My friend and I chose to go here because we loved the name of the pub, and because it was near the launderette and we had a very nice experience here while we were waiting for our washing! The landlord is delightful, a very friendly and helpful chap, makes you feel really welcome - has a nice choice of ales. Highly recommend, if you find yourself in East Grinstead for any reason!

A small bar which used to be a micro pub with choice of craft beer. Now very limited choice and for me not worth the visit. Staff friendly.

Tries hard, but for me never ticks all the boxes. Range of cask ales has reduced since I last visited 4 years or so ago, and now there was only one. Staff seem indifferent, but far from being rude.

Great family run pub and nice atmosphere with a real old fashioned pub feel. Good draft selection and mix of ages in here. Will visit again and can't wait for the food they are looking in to offering!

Really weird but really cute little pub. Sport on TV cheap drinks with a decent selection. Small though so I can imagine seating could be an issue from time to time

A great family run bar, £1 deal at the moment on a pint of ale through March. Highly reccomend for footbal and a few jars with friends, deffo going back.

Very friendly pub close to trains, buses and bike routes.or just a place to walk to. Beer is served from the barrel at a very reasonable price. It also has Sky sports. That's good.

Started out well with a nice chilled vibe, then a giant TV appeared, filling half the pub wall, and it went down hill from there. People go out to get away from screens don't they? Talk to people, all that old stuff. Haven't we had enough of screens the last couple of years? The pub about 50 yards up the hill has screens with sports on if that's your thing, and it is a big enough pub that you could be in a bit without a screen. The huge irony is, the Sportsman pub the other end of town is quite a quiet pub with no big television.

Lovely little pub. Landlady very jolly. Talked about their football teams.

First visit since the change of ownership, great selection of cask ales, draught beers and cider. Definitely will visit again when I am next down.

Once a friendly Micropub specialising in Real Ales, specifically Sussex Ales, Something different and unique.. Now just another loud football bar full of screaming and shouting.. Shall not be returning. If you are looking for a nice place to drink, sit and chat with friends, then give this a wide berth!

Great place!!! We were there all day for the tennis and football, and despite losing had a wicked time and couldn't have picked a better spot for the finals - they provided free snacks for the game and the crowd and staff were so friendly and made us feel so at home, especially Luke who was an absolute mega legend and went above and beyond for us!! Thanks guys xxx

This pub looks a little unusual from the outside as the frontage is still very much like a shop. However, inside it's nicely done out, some comfy seating and a pub feel. One of our group asked for an IPA, the person behind the bar didn't seem to know what an IPA was, which was a little surprising, but someone else in the pub suggested which to try. A friendly atmosphere, seems popular with locals.

Good the boss bought me a drink

This was our second visit (always give someone a second chance). The beer is nice. The prosecco was nasty. The whole place was cold and smells of wee.

Decent micropub serving the best ales in town. 6 casks racked up behind the bar, I think others were available too. Cider and wine also available. I had a stout from 360 brewery, it was good. My wife had Pinot Grigio straight as there was no soda. Various cheeses, crackers, olives, bread etc available, free gratis, though donations welcome. Power cut on our visit so candles all around. Friendly regulars and a great atmosphere created by the staff. Great visit, definitely returning, worth visiting East Grinstead for.

Unfortunately went there when it had just opened, and were awaiting a delivery. Or at least that was what I was told as every drink I ordered for my companion and myself, 'was on the delivery '. The (I can only assume)landlady/manager was marching around, bellowing into her mobile for the entirety of our hastened visit due to a serious lack choice and it was colder in there than outside. Shame to see such a promising little business being so poorly run.

Great place to relax with one of usually at least half a dozen fine ales, ciders too. Good selection of bar snacks. Friendly staff and other customers. Appears to be dog friendly. Only criticism is that I don’t like cloudy beers and because of the millions of real ale drinking vegans!!!!! the brewers have seen fit to omit finings from many of their ales on this pretence. Nothing to do with being able to market their beer early as it doesn’t need to clear! Or the saving in finings! Just call me cynical! But anyway Kent runs a fine hostellry and it’s well worth a visit.

Love this place. Great beer, nice and quiet. If you want a great real ale and a relaxing atmosphere this is the place! Just don't all flock here or I'll then hate the place. ☺

Visited the open arms after passing from the train station into town, fantastic selection of ales that regularly change, i had a nice mosiac! Although small didn't feel that way with the atmosphere from the locals, actually felt like I'd been coming for years! Also had a great selection of bottles and cans which you could also takeaway (which I did gladly!). Over all really impressed with the warm welcome from staff and the excellent beers!

Come on people of East Grinstead, this micropub needs your support. The quality of beer suffers because they're not getting the custom they deserve. It's a very welcome addition to a town like EG - their nearest competitor is a grim cavernous Greene King hell-hole at the end of the road. The Open Arms is split level, interesting bar with a good choice of unusual ales and yes, they even sell lager (though not a big name brand). It's also handy for the station

A great Micro Pub a pretty well balanced selection of 5x beers. Good unassuming decor and convivial clientelle. It is a go to in EG for real ale drinkers.

Visited with a couple of friends, friendly locals & staff plus good selection of beers at reasonable prices. One of East Grinsteads hidden gems, very cosy environment. I will return next time in the East Grinstead area.

Excellent range of beers, and ideal for a post train commute tipple. well kept local ales. suffers from being a very small premises, with very plain decor. not a great deal of atmosphere, but it does what it says on the tin....

Specialist pub selling real ales

Friendly micropub for a selection of ales poured straight from the cask, including some very local beer. Very convenient for the station and the steam railway as it's 300 yards up the road.

Unfortunately I was not able to sample the ales as the pub was shut at 12.30 on Friday, would the owners please update the opening hours sign on the window.

Nice atmosphere in this little pub, decent prices l, the Merlot is good and they run a great pub quiz every 2 weeks which is busy and loads of fun.

Super small boutique bar with local sourced and varied craft beers. Welcoming reception and a quiz on Wednesdays.

its not a microbrewery its a micropub but they get their beer from microbreweries in the area the beer is well kept decently priced and pretty varied whats not too like

This is a friendly little place in-between the station and the main town. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the beer they serve, many of which is local stuff. It isn't likely to be somewhere for the younger crowd but anyone that enjoys a proper drink in intimate surroundings will be pleased.

Not a chain pub with a selection of drinks as well as gravity dispensed real ales

This is a micro pub close to East Grinstead railway station, the Bluebell railway and the main town centre so within easy walking distance from everywhere. It's a small building with various little seating areas with low and high seats. The barrels are racked up behind the bar and blackboards advertise what's on offer. The beer is well kept with a good choice available and constantly changing so you can try out different breweries.
