M&S cafe in Elmbridge

No complaints at all about the fish and chips at £9.95. It was superb, 5*. But the tortilla with salad arrived without the dressed carrot and cole slaw mix, had to be sent back. No forks so had to use a tiny picnic one use with a proper knife. Courteous and helpful start.

I love this place, the food and the coffee, but only when the coffee is prepared by lovely ladies! There is sometimes a young boy named NATHAN there, he shouldn't work there! makes terrible coffee! I ordered a caramel latte and felt like I was drinking only milk.. my girlfriend ordered a cappucino and drank only milk! I will come back here, but when Nathan comes, I will never order coffee!

4 of us ate at M&S Brooklands Restaurant, easy order 3 Soups 1 tea cake and a coffee. After a long wait 1 soup arrived and the tea cake , after 5 minutes my husband went to find out where the other 2 soups were , they said just coming , 5 minutes later they arrived 1 soup was hot the other soup stone cold , my husband took it back to be heated. This service I find is not acceptable , behind the counter you can see staff do not know what they are doing they shouldn't be there if they haven't been trained, even the manager wasn't on top of the situation. This is such a shame as the restaurant is very nice and the food was good when we finally got , we would of liked to of all ate together.

The afternoon tea is fantastic and very good value for money!

Nice calm, busy feel. Helpful staff with a good attitude. Vinegar was missing, but they went and found some. Lasagne a bit too burnt at the edges, but fortunately I like it that way!

I visited the Cafe today with a friend. Unfortunately there were no GF sandwiches and the Cappuccino was very weak. My friend’s Latte was not good. Anna

The food and service were good but we were so disappointed to discover that this cafe closed at 5.30. There were still quite a lot of customers in the cafe too. The store is open till 10pm which is very convenient for us but without being able to take a break occasionally I don’t think we’ll be coming to Brooklands to shop as often as we used to.

Waited over 20mins for food. Staff should set expectations for customers if it takes such long wait

Lovely cafe, good food, bud sadly the service is terribly slow. Waited 20min in a queue just to order simple breakfast and then another 30min for our food. Surely this should be better. Very disappointed and would most likely not return again.

'joanna' was working on her own on the desk. She was taking orders clearing tables making coffee by herself. One person doing the cooking. Long queues. People dumping their trays and walking out. Ridiculous was the word that was being used by customers. They need another three at least working there.

SO LOUD!!! The staff smash and slam as much as possible. Plates, cups, coffee machines.. Its completely unbearable. If I hadn't paid for food, I'd have walked out in seconds.

It was very busy on our family visit for some lunch which explains why the food took over 30 minutes to arrive. But the filthy cutlery is beyond excuse. Hope someone looks into this since we quite enjoy visiting

very slow service and then I was given change for a £10 note not a £20 so watch/check your change if paying by cash, as soon as I said something she 'remembered'. Lots of empty tables with finished trays on them. Only positive was they had gluten free sandwiches.

My friend and I have tried, on three separate occasions, to try the toasted sourdough with smashed avocado and poached eggs advertised as try our new ........ one would expect that something being promoted so largely in their cafe would be available, except on rare occasions they run out. However, we have yet to be successful in trying this well advertised meal. The reasons provided have been: they've run out of avocados; they are having problems with supply of avocados. The latter reason was used today with added information that they have tried to get the avocados from their store below but they are getting fed up with the cafe taking "all" their avocados. After finishing the alternative lunches and going around the store we observed a mass of avocados, which were very unlikely to be sold out. It is very disappointing to have failed to be served what is likely to be a popular choice when it has strong advertising within the store and cafe. The alternative lunches were satisfactory but nothing special. I wanted to make a direct query/complaint to Brooklands M&S cafe but there is nowhere on their website that allows this. They will never improve if there is no way of making them aware of the disappointments!!

It was very cramped and crowded but it was lunchtime. I had a job to walk from counter to a table with hot drinks as the aisles were so narrow. My friend had a piece of cake which she enjoyed. I chose a toasted sandwich which cost over £4. At the pay point and place you ordered and waited for drinks my sandwich was taken to be heated.It was then delivered to our table. It was hot but certainly not toasted it was the soggiest thing I had ever had, if turned over it was untoasted white bread underneath. I thought a toasted sandwich shoult be toasted and crispy. A waste of a great deal of money and so disappointing.

Living Hell The queues were long. Staff disinterested and docile. The food in fairness isn’t bad, but certainly not worth the long stressful wait. The cafe itself is noisy and the lighting too bright. All in all, avoid this place.

Great for a posh hot chocolate and a toastie, my little treat if at Brooklands. Always served in five minutes, food within ten minutes. Often busy, but always a table.

