I had a great cake and flat white the other day here, staff are very attentive and it was a very hospitable experience

Very pleasant and efficient staff. They worked really hard under pressure. Food and drink were great.

Paid 8:50 for 2 takeaway Coffees yesterday evening. Without doubt the worst Costa Coffee I've ever tasted. Bitter and tasted like the water was tainted. If I'd have had more time I'd have taken them back and asked for a refund. Costa sort this out.

Very quick and efficient service

I hated this place. The sandwich we bought was disgusting and the coffee was cold. I won't be recommending it to anyone ever. I certainly won't be going anywhere near it in future. I think Greg's would have been a better choice.

This Costa Coffee branch, located within a service station, maintains the brand's expected higher prices compared to high street locations. During my visit, there was only one staff member attending to both orders and coffee preparation. While the service was slower as a result, it's important to note that the delay was not the fault of the staff member, who was doing their best to manage.

Cute little place, people are always nice. Coffee is good sometimes bad others depending on who is serving. Great place to go when charging the car.

Came in for evening coffee and toasties with my dad whilst waiting to go for event nearby. Not just did we enjoy our coffees and toasties but barrista Rhys kindly provided boiling water to refill hot water bottle used by my dad who has a bad back. Great customer service, thank you. 😊

We stopped by at this particular Services Area on our way back to London, as some of us were getting hungry. Since we travelled with a pax of 9 adults and 5 children, the handling could be quite troublesome between toilet visits and handling of food. Hence, we ended up at Costa Coffee, as they are more spacious, and have more tables and chairs to accommodate us. Someone,(no name mentioned here) bought some vegan burgers from Burger King, and decided to keep it under wrap. True indeed, the sharp and intelligent 3 year old Aulya noticed the wrappings, and innocently asked, "Is it Halal?" And for that, she was constantly fed with french fries, to assure complicity!!

Lovely little coffee shop within an otherwise rather bland old fashioned service area. The staff are lovely and they provide a great service even when extremely busy. We never pass by without stopping for our tasty toasties & coffee whenever we are on our travel to East Sussex

If you want overpriced coffee in the cold, this is the place for you. In fairness, it was a bitterly cold day but the fact that the site did not close their doors properly made it very unpleasant to sit there. I don't know if this was a technical issue or not. The coffee was okay but we were charged more than usual. I am guessing that this was because service stations are notoriously costly, taking advantage of a bit of a captive audience. Generally best to avoid services but sometimes one needs to take a break on a long journey.

Nice one next to the M23. I have been stopped here for many times going to Brighton for morning coffee always forget to review. This morning i managed 🤣 lovely coffee and hot food. friendly members of stuff.

Rude staff, employee talked over me as I explained that I wanted an iced Americano he told me I wanted a Frappe. Watched him slam other customers food down and be rude to others ordering. Dirty seating area. Would not recommend

The Barista in training (unfortunately no name, but tall and blonde) was awesome & very friendly and the coffe a (large cappuccino with chocolate sprinkles) was on point get this woman a name tag already

Rude Staff. Shut off the seating area whilst we were still sitting there! Gave us no warning, didn't say anything but kept closing it with our stuff in there everytime we got up for the loo or to grab food. Acknowledgement amd a heads up would be nice.

They aren’t even worthy of 1-star. The staff (inside) area serving and making coffees are extremely rude and unfriendly. Will not be recommending or returning 😠

Terrible customer service! There seemed to be a new member of staff who obviously isn't going to know how to do the job yet but instead of helping her, the two other members of staff just openly mocked her and chatted between each other while making the coffees instead of helping. When I mentioned to one of the staff members that I hadn't got something I ordered yet, she just look at me and said "I know" Unbelievable

Handy to stop off but the place was cold, when stopping for a rest from driving should be more comfortable.

No customers, 4 staff. Even though I had my coffee and pastry inside it was served in takeaway cups as their dishwasher was broken! Very poor.. If dishwasher breaks and there are 4 times as many staff as customers 4 to 1.. why not teach the staff how to wash up.. Obviously no reduction in price despite paper cups and paper bag instead of plate. Avoid.. Rest of service station pretty poor toilets, broken, out of order. Stop somewhere else instead or pull off motorway give your business to somewhere that cares more.

