There are Cafes and there are great cafes. This one without doubt falls into the latter category. My wife and I new of
it’s existence for some time but had not yet visited. Then came the day when we were out for a walk and it came on to rain and we took shelter in this nearby cafe.It was nearly teatime anyway so we indulged our selves in a nice pot of tea and some really nice scones baked on the premises. We both agreed that coupled with good service that this
was one of the best cafes we had been to.Highly recommended.
This pub is lovely!! The service is excellent and the food is delicious. The food is quick to come out and the staff are kind and accommodating. For example, they always would change the Macaroni cheese for plain pasta if a child didn't like Macaroni and cheese! The food is so good and the interior is very nice!! I have been going here since I was tiny and love it! Make sure to check it out!
I ordered milkshakes and noticed that the person who made them poured the leftover milkshak down the sink, which felt like such a waste!! I would have been happy to take it instead of wasting it. Lets aim to reduce food waste when food poverty exists around us.
Also, carrying a tray of milkshakes and coffees outside through a locked door is nearly impossible. It would be great if the staff could be a little more helpful and compassionate.
Ordered Chicken Tikka Masala with mushroom rice for a main coarse. Starters Poppadoms and salad were good.
Unfortunately the main meal was very poor, no taste to it and very sloppy. Was expecting better.
Whenever I go to a chippy I always have beef and onion pie, so I know it's the one in the red foil. I could see there was one ready in the heater so I ordered that. A chap came in after me and ordered the same and his was ready before mine and he took the pie. As a result, I was given a soggy pie which must have been cooked in the microwave. Not a bit of puff pastry in sight. Very disappointed. The chips were decent and the curry sauce was pretty bland. I also think this is overpriced. £7 for a kids sausage and chips meal and £4 for a pie.
The young lad who served me was really friendly. The man cooking the food didn't seem particularly friendly and didn't say a word or look up at any of his customers.
Wouldn't return here when there are other chip shops available nearby.
I had the full breakfast for £10. Food quality was really good, food portion was MASSIVE, coffee was in a large cup and very tasty too (had it with coconut milk). I am very satisfied. If you are browsing, save yourself the hassle and come here.
Came here today with my mum and cousin for a catch up and lunch. Very good menu with plenty of choices and surely something for everyone.
I was warned that there was a twenty minute wait for food when I ordered but that was ok as we weren't in a particular hurry.
My mum and cousin both have small appetites so chose from the kids menu, larger portion, age 6+.
Both meals looked really good and a big enough portion - the chicken breast and the sausages & mash (ask for gravy if you want it, not served as standard). The kids meal came with Berry Mess which was also declared delicious.
I had the vegan Rainbow lasagne which was really tasty and filling - rich tomato sauce, lovely slices of butternut squash and delicious white sauce, topped with seeds. It came with an incredibly generous side salad and I had the garlic ciabatta which was good.
The pot of tea was declared very good and excellent value. We also had a glass of wine & soda and a diet coke.
The service was first class and very welcoming. And the pub looks good after its makeover.
All in all, a very nice visit. I would certainly recommend.
