The Drummond in Guildford

Had a staff party here a couple weeks ago and couldn’t have asked for better service. The team was so friendly and the food was amazing. Shout out to Hannah and Luke who took great care of us!

It was a fantastic atmosphere with delicious food and beautifully presented. We will be back.

One of our two locals. Incredible burgers (best in Guildford overall) and amazing Sunday roasts so you should book. Always great choice of ales and beers along with wines and spirits. Staff are friendly and helpful even when busy.

Great explanations, turned out to be disappointing. No local parking, Waitrose carpark 7-10 minutes walk away. Once I had ordered my drink I waited an unacceptable amount of time. Another staff member came over and said if I had my drink yet, no I had not. My drink arrived a short while later. The sea bass was good the steak and ale pie you needed a jackhammer to consume. Great presentation slow service, but in fairness they were busy. No logic to who was served first one table had two visits from staff while I needed to attract attention. The location of my table probably had something to do with that. Seated by the window close to the entrance door. The contents of the pie was good unfortunately the contents only occupied a third of the rock hard pastry case. The mashed potato was good as was the green vegetables just cooked and crisp although cold fortunately there was gravy to warm up the vegetables and lubricant the rock hard pastry. The desert was good, a damson crumble similar to the crumble my grandmother used to make.

I have been to the Drummond before for a Sunday Roast which has always been great. Unfortunately this Sunday the food was disappointing. The chicken was dry and hard, possibly kept under a heater too long and generally, the food was lukewarm. They were obviously very busy and understaffed which was reflected in our experience. We had already waited for our food so didn't send it back. But all left disappointed. Hopefully just a one off.

Still do don't have all of the limited menu a lot of the time. Kitchen closed by 20.30 on a Friday! (27th tho)

Thank you SO MUCH to The Drummond Team!! My Christmas dinner was AMAZING, made it all the way to work and didn’t even need to heat it up, everything was perfection. MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄

I came here with family & even though we were an hour early it was no problem for the bar staff who quickly showed us to our seats. The food was amazing. I had the steak & pale ale pie with buttery mash, leeks & red wine sauce & it tasted amazing (I would highly recommend it) Hope to visit again soon.

I went to visit my friend at the Drummond and we shared a camembert and nachos! The starters were delicious and there was plenty of it too! The atmosphere was amazing with beautiful Christmas decorations all around the pub. Staff was very polite and welcoming. I would recommend this pub to anyone!

Had the pan fried sea bass and the fish and chips. Both were very tasty. The chef made the lemon sauce for the sea bass to perfection. Totally tasty. Highly recommend.

Fantastic food today. We had the shared roast and my son had the sea bass. Super fresh and the roast was superb. You could taste each part, cooked perfectly. The staff were really friendly. Highly recommend. Can't wait to come back.

Drummond is more or less my local. It's usually very good - the sausage and mash they do never dissapoints. Service is usually decent, and the guest ale selection is a nice change from the usual beers most pubs have. I have had meals round lunchtime that have not been of the usual quality over the years, and the price tag is high for food and drinks here, therefore I cannot give 5 stars. Never had an issue with food in the evening service.

Had our team Xmas lunch for 20 people. There were a few problems our end with people wanting to come and also dropping out at the last minute but the team at the Drummond were fine with the changes. The chefs pulled out the stops and all the courses were well presented, hot and delicious. Chocolate torte was a standout. Service was great and we were made to feel welcome. My thanks to the whole team there.

My daughter and her friend both paid £16 each for a roast dinner on the app, but were told there were no roasts dinners and never received a refund. They went in to the pub twice to complain and get there and the Manager dismissed them. Disgusting.

I was visiting the music shop next door and I dropped in for a bite. Friendly service, good food and a nice fresh pint. Had the chicken schnitzel which was excellent, price was not exactly cheap but this is not a Wetherspoons.

I popped in for a drink,The lovely lady at bar was so welcoming big smile the best service loves doing what she does,The pub itself large inside Amazing decor,comfortable seating,great food menu friendly chef,I guess he probably!no does cooks with passion and love for what he does,with the help of other staff. Good beer selection, friendly service, not had the food but it looks nice

Lovely food, good selection of drinks and staff are friendly Food is really tasty and seating available both inside and outside (some outside seating is covered so doesn't matter if raining) Can easily set up a tab if you're there for a while. Update November 2023- went for burger night on Wednesday and was not disappointed. Deal includes a soft drink but I upgraded for £1 to have an alcoholic pint instead. Good weekday lunch deals for sandwich, chips and drink. Update November 2024- Mulled wine is delicious! 🍷

Great pub the lighting can be a little low but the food is great. Try the chicken schnitzel :) They even have gluten free beer.

