Went for dinner with friends and although a lovely atmosphere we waited a long time for our order to be taken and for our food orders to arrive. A couple came in and were served much quicker than us and it seems the smaller the party the quicker the meal is cooked and served, which isn’t fair on parties who have arrived earlier. This has happened before when I was in a group of 6 people. We had to ask multiple times about when we were going to get our order and the staff are friendly and pleasant but rushed of their feet. The pub is a nice place to eat, but the restaurant needs a lot of work, the menus quite limiting for those with dietary requirements and the kitchen needs to prioritise the food orders in order of party taken , rather than size of party/ quantity of meals.

On our first visit to this delightful village we were taken to lunch here. We had the set menu. Two of us had 2 courses and the third had all three. I had the mushroom and cheese starter which was delicious if rather small and for my main course I had the steak and ale pie which I thought was super tasty - my only complaint is that the broccoli was undercooked. My wife said her chicken was delicious and I had a small amount of her sticky toffee pudding which was lovely - light as a feather and not too sweet with amazing sauce. Service was very friendly. A three course lunch can be had for £21.50 which I thought was very good value for the quality of the food.

Fabulous as ever. We were a party of 11 for Sunday lunch, celebrating a family birthday, we had a very enjoyable meal. Great value for money menu and friendly welcome and service. Book a table!

Not been in this pub for years. It was really buzzing. We chose our meal from the Special set menu. It was lovely and very reasonably priced. I had chicken wings and spare ribs. My friends had the mushroom starter , prawn cocktails, and squid. Their mains were veg risotto, steak pie and ribs. Desserts were pannacota and cheesecake. Great service. Lovely friendly staff. All in all , a lovely evening

Nothing wrong with the food but a bit confused by the bill. On it, after the charge for the food, there's "Optional Service Charge" (which is 10%). Then at the bottom of the bill it states "Service charge is not included" Go figure

This was our first visit to the Bent Arms. The pub is wonderfully placed on the picturesque Lindfield High Street, and the pub is a stunning looking building. Inside, there is a pleasant restaurant and bar area where food is also served. It was all perfectly pleasant, but more normal than special. We sat in the bar area, and were quickly served drinks and given the menu. The menu was pretty bland, with the usual standard average pub classics. However there was a really lack of vegetarian options. For me this wasn’t an issue, but for my friend, they were really disappointed. Perhaps we should have checked in advance. The food arrived and the vege burger was ok but nothing to note either way. My burger was fine but not something I would seek out again anytime soon. Overall, I’d come back, largely as the service was so warm and welcoming rather than the quality of food offering.

We arrived before 6.00pm, abd as food orders were only taken after six, sat in the lovey beer garden. Beer is draughts and good quality . Food was good and plentiful . Really excellent set menu, and brilliant value. If your in this corner of Sussex I recommend the Beht Arms

The service was terrible. Waited over and hour for food and no one once came to tell us that there was a delay with the food. When the food came it’s wasn’t nice and over cooked. When speaking the the staff they were rude and didn’t know what to do. The manager didn’t help or come and sort the situation. This is poor management and something that should be thought about. The staff should learn how to talk to the customers that they have as they are going to loss business if not.

We live in the village and the Bent is our local pub. Having walked in there tonight with no booking to find the place heaving we ended up sitting by the back door where we had a constant stream of people in and out slamming the door, not a very relaxing evening, could use a porch on the back door to stop the cold and the noise. The table we sat at was still filled with dirty plates which my partner had to clear

We visited on a Saturday lunch time, the pub was very quiet, cold and had no atmosphere. The staff were quiet and did not pay us much attention. The food was very tasty but I didn't get my meal at the same time as my partner, I had to wait 10 minutes longer for mine to arrive. The toilets were not nice, the tap needs repairing and in general the whole place could do with a good clean and a spruce up. It was a real shame as I had heard good reviews about this place but I won't be going back. The pub lets the food down.

I went to the bent arms for drinks on Monday the 14th, where I go quite often. I left my purse there and called the pub when i got home, an hour after last orders. hoping for the the odd chance someone would be around who was closing the pub. A very rude man answered the phone and proceeded to call me a 'silly girl' and protested as to why I calling as I asked if he had seen my purse or could look in the morning, which had my ID, card, money and other belongings in it. I was very surprised at his hostility. His words were completely insulting to which I shall not mention and not what I expected. I was taken aback by what a pub owner or manager could say to a customer. Despicable.

Efficient and friendly reception. Arrived late but a hearty meal was soon served up.Room Ok: Spacious, comfortable, if battered but fair for the price. We would definite stay again.

We met at the pub for a girls xmas dinner. The staff were really accomodating as we had people coming and going at different times. They were also super dog friendly, including dog biscuits and water bowls brought to the table. The human food was good. Hopefully the menu will change with the seasons. 🤞

We have known and stayed at Ockenden Manor since 1975. Staff are superb. The catering, however, has now moved into the pretentious category with a menu that is specialised, limited in range and depth and wine list which is a tad removed from normality. Ockenden Manor is lovely but no longer a reasonable restaurant experience.

Great little costa coffee shop tucked away in the heart of Haywards Heath. Exceptional service and the staff is always warm and welcoming. Lovely atmosphere and to it all off, the flat white is always on point:))

I visited today with my Dad and son for a last minute lunch. Emily welcomed us warmly at the check in and although we hadn’t booked she found us a table. When I asked about bringing my dog in she explained about the dog friendly area and showed me the doggie station which was well stocked with water bowls, blankets and treats available for a donation to MacMillan. The lunch menu was reasonably priced and the food was delicious. We were so impressed with the service today. Thank you Emily and Angie for looking after us.
