The roast dinners served were either overcooked or uncooked.
The beef was far too tough to chew, the vegetables were either burnt on the outside and dry in the middle-over -cooked or uncooked.
I specially said I was coeliac which the waitress made a note of.
They specifically brought my food down the stairs instead of using the food lift, which was considerate
but sadly I have had a horrible reaction, meaning my food either had gluten in it or it had been cross-contaminated with foods which have gluten in.
So disappointed as the service from the waitresses were excellent and the decor and atmosphere of the pub is friendly, clean and warm.
Thank you to the ignorant member of staff who cleared our food off the table and threw we had not finished but your staff did not to cate we saved up for this Birthday celebration and it was spoilt completely. Thank you so much

I really like this pub
It’s lovely inside well kept and maintained
The garden area is large and there is a patio area and a grass area too.
The food is delicious.
There is a great selection of beers and snacks. They even sell popcorn.
I really need to come back and take so photos of the food and the pub. As I don’t go to the area much I do go there as much as I’d like.
Would highly recommend.
There is free parking and very close to the pub. Easy access and very easy to get to and find.
Visited yesterday with friends. Have been coming to the Railway for over 30 years, always enjoy my time here. However yesterday was disappointing, the place we sat at had a big hole in it and just looked shabby.
I have to comment on the toilets every time we have come for the last few years the toilets absolutely stink of stale urine and it is so off putting. For a chain as big as Greene king I’m surprised this is allowed to happen.
Such a shame as the Railway was always my go to pub. Please sort out the loos.
Came in multiple times over a couple days for food and drinks for served by donna and Joe. Service was brilliant and food was top notch and the Guinness even better very very good pub with friendly atmosphere would highly recommend to anyone travelling solo or as a group as people are very welcoming

Love this place. Went for drinks one evening and felt like I had found an absolute gem. Great old school rock music, lovely Japanese lager and brilliant vibe.
My girlfriend and I visited this restuarant on their Banquet 5 course meal night (Tuesdays). It's advertised at £17.95 per person, so sounds quite reasonable.
The "5 courses" consist of a starter, main, side dish, rice or naan (hardly a "course" and a coffee (again not what I would call a "course").
The food was "ok" - pretty average really. The menu on this night that you are given seems to be a very cut down version of their main menu. Choices for sides for example seemed to be extremely limited. The side of bhaji's that I had was fine, the main course of madras was ok but the coffee at the end was awful.
However - here's the catch - the cost of drinks. My girlfriend had two very, very watery lime and soda waters and this cost a staggering £10! Ridiculous. I think the Diet Coke I had was nearly £5 too.
How on earth they can charge these absolutely extortionate prices for drinks is beyond me. I know, from reading local Facebook groups posts that I am not alone with the drink situation and others have said they will not go here again. I won't be returning either.
My message to this restuarant : Don't rip off your customers, your repeat business will dry up as word gets about.

My family and I went here for a Sunday roast. We had been here before in the past and the food had been amazing.
The food this time round was awful, priced at £21.00 for a roast dinner ,was much higher then what we had paid in the past. The roast beef was under cooked and so blue, 2 roast potatoes not even crispy, pig in blanket was a large sausage cut into a quarter, I think a sausage had been shared between the 3 of us. One parsnips, one carrot, a pile of red stuff which tasted of water, cauliflower cheese didn't taste nice, a small square of sage & onion stuffing, cheesy leaks again didn't taste very nice and a yorkshire pud that was so big I had to keep moving it around the plate, it was very dry to taste. All the food was tapid and not hot at all.
Then came the pud, toffee pud with butterscotch sauce, it came with a strawberry and ice cream, nice touch if you like strawberries.
We wasn't advised or even asked if anyone of us had allergies as the toffee sponge had walnuts in it. I'm used to having dates in a toffee sponge but not walnuts. Lucky none of us have a nut allergy but making customers aware of this is a given.
Then it came to paying £104.00 for 3 roast dinners, 2 toffee sponge puds and a bowl of ice cream and 3 soft drinks, a little expensive.
Would we go back absolutely not.
Over priced and tastless food.
