Very nice food, good portion sizes and reasonable prices. I especially lived the Kofte Burrito wrap.

Found this place randomly on uber eats, went there randomly in person with my boyfriend and now it's been our go to place for lunch, highly recommend them! Recommend their milkshakes and breakfast baguette/wrap most of all!

Food is excellent here. Lots of options. Good prices. Definitely would recommend You don't go here for atmosphere. It's a Café.

Best staff I’ve come across. Down to earth , genuinely keen to serve. Food is basic but tasty. Prices not bad and coffee of a very high standard. The place was busy but not crowded with a nice seating area outside too. The staff even saw a few spots of rain and extended the canopy for us. Thanks guys . We’ll be back. Tom and Sam

Cafe makara is the place to go .. you get amazing service, they are both very friendly and lovely to talk too the atmosphere is great you get make to feel like you are welcomed to be here and the food.. well the food is incredible, I’ve had all different things from then home made burger meal, jacket potato’s, wraps, cooked breakfast and they have all been incredible. Never had one thing to moan about. Keep up the good work.

disappointed - super busy and told me multiple times would be 10-15 minutes when wasn't - asked them to cancel and they said you need to do it online - there is no button to do so - food arrived 5 minutes before I had to go out as I had no way to cancel and arrived before I could call back again - coffee arrived cold -food was luke warm - gonna have to microwave everything when I get back

Great, independent cafe, on all delivery services -- but go to their own website for best service and prices! Good food, great service. Salad boxes are substantial; breakfasts hot and tasty. Recommended. Also great for eating in! Now open from early til late, plenty of choice, plenty of time for breakfast, lunch, cake and dinner.

This place is a diamond hiding in the high street. Stumbled in here for breakfast yesterday as they were the earliest place that opens for breakfast 7am which really helped us out. Paid about 12-13 pound a head for a massive breakfast and a cup of coffee. Drinks are not included with the meal which is a bit of a shame but the quality of the coffee is barista level rich dark americano which is welcome that any time of the day if you ask me. The breakfast was divine, bacon cooked how you want, most is done on a grill and not just deep fried. The owner makes you feel welcome always has time for you and nothing ever seems too much trouble. Food was so good and we are without a kitchen we ordered delivery for dinner, the burgers are better then the dedicated places in the local area I don't wish to shame them by naming them. I had a wrap and my mother a jacket potato and everything was just spot on! No grease great taste and full of flavour they even provide cutlery and napkins including a wet wipe which helped the old man clean himself up after his burger lol. Also kids welcome with high chairs provided. With great chilled background music that's easy on the ears any time of the day. Great prices, great people and even greater food worth heading to for any meal in the day!

Exceptionally welcome atmosphere for families with young children. Delicious cakes, brilliant selection of cold drinks and decent sized cups of tea.

I try to come here once a month to set myself up for a busy day with one of their wonderful breakfasts! It's always cooked lovely and fresh with good portion sizes and cake for money. The owner is friendly and they have good saver stamp cards due regular eating/drinking. Would definitely recommend!

A brilliant cafe that I'm really pleased we found. Delicious breakfast and frappe. We now go every month when visiting burgess hill and the service and food is always 5 stars. The owner is amazing and always goes above and beyond. Thank you to all the team

Lovely category normally a couple of month food is normally excellent however last one was not very good Cheap baked beans used and the brown sauce us NOT HP its refilled with cheaper option check the dates on the bottle!

We keep getting weekly cafe malaria lunch deliveries and it is absolutely faultless. The kebab and salad AMAZING Omlette and chips AMAZING pain is AMAZING and chicken tikka and salad baguette … you’ve guessed it AMAZING All the food is so fresh and tasty and great value and only £1 delivery Best lunch takeaway in burgess hill.

Cafe Makara have to be the best rated breakfast dinner and lunch shop in the whole of Burgess Hill. There is nothing I can fault them with - They are always quick, friendly atmosphere when picking up or delivering and good value for money aswell. The highlight of their menu is the chicken burrito wrap with chips chilli sauce and garlic mayo 😋

Great, traditional, family run, wholesome, kid friendly, good value, open all hours, good & properly cooked food (not rushed like most breakfasts are), AMAZING Turkish coffee, delivery service, genuinely lovely staff, always warm and comfortable... what more could you want!!?? 👌🏼 We've started going here quite regularly and to be honest don't take any notice the bad reviews there's always some moaner out there who's had a one off issue and not dealt with it very well! The peeps at Makara genuinely care and will go above and beyond to make sure you have a good experience! It's not a chain, it's their business so they're invested in it and it shows.

Honestly, one of the best full English breakfasts Ive had in a really long time. We both had the makara special and both had coffee and fresh pressed juice. Absolutely will be back and absolutely would recommend!! Also the staff are lovely.

We have been regular customers of Cafe Makara's breakfast deliveries since lockdown. The food is always really tasty and the delivery drivers are always polite and friendly. Would 100% recommend!

An amazing cafe! Staff are all very friendly and the food is great. We all went for breakfast and choose between the menu sets for a full English breakfast. Food was very good, very reasonably priced and one of us didn’t like mushrooms so was given the option to change for another item. Couldn’t ask for a better place for breakfast!

We ordered bacon baguettes. Skimpy on the bacon and dry. Disappointing. Not value for money. We will use one of the other nearby cafes from now one.

Avoid this place if you can, they charge so much of a slice of bread (a toast )!!! I think £2.50 it is ridiculous. And the guy at the front always angry never takes his time to get your order

our delivery food never came and they didn’t even update us on it, until we had to call and ask what’s happened with our food, 40 minute after the estimated arrival time. we did not end up getting a refund although we payed 40£ for food that we never got as the staff said they called us to find the house but we never got a call.. extremely unprofessional in catering for customers very disappointed. first and last time ordering from this place.

Food was great, used many times before always been great! Did an order today to pick up! What I ordered on website it said it came with chips but they where not there! For once I did not check order as every time before its always been right and I was in a super rush oh well!

Delivery is terrible. I've had two orders now that took over 2 hours to be delivered. Staff are rude over the phone and won't tell you whether your food has been cooked/out for delivery. I asked for a refund and the staff member hung up. We used to order from here because the food is good but the delivery has become awful. I thought the first time was a one off but now that it's happened twice I'm never ordering from here again.

Had some decent food from here in the past but today was poor. Bacon fat wasn't cooked, it was white and there was a lot of it, one sausage cut in half and one egg cut in half to fill a baguette is poor value for money.

We use Cafe Makara about once a month when we hold company H&S/Wellbeing meetings, they always deliver on time and everyone really enjoys their food. It means that all the staff are happy to attend the meeting and it gives everyone a chance to interact over a good feed.
