The establishment exudes a welcoming ambiance, and the staff demonstrates exceptional affability. The pricing structure is reasonable, and the pastries are of high quality. The coffee is also quite enjoyable. I would certainly return for a quick coffee and a bite to eat.

Excellent. Truly excellent. Nicely maintained. The interior is great with a very calm atmosphere (mid Sunday afternoon - I have no idea about other times). There is music (and I'd prefer there wasn't) but it's not loud. Suddenly I remember: the lighting is quite stylish without being an eyesore and without being snooty. And if you want a V60 coffee, you can have it! 😍 My coffee was lovely, and served in the proper container to keep it hot too (but not indefinitely, of course). Some chairs were kind of like the style you'd see in a primary school, but that doesn't do any harm. I didn't feel uncomfortable at any point, and I think they've got a 'banquette' like a big long sofa (or chaise très longue, we might say). Service was just right too. Would I go again? Unquestionably. You know what to do......

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was well prepared and the drinks produced promptly. Very happy.

Visited many times, staff always reasonably polite and coffee is decent. Unfortunately, prices keep going up and it's now almost £4 for a "medium" cappuccino, and the amount of milk, that I've noticed numerous times, being wasted is quite unnecessary

Coffee is great, the crew are all friendly and welcoming! The only coffee shop with secret upstairs lounge area where you can sit on comfy chairs and sofa!!

Relaxed atmosphere for a quiet coffee

Three very brief visits, but I know someone who used to go there three times a week usually without fail, who loved it there and used to have a laugh with the amazing morning shift (whoever that may concern because I know shifts change about) So out of my visit and my friend's visits I can only give too marks as they were very good to him and me. Best customer service I've ever had anywhere

The coffee here is hands down the best. The ambiance was very peaceful and the barista was super sweet.

The coffee is incredible, and the love the baristas put into making each cup is clear. I know it will seem ridiculous to many to be impressed with the "coffee art" but it just shows the time, care and attention taken to make you your hot beverage!

A nicer environment to savour the delicious coffee and tea in the most exquisite cup and saucers than the more well known coffee shops on every high street. The Barista was lovely. Downstairs was a little busy, a few people working, on lap tops and on calls so we took our delightful cups to the lounge upstairs. So, much quieter with a book swap too. Comfy settees and arm chairs. Perfect for escaping the noise of the city.

My wife's toasty was so soggy, she managed half of it. My chicken and bacon baguette was so hot you couldn't taste it. Friendly service but if food is not good, Never again

I love this coffee shop, it's the only one I use when in Guildford.

Love the coffee and the staff. Enjoy the lounge upstairs but really sick of people using coffee shops as their office, especially when they have calls to make.

The filter coffee was incredible. Smooth, crisp, you could actually taste the flavours on the notecard!

i’m not sure of the names but i came in on the 17/08 around 6pm and the staff were so so lovely ☺️ i suffer with a bit of anxiety going places by myself but they really made me feel comfortable having a bit of a laugh and being genuinely so nice, amazing service and really nice coffee / food. it really makes the difference when you have a friendly face smiling walking into somewhere especially if you’re by yourself ❤️ 10/10

Not a massive coffee drinker but this coffee is great!

Came in around 6.10pm and asked for an iced vanilla latte and was by far a lot better than the big chains (Costa, Pret, Starbucks, etc...). Much better coffee and great service to add. Thank you :)

Nice place love the chooy cookies. But miss the comfy up stairs section. It was a big reason I went there.

Very good value for money (only 2.70 for a pot of tea / 4 cups of tea) and the upstairs floor is perfect for revising in while having tea. The atmosphere makes it easy to focus

They let us bring our dog in which was pretty cool. Had a chicken and bacon baguette, was very nice. Will probably go again.

Nicely located at the bottom of North Street close to the Friary Centre. Staff were friendly and helpful. Coffee was ok for national chain and good value. Toasted sandwiches were tasty but the cheese one was a little heavy on the ricotta.

We use to have a coffe somewhere in Guildford but honestly the atmosphere on Harris is great!! Tasty coffé offered but price are really hight for a small coffé cup. As many areas in London they don't take cash so many people they just move to somewhere else.

The food here is always nice, nice selection to choose from, will definitely be coming again.

Had a lovely breakfast here last week with a stunning cuppa coffee. Highly recommended.

Arrived at the Harris&Hoole in Tesco at 12:45, wanted to order a Proper cheese toastie and hot chocolate to be told by the girl behind the counter they can’t do anymore toasted sandwiches as they are about to close!!!!!! I drove from Ripley to them as the App indicated they close at 4pm. Service poor

Nice coffee shop in centre of Guildford. Nice selection of coffee and snacks. Great for people watching if you get a window seat. Still a nice place, even if you're not in the window. Not our first visit and will visit again when in Guildford.

Disappointing latte, disappointing croissant

The cafe could do with a deep clean in general and repair of the toilet facilities. Staff were wiping down surfaces in the prep areas, but their efforts didn’t do much to make up for the general grubbiness. Upstairs is nice. Drinks were tasty, but barely lukewarm. That seems to be a theme amongst other reviewers. Staff were pleasant enough. I would suggest the owner needs to do a walk around with a customer’s perspective in mind.

