Good space, and decent staff but poor/expensive food. Breakfast was OK for our large group of golfers, however a lunch tuna sandwich was so thin of filling I had to complain - for £7.50 was a rip off. everything else about the bar was pretty good, although did close quite early. Suspect other food pricing not great either

We picked out a cocktail of the week, which was lovely!! The bar staff asked our opinion and if it could be improved which was sweet. A lovely view over the grounds, could quite happily sit there and chill for afternoon into the evening just lovely xx

The bar tender was nice, polite and friendly. The place is spacious but really disorganised. The place was dirty my chair was cover all with oil, the table was not clean.... My cup coffee was a mess ... I dislike to see a cup of coffee that is not clean and well presented. Prices are not cheap. The views are stunning to the golf courts so all is green and relaxing. The toilets are not near by

A quick venture to the Zest Bar and we enjoyed a tasty snack in the afternoon. Toasted BLT and some other food was served very promptly and without any fuss at all. Definitely the place to visit if working the gym, the pool or the Spa.

We stayed at the Tudor Park Hotel and visited Zest a couple of times. The food was ok but not great at all. The first night we had chicken wings to start - they were lacking in flavour and the salsa just tasted like tinned tomatoes. I had a pearl barley main with mozzarella and leaks, which was actually quite nice but needed more salt. My partner had a lamb curry which he loved. We washed this down with an amazing rose wine. I forget the name, but we were told it was chosen by the captains of the golf club. If you go, it's the one priced £33 - absolutely delicious! Lucy served us in Zest and she was amazing. Really welcoming and warm. More staff need to be like Lucy. She made up for the lacklustre food. The next day we sat outside by the pond. It's beautiful and a sun trap. Again we had the lovely rose wine. I had a beef steak caesar salad which was nice, but not worth the £15, sweet potato fries which were cremated and my other half had beef brisket pizza which didn't taste great. You can't actually get table service outside but they charge for service which is a bit of a cheek. You need to order at the bar, they bring the food, but they won't bring starters and mains at separate times. They could really make more of the outside area, it's a shame the service isn't there. They trail the food down a fire escape, the main access to the outside area. I can see some of the older guests were nervous going up and down it. Then we spotted dumbwaiter that wasn't used. Maybe it was out of order.

Nice bar area at the hotel. We ate lunch& dinner there on our first day. Nice menu, with ample choices. Prices are reasonable. Service was fast and efficient. Dean was our waiter for lunch; he is truly a friendly ambassador for the hotel.

Three people in the Zest bar on a Monday evening at 6:30 PM, but including one ordering food for his family. Two bar staff serving and after a few minutes one becomes free but instantly then disappears into thin air, never to be seen again. Meanwhile, the other bar person continues to clunk away at the till touchscreen, ordering the family's food but appears to have finally finished and having waited for a FULL 8 minutes we are now confident that we are going to be served with a drink on the hottest day of the year only to be told that we have to hang on for a moment whilst the person concerned goes to the kitchen! The moral of the story is only use the Zest bar when Shirley is on duty who is most efficient AND very friendly. Dreadful customer service

Basic food that you order at the bar............then wait for it...........you get hit with a massive service charge on the bill..!! Recently had food here after a golf event.........very basic food & very expensive..!! Come on Zest Bar.........your ripping customers off....!! Service charge should be optional & not sneakily added to customers bills after they have qued at the bar to order food..!! Very naughty Zest Bar ::(( Really don't have no problem tipping but come on don't force it on customers without them knowing..!! Shocking ::((

We have stayed in the Tudor Park Marriot Hotel on many many occasions. The Zest Bar is part of the Golf and leisure club attached to the hotel. There is a pleasant outside seating area located at the bottom of a formidable set of stairs, which is great on a warm sunny day as it overlooks the golf course. We have been there probably a dozen times without realising that there is a 12% service charge on the bill. There has rarely been any table service, the vast majority of times we have ordered and collected at the bar and carried our own drinks down the stairs. The tables are frequently not cleared. I don't mind paying a service charge when there is good service, but this is nowhere close.

Had a very nice meal here after a day out in Leeds castle, we were staying at the hotel and were too tired to go out again. The staff were very efficient and helpful. We timed it right too as just as we were finishing the whole place was swarming with very loud wedding guests who took over the whole area!

