La Campana in Mid Sussex

Our 3rd visit and another great meal. Service was faultless, all hot dishes served piping hot. The house red was more than acceptable as was the sangria. If you’re looking for authentic tapas and better than anything we’ve had in Spain, this is the place to go.

1st time at this restaurant. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food did not disappoint , it was delicious. We had about 12 different dishes and they were very tasty . Would highly recommend going here .

Great tapas. We went on a Monday evening and the restaurant was virtually empty but the waiter was wonderful and the food even better. Highly recommended.

We hadn’t been for a while, which is a shame. The restaurant has an intimate feel & the team are welcoming & knowledgeable, and then there’s the food. Wow! Everything was delicious..sardines, octopus,chorizo,prawns,many potato dishes,pork. All beautifully cooked. Thank you all.we’ll be back very soon

Food was great, sticky floors, manager was rude, likes to shout alot, sad really as we used to like going there.

Overall service was not that great. We were offered a small corner to sit,when the other tables were not reserved. Not sure of the logic there. Albondigas was good, the rest like breaded oysters, liver was just okay!

Disappointed with service and lack of friendliness. No welcoming to the restaurant just a general wave to the table we were to sit at. We were rushed to order the food, although it was delicious, and then no one was around to refill the drinks! Would not rush back.

Lovely lunch in the sun! Miguel and his team were charming as usual. The food was outstanding, a big shout out to the mussels in a creamy, tomato sauce. So good that I had to beg the chef for the recipe!

We had a family evening out to celebrate my wife birthday, even though there was 10 of us the staff were extremely attentive & the Tapas was excellent.

Just spent the evening in La Campana. It really is authentically Spanish and the service is incredibly friendly. Everyone is so warm and welcoming. We were even given a glass of wine on the house to finish our evening which was a very welcomed touch! The food is plentiful and very tasty. A delicious, authentic and friendly evening out in Haywards Heath.

We celebrated a friend's birthday and shared the grilled goat cheese, sirloin, fried chorizo, shrimp al ajillo, shrimp pil pil, chicken/ham croquettes, cod croquettes, churros with chocolate and banoffe pie. I would definitely come back for the sirloin, chorizo, gambas pil pil and churros.

Wow, have now eaten here several times. The food is delicious and they really cayeref fantastically for my daughter who has coeliac disease. On one occasion we had a steak it was huge delicious, tender and well worth the money. The range of tapas is fantastic, really tasty and there is something for everyone. They have amazing cocktails which ate reasonably priced and their wine is good. This has become a favourite of ours, and we look forward to going back.

Such a beautiful restaurant! The staff speaks Spanish and it gives you the vibe of being on holiday. Just had some nice tasty lunch, weather is brilliant, what can we ask for more? 10/10 great customer service xx thank you all xx

Excellent restaurant with a great choice of tapas dishes, authentic feel, and excellent service. Lamb skewers, whitebait, and prawn dishes were particular highlights. Would highly recommend.

Amazing traditional Spanish food, excellent experience. Most of the fish was sourced from Malaga, Spain. Would highly recommend and we will be visiting again very soon. Estupendo!

Lived in the area for ages and my first visit, I have certainly been missing out! Absolutely fantastic service, the quality of the food is brilliant. If you are unsure about what to order, just ask, they made us feel really comfortable and will be going back soon!

First time visiting this evening and we absolutely loved it! The food was delicious; we had a variety of tapas which were all presented well and tasted fresh. Very authentic setting and vibe. Prices were very reasonable, even the alcohol. Very friendly and hospitable owner who went above and beyond to make our little girls happy as we left. Average food and service, I wouldn't go again. The menu wasn't particularly inspiring and the options we picked weren't great, unfortunately.

Although I think the unseasonably hot weather contributed, our visit to this restaurant made us feel like we were on holiday in Spain. The food was delicious, with generous portion sizes for tapas, the sangria was lovely, service attentive, friendly and fast, and the overall ambiance was fabulous. Will definitely be back!

Staff are lovely- so friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is fantastic. All the classics as well as a few unusual, more traditional dishes. The Raxo (marinated pork fillet) is rich and and tender. Gamba fat and juicy. Pimientos rellenos stunning. Highly recommend. £85 for 3 people Inc wine. An absolute bargain for the quality. Will be back.

