Tasty food and plenty of it We had a takeaway. Atmosphere is good in house if dining with a lot of friends.

Rakin was our waiter and was really helpful and provided great customer service. The food was also very good. I would definitely recommend this curry house.

Located off the high street in Cuckfield, one could easily miss it, and that would be a great shame. The food served at Spice Village is of the highest order, and the portions are large. The staff led by Mo, and supported by Abul and Mo's two sons, are very helpful and friendly. Wednesday buffet is super value at less than £14. My favourite main course is Chicken Tika Pathia with Mushroom rice, but all the dishes are great. Importantly, the restaurant is well decorated and very clean. It's a first on my list for takeaway and eating in, for Indian food.

Just got back from dining at the spice village, food was awful, banquet night, very busy and noisy, a fly kept buzzing past our food, waiter saw this however nothing was done! Warm drinks, flat cola, starters edible, mains, chicken tough, chicken curry- bland and watery, saag ponir- I’ve never seen this dish that colour before, only one chunk of paneer! Rices were greasy. Lamb curry overcooked. Naan bread amazing, ordered two, only got one! We will go back to our normal restaurant - Haldi Southwater, far far superior, such a shame for a local village.

Disappointed with our takeaway which we had been looking forward to. Food was bland and lacking in authentic curry flavours.

A fabulous meal enjoyed with and by my family. We all had something different to eat and menu had different choices as well as the normal. Hospitable, friendly staff, picturesque location to walk off the meal or go for a drink.

Could not fault the food. The arithmetic in our bill left a lot to be desired however. Our original bill came to £395. When adding it up ourselves it came to £285?

Eaten here a good few times over the years and it's always fairly consistent. Best described as a typical 'curry house' with all the dishes you'd expect plus the chef's specials etc. Nothing out of the ordinary but that's not a criticism - we always clear the plates so that must say something. Service tends to be fairly quick and polite but not overly friendly or engaging. Reasonable value and the banquet nights are good. Sometimes we've found it almost empty and packed at others, so worth booking ahead.

Saturday night. We had Chicken Dhansak, Palak Chicken, vegetable rice, onion bhaji and chapattis. All very tasty.

Always my go to Indian! Always eaten in, not had a take away. I went here for my birthday meal last night and it was a table of 8, the service was amazing, all food came at the same time - of course tasted amazing as always! They were happy to bring out a birthday cake, gave us a free spirit of choice at the end. Would recommend this place to anyone who loves an authentic curry. (Chicken Bhuna is incredible) Thank you to all the staff as Spice Village for making my birthday even better last night.

Very tasty, all fresh very impressed with flavours, Naans and Saag Aloo best I’ve had for a very long time. Hidden gem, limited sitting so advise to book.

Very disappointed after seeing good reviews. All meat was hard to chew and dry. Madras was watery and no flavour. Hilariously so was the tikka masala?!! Couldn’t even eat the lamb vindaloo as couldn’t bite through the meat. First and last time ordering. Terrible

The food at Spice Village is consistently very good, and of exceptional value. The quality is super and the quantity is substantial. The staff are friendly and will explain dishes that may be unfamiliar to you. We were a group of five and booked for the evening when the street festival was on, so it was a party atmosphere. Wine is often expensive when dining out, but here the house wine is very reasonable and nice. My favourite dish is Chicken Tika Pathia, and Spice Village prepare it perfectly, well done.

Was really looking forward to a nice curry on Saturday but this just didnt hit the spot. Ordered on line came fairly quickly had to pay a service charge and delivery charge. Tasteless and expensive didn't have starters only poppadams plus 5 curry's and rice and a couple of Nans - cost £92 shall return to Balti house next time

My first time trying and not sure if the food was labelled wrong, but the madras was sweet and had no heat. Really disappointing.

We enjoyed a very good takeaway this evening. We live in Leicester and so often don’t expect such good food when elsewhere. Next time we come to Cuckfield we will call in to have a meal.

