Lovely dinner sitting on the terrace overlooking the park. Well timed and friendly service from Katie. The swordfish was delicious. Reasonable prices too.
Chilston Manor hotel is a lovely hotel with friendly staff but I and my husband were very disappointed with what they call a luxury afternoon tea…we had three little finger sandwich's with hardly any filling in them….dry scones…what was nice was the sausage roll,we had to ask for the tea as it didn’t arrive, when it did it was stewed & strong…will be returning NO !!!!
We were passing through and booked for supper in the bar and Brasserie. Our family had such a warm welcome from Reception and the Restaurant team. We were so impressed with the brilliant food and service. Especially Allison's attention to detail. Our evening felt like an unexpected Michelin service experience. Thank you all. A Lovely welcome home All this while the hotel was busy with functions. Impressive.
If you look at the real life picture they have provided them self, you can clearly see quality of it. Greasy, sprayed with 3 different chem sprays to "enchant" flavours. Chese sliding off the pizza like it doesnt want to be there due to very diluted tomato souce. This is as far from good pizza places as im from coming back
The place was empty and the 2 ladies working there were too busy chatting to each other (turned away from the counter) to notice anyone waiting. Tried to get their attention but music was loud and was ignored. We were clearly an inconvenience so we won’t return.
Stopped by today for a spot of lunch and drinks. Food was really good, smallish portions but perfectly filling. I think the price is fair for what you get, its all fresh tasting and clearly cooked to order.
What stops this being a 5 star review is a lack of any acknowledgement when you come from the staff, when it is wait to be seated you expect a quick hello, won't be a moment from someone. Just not the best first impression.
Awful place avoid service was shocking food was bland waited 25 minutes for a drink got starters before didn’t want to pay service charge as was so bad the staff were abusive and very rude changed the bill price several times
Good space, and decent staff but poor/expensive food. Breakfast was OK for our large group of golfers, however a lunch tuna sandwich was so thin of filling I had to complain - for £7.50 was a rip off. everything else about the bar was pretty good, although did close quite early. Suspect other food pricing not great either
A very warm welcome! Food was so lovely! Would definitely recommend . This restaurant needs some local vibes. Hosts are nice, friendly and proud of their food!
We were here in the area for a weekend and looking at the reviews of various pubs opted to try The Unicorn. We weren’t disappointed - from the friendly greeting to the roaring log fire in the corner, we felt very much at home. There was a good choice on the menu and the prices were pretty reasonable. Food was absolutely delicious and portions so large we couldn’t manage a dessert. We will definitely come back again next time we are in the area and I recommend everyone else to do the same as it’s a lovely little pub.
We stayed here too in a very large room which was great.
We met friends for dinner and each of us had the most delicious meal and would definitely recommend eating here.
Just had a wonderful meal with great staff.
Unfortunatly, we hit the "App is garbage" problem.
Having visited this venue since their previous 1 star cleanliness status had been raised with new management, our 4 previous visits have been wonderful.
Their app rewards you for returning. We had 4 stars, £30 off a £60 spend.
On recieving the Bill, our 4 stars have been reset to 1 and the £30 promised discount was nowhere to be seen. Our waitress, who was generally helpful, had no idea what to do about it. We paid the bill and have deleted the app as we wont be returning.