Had an amazing time at the Drummond this evening. The food was fantastic and the bar staff were great. The highlight of the night was the quiz going on. The MC Demi (covering for the usual Luke who is also great) was fantastic and was a brilliant host. Would highly recommend coming along… even if I didn’t win the quiz :)

This place made me love British food and Guinness. Fish and chips are seasoned just right and delicious plainly. Guinness Draft Beer is so attractive every time that I want to revisit the UK.

Lovely vibe, slightly pricey, good for a pub quiz and such.

What an absolute GEM and I don’t use this word lightly. Family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children booked the family room. The family room ( wheelchair accessible ) is an annex set in the beautiful grounds of The Drummond public house. Ample parking with its own stream. Large king sized bed and two single beds in adjoining rooms with an interlocking door. Original wooden beamed ceilings with ample of room to get around. TV in both rooms with tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities. Bath, shower and toilet all nicely decorated. Selection of great evening meals available and a children’s menu to boot. Breakfast ( served between 08:00 / 11:00 ) is included in the accommodation price ( see photo ) All the staff, without exception, were efficient, friendly and made us feel comfortable nothing was too much trouble. The whole family would rate this is idillic GEM 11 / 10. Would we stay here again ABSOLUTELY

A great local pub with friendly service. As well as normal drinks and meals out we have used to celebrate a couple of occasions with a large group including lots of dogs. The team are really friendly and make sure everyone is well looked after. Food is consistently great quality and it has a good selection of drinks.

Every person who works here is pleasant and a true joy to be served by from front of house to back, been here many times from open mic night on Thursdays to just a quick one after work, even tho when I played bucker roo on me I forgive them. Lovely an true gods and goddess of hospitality, Dionysus would be proud him self.

Nice pub, lots of space inside and out. The food is decent, plenty of options. Love that you can order food and drinks from your phone, saves you from having to queue up the bar. Good stuff.

I don’t want to be too harsh although I did have a really poor experience my first time at the Drummond. I was recommended to go here by a friend, as I recently moved to Guildford and heard great things particularly about the food and I have to be fair, the food was really good standard and for the most part, the staff were really cool and welcoming. The reason to why I have given one star is really down to the quality of projector and the particular bad service from one individual who works there. We booked a table way in advance to watch the first england game and was really excited to be with our friends and celebrate the start of the tournament. For me personally, watching England is a really big deal to me, having played football and watched football my whole life. I politely went to the bar 10 minutes before the game to understand what was going on and asked the staff member, if this could be looked into and the reply I got was just extremely nonchalant. He said to me that ‘’ this has been an issue all day and we got people earlier in to fix it although unfortunately had no luck’’. He then mentioned ‘’that he is not an IT engineer and that if I was really desperate to watch the game, that I could go to a local pub called the stoke’’. To be fair to him, he probably has had multiple people ask him the same question but I think he needs to have more empathy and understanding that this is a pretty big event for certain individuals and even though the Drummond didn’t purposely do this, the end result stays the same, it did ruin my night in all honesty. I would also mention, if this was an issue from much earlier in the day, why didn’t anyone drop us a call or an email to say that this particular projector was causing real issues and that it may be better to go elsewhere? It wouldn’t have been that difficult and would have at least given us the opportunity to have time to look elsewhere! We ended up having to go home at half time due how bad the quality was. In a large group, there was no chance we could have got seats to watch the first England game at that time and would have completely ruined our experience even more. I would be happy to change my review, if the pub reached out to me and showed me better service than what was given. I don’t like giving pubs like The Drummond a bad review that clearly has great standards for the large part. Name: Elliot

Soft drink was quite pricey. The environment is nice.

Very picturesque restaurant/pub, with wooden floors and panels and large windows. The dishes are very varied and delicious. It has large tables and several screens to watch football. Very lively atmosphere and we found the staff charming.

Lacked time to do a proper review before, so an update. Staff are very friendly and nice selection of drinks. Food fine, but very overpriced on a good chunk of the menu, even compared to central London prices. I'd happily drink here again, but would find it hard to justify the food cost of eating.

Frequented the Drummond for years. Good reasonably priced food & beers. Always looked after by Craig & his team. 👍

Excellent Sunday Roast - generous portion size and all the elements perfectly cooked. Serving staff well trained and efficient. More gravy provided on request. Great atmosphere.
