Visited tonight (a Tuesday) and was very busy as great deal for £14.95 for 5 courses. Waited a while to get a drink and menus but as I said they were very busy. Main waiter was excellent but I must say the larger man waiter had a miserable face all evening and cleared starter plates away even though one of our party hadn’t finished 🤦‍♀️ However the food when it came (quite a wait (45 minutes)) was very very good. Tasty and hot. We will certainly return 😁👏

We got a take away this evening, it wasn’t very hot(temperature )and the popadom had 2 missing and were stale

We ate here one evening after passing it on the off chance.. absolutely beautiful meal (and that’s coming from someone who has two Indian takeaways a week). Best Indian meal we’ve had in a while. We came back the following Tuesday for the banquet offer - what amazing value for money! The quality of food and the amount you get for £14.95 pp is great. The staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for you. Highly recommend!

We have always had takeaways at my girlfriends parents from this restaurant and never been let down so decided to eat in. From the moment we arrived Ahmed and the staff was friendly and very welcoming. The food speaks for itself, amazing taste, perfect temperature and portions are huge!!! I can’t recommend this place highly enough and after travelling over 10 miles to get to the restaurant it did not disappoint. It’s mine and my girlfriends favourite curry house and wouldn’t eat anywhere else now. Top notch and highly recommended for anyone to try! Will be coming here from now on. Thank you. Mike & Grace

Had the most delicious curry this evening that we’ve had in Burgess Hill in a long time. I had a Dhansak which was absolutely beautiful, and so much chicken. My partner had a Tikka Masala and he said his was spot on. The Saag Aloo was great, as were the bahjis. The portions were perfect! We won’t be going anywhere else now! Highly recommend! 5*

The best Indian Restaurant in Burgess Hill (and Haywards Heath). The staff are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Food is piping hot and delicious. The waiters are extremely attentive and efficient. The restaurant is clean and the beers are served icy cold. The prices are reasonable. They have a lot of repeat customers which tells you something about the quality, price of the food and service.

Used to be the best curry house in Mid Sussex however since their recent menu change they have been awful. The staff have been rude and discourteous, they have reduced the amount of items you get on the banquet menu and what is and isn't included differs dependent on the person you talk to. I'm told you can't order a side in the £24.95 meal deal if you order a byriani because the vegetable curry portion of the bryiani counts as a side despite it not being a byriani without it. The person on the phone agreed with me but said it was "store policy". I was told it was also store policy that if I ordered two byrianis as my 2 main options I would then lose 3 items, the side and 2 breads. The logic doesn't make sense anyway but surely by that strange logic you should only lose 2 items not 3. He agreed but apparently it's "store policy", infuriating. The person I spoke too repeatedly told me and 'reassured' me that he was the manager yet called me back 10 minutes later saying he's just spoken to the manager. They just seem to be making it up as they go along and seem to be lost without the owner. It's a real shame because they were great and always made us feel welcome, always remembered me for every eat in and collection. On the plus side at least we get to try other dining options, as won't be ordering again. Personally I'd avoid, food is nice but at the cost of poor value and poor service is it really worth it?

A Monday night so very quiet. In fact we were the only customers for most of our meal. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. We were able to have a relaxed and unhurried meal in pleasant surroundings. The food was excellent and to be recommended!!

Had a table booked at Bueno appettito Italian restaurant and was asked to wait at a table on the pavement and after 10 minutes walked in and cancelled bad management and walked down to Taza and what a lovely meal and staff really welcoming and attentive would definitely use again thank you

Decided to get a takeaway for New Year’s Eve, phoned up to order for collection, was told it would take an hour. Waited around before collecting, I paid before hand, to only wait for over an hour and a half! Absolute terrible. They could not cope with the restaurant side nor the takeaway part.

What a joke this was ended up walking out after eating our starters and a drink. They only had two staff working. Took our order quite quickly as we are regulars but it got lost and had to be taken again. We waited 45 mins for our starter. They could not cope with amount of people in restaurant as well as takeaway orders. A table of 10 people were asked to leave after 45 mins without even taking a drinks order. All that was coming out of the kitchen was takeaway food no one in the restaurant had a main meal whilst we were in there for nearly 2 hours. Lots of us ended walking out in disgust. Not a good way to spend your New Year’s Eve. Now have to order a takeaway elsewhere.