Love this costa the work staff are always happy even though thay are doing long shifts as thay are short of staff and I take my hat of to them,there are people that aren't happy with what thay get but you can't please every one all the time ,these are the people that probably drink in Starbucks that's to over priced for me,I like going to a place where thay smile wen thay serve you and thay are always friendly ,I won't go anywhere else for my coffee but here, keep up the good work girls your all doing a fantastic job

On an overseas road trip last weekend , found Pease Pottage barista staff extra polite , helpful, efficient, and friendly on a busy day , during difficult times. They went above and beyond to facilitate a bespoke request. Have a good day ☕️

Midnight, on the way from Gatwick and starving. This costa was the only place open, so we ordered some toasties. The place was FILTHY!!!! despite being completely empty. 3 open milk bottles sitting on the counter (good luck to the milk drinking customers), littler on all tables, seats and floor. Even when we asked for napkins to clean our table, the guy behind the counter just kept..... Standing. There's really no excuse for the state of the place. Absolutely disgusting

Coffee shop chains so soulless and depressing. There are just too many in the UK. Bought a couple of vegan facon rolls for breakfast.....they were just awful.

Very busy, have an outside stall and machine inside as well as the the inside coffee shop. Gave my order (salted caramel frostino with coffee and cream) was then asked.... do you want coffee added ? Do you want cream added ? Didn't wait too long with others, tried to distance and maintain covid procedures. Seating areas are spaced out and hand gel available.

Costa coffee at pease pottage services, a23. Good service, good coffee as usual, great that the staff are doing brilliantly under very difficult circumstances due to covid.

Terrible expresso, very expensive, the guy clearly had no idea of what expresso is. More over no mask, no gloves and touching the cups all over!

Most definitely the worst Costa Coffee I have been to. It is broken up into three outlets (very odd). Only one of them is open currently and only one member of staff behind the counter; thus there was a long queue. The member of staff was quite abrupt and unwelcoming but it is probably down to being understaffed. The seating area inside is tired and grotty and needs updating. I decided to get take out and eat in my car instead. Also, be aware that prices here are more expensive than your high street Costa Coffee.

Always the best cappuccinos ever.

I understand that coronavirus has warped peoples minds to such an extent that it appears there is a war on. But I wasn’t prepared for the AWFUL sit -in experience of this cafe. It was clean and that was the only positive virtue. It had as much atmosphere as a caravan site. I asked for a simple plate for my Sicilian lemon muffin and was told you can eat in but we’re only doing takeaway and we don’t provide plates. Get a grip guys! I’m sure you don’t want to be bottom of the league.

I am a profound costa coffee customer and I was looking forward to my usual order: vanilla iced latte with almond milk and I was so upset with the drink. Given the current times I didn’t want to wait around so went to my car and drove off and tried what was the blandest coffee I have ever bought. Could only taste the milk.

No dairy-free breakfast option. Cold porridge and rude service.

Probably the worst coffee I have ever had from the machine here, I won't be using Costa again because I was so put off! I didn't even finish it.

Customer is king doesn't exist in the mantra of this Costa outlet. In fact I felt the customer was an inconvenience. With only 3 in the queue, I had to walk away after waiting 10 minutes and no sign of being served. There appeared to be plenty of staff but were not fussed about getting people served. You do your brand no favours!

Visited twice in the way down and back from the coast. Yes it’s a Costa so the coffee is OK, but the service at this service station Costa is so incredibly slow it’s ridiculous. Lots of the staff appeared to be hanging around doing nothing. There is also confusion about the seasonal drinks as we got a smoothie type drink on the way down which was supposedly the iced salted caramel latte. On the way back we asked for the same drink and got watery cold coffee with ice cubes. On querying this we were told the barista who made the second one “knew what he was doing”. The place is also not very clean when we visited with several sticky and crumb strewn tables. Opt for a takeaway if you can be bothered to wait.

Air conditioning making it visit uncomfortable some times. Quite cold.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond to get a blueberry muffin from the stock room.

Enjoyed our coffee and bacon baps on the offer. Coffee superb, and bacon baps very good indeed, especially on the discounted offer. Nice location, friendly and helpful staff.