Every time we order from Spice Village the food is excellent, with a varied menu, and great service. I’m a Brummie, so I know my curry! These guys are top quality.

We had the following items: Mixed Starter Plain Pappadoms Mint Sauce Mango Chutney Garlic Coriander Nan Pilaw Rice (Vegan) Masala Dish - Chicken Passanda Goan Chicken Just shy of £44. Well worth it. My favourite Indian takeaway has always been Tarana's in Turners Hill but I'd say based on our first experience with Spice Village (and that it's five minutes from us) that it could very well compete for that gloried honour 😄😉. The staff are professional. The food was very tasty and my ordering online experience was seamless. Great job guys. You've got a new customer 👍

Ordered food for delivery. A lot of the meat was stale and chewy. Paratha was oily and had a weird texture, could not finish it. Pricey for what I got as well. Definitely not ordering again.

I ordered a takeaway for the family from Spice Village at 18:30 on a Sunday evening. It was due to be delivered at 19:55. I got a notification at around 20:10 to say it was on its way and then at 20:40, my order was cancelled out of the blue. Leaving me in a position where my family, including 16 year old son with school the next day, had not been fed. Absolutely appalling.

Another brilliant meal from Spice Village. It never disappoints. I moved close by about 3 years ago and its always a treat - I know people from Hurspierpoint, Burgess Hill and even as far as Patcham who travel to get their takeaways here ! Wouldn't go anywhere else and highly recommend.

We had an evening meal. We opted for the Sunday special. Three course set menu however they tried charging us for the individual meals. Extremely rude and dishonest manager. I do not understand how this place has got so many good reviews. Maybe we got them on a bad day. Never again

I’ve found my new Indian Takeaway! Very impressed with everything I ordered, food tasted great, delivery arrived when we asked for, perfect.

I have visited this restaurant often since it first opened, and never had reason to complain about the food or service. The food is great and is cooked fresh to order, I have been in the kitchen and seen how clean and organised it is. Our family and friends like the staff there, who will engage with you, if you are civil and friendly to them. Judge this family run restaurnt on the consistantly great food it provides. My particular favourite meal is Chicken Tika Pathia, with Mushroom rice and Peshwari Nann bread. Some are natural complainers, try the Spice Village food and judge for yourself. Of great value are their Sunday evening fixed price meals.

I don't understand the negative comments but each to their own. I love a really good curry and this restaurant is up there as one of my ultimate favourites. If you are looking for a very flavoursome, generous portion of non greasy, top notch curry, I recommend this restaurant.

We had an evening meal here, the elderley waiter was polite but not freindly at all, we were the only people in the restaurant for the first hour a couple came in and just got up and left after 20.mins as they weren't even offered a drink, yet the waiter was standing eating his dinner out of a bowl in full view! He never smiled at all and was quite abrupt at times but always polite. The atmosphere wasn't very nice and completely quiet we felt we had to whisper no back ground music at all. The food we had was average abd the nan breads were very doughy. We were so looking forward to our meal it was average. Overall the experience wasn't good for us at all. Maybe we caught them on a bad day.

Unfortunately, the Spice Village was entertaining a group of loud, foul mouthed and over boisterous men (middle aged) when we visited so, we left without sampling any of the delights on the menu which, was a great shame. Come on Spice Village, control your 'over-excited' customers or, you may lose many others!

We eat regularly at this restaurant and always receive a very warm welcome . The food is always delicious and the staff are courteous friendly and helpful .