I went to the Tara for lunch with a group of 15. We had the fixed menu at £12.95 each which offered a wide choice, something for everybody. The service was quick and the food arrived in good time. Overall a good experience.

We do sometimes eat in, they offer a very good meal deal on Tuesdays, but usually buy a take away.

Came mid week with my son to wish him well before he left home to start a new job. Food is always very good and very reasonable. Probably the 5th time I've been and never been disappointed. Shame it was so quiet though.

This is by far the cheapest and BEST Indian in town. My family and I have eaten from here several times now and have never been disappointed!!! After moving here from a different town over a year ago, we decided to try to find our new local Indian to go to. Due to this being the cheapest we thought naively, it would be the worst We definitely saved the best until last!!! The food is always collected from the restaurant by us and is always hot and very tasty. We usually have a lamb biryanis, chicken tikka masala with special rice (ask for no raisins to be added) keema naan and poppadoms with all the sauces. We have never been disappointed and this is a review I have been meaning to do for over a year now, many thanks Taza

Excellent food need I say more was exactly how i asked for it and enjoyed it more than other takeaways I have had delivered which let us down be back soon so glad I popped in.

After trying ALL of the Indian restaurants in Burgess Hill and Hayward’s Heath, our family always comes back to Taza. The waiting staff are always helpful, efficient, friendly and professional. They always check if the food is to our satisfaction and it is no trouble to alter it if it is too spicy. ( though this rarely happens!!!)

Our second time going and just as good as the first. The prices here are noticeably cheaper than anywhere else in town and the quality of the food is just as good, if not better. Definitely the go-to curry place in Burgess Hill.

Took over 1.5hrs to deliver and the portions were TINY despite my specifically asking. The food was luke warm and not very tasty. What a waste of 50quid. Disappointed.

Ordered a takeaway curry from them tonight and once again very late. They tell us an hour delivery and it’s 1 and a half. This is the 4th time this has happened!!!! We have been loyal customers. There is no customer service here. I called and complained and was told sorry and hung up! Awful! Poppadoms are chewy like they’ve been left out.

Great value and a great find in an area with few good Indian restaurants. Great range and enthusiastic staff who sometimes struggle to keep up with demand. We used to just drop in for a meal but, as more people find out about this gem, it is work booking.

Me and my partner visited here last minute this evening and were lucky enough to get a table without a reservation. The staff were very friendly and engaging and I would probably go as far as saying this was one of, if not the, best Currys I've ever had! Would highly recommend Taza!

What a find! £11.95 banquet special on a Tuesday evening was unbelievable value for money. Starter, main, vegetable side and rice or naan all included, every single dish beautifully cooked, my husband is a chef and couldn’t find fault in anything (a rare occurrence), the salt and pepper pots on the table went unused as everything was seasoned perfectly. We particularly recommend the lamb tikka starter, mushroom bahji, Taza special and Bombay potato, all executed perfectly. The only additions we made were a tasty bottle of Cote du Rhône and poppadums, served with the usual accompaniments including a truly wonderful lime chutney.

So I’ve had both a take away and a sit in meal here. Both times the food was lovely and of great value, but...

Have only done takeaway not eaten in, but food is good quality and value for money. They are not always very good on timing estimates, especially for delivery. So allow plenty of time during busy periods. Better to collect if you can.

Didn’t get delivered. Was so excited. Waited 1 hr 40 and nothing. Called to complain. “It’s coming” after much argument it still hasn’t arrived finally managed to convince them we deserved a refund, after no food!?! So annoyed. We order every week and yet nothing

Food took 35mins to come after that the guy who I can assume was manager asked if we wanted more drinks! And the curry was the worse tough meat and sauce was awful. Had many in my time and have travelled far and wide so have a good concept of what’s good and bad. After that £41 later was also the most expensive for a long time. The guy in charge was very slow with taking our order but was super quick when taking the card and was very thankful of our business. Spend less on slow service and bad quality food and more on attentive service. looking when we finished our drinks (30mins ago) & asking us then if we wanted anymore, we would have- would be appreciated. Service can ruin a business, good job I am not a mystery shopper!

