Fantastic meal for 4 people. Thank you

Editing my earlier review because twice now out of four visits they have got my order wrong. The first time they forgot to give me my veggie burger so my meal consisted of salad + veg. The second time they forgot to give me the veg I'd asked for in place of salad & chips. This is basic stuff, and it's a pity.

Great place great food very polite staff .

Had lunch with a friend. The staff were amazing and the food was gorgeous. Its a bit dark inside the restaurant which makes it feel cold but apart from that, I would go there again.

We would just like to say a big thank you to the chef and all the staff that worked on Sunday 11th August . You made our Mother , who was celebrating her 95th birthday feel so special, the food was delicious, staff were attentive and so helpful and friendly , making wonderful memories for her on her big day . Eleven of us , all thoroughly delighted . We would highly recommend . Food , Service and value for money , 5 star ⭐️

The food here is delicious, I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere at nighttime is absolutely buzzing and feels so inviting. As far as the hotel goes, I really liked our room. It was spacious and had a cozy and homely feel to it. I believe it was room 115. The one bad thing is that the room is not insulated from the summer heat. The roof above absorbs every bit of warmth from the sun throughout the day, and it was like being in an airfryer when we went to bed. It was so hot that I actually could not fall asleep. The small fan in the room unfortunately does nothing. Otherwise a nice stay with a nice breakfast as well. Also No wifi in that room:/

Had a lovely 3 course meal from the set menu at a very good price! Both mine and my partners courses were all cooked to perfection! I also really appreciated how accommodating they are for gf, many options on both the set and full menus and dishes listed as gf or gfo where the dish can be made suitable for gf upon request. This place should be the absolute Jewel of Lindfield, instead it’s just wrong. The inability to simply accomodate small groups without “pre ordering” a week in advance is just not in keeping with how we all live. The beer garden is lovely but the inflexibility is really poor. We have tried to book here several times and when we actually ate there it’s average at best. The toilets are also limited and difficult for anyone with mobility issues ( steps, uneven slopes and very tight)

An excellent place for dinner. I had the lamb which was delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive and it’s a lovely pub with a great interior and beer garden. Really good quality bread included too.

Stayed overnight on B+B basis for the Trading Boundaries music venue just 5 miles away. Bar and garden were full on arrival which was a good indicator. Simple check in. Room comfortable and good breakfast cooked to order. Would be a good base for touring Sussex. Lindfield is nice too

We live locally & have used this pub regularly. It never fails to impress, food is delicious, service excellent, plus it is a place with great character. The steak sandwich or plougmans are both great. Very nice staff as well. We have on occasion gone elsewhere & have never found a better pub. Fully recommend.

Just had the most amazing luncheon at this cute authentic pub. Praise all the way from making the booking to the service, food, atmosphere. Absolutely nothing to find fault with. Great menu selection - outstanding meal and service. Well done and proud to have this establishment in our village!👍⭐️

I come here regularly and it never let's me down but today's Sunday lunch was the best yet! Beautifully cooked , large portions and at a fair price; service is always friendly and excellent, even when they are busy ( which is almost always and today they were VERY busy!). Keep doing what you do guys , as it's the best Pub around hands down

Table booked for Sunday Lunch which we were so looking forward too as have been during the week several times . Table right near entrance to toilet ! Plus very large family group with children . So noisy we couldn’t hear each other speak . Eventually asked if we could move as there wa now a table free further away . Waited ages for very uninteresting Mozarella and Prosciutto started . The ages for Roast Beef ..which looked delicious t but had to wait another 5 minutes for veg to arrive. Roast Potatoes very dry and hard . Waitress continually ignored us when trying to get our bill .!!! All very disappointing.

Started very nice served straight away, then a large table of guests came in , as from that point we no longer existed Had to go and get our drinks ourselves from the bar,asked for a dessert menu never came,it was incredible how the staff literally ignored us

Great little pub, stayed here for couple of nights for work, rooms were comfy, staff amazing & food was fantastic & the portions were plentiful !!!! Would recommend & would definitely stay again

The food is sensational. Steak was cooked to perfection and the sticky toffee pudding was incredible.

Came here for lunch and everything we had was absolutely fantastic and delicious!! Everything tasted fresh and was cooked to perfection. The staff were all wonderful and the atmosphere was very welcoming and relaxing. We will not hesitate to come back!!

We called in for lunch at late notice and they were busy but the staff were attentive and found us space for three without delay. The food was excellent, the ploughman’s was excellent value for money and highly recommend - service was efficient and very polite. We had an excellent lunch and probably our best pub dining experience for some time.

We eat lunch at the Bent Arms several times a year and we have never been disappointed. It has been consistently good. The Ploughman's lunches deserve a special mention for both quality and portion size.

Great food at a reasonable price. Nice atmosphere. Downside carpark full and need to book a table well in advance.