Super authentic tapas, friendly service and really high quality food. Only criticism is that we ordered 6 tapas and they all came out together so was cold by the time we got to a couple of dishes

We ordered octopuse, and we served one. Which has gone off and smelled Not nice at all.. The rest of the food was OK .... but obviously, the smelly octopuses put us off...

It never disappoints me. Although prices went up after the pandemic, the portions are still generous.

I am Spanish and have been working as a chef for 20 years. Enter the site to try it and see how it goes. I ordered the potato omelette, the croquettes and the fried calamari. The omelet was dry, and the eggs were very cooked, even more than a scramble egg. Obviously, it has nothing to do with a Spanish omelette, and it is obvious that it is frozen, and if it is not, the chef should be in jail. The frozen ones from Tesco are better. The croquettes had very floury bechamel, and the creaminess was conspicuous by its absence. and the squid, obviously, are frozen. I understand that it is difficult to find fresh here in the UK, but you can eat them frozen in good quality and then work them well. These in question were not like that. It was evident that they came already cut because all the pieces were the same size. when the owner/manager asked me, I told him the truth and he got offended. In fact, he told me "I think you haven't eaten in Spain." He also told me that people go there to eat the croquettes because it's what they like the most, and I wonder: if your croquettes are so good and famous, why only Do you sell a flavor??? why do you offer more variety??? simply because they are garbage. I honestly felt a little offended, because the quality is depressing and they just want to empty people's pockets. often without shame. I am very tired of the Spaniards who come here to set up businesses and serve junk food thinking that the English are idiots and will pay them for everything. We had to find the table ourselves, we had miserable service with a rude and arrogant person at the highest level, and even so, they charged us 10% service charge!!!!! What a shame for a Spanish restaurant

We stumbled across La Campana with modest expectations. The staff were reassuringly Spanish (and charming), as was the music. Estrella Galicia went down a treat and you know what, the food did the business too. Chorizo was a little fibrous but tasty nonetheless, Albondigas were the highlight - I don’t have a bad word to say about any of it. Sitting outside you could almost be in Santiago de Compostela….(with some imagination). Spanish food lovers will come away satisfied.

Amazing food and a great atmosphere.

Always reliably good after many years but thought it was more expensive as haven't been for a couple of years. Staff are always welcoming and polite and quick to help. Its a bit noisy when full so I tend to book a table in the smaller mezzanine area if possible. Booking recommended. No parking so usually walk there.

Ya había estado hace tiempo, para mi es parada obligatoria cada vez que voy a Londres. Aunque hay que desplazarse un poco, lo recomiendo totalmente. La comida deliciosa, el trato inmejorable y sobre todo; un ambiente increíble con personas que te hacen sentir como en España. Las croquetas, la carne de jabalí, el pulpo, la paella, la carne gallega…. Todo! Y von buenos vinos españoles

Decent late Saturday lunch, fancied some tapas we came along on Saturday around 1500. Went with garlic prawns, potatoes bravo, squid and bean stew. All tasty and good service

**UPDATED** We returned quickly as our first experience was fab. But sadly, it was as though we went to a completely different restaurant! There was no service, food was as though it was 'reheated' and the deserts were awful. Therefore, we will not go again!

If you want great food and amazing service look no further, this restaurant has this in spades. The foods is authentic Spanish Tapas, we had a great selection of hot and cold dishes, the meats cooked perfectly and the presentation excellent.

Really good customer service, las patatas al ali oli's sauce was exquisite but bud sadly one of the paellas had schrimps with eggs in them.

Pre wedding meal with my son’s , we had a range of different tapas all delicious nothing disappointed us. Just managed to squeeze in a dessert , banoffee pie which was homemade and particularly delicious.

Great place for couple or group of people to dine in. Nice ambience with lot of Spanish paintings, souvenirs and decors. Friendly staff. Fast serving time. Staff have good suggestions on menu. I am a vegetarian and choosing this place was not a bad option. There's lot of vegetarian dishes to chose from the menu. Prices are reasonable for the quantity served. 2 tapas would be enough per person and 3 for high appetite

Great friendly staff who were very accommodating. Food is good and well prepared with generous portions. We had a couple of classics (Bravas, calamares, croquettas) and also the kidneys (these were lovely). The mixed salad was pretty true to form. It’s good staple tapas. I wouldn’t compare it to the better places I’ve had tapas in Sevilla and Granada but for southern England (and touristy bits of Spain) it was really good I’ll definitely be retuning regularly.
