The best restaurants in East Hampshire South East

Working local to the Indian, eat from the star most days etc. I recommend the cuisine also nice friendly guys work there. Ordered a chicken vindaloo with extra green chilli, Its a high grade chicken breast also a great sauce. A great consistency and a great flavour. Mushroom rice and keema nan also a great choice. This place definitely has character and stands out on the Petersfield high street—there’s really nothing else like it in the area. The food is consistently good, and I’ve been a few times now. It’s more of a restaurant than a pub/bar, so I wouldn’t go just for a drink. That said, I’m not a fan of ordering at the bar when the setup suggests table service would make more sense. The service was disappointing and in my opinion let it down. While it’s clearly popular and well-run, it’s part of a chain—and for the price and quality, I’d personally rather support a local independent business. Still, it’s a solid option if you’re in town and looking for something familiar but well done.

The accommodation in the room "Station Approach" was unsatisfactory: Room too small for double bed plus single bed (for just two persons) Night table only on one side No chair or armchair Only one of four light bulbs functioning No reading lamps No wardrobe for jackets etc. instead makeshift frame No packets for tea and/or coffee No cups Unplastered wall, unfinished construction work Unfitting toilet seat Too little toilet paper (less than half one roll, not replenished) Makeshift mirror in bathroom: no wall mirror or toiletry space No reception service mornings: Sunday and Monday (bank holiday) Reception incapable of checking on payments

We ordered the food on a very unclear line but on recommendation, the food was delicious but was it worth the £10 delivery charge, outrageous, will not be using again.......

Disgusting, I wouldn’t feed it to my dog. And the lad behind the counter needs education on customer service. Anyone that thinks this food is actually good needs their head checking

Our first impression of this pub was that it had a lovely country feel. And that is exactly what it is. Inside there was wooden beams and pictures of how the pub looked many years ago. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff could not of been more accommodating. We noticed the large garden with a huge cover to shade a large section. There was also a children’s play area with plenty of benches to really soak in the atmosphere. We cannot thank Simon, Ellie and their team for their hospitality. We will definitely be returning.

We have stayed twice now for the Watercress "Real Ale Train" event. Both times very happy with the room, service and food. Comfortable bed, tea and coffee in room, love the face there is a bath. Breakfast and lunch (steak chibattaa and fries) were both great. Service in reception and restaurant always friendly. No issues. Great location for the railway and town.

Always super welcoming, this is the epitome of a great local run cafe. Great selection of food, coffee and even things like birthday/seasonal supplies and children's toys. We stop by at least once a week.

Food was disgusting chicken like rubber

Tried to have lunch here today. It was lunchtime and with the relatively small choice of meals and snacks available, (breakfast stops at 11:30am) it would have been reasonable to assume that demand could be met. Wrong! With only three quarters of tables occupied, my first choice of meal was unavailable due to a lack of potatoes. So, having had to choose another dish, twenty minutes passed before being informed that an ingredient for that was missing. I found this unacceptable and left having been refunded for the inconvenience of having to put up with such shoddy service. I was not the only complainant and something needs doing to improve service in this establishment.
