What great bakers, a brilliant selection of sandwiches, filled rolls, pasties. If you just want a loaf of bread, an amazing selection of choice of types and sizes. I had no idea there were so many. Coffee is my passion, and they serve a wonderful tasting coffee indeed, not the bitter variety you sometimes find! It is a great place to watch the world go by.

Decent little place this, room to sit down for maybe 10-15 people. Nice coffee, sausage rolls are decent.

Great selection of bread, sweet and savory pastries and sandwiches. The sourdoughs and the rye bread are excellent. Fab apple Danish too.

Everything is lovely in the bakery. And you get take away fresh coffee. A++++++

Nice bakery, always has a great selection of bread and sweet pastries. A cold drinks fridge, too. They slso serve hot coffees and a selection of hot pastries. There is also a nice selection of ready-made sandwiches. A great place to pop in for those lunchtime essentials. They have a small selection of indoor and outdoor seating and limited free parking on the road plus free parking at the rear of the shop. Happy to recommend.

Yummy baked goods, Apple Danish is my favourite but tried tuna crunch baguette the other day and almost got another one. So good. My kids love gingerbread man and novelty biscuits. Hard not to pop in when you go by.

My morning saviour! Fresh baked goods with a very good coffee! The coffee is as good or better than other huge chains! Staff are always cheerful and helpful

Been here a few times over the years and the staff are always friendly and the food is generally very good as well. This is a great place to grab lunch or a little pick me up. The croques are absolutely delicious, especially the mushroom and spinach one, and the savoury pastries such as the cheese and onion pasty always go down well. I’ve never thought of a bakery as the kind of place you’d go to for a coffee, but actually the coffee at Bake Out is really good as well. The only let down for me is the veggie sausage roll which I’ve had a few times and is always incredibly dry and crumbly, but there are enough other options that this isn’t too problematic.

Fantastic little Bakery, great goods with friendly staff. Top notch breads, especially their Sourdoughs. Croissants are top notch, with a good selection. Great coffee too.

I only use Bake Out for picking up a snack. For which it suits brilliantly.

Made a pit stop at Bake Out in Hassocks after a walk in the Downs with my parents. Food was delicious and the staff could not be more friendly and accommodating. Can highly recommend the seeded sourdough, had some toasted for breakfast this morning with butter and marmite and it was literally the best bread I've ever had!!! Great job Bake Out!!! 👍

Thursday 28th April ‘22. Bought an eat-in meal at Bakeout, Hassocks & asked the female member of staff for salt. She told me that Bakeout didn’t provide salt to its customers, as Bakeout’s meals were already salty enough. I suggested that surely it was for the customer to decide that ? The member of staff replied that regardless, Bakeout wouldn’t provide salt to its customers, as salt was a threat to people’s good health. At this point I gave up. Needless to say, we certainly won’t be stopping or shopping at Bakeout, Hassocks ever again. Disgusting attitude & dreadful customer service…

Nice food and bread choice early in day but sells out quickly of the top range of breads but bacon baps and sausage baps excellent.

Wasn't overly impressed with the food. The pizza slice was really really dry. Expensive for what it is.

First time to BAKEOUT and this is MUST It’s the cutest little bakery with delicious bakes. The marmite cheese straws and apple danish are to die for, The service me and my friend received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience.

I declined to buy a loaf today in Bake Out in Hassocks because the assistant picked it up with his bare hands. When I said that this was unacceptable as he was then going to handle the money he gave him, he assured me that he sanitised his hands. An older employee intervened but at no stage was I offered an apology. I left the shop without my loaf. I later saw that the loaf had been returned to the shelf for sale. Previously I have seen employees pick up loaves with a ‘plastic sheet’ so that they didn’t actually touch the loaf. I have always found the quality of the products they sell to be very good, but the level of hygiene today was unacceptable. I would have emailed the company but they don’t appear to have a website. An assurance about future hygiene levels is expected before I go in there again.

Tasty artisan sourdough bread, lovely staff!

Popped in today for the first time. Amazing fresh bread. The cinnamon swirl danish was one of the best ever. Still got to try my sausage roll but if it tastes as good as it looks I won’t be disappointed. Very friendly staff. I will definitely be making this a regular place to visit when I’m in hassocks.

