Proper pub, friendly staff, decent food, huge portions. We visited on a weekday lunch time and it was quiet. If you like brass rubbings, dark wood, fairy lights, beer this is the place for you. Nice outside area too.

Good beer, Snack food bad quality. Baked potato was left too long in the microwave so the bottom skin was too hard and shrivelled you couldn't cut through it.. at £10.50 disappointing. Cheese toasties... thin and mean for £9

An Old fashioned Quaint English pub . It sells traditional British Pub Grub .Generous portions at marginally above average prices Our meals were delicious. Harveys bitter was great and a bonus. Service was spot on welcoming, friendly and efficient. You heed to register your car when you enter otherwise you will encounter v a fine as car park is camera controlled. We will return here

We called in for an impromptu drink and decided to stay for lunch after looking at the menu. The manager / owner was incredibly friendly. We ordered a pint of Harvey's and a diet coke. The Harvey's bitter was delicious. We ordered lunch (beef lasagne and Clandon pie). Both were very tasty. We shared creme brulee for pudding which was as good as we have eaten in top restaurants. It was lovely to get away from the usual pretentious gastro pub and experience very good home-cooked meals with friendly and prompt service.

Dreadful. Used to be good. Not going to pay for processed food (liken it to a boil in the bag curry). What's the parking monitoring all about?

The Bull's Head has changed less than many other pubs locally over the past few decades. We regularly go for lunch but this time we went for a weekday evening meal. It's a bit dark inside, but clean. The food came promptly and I enjoyed my steak and kidney pie, a good sized portion and well filled with steak. My wife enjoyed a toastie, and the kitchen was able to make it without any tomato in the garnish because of her allergy. The pub had Young's ordinary and Shere Drop, among others, on tap and in good condition.

It's just not good! It used to be fine and within walking distance from our home. The prices have shot up. But the quality of the food hasn't. Such a shame... The pies are smaller for example. Nobody, was there on a Saturday night. All the locals have gone.

Hard to find anywhere with space for five people on a Sunday lunchtime, but thankfully, the Bull's Head was able to seat us when everywhere else in the area said "no tables until after 5pm" - not much use for lunch! We were made welcome and relaxed after a rather fraught half-hour of fruitless pub-hunting. The missus approved of the local beers available on tap, and I would have liked a cider but there was only Bulmers/Magners on tap, which I abhor, so a Malbec for me instead. Standard pub grub, no complaints from anyone present on that score (and the steak and ale pie was packed with meat, not just a few brown lumps in an artisan earthenware bowl with a puff-pastry hat. One star off for a couple of reasons - the cider issue, the pastry on the pie could have benefitted from being a bit crisper (nit pick!) and a billing error - caught by the missus and refunded without fuss when pointed out to the staff. All in all, glad we found it. Convenient stopping point if you are visiting Hatchlands Park nearby.

Roasts weren’t good enough for £18.00 ! Wafer thin ,fatty catering pack pork was tasteless. Roast chicken was a plane chicken breast cut up ?? Veg were fine , Roast potatoes a bit under cooked, Yorkshire batter too thick. This took 35minutes to arrive, we were very hungry by then , so ate and left . Bar staff were lovely, and pub still full of old charm , but wouldn’t go back for food unfortunately.

After 50 or so years of frequenting, what was one of my favourite pubs, very sad to see how it has now changed for the worse under new owners, who leave it to one solitary man to look after customers as they are busy running another pub elsewhere. There was virtually no one in last night and yet no steak and kidney pie. Ordered chilli con carne, which was ok, but nothing with it at all just some plain rice. The new owners have instituted a new system of car park camera and engaging a company to fine you, if you do not go inside and register your car on a large screen on the counter . No other pub in the entire area has this horrible system, which is not necessary in a pub with no shops nearby, or other need for this, especially in the evening . My friends and I shall sadly not return until we are able to park in the normal way.

Went here at lunch time yesterday (1.30) after a walk. Very friendly and efficient barmaid, simple menu from which we chose pies - one chicken, ham& leek and one 'Clandon'. The latter was more stuffing than sausage meat but still very tasty and filling. Both were enjoyed and served with nicely cooked veg - we had broccoli, carrots, white cabbage and new pots. Too full for puddings, but we intend to return and sample again.

BEWARE THIS PUB IS UNDER NEW OWNERS AND ANY REVIEWS BEFORE 31 JANUARY 2023 RELATE TO THE PREVIOUS OWNER, WENDY. IT SHOULD ALSO BE NOTED THE OLD CHEF HAS NOW LEFT. Went to the pub on a Saturday evening a few weeks ago. It was nearly empty. The food was average to poor, especially the chips. They were rather chewy & rubbery. Possibly cooked and reheated ? There is now a system in place where you have to log your car in or you will be fined. This once was a nice country pub. We will never return. There are a number of other good pubs very close. Try those instead.