Beautiful setting, beautiful layout. The staff are incredibly friendly and upbeat - it seems like they love their jobs! Also the coffee tastes great, and it’s dog friendly too!

Came in and really liked the look of the place. It was clean and had a choice of stools, comfy chairs or tables. The chap serving was friendly and welcomed me, and I ordered my coffee which was made within about 3 minutes or so despite there being a queue. It was slightly colder than I would like but it was lovely and silky smooth and had a strong but pleasant flavour. It was £3.40 so the higher end of the price range I expect to pay, but, I could also plug in my laptop and get some work done which I really appreciate.

Hot drinks take a really long time to be made, even when there isn't a queue and they are only ever lukewarm.

Absolute rip off. Really watered down ice coffee and iced peach tea. Lots of ice very little of anything else - just three very expensive glasses of water with minimal taste or flavour. Either don't order iced drinks or avoid this coffee house altogether.

No breakfast as the fridge is broken. People could not care less - grubby service.

The service of drinks is very slow, so you're standing around the counter for ages, and then once they have made them the 'hot' drinks are barely lukewarm. I honestly dont know how they manage to make freshly made drinks so cold! I did try them for a second time another day in case the first time was a fluke, but my drink was actually colder on the second visit, and listening to/reading what others have to say, this seems par for the course. I definitely wouldn't recommend.

Not good at stopping people from taking other people's drinks. The plain latte that got put into a takeaway cup with syrup for me after it had been sat there for 5 minutes after someone took my large caramel latte with an extra shot Would've preferred a fresh one, paid for an extra shot and this tastes like a half of one. Got mugged off pretty much. :(

My coffee was cold so half way through .I asked one of the staff to warm it up for me.the coffee maker with glasses was nice enough to offer me another coffee but the manageress stopped her in an impolite tone.I felt too embarrassed So I left without drinking my coffee.I didn’t want a fresh coffee in the first place all I really wanted was to warm up my own coffee!

Rude and unfriendly staff…girl with black and white hair asked what milk we would like in my husbands tea, and I replied ‘normal’, to which she gave me a filthy look and told me “Well, ‘normal’ is relative isn’t it?”. I thought I must have misheard her, as I was so shocked, and said “pardon” to which she repeated it even more vehemently. I was stunned that I was being reprimanded for using the word ‘normal’ when referring to milk!!! So unnecessary and inconsiderate of her to feel she needed to be so unpleasant with me about something so incredibly insignificant. Haven’t we all got enough to cope with right now, without needing to be politically correct about what type of milk we choose to have in our drinks…? She continued to bad mouth me to her colleague behind the coffee machine while we were putting lids on our drinks. Such a shame that staff are short-sighted about trying to retain customers for the business they work for. Looks like other people have had a similar experience with rude staff in this cafe also. We’ll go somewhere independent next time.

My friend and I popped in for a hot drink and to have a brief rest. The cafe was very clean and well-organised. I would say that the hot drinks themselves were not brilliant. Not bad per se- just average really.

Bland at best. Bland good morning .. zero Bland serving of my coffee. No eye contact, limited interaction of any sort . Had to ask for milk, not offered hot milk , wasn't asked. Generally not friendly, certainly not towards me. Staff now busy bantering with each other. Why so robotic. Lighten up. Be pleasant.

Had the worst ever sandwich and vile bitter coffee today. No plates. Sandwich in a box as apparently the dishwasher broken. But I did see plates on tables. The guy serving felt like he doing me favour. This place was good when it first started now it’s dirty and just awful. Won’t be going again. Better places to visit in Guildford.

My iced flat white was good but they seem to make the iced drinks warm? The mocha cooler I think it was called is like a blended cold drink with ice but it came out warm so we had to ask for ice twice for it to be considered a "cooler"

Premises were not very clean, chairs had stains, no one cleaning tables between customers and display shelving very dusty.... Coffee and sandwiches okay but not enough to warrant a return visit.

Have always liked this coffee shop. But not today. Do the staff not understand the situation. Not rude or unfriendly. The whole place was grubby. Tatty. It is not hard to keep a standard, but then not independent Tesco owned. Will not return

I've been going here with my parnter since first moving to Guildford 4 years ago. We used to really enjoy going there and were happy to find both a place with good coffee and staff that cared. Sadly that wasn't the case today. The young lad who served me and my friends was just down right rude and clearly didn't care for us being there or for being there himself as he sat on his phone while not serving. The young girl seemed a lot more friendly sadly she wasn't serving otherwise perhaps our experience would have been more pleasant. On top of this he had his mask half way down his face not covering his nose. Surely serving the public you need to be getting this right ?

Coffee was ok. In the 30 minutes we were the the staff did not come out and clear or clean anything. People came in and left once they realised nobody cared.

Cute little independent coffee shop with friendly service. The only annoyance was the lack of option to put your own sugar etc in your drinks, the counter staff had to do this, but no major issue. They've clearly removed seating to make space for social distancing, which I appreciate, but there was still plenty of seating available.

We went there for coffee and snacks early one morning - we won’t be returning. The person serving was rude and abrupt, the cafe was dirty and they didn’t even have any butter for a toasted tea cake - but didn’t let me know until I’d paid for it and they brought it over! There was no sign of cleaning any tables down after customers had left, I feel this is imperative during the current pandemic. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
