The best restaurants in Mid Sussex South East

Have been here to eat in on several occasions. Today I had a takeaway. I expected it to be good, but it was in fact great! Quite honestly the nicest takeout curry I’ve ever had. I ordered: Lamb Korma (don’t judge me). Mushroom Fried Rice Garlic Naan Onion Baji Definitely the best Indian Restaurant in Burgess Hill. I would recommend eat in or take away.

Was practically empty so we asked to sit on the large benches, especially as there’s two of them, and the old lady was very rude and said “no they’re for bigger parties”. So we had to sit in a grungy dark cold corner even though no one came in the whole time to use the large benches.

The food was brought out quickly, it was hot and there are no complaints at all, the price for quality of food is really good. The staff were lovely, I wasn’t able to catch their names but they were friendly, easy to talk to and very welcoming ,both were woman, I believe one of them was younger with blonde hair, the other had brown hair and looked in her 30s - 40s, thank you for the good service :)!

My partner and I are always happy when we get a takeaway from Kings Garden. Great food, some really good veggie options, our go-to chinese.

Forgot part of my order, rice was packet rice and egg fried rice is just fresh egg crumbled into jasmine rice. Everything was bland and pretty average.

Was therehere for a family meal and hit the spot nicely. Friendly staff, good food comfortably atmosphere!

Just popped in for a drink. In Haywards Heath on my own for business. Never been before. I was looking for a place for a post meal drink. I liked the traditional pub look. It didn't disappoint inside. Okay range of beers.

The new chef was brilliant we had dinner every night of our stay & genuinely some of the best tastiest food we've eaten! The room was comfortable & clean, good shower in our room, bar was buzzing with friendly staff & locals in the evening. We will book again when we're in the area.

A lovely setting however we booked for Mother’s Day and it just felt like a shambles. We were seated in the bay window that can only be described as hotter than a sauna with no ventilation. Service was really slow and though we appreciated it was a busy day, it was really very poor. We had to get up as we kept getting forgotten about, and when our order was finally taken, drinks were missing, and then when food was served, there was around 45 minutes between one course ending and the next one coming! There wasn’t even a ‘sorry for the wait’ or ‘we’re short staffed’, there seemed to be staff, but they weren’t properly organised. The food was reasonable quality but it didn’t make up for the rest of the experience. Pub trades on location and thinks they can get away with everything else because ‘they’ll always be busy’ one member of staff told me when I said there was no paper in the toilets and the toilet was in a sorry state!
