The best restaurants in Mid Sussex South East

The Royal Oak took a dinner booking more than 6 weeks in advance. The day before the booked reservation, we rang them to confirm the booking time only to be told they could not accommodate us. They said the chef had been taken sick. After some researching we found out the Oak does not open on the day we had booked. It all seemed a bit odd, and wondered when they were going to tell us 🤔

Good value food with efficient service

First time visit to a pub with great character, cheerful friendly staff and full of customers who were enjoying a good time. If it's like this all the time I will be back again soon. Had a meal as two couples and no complaints, food was excellent along with the service and the complimentary warm bread was amazing... Thank you to the team.. Ps dog friendly!!

The food was a similar quality you'd find in a high end restaurant in London and the service was fantastic. A nice pub with a homely feel! Would highly recommend

I last had a drink in here some 25+ years ago and just randomly called in on the way past tonight in the hopes of getting a roast dinner .well what can I say service was friendly and welcoming , the food was amazing . Very highly recommended

We had an amazing time with my son and his friend! They were both thrilled with the delicious pizza, and their smiles said it all. It's always a joy to share such fun moments together!

I DIDN'T even Get chance to Even get my Pizza The Person Who TRIED to take my Order KEPT getting my Card Details Wrong !!! So I GAVE Up sadly you could tell that English wasn't his first language ! I Don't think I'm going to BOTHER Ordering From There AGAIN !!

Avoid this Chinese .. thought we’d try again as our local but wish we hadn’t .. food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering, which I knew was a bad sign as if Prepared freshly It would take longer. Food was pile, an anemic looking, lacked flavor And the squid was dry batter and looked old. We also found two long hairs around the packaging. Definitely not be going back!

Recently under new management (since the old reviews on here) this place is excellent and worth a try again really good food

Very long queue. Dirty tables and toilets. Staff seemed unhappy and disinterested. Won’t bother in the future. Not the usual Costa experience

Lovely quiet pub, excellent food. Nikki gave excellent service with a nice smile. The pub/inn has a lovely atmosphere with happy to help staff. After a few pints, I had the special of the day. Pork belly with extra skin on chips. Wow, pork came with rice, asparagus, courgette and peppers. One of the best meals I've had this year.

Short staffed again.... Will only do take away cups as they've not enough staff to clean tables..... Still charge sitin prices though.... Had to have my coffee from paper cups. Not a good experience....I won't be back

Malcolm was so welcoming with his bright smile. I knew this was the place for me to get my pizza. Not sure about James as he supports Liverpool. But Malcom was a legend

This is a great pub with lovely food! All the staff were very friendly and a great menu! Also a fantastic size garden for the summer!
