Caffe Nero in Guildford

The coffee was not great, bitter and stewed. Had a ginger biscuit which nearly broke my teeth! Worst of all were the toilets, which were disgusting with used paper on the floor and stains on the seat. Won't be visiting again!

Nice coffee shop on the high street. Discount if you've got their loyalty card app.

Great service. Forgot to mention we wanted decaf cappuccino, was willing to pay for new drink but they replaced free of charge. We went back a couple of hours later because they were so lovely.

Shout out for Sam on Friday very patient kind and thoughtful, and coffee is soo much better than the other one beginning with s, i will be back, had take out drink only but it did look cosy in there.

Disgusting areas and coffee is never made correctly. Too many chains of coffee shops in the town anyway.

I enjoy visiting this Nero as it’s quieter and the service is friendly and quick. Lots of options available for food and drinks. Would recommend.

Really nice atmosphere with exposed brick walls and wooden tables and comfy seating, nice place to work and spend some time, drinks are reasonably priced, has toilets and free WiFi.

A wonderful place to have Coffee and its likes along with short eats that goes with it. This cafe is right on the famed Guildford High Street... The interior is very welcoming and allows you to have a quick hot beverage, while at the same time has a good environment if you choose to stay longer and be immersed in your thoughts or conversing with your friends and family.

Got served by a young looking dude called Sam! Great services and goes beyond what I expected! I ordered an oat cappuccino which was delicious and the food was very well cooked. Be suprised at how many coffee places struggle with not burning the food lol thanks Sam

I was in Guildford briefly and glad I made the right coffee house choice. I got serve by smiling staff who went out of their way to make sure the experience was as nice as it could be. I was served by Eleanor who was faultless. She went that extra mile to make my time there present… a credit to the chain 😃

They provided very good quality of coffees with a very good services! Really nice and being friendly to customers especially to the people with disabilities. I love to come here enjoying the coffee and chilling with my friends there. Not a big coffee shop but still nice. Recommend.

Very kind staff gave me a complimentary drink while I was there (I tipped instead). Some tables needed to be tidied but it was a busy day so it's understandable. Would go again.

Today pay £4 for this luxury hot chocolate and it come with this tiny cup. Spoken to the server and the answer is this is the size the management decide. Rip off Nro

It’s a nice a quiet place for working and having an alone time. The place is small but the set-up is nice. I love the small single table with chairs on the side and every table are equipped with power socket. I ordered cappuccino and salted caramel cheesecake. The coffee blend is nice and balanced. The cheesecake is gooey and I like it.

Very good and speed service, coffee with strong and distinguish flavours, cakes and pastry ready for your taste. Sometimes really busy, decent prices. Definitely recomend.

Why have I only given 2 stars? Due to lack of hygene! We often use Nero and Costa and of late have continually had to ask for the table to be cleared amd cleaned before we use it! It was really ludicrous today when I asked politely and was virtually told NO they could not! To elaborate the staff told me that there were only two of them (in Guildford at 2pm) and they had expressly been told to serve, only! So when I asked what I should do, I was informed I could gather up all of the dirty dishes myself and carry them over to the counter! When I asked for a cloth and cleanining product, I was told they weren't allowed to give customers chemicals! At which point the guy next to her decided to come and do it! Finally! Absolutely ludicrous! WHERE ARE HYGIENE STANDARDS? With this attitude in coffee shops, it is not any surprise that Covid and a myriad of other illnesses are rife!!!

I don't like this Caffè Nero, I have gone twice to ask for different orders and they always have it sold out, the one on North steet is better.

The coffee is always good but the chai latte is pretty awful. Barely any flavour and chai spice and the residue at the bottom is like congealed slime. Decorations are homey and the hours are decent

I had a few coffees around Guildford during a two day visit, there are some amazing indepependent coffe shops but guess what,...ask for pouring cream for your Americano and they look at you at you like you have two heads:( No problem in Cafe Nero though, it's still the same as I remember it, shabby chic industrial everything with decent wifi and a clean toilet. I paid extra for the single origin Guatemalan roast, it didn't taste much different to how I remember their normal stuff but that's probably because I dropped a load of pouring cream into it:) Staff were reasonably jolly, I left happy and refreshed.

