Fantastic service and food. Had the roast which was amazing. I actually haven’t got anything bad to say about the whole place. There is no room for improvement. The meet was cooked perfectly. The service was spot on. If I could maybe say one thing it would be that there wasn’t enough gravy on the plate however I’d really be being picky there. Really enjoyed my time here and will most definitely be returning at some point. Thanks

5 stars for sure. Everything about our Sunday lunch experience was excellent. It was our first visit to the Horse and Groom and most definitely not our last. Lovely building and we were met with a very warm welcome. The restaurant was light, airy and spacious...... not sitting on top of eachother. The menu was varied but we were here for Sunday roast. The menu recommendations led us to the scallops as a starter and the creme brulee for dessert....... both incredible but the piece de resistance was definitely the trio of roasts. The quality was amazing...... chicken was to die for and don't even start me on the dauphinnoise potatoes. We did splash out with sides and a lovely glass of red (perfect temperature) but was worth every penny. Finished off with coffees with a homemade macaroon on the side...... exquisite. Fabulous experience....... thanks H&G ...... see you soon. If we could give more than 5 stars we would...... highly recommend 👌

Don’t book for bottomless brunch! We booked the bottomless brunch deal for my dad’s birthday that is available on the website. Our waitress said we weren’t allowed to have it and we were forced to pull up evidence of our booking and the website link. We then were only served one drink and had to chase down staff to get another drink (this is not bottomless!)

Food below par ordered 1/2 chicken more like 2 chicken legs 🍗 would not eat here again staff how ever were brilliant so def would go for a drink but not the food sorry

Delicious food coupled with excellent service made my birthday party a one to remember. Perfectly cooked Ribeye made the day even memorable. Sticky coffee pudding and Lava cake are also a must have. The vibes are warm, cozy, and relaxing.

Can highly recommend for great food, excellent service in a pleasant environment. Being a group of 11 we had pre ordered and all meals we dished up efficiently, hot and as requested. Food portions quite generous and very tasty. Our party had roasts, steak, burger and fish dishes and all were presented well and tasted really good. Roberto the manager was mingling with guests to ensure everyone was happy and ensuring the service was spot on. A huge thank you to all the staff who made an Easter Sunday family meal, superb! We will be back soon.

Always liked the pub but has had a mixed success with some previous owners and their food...now back to its best. We had a very mixed aged family group and chose a wide range of food - everything was superb: duck, linguinie, nourish bowls, and fine choice in Hogs Back and Sharp's beers.

Highly recommended this place for a great Sunday lunch or meal. Good service and environment, especially as it's really doggy friendly. Gluten free is well catered for. Food standard is excellent and the highlight of the visit. We had a roast, rib eye steak and calf liver and mash special. All were brilliant. Thank you for a very good experience.

Extremely slow service. An hour wait for mains, over an hour drinks. Waiters and waitress very polite and sweet, manager miserable and abrupt. Inedible plant burger which ended up making into a chip butty, ‘nough said!

Gorgeous building, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk overall it's very good.

The lava cake was rich nd gooey, with a perfect balance of chocolate nd sweetness. The fish nd chips were crispy on the outside nd the roast beef was cooked to perfection, juicy nd flavorful. Overall, the food was delicious nd satisfying.The atmosphere is warm nd inviting, nd the staff is friendly. It sounds like i had a great dining experience! 🍽️😄

Visited on a Sunday for late lunch. Met some friends who had already taken their seat at the table. They were sat for about 10 mins before us and hadn’t been given menus or offered drinks. We then continued to wait for another 15 mins after we ‘found our own table’ as no one was there to greet us on coming in. I then had to go and find someone so we could order some drinks… the restaurant was quite full with tables but literally not one waiting staff was visible. The service then continued to be shambolick… took ages to order, for drinks to arrive, for food to arrive and throughout constantly looking for someone to help and no one was to be seen… we asked for condiments and basically finished our meal before they came. You could see other tables getting frustrated too! Final straw was a kids dessert being offered to an adult at the table 🤦‍♀️. To be honest, the food was pretty tasty and a good selection on the menu but the awful service put a dampener on the whole experience. Shame. Don’t service food all day if you don’t have the staff to serve it.

Average.....reason being there was no real ale. It's a personal thing. Marston's products are average to say the least. You have a captive audience....no other pub in reasonable walking distance. Therefore don't sweat about it ...my comment won't make the slightest difference to your till activity. Have a nice day. Return visit. ( No one else nearby) Better beer selection of fair quality but quite flat and over priced. Quick service by pleasant barman. Bit dismayed at having to witness lengthy heated reprimand to young waitress by a senior gentleman for some error she had made. Eyebrows were raised by other customers. Staff problems should be done elsewhere.