Whenever I'm in England, my sister always takes me to her local Indian restaurant. The staff are pleasant the food lovely and at a reasonable price!

That means starter, main, side, rice or nan and coffee or desert for a fixed price. Great food but it's always fully to busting so don't expect an early exit. Cheap wine list based upon Tesco's sourced wine. Great location for groups but don't do the romantic thing on Tuesday!

There are many curry houses in burgess hill, but this is one of the better ones. Always a really decent meal and friendly service.

From a vegetarian perspective, this is the best eat in/take out, Indian restaurant in Burgess Hill. Delicious food at a reasonable price. Extremely hospitable staff. Used on a monthly basis for a few years, no bad experience. Bravo

We fancied curry and decided to try the Taza. My husband had been there a few weeks earlier with friends and said how good the food was, so that made up our minds. We hadn't booked a table but as it was early there wasn't a problem but I would imagine they get busy and they seemed to be doing a roaring trade in takeaway whilst we were there. We had the chicken tikka jalfrezi which was quite hot and the jaipuri chicken, both of which were absolutely delicious. The naan was fluffy and the poppadoms were freshly cooked to order. The service was great and the staff very friendly. Looking forward to going back soon.

We went to Taza after being let down by India Garden (Table booked, no table available on arrival) The staff were fantastic. The food was excellent and fairly quick. This will now be our regular Indian for both eating our and Takeaway. Highly recommended.

Went to Taza for valentines dinner, I found the food I had way too spicy, but when I spoke to the waiter, he happily took the course away and made it differently so it was more mild for me, this was no trouble at all and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal after that, also got a rose with the bill, nice little touch, had a lovely evening

We tried the Tuesday evening Banquet 5 course menu and it was brilliant. The food in Taza is so tasty and the portion sizes generous. We last visited in March and had almost forgotten how much we enjoyed this dining experience. We will definitely not wait another nine months before eating there again.

Went to Taza as a group to have a meal together and I must say the food was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for perfectly cooked food because Taza will never disappoint you.

Having recently moved to Burgess Hill we soon needed to find an Indian so we chose to visit Taza on a Friday evening. I am not someone who posts reviews but this time I felt I had to. This is a wonderful restaurant and takeaway run by a couple of young and enthusiastic front of house staff. It was a unique experience. Food is on point, you can lit taste the freshness; prepared by a skilled Chef, at an incredibly affordable price I must say. Service was excellent, very polite and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Ordered a takeaway to collect told 45 mins, arrived 45 mins later to sit there and wait a further half an hour as they had got our order wrong( not the first time). Such a shame as the food is always hot and very tasty. Just need to work on their service!!

Have been coming here for the last five years and the staff remember you every time and go out of the way to make you feel at home. Food was absolutely delicious. Could not fault it. Went with the family and we all loved it. The service again was great and the four of us enjoyed a complimentary drink of our choice at the end of the night. Will definitely be returning again soon!

Have been eating here (not regularly!) and getting takeaways for past 3/4 years. We have plenty of choice for Indian restaurants in burgess hill but in our opinion this is the best - lovely food, great choice and always great, friendly service.

Hadn't been to Taza before but since our regular curry house closed down we needed to find a new haunt. Visited with two friends and were not disappointed. Our welcome when we arrived was exceptionally ward and the restaurant looked clean and tidy. Our food was of generous proportions and very competitively priced. My wife and I had similar dishes and in fact only ate from one leaving the unused dish free for us to take home at he end of the evening.We all found the food flavoursome and it was served at a good temperature. There was no 'hovering' by the waiting staff and we were not rushed at all. We will certainly be returning and will also make a point of going on a Tuesday for the 'special price deal'.