I don't normally write reviews, but bake out deserves one. I came to that area for other business, thought I would pop in and see what was on offer as we were leaving. Let's just say I wish I had known of them before now. The food is of high quality, fresh, delicious, even my 10 year old beg me to go back there. Which wasn't hard (all the items we brought was excellent) even though we live at least 15 mins away by car. And our second visit lived up to the first. (Only reason for a four star is one item was forgotten which I had to travel back to collect, but they sorted it out and one toasty was not cut into two but the other was) Please keep up the good work to all staff members and thank you.

Sad to see such a negative report. Whatever the August client's experience we have always been delighted with this bakery. The sourdough seeded bread is truly dellcious, as is their trio of mini quiches. Yes, they do run out of various products - that is the downside of popularity - but you can order in advance. The staff could not be more friendly and cheerful. Hassocks is lucky to have Bake Out in the village.

I use this place often and have to say at how shocked I am at how much it's gone down hill. Staff not wearing masks, no screen. 3 in the shop when it states 2 on door and as for the sandwich selection it's gone right down 1130 am and only had one thing that wasn't meat and it was cheese and pickle. The bread was hard a stale,cheese was a different colour round the edge and didn't go up to edge and as for pickle well couldn't even taste it. It's a shame as this use to be my lunch stop.

Googled best bakeries near Partridge Green and this popped up. So bought a sourdough loaf which was very good.

Popped in to stock up on a few essentials. The look, ambiance, smell and eveything about the place was very appealing and I would happily recommend it and will very happily return

Popped in for lunch with my daughter. We enjoyed sitting outside. Great meal deal of sandwich, crisps and drink for £3.00. Cheese and spring onion sandwich delicious. Tiffin tasted fabulous. Will defintely return.

I use to go to costa before I found this little gem, never again! In bakeout the food is way fresher the cappuccinos are hotter and creamier and less overloaded with caffeine . I also find the current bake out staff the best ever, the ladies are very professional and really care about there business and customers. I have lived in hassocks for 7 years now and this is my favourite place to grab something fast and easy. I spoke to her manager the other day and I found him exceptionally professional and really impressed with this establishment. I think a lot of other businesses could learn a lot from bakeout as they really are good at what they do. The place is very simple but sometimes simple is all you need, somewhere clean, quick and easy just to grab something without all the fuss. I think these guys keep the place looking clean unlike other places, overall a great experience

Literally the best bacon sandwich ive ever had and the baked goods are really well made. So happy to find this place after moving to Hassocks

Clean fresh layout, food is very fresh and tasty and great value. Also the coffee is amazing!!

I often call in here on my way back from work at lunch time to stock up ready for part 2 of my day which is producing reports from home after a mornings inspections of property across Sussex. The range of baked goods and sandwiches is good and the pasties are of particularly good quality. Service is always crisp and obliging and the place is spotlessly clean and looks the part. I have also eaten a snack here both outside on the pavement at table and inside and the experience is good.

Only came here as car needed new tires, and it is opposite the tire shop. Dog friendly and welcoming staff. Good selection of pasties, etc, and desert items. Also good soup, and coffee. Can not comment about their bread as we just needed a very late lunch. Would go back again if we were every passing by.

The staff are fab, some even more fab than others, but all fab. Really good coffee, and they'll try to do it to just how you ask if you talk to them really nicely, but it's good as it is. They only drop one star because they never have enough large white farmhouse loaves. And why charge so much for a little one when even Waitrose sell the little one for 80p not £1.20!! Please, please listen to you customers and give feedback to head office.

It was clean very well laid out and had great service. The only gripe was that a few things were burnt.

Stopped here for some snacks and drinks for a long car journey. We got a croque, marmite and cheese straws, a steak bake and some drinks. Great service, lush smells and the girls behind the till were lovely. Can’t wait to come back.

This place is so good I sometimes make a special car journey to buy bread and take-away food - though you can eat in if you wish. The artisan bread, available in white and brown versions, tastes wonderful and is excellent value. Other freshly-made breads, including sourdough, cost more but are even better. A nice selection of sandwiches, hot pasties and enticing confectionery (brownies!) complete the choices. Swift and friendly service.