Took ages to be served. Only wanted 2 coffees and a couple of sandwiches. Took over 10 mins to get the coffees and another 15 to get the sandwiches. Coffee and sandwiches were lovely but shame service wasn't faster.

After viewing a few m&s menus online (not weighbridge as theirs wasn’t on there) it looked very promising so I thought it was worth giving it a go.On arrival it was straight away obvious the reason this m&s cafe didn’t have their menu on the internet like most of the others! It was such a disappointment. Ended up with soup and a roll! Bonus was that I got to keep the other 3 rolls out 9f the pack as they had no other use for them. That would be great if they weren’t the rolls m&s have just changed to that are not nice at all. So yeah wish I’d gone to Tesco’s cafe now as there actually was better options there after all.. would of expected more from M&S!

Just wanted to recharge so had a lovely coffee using free WiFi , staff very friendly and helpful as always

The afternoon tea is very good quality an value. Enough for 3 people, with an extra tea. Cant wait to go back.

The queues have to be seen to be believed. The staff seem completely disengaged and should be trained properly. The drinks when you eventually get served are OK, and the prices not unreasonable. However, it is a grim experience, especially if you are laden down with shopping. Dirty tables are everywhere, and there are just not enough staff to go round.

All food looks good, fresh and is tasty what i have tried just for a coffee and snack whilst out shopping. Could do with tables cleaning and clearing more often although when asked are quick to help.

My grand daughter has discovered afternoon teas, especially at M & S, so 6 of us met up at Brooklands. It was packed and it took a long while to get served but that was the only "hic cup" It didn't take that long for the food to arrive and they immediately noticed we were short of sandwiches and promptly got them. It was also a lot cheaper than elsewhere and you could get over 2 cups of tea so we were very happy and would definitely go back again.

Queued for half an hour last Sunday at about noon to pay for sandwiches and order one coffee.

I visit this Cafe as I thought it would be a good experience. As I queued up I was quicky processed with my food and the taste was good and selection of sandwiches and cakes were OK I was very surprised of the availability of tables but I couldn't understand why a lot of the tables were stacked full of used cutlery. Surely this needs to be addressed. I was shocked to see the same comment from other customers. The furniture was reasonably clean and the table which were available are clean. However it does not hide the fact that first impression when people enter the Cafe is clutter and unorganized team. The Cafe is will lit and has a small area for customers to sit in a glass covered area which will be nice in the summer months. Areas between the seating area is wide enough for a wheelchair and also it seems to be very popular with families and the older generation visiting.

This is the second visit within 3 weeks and no improvement on the standards. Visited on a Saturday at different times. There were plenty of tables available, but they all needed clearing, on the first visit no staff visible, yesterday two members of staff, but did not achieve a lot whilst we were there. The tables that were "clear" still required wiping down due to the detritus left behind, food left on the floor etc. I would say Mgt are not looking at the cafe area and letting it run itself, so letting the M&S; name down. Also visited the ladies facilities before we left, they were smelly, dirty floor and messy sinks, no evidence of cleaners going in to check them. Very disappointing.

Went for lunch with a friend today and pleased to say menu now has a few real choices if you you don’t want to eat bread.. or heavy carb. Based meal eg soups and scrambled eggs .

I popped in after shopping yesterday as been here lots of times.

When shopping at Marks it's always a treat for me to go to their cafe and have a cheese scone and a coffee. The staff are always efficient and friendly, coffee tastes like coffee should and the cheese scones are my absolute favourite! Only conplaint - sometimes it can be difficult to find a seat at an empty table as the place is so popular..

I have been here a few times & always use my Sparks card & from time to time you get vouchers. This time a voucher for £5 for cake & hot drinks as it was my birthday.

A bit pricy as all M 7 S cafes are, also often have to wait a while to get served. Food and drinks are good, also good variety of fresly prepared food. Good place to meet up with friends whilst shopping.

I have been here a few times & it was so busy as it was lunchtime. We found a booth table. We had egg & cress sandwiches, short bread & cup of tea for 1. Cheese & mushroom toastie, iced spiced bun, hot choc, each hot drink came with a small round shortbread. All in all very yummy. After we had a wonder through the store & got some great bargains in the sale...... Would recommend, but would either come earlier or later to avoid the rush.

Good food and good service. A good range of sandwiches and simpler hot food options. Afternoon tea is nice and there is a good range for kids. Occasionally long queues and a lack of enough high chairs.

We visited here whilst re-stocking our larder, following a holiday to New Zealand.

I have been here lots of time & staff very friendly & lots to choose from hot/cold food & drinks, kids menu too.
