Best Fish & Chips I have had in a very long time, cooked beautifully and generous portion sizes.

First time for food, always struggled to get a seat in this place as it’s always very popular. I had the Steak Benedict, wasn’t massively impressed but the others enjoyed their meals and had no complaints. It does feel quite clicky in here at times, however I have been for drinks and the guys behind the bar are very accommodating and make excellent cocktails!

This pub is lovely!! The service is excellent and the food is delicious. The food is quick to come out and the staff are kind and accommodating. For example, they always would change the Macaroni cheese for plain pasta if a child didn't like Macaroni and cheese! The food is so good and the interior is very nice!! I have been going here since I was tiny and love it! Make sure to check it out!

Fantastic Saturday night out in block last night! Great cocktails and beers on offer and Hannah was amazing, checking in on us throughout the evening! Would recommend.

We booked my retirement/birthday gathering on the 11th February. Staff were all friendly and really helpful. The buffet food was lovely and we had our own bar staff. We were going to have it in our house but when the numbers got up to 50 we decided to it would make sense to move it to The Ship and we’re so glad we did. No washing up 😉 Honestly couldn’t have been better . Many thanks to all the staff and particularly Sian and Ed who advised us. Definitely recommend as a party venue.

The pub had friendly welcoming staff,all very polite and nothing was to much trouble. The food was extremely good. with an open fire. Will be visiting again

Very friendly,like one big family, go seems a lot of locals go there, so helps to create a happy atmosphere, good service and food. good prices. Would always go back when in the area. Thank to all staff.

I am currently writing this review during my stay. I am here for one night due to work, and the place is wonderful. Check-in was effortless, and the reception staff were courteous and pleasant. The room was clean, and the bed and pillows were perfect for a good night's sleep. I was unable to try the breakfast as the agency removed the complimentary breakfast. I look forward to staying here again in the future. It's also convenient that it is just a few minutes from the train station.

My lamb Korai was nice but the other meals were really pale, no flavour, with water starting to separate

Has a food hygiene rating of 1/5, disgusting. Before checking online I called the cafe to check and the barista refused to tell me the number. Response: yeah it’s only 5 as of now.l February. Ignoring that for years it was still 1.

Over priced under sized and uncooked raw chips for 4.25 for a large and was smaller then a medium ripoff ,new owners have ruined this place

WOW, What a renovation! The place looks amazing!!!!! Relaunch and new management and i have to say i am really impressed. Makes such a difference and Luke the manager is such a gentleman and very very welcoming. Great family run pub and nice atmosphere with a real old fashioned pub feel. Good draft selection and mix of ages in here. Will visit again and can't wait for the food to start again.