Cycled here with my youngest child from Haywards Heath. Enjoyed a good pint of Thirsty Ferret and a lemonade. Sat in the garden in the sunshine. A great pub. Would have stayed for longer but parental responsibility prevented this from happening!

Busy pub, food excellent, lots of beams, cosy atmosphere. Had sandwich lunch but also do a set menu if you want a bigger lunch.

Have dinner, lunch, drinks etc here regularly. Best pub in Lindfield/Haywards Heath. Service always friendly, food always good and nothing pretentious. Love this place for atmosphere, good food and the bonus of being able to bring the dog!

Good food and service but overcharged with the bill. Six people, 5 ordering from the two course set menu and 1 just ordered a sandwich. When everyone had paid their bill, we were told that a starter and dessert had not been paid for. But we ordered those dishes from the set menu at a set price! Asked to have the bill recalculated and told not possible as till was an old till. Ended up having to pay an additional £8 for dishes ordered off the set menu. Very disappointing and will not return.

held a wedding reception in the function room, we were staying for two nights and as the function room was not booked the night before they let us in too set the room up and decorate. staff were wonderful during the day checking on emptys and bringing wines etc up, could not fault the helpfulness of staff, they were polite to everyone even the 5 year olds that were with us. would recommand

I had to start the squash roulade which was taste less Main course was the medallions of beef, which turned up 25 minutes after everyone had got their mains. The desert was meringue nests which were soft and not crunchy . The restaurant didn’t seem bothered by any of the issues

Met up with some girlfriends for lunch. All had very tasty home cooked meals. My salmon was very tasty can thoroughly recommend it. The prices are very reasonable and service excellent.

The six of us had lunch there yesterday, and it was lovely. They had no gas in the kitchen, and we were made aware that there wouldn't be any cooked meal option prior to the occasion. The friendly team went above and beyond to accommodate us and dished up a delicious lunch! We had a fab time! Thank you all!

Managed to get a table for my Birthday lunch .Made us very welcome and it was 2 pm . Wonderful food , perfect service. Crème Brûlée was amazing .

The service from the staff deserves 5 Stars to be fair. They were very kind and accommodating. The food was a bit average and a tad too expensive to warrant where they place themselves. I’m hoping the mark up is reflected in the service and not the food and it’s passed on to the staff in terms of pay and recognition coz it’s not the quality of meals that warrants this.

Food was absolutely delicious. Probably the best 'pub food' I have had in a very long time. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was certainly value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Long weekend exploring West Sussex. Stayed 3 night at the Bent Arms in the lovely village of Lindfield. A lovely old timbered Inn, a friendly local atmosphere with great food. Helpful staff and good simple rooms. A good base for seeing the coast and countryside.

I booked a table for 4 for Thurs 1pm lunch, (not expecting it was really necessary as most pubs are not overbooked on a weekday but wanted to make sure we got a table) Good job I did, as the place was virtually full and I saw a group of 4 who just popped in on the off chance politely turned away. Our group of 4 all went for the 3 course set menu at £21.50 and everyone was delighted with their starters, mains and desserts. Everything was really good. Our starters were 2 prawn cocktails a mushroom and feta something and a prosciutto dish. All were beautifully presented and generous portions. 100% polished off 🙂 Mains were 2 cod in crumb with crushed potatoes and veg. A chicken curry with rice and poppadom and a beef stroganoff. Everyone agreed each dish was excellent. Really tasty and cooked perfectly. 4 clean plates again. For dessert we had 1 sticky toffee pudding with Ice cream, a creme bruele a chocolate brownie with ice cream and a panacotta. Again, all 4 dishes were perfect. We had a bottle of sauvignon blanc, some local ale and a cider. There was no drinks menu on the table so we ordered blindly and had no idea of the cost of our drinks but it was fine overall. The wine was perhaps a little pricey at £27 but that's really my only niggle as similar quality wine usually costs around £22 we have found. But equally, we DID have a LOVELY lunch, the place was full but we didn't wait overlong for anything, service was friendly and attentive. Would definitely return and highly recommend. I'm not sure what happened to cause the negative reviews on here as we encountered non of the issues others complained about. Food was excellent, service was too. Look forward to returning soon.

Stayed for 1 night to visit nearby Bluebell Railway. Poor bedrooms . We had someone actually entering our bedroom at 11.15 PM . I complained to the manager the next morning who was not at all interested despite the safety implications and we did not even get an apology. Would not recommend despite the excellent meals.

Visited Friday night. As usual it was a really nice meal and fairly priced. All the food is cooked from scratch using good quality ingredients. You can tell from the freshness of the ingredients and the taste it's done properly and not microwaved. The home made bread is absolutely lovely! The pub itself is cosy inside and has a big back garden. Staff were friendly and helpful. Recommended.

Extremely disappointing. Lazy workers who just could not be bothered. Gave up in the end as the few who were working were actually just wandering around avoiding doing anything. Will never go again!