What has happened to Cafe Nero High Street ? It used to be a lovely place, a few years ago, in the last year it has totally gone down hill?? There are never any pastries ? Always a few old stale scones, never like before there were many things to choose from and the shelves were always packed with nice things. The tables are always dirty and sticky, it is very shabby. At one point it was not opening on time it would be closed on turning up. This was a lovely coffee shop let’s get it back to how it was.

Service was with a smile, and everything I had tasted great. There was an issue with interior decoration in that many of the chairs had stress rips and needed to be replaced urgently. The soap dispenser in the gents had cracked and would easily cut a child's fingers, so needed to be replaced. Convenient location so would consider for takeaway.

Staff friendly and helpful, premises is quite narrow and was a challenge getting a seat which could accommodate our large greyhound , we managed, no adverse thoughts come to mind.

The staff are fine but this place should only exist in a model village, it is too small and to make the most of this they ordered in tables from Lilliput especially! And downright worse WiFi I have ever seen in a cafe Nero, it disconnects every couple of minutes as the signal vanishes into the ether,quite spoilt my visit and it will be the only time I ever come here.

Always a favourite of ours! Varied menu of hot and cold drinks, and a selection of cakes and hot/cold food. Recommend the specialty caramel latte if you have a sweet tooth.

First trip to my favourite coffee shop today and wasn’t disappointed. Brilliant coffee, service and staff.

Is busy lunchtime and weekends to cater for shoppers.

A nice location on the high street, but not well adapted to Covid safety measures, for the shop is long and narrow, and customers queuing and ordering leave little room to get past to the rear half of the shop where the toilets are. Also all hot drinks are served in paper cups only now, which I get might be a Covid measure but if sitting in I'd rather have my drink in porcelain!

Really love going to grab a coffee at this Nero’s. The staff are lovely and it’s a nice cosy cafe which is great to escape to from the busy high street. Enjoyable trip and will be returning for sure.

A fully flavoured cup of coffee is posible! Forget the competition, their watery brews can staywhere they are. Caffe Nero has proper coffee with real taste, and friendly staff It can be crowded (pre-covid) but that's because its popular

The safety measures put in place during the current Covid-19 situation are to a high standard. Limited seats are available inside, queuing is spacious and the staff are taking the correct safety measures when serving etc. Very pleased and felt safe.

Busy, tables not cleared and customers apparently vacating tables but in fact only stepping outside for a smoke. Probably just the time of day (10:45am) on a Sunday. Needless to say we went elsewhere for our caffeine and cake fix.

Nice comfortable place for coffee and a bite to eat - spacious, various styles of seating to suit anyone, groups large or small, good coffee, great snacks and cakes; service can be a bit pedestrian - I think it is the galley kitchen set up!

Huge engraved wooden sideboard worth noticing behind the counter. Would look wonderful in a French country house. Chai latte served week and warm! Biscotti biscuits are reasonably priced and teeth shatteringly tasty!

The cafe is very small and a little crowded but the staff are welcoming and friendly. The coffee is good too.

This is the cosy version of Nero in Guildford. As the only coffee shop with its main entrance on the High St and being on the small side, it can get busy especially around lunchtime (and Tue/Wed when O2 Priority people come in for their freebie!). It's a good place to sit and think though, if you like buzz but not too much.

The worst place I have ever been. I will never forget in 2011 being refused service because they only serve British people there and if I wanted coffee I should go back to where I came from. When I complained to the head office, I had an apology and coffee vouchers... as if I'd go there again!! Shocking behaviour from an INTERNATIONAL coffee chain.

Babies not welcome here! Not impressed that there was no baby change facilities here & no high chairs. The staff said there was insufficient space in the loo for a fold down change table- which is absolutely not true, he management just clearly don’t care. Made it a very stressful experience as had to kneel on the floor to change my daughter (whilst being 8 months pregnant!!) and had to buckle her into her pram to feed her. Come on, Nero - not good enough!
