be going back to this chain

Visited twice while on holiday nearby. It was the best coffee house we have ever been to. As soon as we walked in the staff acknowleged us and made us feel welcome. The range if coffees etc was great, but the range of cakes and pastries was absolutely the best we have ever seen and tasted! Can highly recommend the individual cheesecakes! Seating is comfy and plenty of it. The premises spotless and crockery clean and good sized cups. Forget all the other coffee chains they are not a patch on this one.

Pleasant interior, good selection of light bites and drinks - ordered some ciabattas (good) tea and coffee, all nice but nothing outstanding, however, pleasant and helpful staff turn the average into the good.

Stopped by last week for coffee, it is close to supermarket so did a bit of people watching while sitting in the outside area. Coffee was good and the premises are quite impressive, with friendly staff.

This has become my favourite local coffee shop in Ringwood, partly because it is conveniently situated opposite Sainsbury's, so is convenient. I like the eclectic, vintage decor and spacious layout. The coffee is great & they have some delicious, tempting baked treats on offer (a personal favourite is the cheesecake). I also enjoy their green tea, which is served in a tea pot with built-in strainer. The staff are friendly and helpful. I do like the fact that on a hot day they have retractable sliding doors to allow a good flow of fresh air.

Popped in one afternoon for a quick coffee. There is plenty of choice for coffee shops in the town but this one always seems to be busy. It has an outside seating area but is still under cover so you dont have to worry about the rain. The coffee was nice and it is a good place to meet with friends. The decor of the place is smart and it always looks clean inside.We will probably visit again.

This is currently the newest coffee outlet in Ringwood and it is very good. The location in the Meeting House Square across from Sainsburys and near the central car park is excellent. The decor is very good with a mixture of different woods and brick. There is a range of seating including some outside and on the 1st floor.

I have recently been put off going into coffee shops from bad experience however when I decided to drop in to this new haven for coffee lovers my love for them had arose again!

This lovely place recently opened in ringwood, some were unhappy with another coffee place but I was pleased as I'm always up for a good cup of coffee!

I'm a great coffee lover but I'm amazed that yet another coffee place has opened in Ringwood. Presumably these companies all do their business plans before going ahead but there are an awful lot of them now in such a small place. The coffee is good and the cakes may well be delicious but we went for 2 of the savoury options which we'd both disappointing. The big negative is that the toilet opens directly off the seating area. Surely having converted a former shop unit to 'create' a coffee bar they could have worked in an extra door between the toilet and the eating/drinking area!

We have visited this delightful coffee house every week for a month. Kind and helpful staff, delicious cake and coffee. Our 11 year old particularly enjoys the deluxe hot chocolate. Always a relaxing experience, thank you. 😊

Visit to Ringwood to do some retail therapy and came across Coffee#1. Looks new but then it might just be well looked after. Good selection of drinks and eats, I settled for the Flat bread with chicken and other great fillings. One Americano and Cappuccino was what we required. Took what seemed like ages to get served, no queue, just seemed busy. That was the one negative. The staff were friendly and the coffee was excellent. My flat bread sandwich was superb. Comfortable and clean, relaxed atmosphere makes you want to stay for a while.

Ah the dark and mysterious art that is Coffee making....Every morning I go downstairs and make a cup of coffee, it does not take me much longer than the time it takes the kettle to boil.