About time I wrote a brief review on the Taza Indian seeing as this was my 4th visit. Everytime I have had the pleasure of eating here, the food and service has been excellent. I was here on Tuesday evening with some of my friend,though they was busy the service was very good, all friendly staff and there was a huge menu to choose from. I had a great chicken dish with a starter and I could not fault the whole meal. My friends had different meals and were equally as pleased.

Visited with some of my colleague on Saturday night ,In my opinionthis is the best Indian Restaurant and Takeaway in the Burgess hill area.i have been going to Taza restaurant since 1 year and this is certainly amongst the few that I would be prepared to actually recommend and not expect people to go there and find cause to complain.

Had to wait over hour and half tried to ask waiter how long food would be and he refused to come to table to speak to us and instead shouted over restaurant it was coming. Didn't offer any drinks in two hours we were waiting or offer apology. When food finally came it was poor quality chewy hard prawns and plain boring sauces. Complained at end of service and was laughed at by waiter instead of any form of apology!!

Visited here this evening.Waited an hour after ordering,we were clearly ignored as we were trying to get their attention to ask where the food was.We were told (from across the resturant) in a very dismissiver manner we were next but no clues as to how long.We waited a further half an hour for the food to actually arrive and even then not all the dishes came at the same time,there were a few other tables in who were having the same problem.No one came over to apologize for the wait and at no point were we asked if we would like another drink/anything else for the whole hour and a half! when the food did arrive we were really disapointed.The food was extremely bland and not very hot i suspect it had been sitting a while.Ive had better currys from Tesco! None of us finished our dishes in fact most of my table ate next to nothing.We told the staff we werent willing to pay the full bill because we waited so long for the food to arrive with no apology or concern and explained how we had been completly dismissed by the rude waiting staff.He actually stood and argued with us,but didnt even come over to the table just shouted at us from the bar ive never seen such awful customer service before.He went to get the manager and after a further 15 min wait he arrived and told us he would give us 20% off we said we werent paying more than half.We asked for the bill which took another 10 mins when it arrived it appeared he had got his sums wrong and added an extra £10 in somewhere! when we queried it,after all the problems we had he stood and got a calculator out and checked what we said,twice.Unbelivable.We waited again for the card machine.we were in the resturant for over 2 hours and spent about 10 mins actually eating.The staff were extremely rude and happy to stand and argue with us they seemed to think it was funny,we didnt think so.The guy on the next table who had also been waiting forever said to one of the staff about us 'your going to loose 7 customers there' and the waiter shrugged his shoulders.If you want a good indians and good service go to the Indian Garden down the road! cant believe how bad this place was,needless to say we wont be going again!

Visited with 6 friends on a Saturday night. We had to wait over 2 hours to get our food. In this time we weren't asked if we wanted any drinks, or given any apologies for the wait, in fact the waiter ignored us. When I asked when the food would be ready the waiter shouted over the restaurant that it would be soon, he didn't even have the courtesy to come over. Still no apologies. When the food arrived it was below average, the prawns were rubbery, and the dish was tasteless. We had to wait an extra 10 minutes for the final meal to arrive. When finally we were asked about the quality we told them what we thought, to which the waiter found it funny. When I told him that I found his approach rude, he got incredibly defensive and argued his point (obviously never heard of the customer is always right?!) We eventually spoke to the manager who also found it amusing. The customer care was horrendous. I would strongly advise you never to waste your efforts here.

After googling and finding this was a 5* food hygiene rated restaurant I decided to order a takeaway ,It did arrive in good time but the food was horrible I ordered a chicken tikka masala for my son which when came was a chicken tikka dry starter I did say Masala and main and never had a problem ordering this dish at previous restaurants.

Absolutely the best curry house in Burgess Hill by a long mile. Probably the best for miles around. Lovely people, good service and fantastic food. Don't bother looking anywhere else.

Visited here just over a week ago. Have eaten here before but not recently. We dined with 4 friends and have to say we were all let down by the slow service. We were not offered any explanation as to why we waited so long, firstly to take our order and then the arrival of food. Over 45 minutes for the starter ? The food was not of its previous standard and it did seem that take away orders were being given priority (as noted by a few previous reviewers) The staff were pleasant enough but something was clearly amiss as other diners were being kept waiting for far too long. The food, when it arrived, was pleasant enough but not exceptional. Such a shame as we were all left disappointed. Better luck next time maybe?