It seems like Costa is not keeping up with times. This place was shabby and unattended. The food was poorly presented. A service station cafe I know, but no excuse for dirty floors and tables. The poor barista was left on her own to deal with a busy shop and did the best she could in the situation. Should the management be supporting their staff more and themselves ensuring the cafe looks more inviting?

Very quiet here when visited but just as the same as any others Costa Coffee if you like Costas over other coffee shops

"is the almond bake ok?" She asks a colleague after I've ordered it. Yes, it's fine. She goes and stares at the paperwork behind the counter. "Are you sure the almond bake is ok?" She asks another colleague. "Yeah, fine". After a little more staring, she finds some tongs and tentatively picks up the nearest piece of almond bake. She gives it a gingerly squeeze. It appears to yield a little. She turns it over on the plate. No visible mould. "I think it will be ok!" She declares. She seemed almost surprised that I didn't feel like paying £2.50 for the almond bake, or indeed any other cake. Scary place!

A coffee is just a coffee until that coffee is made and given to you in such a way that little coffee tastes so much better. And this is what here because the service I received was extremely good.

Good, fast service. Can offer other milk chooses ie coconut milk and make super hot as asked! I drink a lot of coffee and always in a rush so this made me happy!

Had a bad mocha from moto clacket lane held onto it until I got to Pease Pottage services and went in to this costa where Georgi was more than happy to swap it out . Little bitter but better than clacket lane drive thru costa

I love Costa, but this was the slowest most dsyfunctional Costa I've ever been in. Tall girl who conducted herself like Royalty wasted 10mins moving cups from one end of the counter to the other individually and as slow as possible, while taking care not to make eye contact with anyone who was impatiently waiting. During that time 3 other team members made coffee so incredibly slowly without looking at customers that 4 unrelated people left the queue. There must have been a period of at least 3mins when none of the 4 staff were looking at the huge queue of customers or even interacting with each other. ThTh were all just chilling in their own little dream-worlds, and one of them was an older lady whom appeared to be senior.

This is a frequent stop off for me and I always get a good service.

Stopped here on the way to Lewes. Good coffee, the staff were friendly and efficient but the ambience is dreadful. The seating area is exceptionally noisy and cold. Should have ordered takeaway and drank the coffee in the car

Although this was a services outlet we found the coffee to be as good as any other Costa. There are other suppliers there too so a good place to stop.

Standard service from a Costa café. Where's the sausage and red onion toasty at? Went twice and it hasn't been there. It's the only reason I go... Diabolical.

The staff of the Costa at Pease Pottage services are amazing, great coffee, great chat, makes you wish you were passing more often. For a chain they really do make you feel like a local. I have popped into this services quite a lot as well as others due to being on the road all day. These guys really stood out. Thank you for being so wonderful Kerry, Mark and Phil as well as all the other wonderful people there.

Love Costa as a brand and the flat white is my personal fav but today I paid an extra £1 on the price I'd normally pay in a high street Costa (all service stations seem to ramp up the prices of everything) and they only gave me half the usual quantity of coffee, telling me that that was the standard measure. Service not with a smile either. Won't return to this outlet.

Just stopped in for a shot of caffeine whilst driving to Lewes. Nice friendly staff and the usual good coffee. Clean and tidy. What more can you ask for at £2.60!

This is a standard Costa Coffee shop but it does the job should you want to stop here for a coffee when coming off the main road

I was directed by Costa Coffee staffs to change machine outside Costa, Cut long story short put twenty pounds note in got £3.00 back machine run of change what a joke no one to help or sort things out at night.

The service is always very slow. The coffee's good, but If your in a hurry I wouldn't recommend stopping here.

Popped into Costa for a coffee and toast...the queue was virtually out the door! Sometimes queues move quickly so I decided to stick it out and wait. Big mistake! Very very slow service. Only two people serving which was not enough. Once served we sat down and realised the place was dirty...tables not cleared. All in all probably the worst Costa I've visited, and I've visited a few :)

£2.45 for a SMALL cup of tea is daylight robbery. I asked for a tiny dash of milk and was served the WEAKEST tea ever - basically hot water and milk. What a joke, please sort it out.
