Friendly but slow service, and not good value. I ordered the Cottage breakfast. When it arrived, after nearly 20 minutes it consisted of two small overcooked rashers, a sausage which was small enough to qualify as a half sausage, a hash brown of minuscule proportions, one half tomato, a small fried egg and a large pot of baked beans. (I declined the mushrooms) There were two generous slices of toast accompanied by a single pat of butter each, just enough to smear most of the surface, but not enough to make you feel that you had had any butter. For this I was charged 11 pounds 50, with 3.30 for a small Americano on top. It was edible but not delicious. Basically it was a disappointment. If you are going to offer breakfast try and inject some pizazz into it and remember that if you have someone ordering breakfast it usually means they are hungry and don't want to wait 20 minutes to be served. The place was nowhere full so what the wait would have been like with multiple orders who knows. Won't be returning.

Fantastic staff, out of this world food, my lunch was super tasty. The girls helped me with my phone, always so cheery and chatty with everyone who comes in. I had a rubbish week, but left feeling full and happy. Everyone should have a The Cottage lunch. Best place around to eat x

This café isn't big but it you want excellent coffee (their mochas are great), a good range of fresh cakes and cheerful service, do give this place a try. Every parade of shops needs a coffee house like this.

Nice addition to Merrow parade - hope it will do well and stay, it certainly hits the mark. Nice coffee, and a great tuna melt panini.

This is a great place to stay - the rooms are comfortable, everything works and the food is very good. Hosts are very welcoming and we enjoyed our stay. Also, only 30 minutes from RHS Wisley with an easy car journey.

Sunny lunch time in the garden and the food here was amazing. So many options I fancied on the menu but in the end I chose the Mediterranean quiche, which was delicious. Large group of friendly walkers on the table next to us, so we had a good view of some of the other options and also could hear their complimentary comments. We will definitely have to go back and try the other options! Pretty secluded peaceful country garden. We ate from the bar food menu opposed to the restaurant menu but that looked great too. Service was fantastic by all the staff. We didn’t feel our bill was overpriced for the quality of food and service we received. Didn’t see the inside of the pub, so can’t comment.
