Friendly but slow service, and not good value. I ordered the Cottage breakfast. When it arrived, after nearly 20 minutes it consisted of two small overcooked rashers, a sausage which was small enough to qualify as a half sausage, a hash brown of minuscule proportions, one half tomato, a small fried egg and a large pot of baked beans. (I declined the mushrooms) There were two generous slices of toast accompanied by a single pat of butter each, just enough to smear most of the surface, but not enough to make you feel that you had had any butter. For this I was charged 11 pounds 50, with 3.30 for a small Americano on top. It was edible but not delicious. Basically it was a disappointment. If you are going to offer breakfast try and inject some pizazz into it and remember that if you have someone ordering breakfast it usually means they are hungry and don't want to wait 20 minutes to be served. The place was nowhere full so what the wait would have been like with multiple orders who knows. Won't be returning.

Beware when ordering food from this shop. Call them to check if item available if you don't want to lose your money. Ordered from just eat a week ago the items I ordered were unavailable. The staff cancelled my order on the phone with me. My order was placed via just eat and all now 11 days after I'm still waiting for my refund. Just eat customer service is invisible and can't be contacted via phone calls. Very bad customer service. Next time there an option to mark sold out item or unavailable items.

Great food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Lovely traditional and unspoilt pub. Have visited numerous times over many years and have never been disappointed. Noticed that there is now a new outdoor area, really well made and tasteful. Looking forward to using that when the weather is a little warmer! Paul Jonsson, Woking.

Visited to meet walking friends for midweek lunch. Red Thai Curry was great and the sandwiches looked good too. Unfortunately my visit was marred by the lack of proper heating; they seemed to be relying on one small log burner to heat the whole pub. Additionally the gents looked very “unloved”, had no hot water or hand towels and the hand dryer wasn’t working.

A plesant surprise, we're not locals and were passing at lunch time and needed a snack. Well the Red wine was surperb, along with the starter and Pizza, thin just as my wife likes it. Every table was reserved, which was a good sign to us, we could only be served as we were not staying long. This Pub deserves 5 stars.

ordered a kung po chicken , egg fried rice and salt and chilli pepper chicken. i believe it took less than 15 minutes for the whole order to be prepared. food tasted really good and quite worth for its price (20£) as I’ve got half left over and im quite a big eater. The kung po chicken doesn't really taste like the authentic ones I’ve had and leans towards the sweet and sour side but it still tastes good nonetheless. Will definitely be back (a bag of prawn crackers was also given)

Service was slow, not the staffs fault but once we actually did order it was quick enough! There's not many veggie options and they didn't have some stuff available. They didn't read back my order so think they charged us extra for some stuff (also don't get an itemised receipt so can't prove it, not ideal) and £1.50 for a pot of sauce is a bit of a rip off tbh It's a shame because the boileroom used to do amazing food, the noodles were to die for but the current kitchen menu is a bit meh. It's good to have something rather than nothing though.