Me and couple of my friends visited this restaurant and we were never let down the moment we entered the restaurant as they greeted us with a smile.The food was exquisite and the staff treated us with respect, every item we ordered was one time and tasted really good.

This is our first time out, and the service was warm, open and very welcoming. the starter presentation was excellent and the meal was full of amazing spice and flavour. They catered for young children who don't quite enjoy those hotter spices, but the chicken Korma is a nice pick for children. the tandoori Chicken and Lamb was moist and to die for. In my opinion this was Excellent.

Visited the Taza again last week on the Valentines eve with my wife and here I am again. The food was exquisite by taste, the staff were very friendly and the whole restaurant was actually packed but we didn't have to wait for long to get a table as well as the staff were very attentive. keep it up guys, see yous soon.

it was a birthday party so decided to go with my family; I must say we had a blast that night. the food was brilliant and the service was excellent and the way they behaved with us was very good to see. The Tandoori chicken was fresh, steamy and melts in your mouth and the Biryani just brilliant to eat also very good with pricing and after that night every birthday I will go there so that I don't waste my money somewhere else. Myself and a group of friends visited this restaurant a couple of weeks ago and were not impressed with the service.We had to wait over 30 minutes for our food to arrive and before that we noticed that the takeaway service was given more attention than the customers already seated in the restaurant.There was no apology given for the wait and to make matters worse our bill at the end,we feel,was way to expensive for what we had eaten.In previous restaurants we were not charged for dips and the food was not that good for the price we paid.

My first indian for many years after a bad experience and my favourite Burgess Hill curry house (Shapla). Trip advisor reports suggest Taza is very good. I was not impressed, food is very ordinary.

We have ordered from Taza twice now, first meal was excellent, apart from the Matar Paneer which came 'wet' not 'dry' as ordered, so wasn't really paneer, more like melted cheddar. However tastes were excellent.

Loved our Indian meal at Taza. Crisp poppadums with a tangy lime pickle and a delicious korai chilcken. Very tasty, each mouthful delicious. Cauliflower side dish with al dente vegetables. We were surprised that on a Saturday evening the restaurant had only a few tables occupied - it had been a wet and over-cast day but for us the curry cheered up a drab weather day.

I went here for the first time last night with four old friends and my wife.We all had a terrific time,everything was perfect,food,service and price.We all had from the buffet menu and seemed to be able to order anything we wanted including sweets and to top it all half a box of after eight mints.Highly recommended.

My husband is from Bangladesh so we've tried our fair share of Indian restaurants, and would definitely put this one very near the top of the list of our favourites. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly. The restaurant itself is a little cramped but that's not a deal breaker. It is also quite pricey, but well worth the money!

Every dish we ordered was exceptional, the staff looked after us as we ordered and they were all superb. We would recommend this curry house to everyone, my partner had the lamb shank special dish and it was up there with the best dishes we have ever tried. Having moved into the area in October 2013 and left my beloved best indian restaurant behind I am very happy to have found the Taza, having sampled a few others in burgess hill.It is a good modern restaurant with a great team and superb food, honestly the best in the area. Chicken tikka dhanska, king prawn jalfrezi and all the trimmings are top quality and flavour. We are on holiday and planning our return meal for this Saturday .. Can't wait!

I am proud to live on the same road as Taza and have often popped down there on a Friday night to pick up a takeaway. The staff are always polite and the first time we went, having just moved to Burgess Hill, the food massively exceeded our expectations. The lamb dopiaza is brilliant with tender chunks of lamb, a great sauce and poppadums and onion salad on the side. Can't wait to try their 5 course buffet.

I have been going to the Taza for takeaway and sit down currys for 8 years ish. They have good professional manor and anything i order is always great. Upper class to other curry houses in burgess hill and good value for money. I recommend it.
