Sunshine Cafe in Mid Sussex

The food was brought out quickly, it was hot and there are no complaints at all, the price for quality of food is really good. The staff were lovely, I wasn’t able to catch their names but they were friendly, easy to talk to and very welcoming ,both were woman, I believe one of them was younger with blonde hair, the other had brown hair and looked in her 30s - 40s, thank you for the good service :)!

Burgess Hill's Sunshine Cafe has been a firm favourite of mine for some time now but I popped in today for a quick bite with my elderly mum who hadn't been here before. I needn't have worried, however, as she was really impressed with the enormous menu, how clean and comfortable it was, how friendly our waitress was and particularly how delicious and good value our food was. We both decided to have omelettes with chips and baked beans - well, it has to be beans doesn't it? I had ham and cheese while mum had a mushroom omelette and both were super fluffy, seasoned to perfection and very generous with it. I am surprised this place does not have any more recent reviews as it really is a cracking cafe which deserves to do really well. It seems to have a very loyal client base and we will definitely be back again very soon.

Staying at the travel lodge at Hickstead and wanted a good all day breakfast. Ventured into the town center and found this little gem of a place. VERY friendly polite staff and everything was very clean and simple. Offer a great menu and basically it seems if it is on the menu then you can have whatever you want nothing seems to be any trouble. The portions are very generous as well. This will be our go to cafe for sure when we return to visit friends and family again. Well done to all for lovely food and quick service with a smile. Would give 10 stars if I could.

This restaurant is extremely underrated. The food here is amazing and I haven't been discomforted by anything. The the proportions are often huge. Recommend the lasagna, and the ice creams Overall this restaurant is amazing. I rate it 5 stars :)

Great value and big portions make this cafe a huge win. The staff were friendly and the prices so reasonable that I was able to treat my mum and my aunt to lunch. I’ll definitely be back

I visit three times a week and order either the Super Breakfast or Liver & Bacon. Nothing is ever too much travel, all distancing and heigene rules complied with and nothing is ever too much trouble. Extensive menu and always well cooked.

Shocked to find The menus not cleaned between customers still using sauce bottles on the tables , again not cleaned between customers, staff not wearing masks. Very unsafe and will definitely not be returning until well after the pandemic is over . It’s a shame as it’s a good value place to eat

There is a good choice of food and the few times I have been there for lunch the service has been good and the food was tasty. It is reasonably priced so you can have a good lunch for less than £10. On my last visit, I had one of the light snacks. They are good value and the portion size was just right for me.Will definitely go back.

While shopping in Burgess Hill was looking for a place for lunch in the rain and spotted the sunshine name! I just wanted a simple warming lunch and had cheese on toast which was really good with a big mug of tea. My friends had fish and chips which they enjoyed.

We have been here on a number of occasions for the full on breakfast (served all day) and, without fail, every time it has been fabulous. The food is superbly cooked (and yes it’s surprising how many places can’t get it right) and delicious. Little things count like how to cook poached eggs properly in just the spun water without cheating. They know and do it properly. The staff are incredibly friendly and their establishment is always very clean and tidy. Good value too. Top marks.

Thought i would give this cafe a try as always seems busy and pleasantly suprised. Friendly staff and a delicious cooked breakfast at very reasonable price recommend to anyone!

I had to go to wilkinsons in burgess hill so I missed me turning from the train station and ended walking past it due to texting and I was in no rush that day but was feeling a bit peckish. Best mistake I'd made in a while I had the no 6 breakfast and I got to say I loved it. The service was lovely and cheerfully up beat. Which I am usually not that way in the mornings. The breakfast came with toast and coffee I love a bargain in the morning and they seldom taste this good . ;)

The only reason this is not a 5 star is because the food took a little bit to come and wasn’t the best quality but for what you pay it’s a pretty nice place. The staff was very friendly would definitely come again.

This is the most popular cafe in Burgess Hill and caters for everyone, the menu choice is huge and I doubt that anyone would have an issue finding something they like. The cafe is divided into sections with banquette style seating and plenty of room at each seating area. I have to say that the food portions are huge, however, the quality of the food is not great and is why I only gave the cafe 3*. Located on the main shopping street in Burgess Hill and with some outside seating the cafe is ideal for a quick pit-stop with hungry children,

Popped in at the weekend when visiting mum. She said the food was great so my hubby and I took her word. Firstly we were sat for 15mins before being seen to, and then waited almost half hour for drinks let alone food. The food was ok, we all had burgers and my hubby and I shared a portion of chips which was quite small. My egg in the burger was over cooked but it was at least the food was freshly cooked. I could see it was a popular well used cafe but I definitely have higher expectations.

You can always go back on this place as it the best place to get a good breakfast in Burgess Hill. I love this place.

Went to a sunshine cafe in Leatherhead last week and was pleased to find one in Burgess Hill this week.

We went in for breakfast knowing they do an all day breakfast menu. The selection is massive and you have every combination you could imagine.

Very nice breakfast with my man the best I think I have had for a long time . Amazing food ever that’s all I need.

Friendly old style cafe with plenty of booth Style tables. Big range of all day breakfasts along with family favourite hot meals, sandwiches & jackets. Prompt and friendly service.

We use this Cafe a few times a year. Downside to All Day breakfasts is that sausages are deep fried and fried bread is really greasy. Service is quick and it is cheap.

The food was really well cooked & the set breakfasts are great value for money

We have started using this cafe for our office breakfasts. Excellent value, good quality food and generous portions.

I visit this place regularly. if you want a burger and chips or omelette thenn this is the place for you. Much like a wimpy, the food is OK, dont expect a gourmet burger! selection is good, prices are very cheap- £14 or a family of 3. I have had to wait a little long for service a couple of times but all those waiters are gone so a bit better now. Cheap and easy, kinda like a less dirty mcdonalds

Had a lovely lunch today. We are all quite picky but it all came out correct. Salad looked good, burger looked amazing and omelette was really cheesy. Looking forward to going back.

My mum came last week by herself for a spot of lunch and not being local to burgess hill she was just passing and thought it looked nice!

My burger was ok and my mum's chicken burger looked really nice. They were reasonably priced and hot. The loos weren't very clean though - I had regretted eating there!

If you want a good meal in easy, relaxed surroundings - go to the Sunshine Cafe, great food and very nice, friendly staff. Highly recommended.

This was our first visit, not being regular visitors to Burgess Hill. The friendly efficient service and value for money is quite extraordinary. Run by Polish management the cafe is extremely clean and organised with huge portions and a vast breakfast and lunch menu. We both had far too much to eat and paid £15.00 for 2 main courses , tea and Coke. Plus there's free Wi Fi. A real find, no wonder it's so busy.

Being a Burgess Hill resident, I have tested most of the cafes/pubs/restaurants, and the Sunshine cafe serves the best full English. In fact they have 9 variations on the menu, but by far the best is the value breakfast at £3.49 which includes egg, sausage, bacon, hash brown, beans, and fried bread plus tea or coffee - a real bargain !

My family have visited this cafe many times and it deserves to be acknowledged.We have always received great service and excellent food. All the staff are really friendly and pleasing customers is their priority. The menu is very comprehensive, covering a huge selection of breakfast food, burgers, omelettes, main meals, salads as well as sandwiches and desserts. The prices are really reasonable for the size and quality of food served. It is often busy but well worth a visit. I would highly recommend this cafe.
