Disappointing
There wasn’t an abundance of food. I had to eat when I got home.
Very expensive for not particularly good food.
Nice ambiance and the manager had great customer service but the food quality and prices are out of kilter. All swank and show, no substance.
Went for lunch at 12 noon and there was very little to choose from and the sandwich I did buy tasted more of the plastic wrapping than it did of the sandwich. The coffee, however did taste okay.
Got some gyoza for myself and my wife 2 different varieties. Food was average but wasn't expecting reheat gyoza to be the best ever. The service.was terrible and had to beg for chopsticks. Who is eating gyoza with forks?
Sat by the Thames on a lovey sunny day the view was amazing watching the rowers and boats go by the food was home cooked and very tasty and the staff friendly and attentive, Even sat ourside in the top area was table service.
Lovely food, very welcoming, great pub much better than it was a year ago, I will definitely be making this an every week event, had the most lovely time, can’t wait till next week taking hubby there for his birthday 🤗🤗🤗❤️
I have always had a good experience with Squires café’s. But yesterday was a massive exception and disappointment. I had a reservation for 3 people. Arrived to a half empty café – red flag.
It then proceeded to go downhill starting with server and IT issues. Then we asked after the roast – no that is finished for the day (1pm!), smoothies, not doing those today, milkshakes – not enough milk, welsh rarebit, not available…. The next item saw us get up and leave.
Apparently on speaking to an assistant, this has been happening far too frequently.
Not only did they lose our meal custom, but also possible purchases in the main part of the store afterwards.

🙁 What a disappointment. My order arrived missing the milkshake and the chips were stone cold.
Won't make the mistake of ordering through deliveroo again. Shame as in the cinema the food is so good.
The lady in the till wasn't very nice. After telling us they run out of pasta and chicken, she gets upset because we didn't think in a second option straight away and took us an extra minute to order an alternative. We just ate here because it was already late for the kids, we assume the food is not great but at least we expect a good service to compensate the quality. And btw, how can they run out of anything being a supermarket?????
Friday 27th December 2024. The burger I ordered did not look cooked properly.
They were too busy I guess and under pressure. Stupidly I ate it and a few hours later regretted that decision. Violently sick and ruined a weekend away as I could only eat sparingly for a while until my stomach was back to normal.
This was my fault as I should have returned it to be properly cooked.
I submit this review as it might build up a picture for McDonalds if there are other complaints this day.
The cafe is revamped, the menu we had doesn't exactly match the website offering, I guess still in the change over period. The staff were lovely, but the food was very poor value for money. The jacket potato was OK for value, but the toasted ciabatta was just a small square ciabatta thin with a slice of ham, a slice of cheese, some chutney and a little side salad - not good for £9.99. The prawn sandwich used heavily processed brown supermarket medium presliced bread with a scrape of avocado, a decent quantiy of prawns in a rather runny sauce with again, a small side salad. At £11.99 a Waitrose premade one taken out of its packet and better presented would still have given them a decent margin and offered a nicer experience. Most pubs produce a better offering - it's not hard, so up your game Squires!