Came here for a friends’ Sunday lunch, but three of the four of us were tempted by the pies - an excellent choice! One of us opted for the steak and mushroom whilst two went for the Clandon pie; both were packed full with excellent filling, proper slices of homemade pie with pastry top and bottom so the filling:pastry ratio most definitely favoured the filling! Decent portions of sides complemented well. Puddings were also very good indeed and again generously sized! The pub itself is unspoilt and uncommercialised, making for a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Both staff members we interacted with were equally friendly and relaxed. Super lunch all round!

What a real gem - a truly authentic, unspoilt Surrey pub with traditional pub food to match. Charming and welcoming staff serving great local ales. We loved the proper slice of steak and ale pie with shortcrust pasty top and bottom, not a ladle of stew in a pie dish with a slab of frozen puff pasty added when the order is made. Freshly cooked seasonal vegetables cooked to perfection. Don’t bother going if you like piped music and an interior designers take on a country pub; go for the chat and the warm atmosphere. This is the real deal and an absolute treasure.

We have not dined at the Bulls Head for some time. We arranged to meet friends here for lunch. The interior has retained its autenticity, but it is in need of a slight update including the seating. We were amazed on how prices have gone through the roof with a reduced choice on the menu. Percentage wise much more then other similar venues. Drinks priced are sky high. The staff were excellent and the traditional British food was nice just overpriced.

Shabby, tatty, unattractively old fashioned. Prides itself on it's pies, but ours was very mediocre, with leathery pastry, accompanied by soggy cabbage, carrots and soft, pale chips. Very poor value at £17.95 each. More like a school lunch than a decent pub lunch.

We often use the Bull’s Head for meetings and have always had tasty home made food, coupled with efficient and friendly service. It’s our number one choice in terms of location, service, food and atmosphere, with a varied menu in a good old fashioned country pub. In response to the review in Dec 19 complaining the reviewer was accused of trying to blackmail the staff, I witnessed the exchange and, in my opinion, if someone demands to be given something for free saying if it doesn’t happen then they will write a bad review amounts to blackmail. I have to say the member of staff who was subjected to this rudeness did very well to keep her cool. Don’t let that one review put you off, it’s a great place with great food and great service and we will be back very soon!

I keep returning here because they have 3 well kept real ales (one of them is Shere Drop and won the 2019 CAMRA beer of the year award) and do lovely home made pies. This isn’t a gastro pub and doesn’t pretend to be. They do traditional English favourites to a consistent standard and the portions are generous and good value for money. So generous, that I rarely have room for one of the puddings such as rhubarb crumble and custard, or apple pie, butterscotch tart. etc. I have had them in the past and they are lovely.

This is a quaint pub, very traditional. The menu consists of mainly home made dishes especially those displayed on the Specials board. The Chandon and Steak and Kidney pies were both delicious the service was spot on. The only slight downside is we found the pub to be quite cold and the seating is rather antiquated. Prices are about average. Our soda water was flat but a nice pint of cask beer.

Not haute cuisine, just good quality pub grub in generous quantities. Slices of pie, sausages and mash, lasagne, curry, fish and chips, that sort of thing. Nice puds too.

We have eaten at The Bulls Head many times. There is always a friendly and warm welcome. The food is reasonably priced for very decent sized portions and the beers on tap are well looked after.

We have eaten at the Bulls Head a number of times as it generally quiet and clientele is mainly in the age group of 50 plus so there are no kids running about. The menu is traitional pub food and you get good portions. The Clandon home pie is excellent. Prices are about verage and there is a choice of a couple of cask ales. No television or music blasting out. The staff are always friendly.Perhaps it could do with some redecoration but otherwise it is really just an old fashioned pub. Great

Stopped off here on a trip to Dorking. I ordered the Steak and Mushroom Pie with chips and veg. Very good value. The lady serving was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again. Next time not by car as I couldn’t sample the lovely ales.

We visited on a Saturday night, having reserved the day before. The pub was half full of 'regulars' with not many eating, but it filled up as the evening went on. We received a warm welcome, and had a really nice pub meal. Food was excellent with lovely big portions, and plenty of choice for all the family. No complaints with any of the meals, and reasonably priced for a pub near Guildford! Will definitely return if we're in that neck of the woods again.

Came to the Bulls Head for dinner. Had a great meal, we all had pies which were by far the best we’ve had here.

A very nice local village pub. The staff were very friendly and understanding. We went on Saturday night, and they had a live band playing. Great atmosphere.

Tom was a wonderful server; we’d gladly return for his excellent service and the delicious food. The atmosphere was cozy, with just the right balance—not too busy, but with plenty of seating and a lovely fireplace adding to the charm.