Initially, the food tasted nice although a bit salty. Delivery was 25mins later than the 50mins estimated on a Thursday evening. The tikka salmon starter was £7.95 for 3 x 2cm pieces of salmon!!! An outrageous rip off!! Plus, you have to buy onion salad and condiments separately to the poppadoms. We didn’t sleep well at all last night, heaven knows what has been added to the food, and I can still taste it this morning!! I would not order from here again and highly regret having done so. Total cost was just under £40 delivered via Deliveroo, we had 1x onion bhaji starter, 1x tikka salmon starter, 1x spicy poppadom, 2x plain poppadoms, onion salad, mint sauce, lime pickle, 1x paneer dhansak, 1x pilau rice, 1x aloo gobi. See attached photos. Highly disappointed in the quality of the food as we very thirsty during the night, slept badly and could still taste the meal this morning! Yuk!

Impressive. Been really disappointed with lots of Indian takeaways in haywards heath. This was really good and nice to know that we have a local place we can go back to. And quick on delivery too for a Saturday night. Will definitely use again.

Very disappointing to say the least. Pretty sure they did not get any of our order right. And what we actually we got was bland and I'm being kind. Where do I begin; stale poppadoms (seriously, how can you mess them up!) Chutney which I bet was outit of a jar, way too sweet. I ordered Chicken Saag but got good knows what, see pictures. We ordered pilau rice, see picture, err definitely not Pilau. My friends chicken Tikka masala looked like giant tomato threw up a pizza and didn't taste much better. I order red daal and yes look at the picture, jaundice in tin foil. Whatever I got (not Saag) was tasteless, how can you make spinach tasteless, that is an unwanted talent. If you wonder why we didn't bring it back, because we'd opened everything before we suspected we had the wrong order, our next mistake was trying to eat it. And it was all pretty pricey imo. In summary our garlic naan was ok. That speaks volumes.

This food was terrible, probably the worst Indian food I’ve ever had and there was so much salt in it I was up all night drinking water. A very disappointing experience after reading such good reviews too, it was meant to be a surprise treat for my wife. In addition to the poor food the staff were more interested in watching the football on their TV than serving our mea, the customer service experience was non existent. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant.

Sad to say very poor curry . Very runny and tasteless sauce on madras and korma and undercooked naan .Not often I don’t clean my plate . Try to support local business as much as possible but sadly won’t be back . It can’t be that hard to taste and quality control .

Still the best Indian restaurant in the Mid Sussex area. Great hospitality and atmosphere and the food somehow just tastes better than other places. Getting a takeaway is perfect for increasing my popularity with family visiting from Germany and/or Spain who miss their spicy curries.

Having lived in Leicester and east London, I'd like to think that I know what a good curry looks like. And before anyone feels compelled to point out that my concept of what constitutes curry is an inherently Anglocentric and steeped in the bloody history of colonialism, I know and agree, but I do really rather like the taste and I've had the massive good fortune to be served some excellent food over the years by people who seemed to know what they're doing, so I'm not about to complain.

We came here to eat on Saturday evening. Definitely try the chef specials and recommendations. Lots of flavour and good sized portions. Good service and will be back.

We ate here for the first time tonight having taken the short drive to Cuckfield from Burgess Hill. We’ve tried most of the Indian restaurants local to us & this beats them all! Decor wise clean tidy and as modern as any other. A nice touch that all the crockery is branded with their logo and name (a small thing but I liked it!) I had the chicken tikka dansak which was very nice,just the right level of spice and lots of thick sweet and sour tasty sauce. My partner had the sizzling tandoori mixed grill, we share a special fried rice, Peshwari Naan, saag aloo and onion bhajis.. we can honestly say every dish was lovely, plentiful and tasty. Also very glad of the hot plate and warm dishes/plates. It was very reasonably priced and we will definitely taking for short ride out again when we fancy a curry!

The food in here is really good - very tasty and well cooked. The service is also excellent - welcoming, friendly and attentive without being in your face. The only thing stopping me giving it a 5* is the decor - although the food itself is the best I've had of it's kind in the area (apart from the Saag Paneer, which could do with less cream!), I'd be put off coming here for a special occasion as the decor is very basic and could really do with updating - it doesn't feel very upmarket.