Hubby and I decided to take a pit stop at the Marriott Tudor Park on our way to a garden centre, and went up to the Zest Bar for a coffee and a bite, with a view over the golf course. We ordered tea cakes, but they had none so very kindly gave us 2 scones each with jam and clotted cream for the same price. Thank you Shirley and Sarah for looking after us excellent service. The staff are always friendly and efficient here.

Three of us had lunch at the bar on Friday 2nd Jan as walk in guests. The restaurant was not open for lunch. The staff were very accommodating with our disabled guest and the bar service was attentive. We ordered pumpkin ravioli and a spaghetti bolonaise. Both were very dry (reheated??) and the spaghetti came with grated cheddar instead of parmesan! My husband was able to have a sirloin rather than a rump steak (more expensive) but it was not medium rare, as requested, but well done and came with rocket rather than the advertised watercress. We felt the quality of the food was not comparable to the agreeable surroundings and was therefore overpriced. Incidentally, the hand drier in the Ladies' toilet was not working and no other means of drying hands was provided.

Use the Zest Bar on a Saturday afternoon and a great atmosphere awaits. Good mix of health club guests, golfers and families. Choice of bar meals, nibbles and drinks. Great service from Lucy whenever we use it.

Having visited many Marriott hotels we tend to dine in the Zest restaurants. Unfortunately for some reason this menu was not as expanse or desirable also it seemed dearer than other Zests??Nice staff but food was bland and unappealing which was a shame.

Liked the fact we could dine here rather than the expensive restaurant. Variety of breakfast options, good service. Enjoyed a quick dinner here too. Food fairly good quality.

Zest at Tudor Park is a nice little restaurant: clean with a great view overlooking the golf course. The staff is friendly and courteous, and the Afternoon Tea which I had was simply delicious! Pretty good value for money I'd say, and free Wifi from the hotel.

This is a sports bar although doesn't really advertise itself as such. As it was the only bar open we had to have lunch within groups of golfers & football watchers - not ideal.

We have a new General Manager at Tudor Park who if truth is to be told is going to bring about some major improvements here. I tell you what he has got his work cut out in getting this through to some of his staff. Had a quick spot of lunch today in the Zest Bar, a misnomer if I have ever heard one, with my daughter and grandsons, spent over £100, food absolutely fine, service decidely average. Ignored by the waiting staff, had to keep going up to the bar to order more drinks, order desserts, and had to move our finished dishes ourselves on to adjoining table to make room for our desserts. Ironically the new GM arrived towards the end of our meal and very rudely interrupted two of the waitresses who were having a good old natter at the bar. Strange place, Tudor Park, the famous expression a curates egg definitely applies here. The hotel, the restaurant, the Mezzanine Bar, great, great service, the Zest Bar i.e. the golfing side, totally naff service.

We used the Zest bar at Tudor Park after 18 holes, the choice of food is OK, and the portions are fair to middle size, however, the price of the food and drink is higher than average, but I suppose it is a hotel.Service was good so a tip was left, but overall the meal was not one to get excited about, hence the average mark.

6 of us recently had sunday lunch at the Tudor Park, its a cavery. The service was not great, the staff are all foreign and struggled to understand our drink order, apart from a lovely South African lady, who was very chatty and charming. The food, wasnt great either. Starter buffett, very small choice, same for puddings. All in all not good I'm afraid.

Phoned the day before and was told that we didn't need to book a table in order to eat, yet the following day we turned up and was refused food as we hadn't booked a table, even though we were told not to book the day before, wasn't able to book one there and then either, staff weren't accommodating and actually quite rude. We ended up going to the fish & chips

Chilston Manor hotel is a lovely hotel with friendly staff but I and my husband were very disappointed with what they call a luxury afternoon tea…we had three little finger sandwich's with hardly any filling in them….dry scones…what was nice was the sausage roll,we had to ask for the tea as it didn’t arrive, when it did it was stewed & strong…will be returning NO !!!!

What a dirty horrible place everything seems and feels grimly. No body clearing tables. And some staff training in customer service wouldn’t go a miss.

UPDATE… This store has been run into the ground, the lovely staff members have all left, one very nice young man “sacked” for a pathetic reason. We now go to Sainsbury’s and buy large rolls and fillings and make our own. What can one say.... it’s a big roll with filling. Staff mostly friendly. Can run low on fillings towards the end of the day.
